Sonnet: Sufferings- the Key to Life

Through sufferings, we are born to lead this life;
Through sufferings, we are even baptized;
Through sufferings, we all must meet our strife;
Through sufferings, we’re even magnetized.

Through sufferings, sometimes we have our joy!
Through sufferings, we earn our livelihood;
Through sufferings, we grew to man from boy;
And sufferings’ our teacher from childhood!

Through sufferings, we learn in life good things;
Through sufferings, we learn to live well, pray!
Through sufferings, big truths, this world us brings;
By sufferings, we fight ‘gainst Tempter’s ways.

Yet, sufferings- a blessing God us gave,
To keep the road to Heaven, well behave!

Face rather than avoid

The more you try to avoid sufferings
The more you will suffer from trivial things,
Which will occupy that place to torture you,
With the quota of suffering yet to come.
Instead, face the sufferings and finish it.

Sonnet: Let Sufferings Come, So What!

My suff’rings isn’t big compared to others;
Each one’s sufferings appear too much to him!
How suffered my freedom-fighter brothers!
We tend to think that each one’s life is grim.

How pioneers suffer in walks of life!
How prisoners suffer in lone cellars!
How leaders strive to ward off unique strife!
How people suffer when come down pillars!

Suffered have many, much more than any;
How suffered Christ for man’s sins on the cross!
Sufferings in life will visit so many;
A man who suffers is now his own boss!

Sufferings are nothing when God is beside;
In suff’ring souls on earth, God will reside.

Sonnet: Great things are born of sufferings

The Bee that stings, alights on each flower,
more gently than the kiss of a lover!
And though it sucks the nectar hungrily,
The flower gives it away, lovingly!

Twisting and turning through the birth-canal,
The baby comes out head first, crying loud;
When mother's sufferings become banal,
It turns into a sigh of relief, proud!

Great things are born out of much sufferings;
And this is true of Poetry that lasts;
In sufferings, the spirit becomes king,
With armour of grace/divineness, God casts.

Effortless man remains in laziness;
After pain comes relief, thats happiness.

Remember the sufferings of Christ, the storms that were weathered... the crown that came from those sufferings which gave new radiance to the faith... All saints give testimony to the truth that without real effort, no one ever wins the crown.

Kierkegaard

A poet is an unhappy being whose heart it torn by secret sufferings, but whose lips are so strangely formed that when the sighs and the cries escape them, they sound like beautiful music... and then people crowd about the poet and say to him: "Sing for us soon again;" that is as much as to say. "May new sufferings torment your soul."

Not Afraid

I'm not afraid to die
All these sufferings;
plagues, diseases
are killing me inside
But I'm not afraid
.

And so, death, being
The harvest of man
For sins of a thousand years
And all these sufferings,
Not enough to atone
For my sins?

The empathy

To give alms is compassion.
To feel for one’s sufferings is sympathy.
To share one’s sufferings is empathy.
What you do to parents is compassion,
What you do to siblings is sympathy.
Your doings to offspring is empathy.
Shows empathy to others to be great.

Sonnet-Let Me Walk In Heaven's Road

Let sorrows and temptations come galore;
I'll be a victor in the end, I know;
Give me the grace to bear them God, some more;
Thou art the ev’r-green tree; And I, a bough!

When despair hits me hard like fierce a wind;
Let me swing up and down but never break;
0 bring my ha1ycyon days sooner and end,
My sufferings, O God; me stronger make.

When no more sufferings I can more take,
Give me more tolerance, rejuvenate;
O let me God do all this for Thy sake;
I don't believe in something all call Fate.

And when I must be gone from earth one day,
0 let me walk and run in Heaven's way!

Common To Find

Rotten food
Rotten ideas
Bad actions
Worst sufferings

Polluted environment
Serious diseases
Countless deaths
Worst crimes

Great sufferings
Floods and food shortages
Earth quakes and volcano eruptions
In search of another planets

Wars and skirmishes
Terrorists and killings
Nature and mankind
Is there anything common to find?

Epitaph on the Monument of the Marquis of Winchester

He who, in impious times, undaunted stood,
And 'midst rebellion durst be just and good;
Whose arms asserted, and whose sufferings more
Confirmed the cause for which he fought before,
Rests here, rewarded by an heavenly prince,
For what his earthly could not recompence.
Pray, reader, that such times no more appear;
Or, if they happen, learn true honour here.
Ark of this age's faith and loyalty,
Which, to preserve them, heaven confined in thee.
Few subjects could a king like thine deserve;
And fewer, such a king so well could serve.
Blest king, blest subject, whose exalted state
By sufferings rose, and gave the law to fate!
Such souls are rare, but mighty patterns given
To earth, were meant for ornaments to heaven.

The Need And The Greed

Need is a desire; greed is a desire.
Desires denied, sufferings surface.
Need is met at ease but not the greed
Which is boundless with sufferings profound.

Need and greed aren’t in water tight cells.
Need might restrict to physical wants.
Greed is for ego’s gratification.
Possessiveness is the sign of the greed.

To earn by wrongful means is from greed.
To exploit and hoard is an act of greed.
To garner and flaunt all you have is greed.
Greedless, though penny-less, you’re loveable.

To sedate the pride is to tame the greed.
To kindle the pride is to fuel the greed.
Having got money, power and possession,
As the result of greed, you will lose peace.

Remove the greed; jealousy is gone.
Remove the greed; no feeling of revenge.
Hail the poor and condemn the greedy.
Then the tendency to grow rich will wane.

Live simple; live humble; then need is less.
Be proud to own a bicycle, not a car.
Value one who owns a bicycle, not a car.
You will have saved energy and the nature.

Don’t embrace comforts, which will weaken you.
Don’t enthuse with ego, which will make loss big.
Unlike the cheat, being poor is not a shame.
Less wants; less sufferings, more happiness.

Carried On My Back To Master

If tears from my eyes,
Are seen to drip...
As if from a faulty faucet,
Needing to be fixed.
I have just observed and visited,
The sufferings endured...
By my sisters and brothers.
Enduring hunger and homelessness...
In once thriving neighborhoods.

If my tongue seems to be tensed,
And incensed with laments.
I have just observed and visited,
The sufferings endured...
By my sisters and brothers.
Enduring hunger and homelessness...
In once thriving neighborhoods.

If my comments should offend,
Anyone listening...
With pretensions they defend.
I have just observed and visited,
The sufferings endured...
By my sisters and brothers.
Enduring hunger and homelessness...
In once thriving neighborhoods.

And I do the best I can...
To continue my journey,
With a focus at my command.
Trying to comprehend and understand...
Why my tears,
Falling in a silence no one hears...
Can not nourish or flourish those lives I pass,
As I grasp these visions appearing...
On my path.
Knowing my own burdens and tasks,
Are carried on my back to master!

A Discourse On The Sufferer....

i am extremely worried
about you
for you think that we are the cause
of your
sufferings

we shall give you that cure

we shall leave you
and we give you that choice
you may leave us
for good
it all depends on what light
you have
what dew is there
on the carpet's
leaf

for we do not want us to be your suffering
we know how to manage sorrow
we have outlived grief
we know the labyrinths of lamentations
we have gone beyond
sadness and joys
in fact, they do not have meaning anymore
except perhaps
a flower on our ears
a garland on our necks
a pair of slippers on our feet

when we do not have you
we know how to shut ourselves like doors
but we always leave you the key
and when the right time comes when you have learned
to go beyond the fences of those dark horizons
or of the walls of the threshold of tolerances
you may open the door again
do not knock

but we cannot assure you
that we shall be here forever
waiting for you
that will be too much for us to
give to you

we are the winds
and we always take chances somewhere
where we are loved
where we are not the cause of sufferings

and we have this trait of always
going somewhere

for us to stay
if you only know
is another suicide
of natural born
reason....

An Attitude

The life never ment to be the same for all of us
It's just destines game
I don't have someone to blame
And I've always believed everything that happens to us has a reason beyond
Just we always come out of the darkest ways holding lights within hearts
Everything is there for a good reason I believe

Some of us with laughter was came to the life
Some of us with tears since their first breath are friends
Just this is how the life always used to be unfair
But something I've got never sufferings and tears would change the realities
Only thing they can do to bring more sadness more tears
It's all about patience
If you have nothing to change for what are your sufferings
They have nothing to do just to make things worse and harder to bear
The life is a school some of us graduates holding in their hands hearts filled with patience and charity
Some go to wrong ways it always depends to our attitudes and good seeds inside us.

I've chosen my path to God
I can see clearly the way that guides me to God
My attitude the positively look to the life
I can't turn the blacks to the whites
I don't have a magic stakes
To change impossibility's
I try to do my best to go ahead
With wright steps
But if there are things can't be changed in life
I'll never chose the darkened ways to make my changes
Just to feed my own interests
There are things are therefore to stay
You have to believe
It's about your attitudes.

For Kemberly

Her body, already rotting, was found dumped, along with seven other guerrillas, deep in the forest of Concepcion, days after the Dec.15 encounter. (Inquirer, April 8,2010)

at first they were surprised about the changes.
there were no more cocktails
parties are shunned
and you stopped reaping honors
for yourself in the state university

in a wink of an eye you were gone.
where?

you assumed new names.
you've been living with the poor peasants
in nameless places.
you are Adriane, Ms. Nurse,
or God knows who

they know later through the papers.
i am shocked too about your untimely death
your rotten body
beside the new people's army guerrillas
deep in the forest of the mountain in Bukidnon

beauty and brain and idealism all
gone.

at the end of all these
sufferings
on the temple of giving all that you have

what they give you is a poem
the one that does not make any dead man rise
the one that never heals
the sufferings of those
who love you more than them
