like in a well-rooted tree
good or bad habits sprout with voracious ease
akin new leaves and twigs

Trimming The Trees, Pruning The Twigs....

on the tree of life
there will be more leaves
and twigs and flowers
on spring
and more luscious fruits
for eating

there is somehow a
need for trimming
what excesses are there
twigs that go awry
leaves that lush for too much
shade
and so we do just that
cut some twigs
take a look and cut some
more
remove some leaves
for sacrifices
for us to some more
and some time
see heaven for once.

Or Existence

look at you
you take pride of myriad leaves
of branching twigs
of a sturdy trunk

you are saying you are
well rooted
and strong and no
wind is good enough
to uproot you

look at me
i have no roots
i am bald for i have not
a single leaf
from my imaginary
branches
from my twigs which you say
do not exist at all

you laugh and take pride
with what you are
and what you own andwhat you keep

i am invisible and i have no word
that i own

i am not even a wind
since i do not touch your leaf
and cannot let you feel

i do not doubt that it is my mere silence
that horrifies you

and i thank myself
for just being this way

i have no name
i have no self
i merely pass by
and i do not come
back

and so beyond myself and all these
you are nothing too

as i perceived myself to be
not a wind not a sound
nothing about roots

or existence.

Lino

i trust you and i repeat
the line of our heritage
from trees we come from
rooted to their roots
this time we let go off
our leaves and even some
of our twigs as we pay
tribute to the change of the
season, but soon, Lino,
and i trust you, we become
trees faithful to the sun again,
soon they shall see buds,
growing from new twigs,
roots growing deeper
probing our loneliness.

Living Kingdom

Life energy present in the plant cells
Imbibes elements and build live matter.
Elements in the earth and carbon in air
Are converted into living matter.

Life energy present in animals
In takes plants as food and help them add flesh
Or it takes flesh as food and gives more flesh.
Life energy circulates within these.

Life energy of plants and animals
Are same and animals are sequel to plants.
The existence and the expansions of
The living kingdom is from evolution.

The whole kingdom can be analogous
To a banyan tree, where sprout twigs and leaves
And where dry twigs and leaves on routine,
With no birth and no death to life energy.

The computer tree- algorithm (Sextuple Crystalline Poetry)

A free tree is never rooted
Infinite complete binary tree

A finger tree has internal nodes
Each one in this tree has child nodes

And their connection is a walk
Parents and children walking the tree

Nodes without children are called leaves
While roots are leaves for the finger trees

Very intelligent words tree
Trees-no one-to-one correspondence

Adaptive merging operation
Implementing finger searching trees.

Sonnet: Live Usefully

Oh, how they sprout fast, flourish- trees in wild!
To generate tons of fruits, flow’rs and seeds;
And how their leaves and twigs fail to get piled!
Who knows what fauna uses them as feeds?

But ’tis not so with trees useful to men;
They grow less easily and by men’s sweats;
A lot gets wasted despite any fen;
The weary farmers live al life in debts.

Such is the case with bad and good men too;
The bad outnumber good ones manifold;
Yet, that’s the way the world goes, what to do?
But all must pass away, both young and old.

How usefully we live is what matters!
Sin should not turn soul’s fabric to tatters.

For I Too Must Leave Just Like Those Birds

the tree in the garden
has died

what we see now are
nothing but twigs without leaves

below are the heaps
of dead leaves
rotting

we have become like them
hopeless for sometime

dry and cracking
light as the wind
drifting like
the cloud

empty, hollowed by the
mourning of our arid
days

dragging nights
lifeless on a very cold wood
for a bed

one morning some yellow sparrows
with thin long black beaks
hover upon those twigs

and the dead tree even for
the moment has assumed
life

upon a borrowed hope only
for that brief moment

until then when all the sparrows
fly away again
taking with them all the songs
that you hear

you learn the tune from those
thin black and long beaks
and you must compose a song
for yourself

borrowing hope from hope
putting those leaves back
on your
imaginary trees

you must tell me
about the will to live

for i too must leave
and be a part of somewhere else

Robbin Tree

The Robin begins to build her nest
in the gnarled tree;

the twigs are twisted;

the branches lack leaves;

and the nest is exposed
offering no shelter.

She puts another twig
into the tree fork;
but it falls to the ground.

She looks away west
and leaves.

Her wings
flapping
out a message:

Nature is abandoning us.

Upon A Dead Tree

this morning
i check upon
a dead tree

there are
no leaves
what i see
are birds
looking like
leaves

the tree is still
dead
and then the twigs
are all empty
when all the
birds

fly away

If I Was a Tree

If I was a tree my roots would be planted in the soil where Shakespeare walked. My branches would sprout from the likes of Browning, Whitman, Wheatly, Dunbar, Hughes and Angelou and in the spring my leaves would blossom with my own words. So a poet I would be even if I was a tree.

Sonnet: Growth Of A Language

A language ought to grow up like a tree;
And lose its twigs and branches, leaves, may be;
Enlarge its trunk and spread its crown widely,
Yet, live and grow with time, immortally.

Most modern words, usages could be dead;
The needs of time will change its very form;
The style of hair can make a diff'rent head;
Yet, to a certain standard still conform.

All things must change or Life could be a bore;
Variety is the spice of life- all say;
New arguments could change its very core;
We cannot drink the same soup everyday.
A language must be dynamic always;
Yet, shines with splendor akin to Sun's rays.

How The Leaves Are Blown By The Wind

did i not tell you that these leaves come from the trees?
no dispute about it
about them, they grow out from there, those twigs
of the trees of life,
they get their glow, their sheen, though they have given more honor
to the sun
rather than the roots and the phloem

the season for them to mature and fall has come
and they all wait for the wind, the great strong wind to blow them all away
to their respective destinies
some find their way to the river
some to the thick heap of other leaves destined to rot
and only if you hear them
they say they come from nowhere
not from the tree of life
not from me

the leaves, my poems, the wind my way of throwing,
the tree, myself, my roots my mind, my phloem my blood

i made them all, but now, they are on their own

Robert Frost

Leaves Compared with Flowers

A tree's leaves may be ever so good,
So may its bar, so may its wood;
But unless you put the right thing to its root
It never will show much flower or fruit.

But I may be one who does not care
Ever to have tree bloom or bear.
Leaves for smooth and bark for rough,
Leaves and bark may be tree enough.

Some giant trees have bloom so small
They might as well have none at all.
Late in life I have come on fern.
Now lichens are due to have their turn.

I bade men tell me which in brief,
Which is fairer, flower or leaf.
They did not have the wit to say,
Leaves by night and flowers by day.

Leaves and bar, leaves and bark,
To lean against and hear in the dark.
Petals I may have once pursued.
Leaves are all my darker mood.

Sonnet – Don’t Be

Don't be the fallen leaves, so young and green;
Don't be the buds that never can flower;
Don't be the twigs that always remain lean;
Don't be the flow'rs that dropp with each shower.

Don't be the branches growing very long;
Don't be the tree that never blooms at all;
Don’t be the nests that disallow Bird-song;
Don't be the fruits that hit the Earth by Fall.

Don't be the trunk hollowed by Birds, white-Ants;
Don't be the crown that can't get Sun or Rain;
Don't be the tree that grows not straight but slants;
Don't be the roots that prop the tree in vain.

Don't be the tree that grows on marshy-land;
Just be a tree secure in Maker's Hand.

The Maple

is a system of posture for wood.
A way of not falling down
for twigs that happens
to benefit birds. I don't know.
I'm staring at a tree,
at yellow leaves
threshed by wind and want you
reading this to be staring
at the same tree. I could
cut it down and laminate it
or ask you to live with me
on the stairs with the window
keeping an eye on the maple
but I think your real life
would miss you. The story
here is that all morning
I've thought of the statement
that art is about loneliness
while watching golden leaves
become unhinged.
By ones or in bunches
they tumble and hang
for a moment like a dress
in the dryer.
At the laundromat
you've seen the arms
thrown out to catch the shirt
flying the other way.
Just as you've stood
at the bottom of a gray sky
in a pile of leaves
trying to lick them
back into place.

Good News

Something to begin with
That's easy said than done
You'll see me rolling home
But I don't understand why
Still there's nothing at all
Time is on my side
But we mustn't let our disappointment show
But I will, and you will go on
All I need is some good news (some good news)
All I need is some good news (just some good news)
To put me on my feet (to put me on my feet)
To put me at my ease (at my ease)
All I need is some good news (all I need is some good news)
All I need is some good news (some good news)
To put me at my ease (to put me at my ease)
All I need is some good news
All I need is some good news (just gimme me some good news)
All I need is some good news (some good news)
To put me at my ease (to put me at my ease)
To put me on my feet (on my feet, on my feet)
All I need is some good news (all I need is some good news)
All I need is some good news (all I need is some good news)
All I need is some good news
All I need is some good news (all I need is good news)
To put me on my ease (to put me at my ease)
To put me on my feet (on my feet, on my feet)
All I need is some good news (good news)
All I need is some good news (some good news)
All I need is some good news (good news)

The Wishing Tree

A charming sweet youth
Wandered through life
A bit awkward
To say uncouth
Stumbling through
The toils of life
He stumbled upon
An archaic tree
Wishing on
It's old wearied branch
wishing he was
older than he.
With a subtle whack
The tree hit back
And said ‘Thou inane youth you would rather be old like me? '
With a bump on his head
Leaves began to sprout
His flexible limbs
Turned to stalwart tims
Now all that he sees
Are old green leaves
And the old boy began to sap.
Then a new youth appeared
And he gleamed with joy
'Look at me, ' he cheered
'I am a brand new boy.'
He looked at the tree
And sweetly smiled
'Now you wish you were me
A happy child! '
