Save Forests and Rare Species
The Franklin forests are extinct;
These trees of beauty are now rare;
No more are they found in the wild;
Their fragrant flowers tempt a child!
Last seen in 18 zero3,
By Altamaha river-side –
A deciduous tree or shrub,
It grows upto a twenty feet.
With leaves that change color by fall,
Its snow-white flowers are showy;
With golden yellow stamens free,
It is now grown in pots from seeds!
But nothing like the forests wild
Of Franklin trees that grew on own;
You could not find a path through them –
Home to wild animals many.
How Nature rears a forest dense!
–The secrets, no man deciphers;
The way they flourish in the wild,
No gardener can do like-wise!
As man destroys more forest trees,
For want of newer farming land,
Wild wondrous trees then cease to be,
And other species vanish too.
Deforestation is a crime
That has gone uncontrolled with time;
Rare species of trees, shrubs and beasts
Have been effaced from earth with ease.
The earth has lesser green cover!
’Tis growing bald, much more each day,
As forest trees are felled for wood,
At rates more than we ever should.
World’s rain-forests are turning scarce –
A cause of global-warming fast;
Landslides and floods are dangers new;
More species turn something of past!
Trees extract carbon-dioxide,
And make the air less polluted;
Wild beasts are on the rampage when
Their forest habitats are gone.
Save forests and afforest, man;
The clouds bring rain when trees ask for;
Wild beasts need forests for their homes;
Preserve forests in ways you can.

Nature's Friends
Their protests loggers and sawmillers don't please
But to those noble souls who fight to save the trees
One well might say respect is overdue
On Nature's behalf such great work they do
The loggers and sawmillers have been known to say
That all tree huggers in jails should be locked away
For when they come to protest in the State owned wood
They are interfering with their livelihood.
Still for their livelihood there's a huge price to pay
As most of the old growth forests have been cut away
And if the loggers say that they too for Nature care
Then they ought to go and search for work elsewhere.
For with the balance of Nature they interfere
As due to loss of habitat wild life disappear
And many species of animals and birds becoming rare
And of Nature's ways far too many unaware.
And though the loggers and sawmillers they don't please
I salute all of those who fight to save the trees
They are Nature's friends and respect to them is due
But sad to say that their numbers far too few.

Sonnet: On Deforestation
What heart of stone dare lift an axe to strike,
And fell a tree thats young, green, and mighty?
And when the act is over, what dislike,
Shouldst fill the heart of Nature, Almighty?
Who sows the seeds and grows the forest-trees?
Who brings the Rain and makes the flowers fruit?
Who makes the leaves, nuts fall in Autumn's breeze?
Forests made over years, in days men loot!
Deforestation is an act unkind;
That men keep doing foolishly for long;
Such men are insane, doing things off mind;
Afforestation sans, 'tis very wrong.
How can men rid the earth of greenery?
No man can live in such a scenery.

Votes are like trees, if you are trying to build a forest. If you have more trees than you have forests, then at that point the pollsters will probably say you will win.

Wild Forest In The Sky
Wild animals all of you are saved here
At the wild forest in the sky
This is your home
You won't find poachers here in the sky
Because the sky is far away from the planet
Earth
And if they wanted
They would had to walk up a long flight of stairs to the sky
To be honest to you
From the earth
To the wild forest are 390 steps
So this would be impossible to do for the poachers
Wild animals
You are lucky
That a wild forest exists
In the sky

Trees and Plants
Plants and trees
So green so green
The kitchen is the leaf
And the root is the chief
They give us flowers to decorate
And also to celebrate
They give us paper from their wood
And they are found in the woods
With their help we can make whatever we want
From a rubberband to a pant
We don't need to pay tax or fees
To borrow from our lovely trees
They protect us from diseases
That would make us ill
All the carbondioxide
They always take in
Some people cut trees
For things like table and chair
Not knowing what pollution
They are doing to the air
Forests are turning from green to brown
Animals' faces are always with a frown
So let's make this place from brown to green
By planting more saplings and trees

Carry me on
Carry me on to the forest whose face is
aglow in light.
I put down golden words
in the raptness of lovely green
with pure conviction I see the reflection of every
standing tree on wild streams
Carry me on to the forest with a
moonlight-rinsed face, to the cootage of peace
where every moment is enriched by sweet
chirping of birds
I place the footprints of murderous men
on every humble tree
Carry me on to the depth of dense forests
I plant one tall tree of love-laden heart
on the flowing breast of every travelling river
I tear off fruitless human blandishings
Carry me on to the eternal free forest,
to the erect trees growing in a slope
I look for pollens of every season in
every tree which donot know how to stoop down
I sculpture on every tree symbols of
futile human pride
Carry me on.

Sonnet: All Things Have a Purpose
A wild tree grows for ants to be its guests!
Old water-tank helps frogs spawn, croak each year;
A neem tree grows for birds to build their nests;
The refuse-dumps rear insects sounding ear.
The cut tree-trunks help white ants eat and breed;
The papayas help birds to beak with joy;
On wild berries, squirrels happily feed;
The tall palm-trees house pea-fowls to enjoy.
The wilder trees add greenness to the earth;
The wild flowers give nectar to wild bees;
The parrot-noise though disturbing, gives mirth;
His duty to His creatures all, God sees.
Don’t blame something if you can’t understand;
God knows the uses of the desert-sand!

Laurels Of Green
Trees filled with starlight
Wise rivers in the root of life
Cedar leaves banners of Solomon
White pine laugh with the elves
Poems of the ancient sequoias
Whispering forests by the sea
We are the fallen race of men
They have not been banished
They are free with no guilt or shame
They know no war like strife of man
They speak of the fire from above
We walk softly on velvet moss
Wild flowers, apple orchards, ferns
My darling have you heard?
Lets go out tonight in the moonlight
Blueberries grow free and wild
Eagles filled with grace and joy
Oak and basswood, grapevines
The grass awaits the savory rain
Solitude walks in the morning dew
Have you seen the magic islands?
Decorated with lavish palm trees
Coconuts, pineapples, breadfruit grow
Sandy beaches lit with tropic sun
Volcanoes rise like spires of mystery
Paradise by a sea of green blue dreams
Beads of seeds with spells of shamans
A crown of green that rules the night
Hear tides crash into the mountains side
Rain forests with tendrils of Eden
Tread on bareback mountains gloom
Where winds sing pure and free
Steep as love near precipitous gorges
Beauty walks amidst clouds and rainbows
Waterfalls fill with pristine melting snow
Streams feed the rivers of unyielding myth
Forests of shining green fill the valley
Stars glisten through the pines of night
Like ancient eyes that guard the earth
This land is filled with a mystic glow
Lovers of the great father sun
Old like legends of gnomes and moonbeams
No guile or pretense no masks to wear
Violets, peonies, orchids and the rose
Lilies on ponds and fields
Graced with the voice of song birds
Breezes in your hair of gold
Tales of the winds of old
When the trees ruled in gentle peace
Lovers need the laurels of green

My Silence Shall Be
i find this in the forest of trees
long trees, shady, such that what you can see
are only shadows of leaves
and what you hear is only the sound of the wind
choked between tight walls,
this is my silence,
moist, and soft, between a growth of wild
ferns
rotten leaves heaps and heaps of
rotten leaves
layer after layer of rotten leaves
thick and pushed still to the roots
smashed to the ground
some seeds from the oaks
or maybe from the flowers of the orchids
or some sweet fruits and red berries fall
in there
and they begin to grow
rich as humus is this soil down
the darkness of this forest,
this is my silence
deep inside me
moist, rotten, but soon
lots shall grow
seeds turning into sprouts
to trees again
perhaps taller than ever
some fruits so sweet and colored and shiny
some flowers scented and so lovely,
this my silence
shall be, i am keeping it for years

Earth Day,2008
Save planet earth;
Save earth from man;
Save all species,
Including man!
Man spills the oil
Upon the seas,
And kills the fish,
Birds, ruthlessly!
Man steals the shelf
Of coral reef,
And ruins grounds
Where fishes breed.
Man flattens hills,
Breaks mountains whole,
For granite stones:
So climes vary.
Man warms the earth
In many ways,
And makes the hole
In ozone sky.
Man shifts the weight
On earth’s surface,
By sky-scrapers:
And born are quakes
Man deforests
For farming lands;
Wild beasts come out
To eat his crops.
Man poaches beasts
For skin and bones,
And builds reserves
To save species.
Man sinks bore-wells
For raising crops,
And drought occurs
As trees are cut.
Man pollutes air
And water, soil;
Diseases come
New, unheard of.
Man makes genes too,
And clones some beasts;
But can’t breathe life
To things he makes.
Man kills his own
Through abortions,
And brags he does
For Eugenics.
Man wastes money
And resources,
While people starve
To death, in crowds.
Man spoils Nature
In many ways,
But takes not blame
For blunders made.
Man does most things
In stupid ways,
Quite hazardous
To human race.
Man acts like God
In every field
But cannot ape
The Maker’s feat.
Man boasts with pride
The things he makes;
Not one seems good
Like how God made.
Mother Nature
Has her balance;
Let man align
To her, sweet ways.
No man can beat
The Maker’s feat;
No creature can
Surpass the Lord!
Save planet earth;
Save earth from man;
Save all species,
Including man!

If Nature Survives
Once upon a time dense forest
Now stands open field with no trees to rest
No green branches and no noise of birds
It has become rare chance for melody to be heard
Where has our cuckoo gone?
Why has she deserted morning tune?
What have we done to her go in exile?
I thought she has lost her refuge for a while
The sparrows have disappeared too
Quite in numbers could be seen through
In window hole or in little hide out
They were happily seen to be heard about
They have gone too and become extinct
Probably to far off places and in interior districts
Now villages too have adopted same way
Little trees and forest is done away
You find no crows, owls or eagles
Sky is seen barren and no formation of love triangles
Nature has turned off its kind eye
Not enough of birds could be seen to fly
Deforestation is on rise and on high side
Gap is apparent and looks very wide
We are doing enough of damage to wild culture
As if we have taken out right control for future
Who to be blamed for this outrageous act?
Earth has tolerated it but so far refused to react
Of late natural calamities are on rise
It may spring anytime big surprise
Large population insects and birds stay in forest
It is their birth place and permanent refuge for rest
We need not disturb ecological balance
Let each tree cut be replaced by more to make it dense
If nature survives we survive too
In defiance we fell apart and disintegrate too
No one can survive long its absence
Nature is our mother and real essence

In Karma The Price We Must Pay
Birds and arboreal animals need every bush and tree
When their homes are destroyed by humans they must fight for a new territory
And if in securing new homes they are unsuccessful they become homeless and slowly die
I speak a fact of Nature and Nature does not lie.
The wildlife where trees are removed must search for homes elsewhere
Others they must try for to dispossess one reason wild creatures are becoming rare
Is that their habitat is being destroyed due to human financial greed
That the root cause of species extinction leads to human kind is so sad to say indeed.
Humans wage war on their own kind and war on Nature as well
How this will affect future generations of humans only time alone will tell
That what we do to Nature to our own selves we do is true
Since from her we will receive the Karma the Karma we are due.
Birds and arboreal animals need trees to live on and when their trees are cut away
They will have to fight for homes elsewhere since where they are they cannot stay
What goes around always comes around as some do like to say
And for our abuse of Nature in Karma the price we must pay.

You Are The Eyes Of The Words
hey, you are what they call
the eyes of the words,
seeing thoughts and traveling
the paths of feelings,
beyond this place the trees
and beyond the trees the forests
and beyond the forests the hills
and horizons beyond ourselves
our souls,
i am fixed
on the fetters of my flesh.
hey, you are what they call the eyes
of the yes,
the serious seer of my truths,
humanity's homunculus
hey, you are what they trusted,
the eyes of the world, the word beyond the whorled,
tell me, please tell me,
what do you see inside my eyes?
what is the color of pain?

Sonnet: Grow Trees
The branches cut the wind fierce to a breeze;
The leaves break sunlight into chequered beams;
The shade of trees affords all travelers peace;
The wearied ones sleep ’neath the trees in dreams!
And birds too build their nests on branches high;
The squirrels eat their berries with great joy;
The trees make verdant all landscape near-by;
And attract rain in which children enjoy!
Trees make the earth greener and beautiful,
Adding oxygen to the air we breathe;
Preserve its trees, man! Nature is grateful;
The leaves and flowers can make us a wreath.
Trees are so useful to mankind always;
’midst good trees, men have spent their earthly days!

Forests of the Heart
Deep within the forests of the heart,
Resides a town lit by fireflies.
Dwellings built within the trees,
All beneath the starry skies.
Homely lights amongst the foliage,
Bridges and ladders a plenty.
Rustling leaves cure the soul,
As the beams creak gently.
Hark, the herald sparrow sings!
It twitters from Oak's limb.
The river gurgles round the bend,
And along it the fish do swim.
But with the song of the stream,
comes the whisper of the trees.
With the tale of the undergrowth,
Comes the ballad of the breeze.
The moonlight reaches the forest floor,
To show the fairies atop the stools.
With leaves for their rowboats,
They sail across the silver pools.
Deep within the forests of the heart,
Resides a town lit by fireflies.
Dwellings built within the trees,
All beneath the starry skies.

Whose Fault?
Drilling the bark happily singing too.
Cutting the trunk happily singing too.
Bark to bark the wood-pecker goes.
Next and next the cutting he does.
Happy bird turns into a crying struggler
Victorious cutter is still happier
The deprived bird and the slain trees
Throw a curse over the man for no life.
There happens a turn of drought
On the land forests being totally without.
No rain and life becomes lifeless.
Man preys on even beasts
Beastlike himself indeed, the wild
Cuts down his own race - be it old or child
Mother or other brutally killed and preyed
The land wounded with ichor oozing
Putrid stink everywhere nauseating
Soil becoming rusted with blood
Mother Earth to burst now of whose fault?

Death Of The Trees
My town is a place where
The rich tourists come,
With mountains and rivers
That glint in the sun!
Luxuriant beaches
Of ivory sand,
But all the jade forests
Now no longer stand!
There once were lush jungles
That grew dense and tall,
But woodcutters came when
The town was still small...
They hacked all the trees down
And shipped them away,
In huge merchant vessels
That sailed to the bay!
They went back to Europe
With precious hard woods,
Sold it as furniture
And other fine goods...
I wish I could travel
In time to the day
Before people cleared all
The forests away!
I wish I had seen them
Before settlers came,
The mountains and rivers
May still be the same...
Iron, Yellow, Black Wood
And most of all trees,
Don't sway any more in
The fresh coastal breeze...
