Bible Stories: Job (Chapter XXVI)

Job Spoke Again And Said:

How do you help the weak from harm?
How do you strengthen weak an arm?
How counsel you as if unwise?
How profusely do you advice?

In terror writhe the shades beneath,
And so do people and waters;
His thunder-like rebuke stuns them;
In ways untold, all He batters.

Stark-naked lies the nether world;
Uncovered stays Abaddon old;
The north is stretched in empty space;
The earth hangs without any base!

He binds the waters within clouds,
And yet, their weight can’t rent their shrouds;
He spreads the clouds to veil the moon
That’s full and bright, yet, covered soon;

Darkness and light can’t mix in deep;
His voice quakes Heaven’s pillars steep;
He stirs the sea by His power,
And crushes Rahab like flower.

Scatters waters, His angry breath
Hurls lightning on them ’neath!
His anger is so relentless;
He holds the dragon in harness.

These are but samples of His ways;
How faintly man hears what He says!
With whose help utter you such word?
Does not your breath come from the Lord?

Genesis BK III

(ll. 135-143) The day departed, hasting over the dwellings of
earth. And after the gleaming light the Lord, our maker, thrust
on the first of evenings. Murky gloom pressed hard upon the
heels of day; God called it night. Our Lord sundered them, one
from the other; and ever since they follow out the will of God to
do it on the earth.

(ll. 143-153) Then came a second day, light after darkness. And
the Lord of life ordained a pleasant firmament amid the waters.
Our Lord sundered the seas and established the heavens. By His
word the King, Almighty God, raised them above the earth. The
waters were divided under the heavens by His holy might; the
waters were sundered from the waters, under the firmament.

(ll. 154-168) Then came hasting over the earth the third fair
morning. Not yet were the wide ways and spacious tracts useful
unto God, but the land lay covered by the deep. The Lord of
angels, by His word, commanded that the waters come together,
which now beneath the heavens hold their course and place
ordained. Then suddenly, wide-stretching under heaven, lay the
sea, as God gave bidding. The great deep was sundered from the
land. The Warden of life, the Lord of hosts, beheld the dry
ground far outspread. And the King of glory called it earth.
For the ocean-billows and the wide-flung sea He set a lawful path
and lettered them....

In the beginning

In the beginning
God looked at the dark void
and His voice structured
the universe and the sun, moon,
stars and the earth appeared.

There was no more void
and the breath from God
went out as His voice
that cleft the waters
and the deep
and there was no more continual darkness
and light broke
the everlasting night
and the waters parted
and sky and land appeared.

God created plants and vegetation
and animals and all
living things,
but with His hands
God formed man
and his mate
and build them in His image
and gave some
of His own breath
to them
to make them living.

Innumerable

His voice thrunders,
His sneeze flashes light,
His eyes are like the eyelids of the dawn,
His fire is lightning!
His limits are higher than the heavens and,
Deeper than the graves;
He is beyond comprehension,
His age is innumerable,
He is beyond our understanding,
His thunder anounces His coming,
But can we understand how He spread out the clouds?
And no man can look directly at the sun!
He does great things that we cannot comprehend,
His breath gives the ice and the broad waters are frozen at once!
But stop and consider the wondrous works of the Almighty! !
For everythin under the heaven belongs to Him.
He stirs up the sea like a pot of an ointment,
And the works of His fingers framed the sun, the moon, the stars and,
All that is in the universe!
His eyes see all things,
And He tests all mankind! !
For he is righteous and He loves righteousness;
And in His honour is life forever.

Twinkling Waters

Sitting on a bench
watching the twinkling waters
catching the light of the sun
like a thousand stars
in a nighttime sky.
Birds occasionally skim
across the twinkling waters
under the midday sun.
The world is at peace here
for every mother's son.
A breath of breeze
stirs gently the trees
and the twinkling waters
that are caressed by the sun.

The Ocean

They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters, these see the works of the Lord, and his wonders in the deep.

~ Psalm cvii. 23, 24.

HE that in venturous barks hath been
A wanderer on the deep,
Can tell of many an awful scene,
Where storms for ever sweep.

For many a fair, majestic sight
Hath met his wandering eye,
Beneath the streaming northern light,
Or blaze of Indian sky.

Go! ask him of the whirlpool's roar,
Whose echoing thunder peals
Loud, as if rushed along the shore
An army's chariot wheels;

Of icebergs, floating o'er the main,
Or fixed upon the coast,
Like glittering citadel or fane,
'Mid the bright realms of frost;

Of coral rocks, from waves below
In steep ascent that tower,
And fraught with peril, daily grow,
Formed by an insect's power;

Of sea-fires, which at dead of night
Shine o'er the tides afar,
And make th' expanse of ocean bright
As heaven, with many a star.

Oh God! thy name they well may praise,
Who to the deep go down,
And trace the wonders of thy ways,
Where rocks and billows frown.

If glorious be that awful deep,
No human power can bind,
What then art Thou, who bidst it keep
Within its bounds confined!

Let heaven and earth in praise unite,
Eternal praise to Thee,
Whose word can rouse the tempest's might,
Or still the raging sea!

Genesis BK II

ll. 82-91) The citizens of heaven, the home of glory, dwelt
again in concord. Strife was at an end among the angels, discord
and dissension, when those warring spirits, shorn of light, were
hurled from heaven. Behind them stretching wide their mansions
lay, crowned with glory, prospering in grace in God's dominion, a
sunny, fruitful land, empty of dwellers, when the accursed
spirits reached their place of exile within Hell's prison-walls.

(ll. 92-102) Then our Lord took counsel in the thoughts of His
heart how He might people, with a better host, the great
creation, the native seats and gleaming mansions, high in heaven,
wherefrom these boastful foes had got them forth. Therefore with
mighty power Holy God ordained, beneath the arching heavens, that
earth and sky and the far-bounded sea should be established,
earth-creatures in the stead of those rebellious foes whom He had
cast from heaven.

(ll. 103-119) As yet was nought save shadows of darkness; the
spacious earth lay hidden, deep and dim, alien to God, unpeopled
and unused. Thereon the Steadfast King looked down and beheld
it, a place empty of joy. He saw dim chaos hanging in eternal
night, obscure beneath the heavens, desolate and dark, until this
world was fashioned by the word of the King of glory. Here first
with mighty power the Everlasting Lord, the Helm of all created
things, Almighty King, made earth and heaven, raised up the sky
and founded the spacious land. The earth was not yet green with
grass; the dark waves of the sea flowed over it, and midnight
darkness was upon it, far and wide.

(ll. 119-134) Then in radiant glory God's holy spirit moved upon
the waters with wondrous might. The Lord of angels, Giver of
life, bade light shine forth upon the spacious earth. Swiftly
was God's word fulfilled; holy light gleamed forth across the
waste at the Creator's bidding. Over the seas the Lord of
victory divided light from darkness, shadow from radiant light.
The Lord of life gave both a name. By the word of God the
gleaming light was first called day. And in the beginning of
creation was God well pleased. The first day saw the dark and
brooding shadows vanish throughout the spacious earth.

Psalm 61

From the north and south I will cry to you
Lead me to the Rock that is higher than I
When my heart is overwhelmed and waters cover me
And it seems that I must surely die

From the east and the west I will cry to you
Shelter me from the storm I plea
When the dark clouds come and threaten to consume
O Lord shine your light on me

From the bottom of my heart I will cry to you
I will abide in the shelter of your wings
When the thunder roars and the lightning flashes
Forever your praises I shall sing

In all the earth I shall praise the Lord
For you are my strong high tower
No violent seas nor raging storms
Can match your mighty power

In The Shallow Waters

to the geese
all waters are shallow

does one always have
to be on top
of the deep
silent waters?

to fathom the deep
and be the deep
itself
engrossed to the wisdom
of its secrets
and wallow
in the enigma
of the anonymous
or the unknown paths
breathless

there is a time to be
not ourselves
and we take chances on the
shallow waters

in there we are not fishers
of men
or women or anything
we wade and relax
waters covering half our bodies

half-truths
you must see and feel
trivial as they are
they make us
so light like cotton
or silk flowing on our skins

like clouds
we float and drift and go anywhere
i felt it once
oh, so nice temporarily but at the end

it haunts me.
for it is not me and it can never be me.

i am matter, i have weight and i sink
to the bottom
to the deepest secrets of my truths

if i drown at least, i have my graveyard
ready.

Aurora Borealis

    A crystallization of color spreads from the upper regions of the dark sky towards the trembling nipples of the waves. The feathering fringes of clouds fade behind pillars of green light. Transparent curtains tremble every-where. In the arctic temple, the hidden Samson of light shakes the moon-green pillars of the night.
    Color these crystals with sudden blood; it is dawn, or else the last consumptive saliva of the dying day. Heartless hard light!
    In the crisp light of the frozen tinkling stars, no waters flow. The ice-stars are icebergs in this black ocean. When the green glass cathedrals crash, the light and the pillars of light and the green pillars of moon-green crystallized light are reflected through space and finally settle like sharp blades above the trembling nipples of the waves.
    Samson moves in the glass cathedrals. Samson and the bull and Samson and the sun and the sun is the bull and Samson is the sun and is the bull.
    Let crackling twigs of green-white light weave fantastic tree-patterns on the mirror of the sea. Let the deceptive sky celebrate the fall of its ice-cathedrals and its icebergs and its ice-stars when darkness hardens the black waters into the sullen black ice-pack of night.
    Red Samson the arctic red sun is moving in the groves of green pillars. There is the red tinge of consumptive blood flickering behind the moon-green glass pillars of light. Blood of red Samson, red blood of Samson, the red thief is sprinkling blood on the slanting pillars of the falling sanctuary of light that is doomed to succumb soon to the black ice-pack of night. Then there will be night and, suddenly thrust into dark night, the red sex of the Samson-sun must later rise out of eastern whiteness and destroy the night.
    Then the pillars of the black shattered temple of night glow with a white light and a red light of consumptive blood, but again later comes night then again the same Samson as the temples crash each time when the red thief scatters blood on the pillars of the light or the pillars of the night. And the thief is Samson and the red sun is Samson and Samson is the thief and Samson is the sun.

Psalm 33 part 1

Works of creation and providence.

Rejoice, ye righteous, in the Lord,
This work belongs to you;
Sing of his name, his ways, his word,
How holy, just, and true!

His mercy and his righteousness
Let heav'n and earth proclaim;
His works of nature and of grace
Reveal his wondrous name.

His wisdom and almighty word
The heav'nly arches spread,
And by the Spirit of the Lord
Their shining hosts were made.

He bid the liquid waters flow
To their appointed deep;
The flowing seas their limits know,
And their own station keep).

Ye tenants of the spacious earth,
With fear before him stand
He spake, and nature took its birth,
And rests on his command.

He scorns the angry nations' rage,
And breaks their vain designs;
His counsel stands through every age,
And in full glory shines.

Night, on the Sea-shore

I have fled from all, and none can now

My way, my wanderings see;

The waters widely round me flow—

I feel that I am free!

Oh! who can wish for sunny day,
When they may look on that lovely ray—
On the moon so pure, so clear, and fair,
When no human form is nigh,
When no human voice can startle the air?
All is silence and secrecy.

No sound but the waters, that, murmuring, move—
No light but the shadowless orb above.
But see! the shadows are gathering fast—
The clear bright orb is gone:
Alas! no beauty can ever last,
That e'er I gaze upon!

The waters that sparkled so bright before
Now moan alone the gloomy shore;
And all is dark—as the fate will be
That spreads its cheerless path for me!

The Calm Before The Flood

Mabool (The Flood)

Translation:
And, behold, I, do bring a flood of waters upon
the land, to destroy all flesh,
wherein is the breath fo life,
from under heaven, and every thing that is in the
land shall dieand I shall wipe away
the world I created upon the land.
May the lord eternal save his troubled child
As he passes through rain and storm
Behind the walls of this hallowed ark of wood
Our prophets found a revelation, which they have understood
Onto the lands of fearful heaven comes a flood erasing all
Landing as if a ruthless bird of pray to crush all human souls
The lightning colors the sky with flames of light
Hell shines above us and fires bright
Erasing the worksof the common man, all we hold dear is set alight
???? ??? ????? ?? ??????? ???? ???
??????? ????? ?????...

Translation: In the seventh day of the month, the same day were all the fountains
of the great deep broken up and the windows of heaven had opened
And the waters of the flood, were upon the land
Shattered glass reflects this shattered world, barren is the landscape here
Thunder roars as a lion caged, heat that comes like waves of fear
Oceans rise and rage as we watch the world powers fall
Redeeming their sinful ways with their souls
May the truth fill their hearts, let them see the light, when they embrace their gods
???? ???? ??? ?????...

Translation: and the face of the land was dead
Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed.
Seas cover the works of timeless art
That once brought joy to human hearts
In halls of infamy this day shall live
Like the burning of Rome and betrayal of Eve
Like the fire raised at the witches' stakes
Return all earthly possessions
As ashes you return to earth, child of God, to face the divine lord who sits upon the throne eyes sad
Go in peace and find thy faith
Evolve thy self and lose all hate
So a heaven you may creat
In this world of sorrowful ways
None shall live to see the light of day
Some may survive to tell this tale
If their belife shall conquer this gale
Damnation is the punishment bestowed

Psalm 77 part 2

Comfort derived from ancient providences.

"How awful is thy chast'ning rod!"
May thy own children say:
"The great, the wise, the dreadful God!
How holy is his way !"

I'll meditate his works of old,
The King that reigns above;
I'll hear his ancient wonders told,
And learn to trust his love.

Long did the house of Joseph lie
With Egypt's yoke oppressed;
Long he delayed to hear their cry,
or gave his people rest.

The sons of good old Jacob seemed
Abandoned to their foes;
But his almighty arm redeemed
The nation that he chose.

Isr'el, his people and his sheep,
Must follow where he calls;
He bade them venture through the deep,
And made the waves their walls.

The waters saw thee, mighty God!
The waters saw thee come;
Backward they fled, and frighted stood,
To make thine armies room.

Strange was thy journey through the sea
Thy footsteps, Lord, unknown;
Terrors attend the wondrous way
That brings thy mercies down.

[Thy voice, with terror in the sound,
Through clouds and darkness broke;
All heav'n in lightning shone around,
And earth with thunder shook.

Thine arrows through the skies were hurled;
How glorious is the Lord!
Surprise and trembling seized the world,
And his own saints adored.

He gave them water from the rock,
And safe, by Moses' hand,
Through a dry desert led his flock
Home to the promised land.]

Shrouded In Mystery

The morning sun, clothed in clouds, is one of God’s striking shrouds,
Just as God’s shrouded in light, impenetrable by the darkest of night,
Unapproachable as He may be, He’s God of the present and Eternity,
Being a God, that we cannot see, He shrouds life, at times in mystery.

At times God moves in our days, for His purpose in mysterious ways,
For God’s shrouded in mystery, while working in lives, of you and me,
As the secret tings belong to God, Who reigns above this earthly sod,
In ways, we could not comprehend, for above us, His ways transcend.

But all things done for me and you, the Good Lord will see us through,
Through every trial that we will face, God will shroud us with His Grace,
And blessings The Lord will bestow, upon us in ways we’d never know,
As The Lord works in mysterious ways, unto our Lord, we lift all praise.

For we are shrouded in the Blood, of God’s Son, sent for us with love.
Sent to The Cross of Mount Calvary, to be a sacrifice, for you and me,
And today that blood, spilt by Him, covers not some, but all of our sin,
For The Savior alone paid the price, so we could be His living sacrifice.

Christ came to earth, to die for us, now we live our life for Christ Jesus,
To serve our Lord in this present time, for a purpose that is truly divine,
And Christ shall remove many shrouds, when we see Him in the clouds,
When Christ returns for you and me, we’ll serve our Lord, for all eternity.

Sea of Darkness

I dreamt of water.
All night, a sea was before me.
Endless waters were all I saw.
I drink of it's waters; it fills the emptiness.

I see the skies open up,
the brilliance of a quasar shining down.
Somehow, I'm told to walk into encircling waters,
and it engulfs the little island.

The waters proceed to turn black,
a darkness spreads throughout.
It infects the entire planet.

Neptune's moons are like ours,
only they have scars and faces,
their mouths stitched.

Saturn and Uranus are in the sky,
beginning to weep.
The Moving Star comes down,
with the raiment of mortal man.
He shines like a shadow of the mighty quasar.

Trying to tell me,
his voice is masked my nightmares held at bay.
A wind comes from the north
and it blows him away like ashes.

A glorious sylph, radiating white light,
turns toward me.
I can only see a faint smile.
She explodes into a whisper of shadows,
singing a requiem of dirges.

Night

Earth! thou art lovely, when the sinking sun
Hath bathed the clouds in his departing flush,
And, with the moon-lit evening, hath begun
The voiceless, and yet spirit-calming hush,
That thrills around the heart, till tear-drops rush,
Unbidden and uncall'd for, to the eye;
When, save the music of the fountain's gush,
Or the far wailing of the night-bird's cry,
Unbroken silence hangs o'er earth, and wave, and sky.

But now the majesty of midnight storm
Is gathering, in its grandeur, o'er the sky;
The deep black clouds in mustering squadrons form,
And the low, fitful blast, that passes by,
Hath a strange fearful thrilling—like the sigh
Of a sick slumberer; even that hath died,
And in their quiet sleep the waters lie,
As though the winds ne'er curl'd them in its pride,
Or shook the still bent leaves that hang above the tide.

How steadily that ebon mass moves on!
Stretching across the sky in one dark line,
Like a huge wall of blackness; there do none
Of the thin silvery vapours hang supine,
Or those bright clouds that sometimes seem to twine
A coronal to grace the brow of night;
Stars in Orion's studded baldric shine,
In all their wonted brightness; and the light
Of an unclouded moon half dims the dazzled sight.

The tempest hurries onward—how the flash
Of the red lightning leaps from cloud to cloud!
The gathering thunder bursts in one wild crash,
And sinks a moment—then, returning loud,
Seems bounding o'er the sky, as if 't were proud
Of its own potency. We need not now,
A sharer in the thoughts that round us crowd;
The soul is its own world, and the deep glow
Of the rapt spirit seeks no fellowship below.

The wildness of the storm hath pass'd; the rain
Drips from the wet leaves only, and the sky,
With its deep azure beauty, gleams again
Through the rent clouds; the sunken wind swells by,
With a low sobbing; and the clouds, heap'd high,
With the rich moonbeams’ streaming flood of light
Pour'd full upon them, swell before the eye
Like distant snow-clad mountains. Night! O night!
Thou art most glorious! most beautifully bright!

Healing Waters

When all the hope is gone, Ill be there to keep you strong
I will lay your body down in healing waters
Turn this darkness into light, help you stand, Ill help you fight
But dont ever let them break your spirit
Chorus:
And have faith, (a light will shine on you) and someday a light will shine on you
Then I will lay your body down in healing waters
I will lead you down to healing waters
When you cry out to the moon, Ill be there beside you
I wont let these shadows reach into your heart
Raise up the spirit of kings, let the bells of freedom ring
Dont ever let them put out this fire
And have faith, (a light will shine on you) and someday a light will shine on you
Then I will lay your body down in healing waters
And have faith, (oh have faith) and someday the sun will break on through
Then I will lay your body down in healing waters
All your troubles, oh they will be over
(guitar solo)
Dont ever let them break your spirit
And have faith, (oh have faith) and someday a light will shine on you
And I will lay your body down in healing waters
And have faith, and someday the sun will break on through
And I will lay your body down in healing waters
I will walk you down to healing waters
All your troubles, they will be over, and well never ever, wont give up
(lay your body down, lay your body down)
Healing waters (lay your body down, lay your body down)
Healing waters (lay your body down, lay your body down)
Healing waters (lay your body down)
Healing waters (lay your body down)
Healing waters (lay your body down)...

Five Images

I
A naked body
bronze as the sun
poises against the sky
to dive,
then flings his form
into the tide,
parting waters
without a splash,
like the day sliding
beneath the sky.

II
The day is sliding
beneath the sky,
slipping away soundlessly,
like a diver
parting waters without a splash.

III
The bronze that tanned his body
slips below the lip of earth,
as bit by bit blue turns to gray;
And the sea darkens as it swallows
the single diver and the sun.

IV
The day drains
beneath the sky
as the lip of earth
fuses with and enters
the blue-gray parted waters
of the eastern sky,
and stars bit by bit
find their light.

V
The sun beneath the sky
so silently sank away,
I had not noticed its descent,
until I rubbed my eyed from strain
and turned on the light.

Beneath Still Waters

(dallas frazer)
Beneath still waters
Theres a strong undertow
The surface wont tell you
What the deep water knows
Darling, Im saying
I know somethings wrong
Beneath still waters
Your love is gone
Even a fool could see
That youll soon be leaving me
But each and every heart
Must take its turn at misery
And this time its me
And Ill cry alone
Beneath still waters
Your love is gone
Even a fool could see
That youll soon be leaving me
But each and every heart
Must take its turn at misery
And this time its me

Changing Days And Ways

One chilly start to this day, waiting for the sun's first ray,
As God above sends forth, the sun for light and warmth,
The sun is the larger light, to break darkness of the night,
Ordered by the Creator God, for daily light upon this sod.

In that sun produced light, we walk in ways deemed right,
Deemed right by the Creator, as men move to the Savior;
While in darkness evil men, go in ways God will condemn,
As they trip and spiritually fall, denying the Lord's over all.

At times the sun is hidden by, clouds which mask the sky,
Being covered by God's power, to provide man a shower;
But, with dark clouds overhead, it's harsh weather instead,
When heavy rains are poured, upon the earth, by The Lord.

Even as the seasons change, it gets cold but light remains,
While the fields receive their rest, we enter into winter's test,
When the summer rain we know, may turn into ice and snow,
Making travel hectic friend, but, that season has too an end.

God who makes all the change, up above remains the same,
A loving God, but man must, understand that He is also just,
Wanting us to leave our dark sin, while we truly embrace Him,
Moving into the light of Christ, through salvation into new life.
