100 days as Medical College Dean (B)
And Lo! I am now here
Seated in the Dean’s chair,
Breathing unpolluted air;
Trying to be quite fair.
Sending occasional glare;
Sometimes, I am a hare;
But that happens quite rare;
There no time to stare.
There’s time not to nails pare;
There isn’t time for patients’ care;
I work for everyone’s welfare;
I use not lift but stair.
There is so much to do;
There are many to woo;
Expecting my Waterloo,
I work hard and pray too.
This is so different;
This job is interesting;
So full of challenges;
I love to fight and win.
I’ve cut my foes to size;
I will be always nice;
I avoid every vice;
This isn’t like playing dice.
Some try to me entice;
I’m cautious and wise;
I take new enterprise;
I hate hearing white lies.
I try to help a lot;
I refuse to be bought;
Some try to have me caught;
‘Wars’ many, I’ve fought.
From God, zeal I’ve got;
The clime is pretty hot;
Yet, I’m a mere clay-pot!
And I must not ev’r rot.

My Clinic
My clinic is a ‘church’ in which I pray;
Not many patients flock in anyway;
Some rosaries I manage to well say;
This keeps both devils and my foes away.
The ones that come are poorer than they seem;
‘The rich in cars come only in my dream.’
Most patients brush their teeth with only neem;
My words of solace make their faces gleam.
So, can I fleece my brethren poor and ill?
Can I then hand them inflated a bill?
Can I charge them for just a sample pill?
They live despite the doctor’s care by ‘will! ’
I long to see more patients but be wise;
I dare not try to anyway entice;
My profession is sacrosanct and nice;
I cannot let it turn into a vice!
The only thing I hate is waste my time;
The other thing I hate’s a rainy clime;
But everyday, I write aplenty rime;
I never mind if I earn just a dime!
I scooter daily not more than a mile;
I feel so happy seeing patients smile;
Becoming rich is not my beloved style;
My heart abounds with joy when poor souls file.
When will my practice pick up? - I don’t know;
To God, my art of healing, I just owe;
Rewards in heaven wait for righteous, oh!
To ways God makes me walk, I say not, ‘No! ’

Just a Song!
I rock in a chair,
In a room all bare,
With my unkempt hair,
Without any care!
I breathe dirty air,
Dressed in summer-wear,
Attempting to pare
My nails as I stare!
Oh, What if I dare
To run like a hare
Or walk like a bear
Or charge like a mare!

Happy Doctor's Day,2012! ' Let All Indians Say Today
Respect the white coat that all doctors wear;
Respect the stethoscope with which they hear;
Respect the prescriptions they write and tear;
Respect all doctors for they truly care!
To treat diseases, some doctors do dare;
They try their best for all patients to fare;
Some of them are doyens, pioneers rare;
Some do miraculous feats, at which all stare!
Wish doctors all, ‘A Happy Doctors Day! '
Thank them for their hard work and pray today;
Remember, they keep diseases at bay;
Most doctors do their jobs in noble way!

Macedonia
Stare, bare, ware, mare, care, fare, hare, pare, rare, tare;
And, trying to see beyond!
But, i have something to tell you,
And like your muse in the land of Macedonia.
Blair, chair, air, fair, stair, hair, lair, flair, wheelchair, pair;
You just don't know it because, you can't get there!
And like this girl on the wheelchair.
Wheel, feel, steel, reel, peel, creel, heel!
And to meet with you;
But in six days time you will understand my mind,
For the actions of your love are now recorded.

Sonnet: Our Institution- a Poet’s Desire
How nice if this place wonderful could turn,
Into a haven and Heaven to all!
Its employees in unison could call,
‘We will toil, ’ ‘the mid-night oil, we will burn! ’
How nice if people give up corruption,
At every level in the family;
And work better with greater harmony,
Forget the past; have rededication.
How nice if management should realize
Staff, students, patients’ welfare- it’s secret;
That, doctors, nurses are not as bad as yet,
There’s still hope but ’tis not a game of dice.
Let bad influences vanish from the scene,
And Labor/ Love/ Justice be our new Dean!

The Medical Profession
Awards, rewards cannot suffice,
A doctor's life's mere sacrifice;
A unique, prolonged enterprise,
For which he's praised or pays the price!
Nevertheless, the work is nice;
But he must learn to keep off vice;
From other's faults, becoming wise,
Money must never him entice!
From start to end, it is sheer toil;
He always burns the mid-night oil;
His character, conduct shouldn't spoil;
He learns patience and not to boil!
He must heed to his conscience;
He is a man who dwells in science;
He ought to keep his ethics good,
And love his duty, brotherhood!
God is the Healer in essence;
Doctors are souls in quintessence;
His craft and art need common-sense;
The stress and strain shouldn't make him tense!
Respect the doctor for his job;
To pay Paul, he may Peter, rob;
The world can't thrive without doctors;
He faces challenging factors.
But God is by his side always;
Through perils, strife, he passes days;
And satisfaction becomes base
That goads him do well in each case!
The world must thank doctors, like God;
May they live long sans any rod;
They slog to maintain patients' health;
Doctors are nation's priceless wealth!
"Happy Doctor's Day,2012! "

Doctor, You Must Beware!
Doctor, do you play God?
Your work is but slip-shod;
Patients call you just sod;
Are you a demi-god?
You care for lives galore,
Or waste your time sea-shore;
You work like a bee-hive;
If not, patients’ lives nose-dive!
Lives lie in your skill’d hand;
You wave a magic-wand;
You can postpone their death,
But not for long, I bet!
You may advise others
On health aspects, brothers;
Modern day stress can kill
And make anyone ill.
Moderation’s the best;
Common-sense makes up the rest;
Prudence is much better;
Spirit does too matter.
What the use if you can save
A hundred lives but rave?
For more is being lost
And none can afford the cost!
When wealth, you had sought,
A car, a house, you bought;
Had children and a wife,
Spared no time for own life!
You ate sans exercise;
Then came sudden demise;
You must forget your lands;
Your life is in God’s Hands!

I Don't Wanna Work
Well i give it little care
Does anybody out there even know
I'm in here?
I just keep my movement going
Somewhere
Like playing in the background baby
Like playing in the background baby
I play the game
You play the way that most men would choose
I'm surprised at you
Way back in the middle of a broken down love affair
You and i found each other
And we fell in love
I ain't never met a man and woman get along better
Than you and i when get together
Still i say
I don't wanna work that hard
I don't wanna work that hard
Don't wanna work that hard
I don't wanna work that hard
Don't wanna work that hard
I don't wanna work that hard
Not if it makes me cry
No no
See the lady walking down the street
She's got on high heel shoes
And her hair full of curlers
She's got stiletto nails
And some black mascara
She's got a push up and a pick up
I tell you that girl's working overtime
I don't wanna work that hard
I don't wanna work that hard
I don't wanna work that hard
Don't wanna work that hard
I don't wanna work that hard
Not if it makes me cry
No no no no no no
I don't wanna work
I don't wanna work that hard
I don't wanna work it if makes me cry
Spent last night
Talking to myself in bed
Wondering why i do this over
Over and over again
I don't know
I, i, i, i don't wanna work that hard
I don't wanna work that hard
Not when it makes me cry
I don't wanna work that hard
I don't wanna work not that hard
I don't wanna work it it makes me cry
I don't wanna work that hard
I don't wanna work not that hard
I don't wanna work if it makes me cry

How to Pray?
Pray incessantly;
Pray most fervently;
Pray with all your heart;
God will do His part!
Pray most sensibly;
Pray most effectively;
Pray deep from your heart;
Pray as if an art!
Pray for prolonged time;
Pray in any clime;
Pray by singing rhymes;
God’s answers chime!
Pray in holy place;
Pray with heav’nly gaze;
Pray for human race;
Pray in many ways.
Let prayers rise up high;
Let prayers pierce the sky;
Let prayers touch God’s heart,
As blessings divine start!

100 days as Medical College Dean (D)
My anger is all gone;
I am not just alone;
It is a newer dawn
That I see every morn!
My friends may turn now foes;
And add to my new woes;
With foes as friends, life goes;
I have little resource!
To me all are equal;
‘None are perfect, ’ I tell;
Sometimes, I do well yell,
Ask them to go to hell!
The poor shouldn’t stay so poor!
They must be given care;
I pray for their welfare;
But I’m just ‘earthen-ware’!
I think about my past,
The days I was downcast;
Time elapses so fast;
I unfurl the flag atop the mast!
Life appears to be fine,
With pleasant, warm sunshine;
The water looks like brine,
And I don’t drink wine.
But can I achieve success?
It is a wild, wild guess;
I never like to fuss;
My life’s no more a mess!

Song to Grandpa on his Birthday
You are seventy-five,
Going on seventy-six!
Grandpa, ’tis time to rest.
Better avoid the scooty
And cycle;
Don’t you ev’r trip or fall!
You are quite aged,
Not young now;
Don’t do the things
you did;
Your bones are weaker,
Heart is much bigger;
You must just walk not run!
All will be fine if you just pray;
Let youngsters have their say;
Take care of your health,
And not your wealth;
God is your friend and way!

Life
We have to take some risks
To do some things in life;
We have to do some things,
Despite the added strife!
We have to weigh the risks
To benefits in each;
We can’t do things in haste
For aims in life to reach.
We cannot waste our time
God-given, precious-most;
Time is the same to all
To labor or is lost.
For everything in life,
We ought to make a start;
There is so much to do
Before we can depart.
A lazy-bone is one
Who never can find time;
We have to work all life
In any type of clime.
True greatness comes to few
Who struggle right from birth;
No one is born just great
But makes it upon earth!

To Nurses on Valentine’s Day,2011
Each one is my dear valentine;
Each unforgettable;
Like sun and moon, you ever shine,
You are admirable!
Just share your love with all brethren;
Your patients need much care;
By sharing love, earth turns heaven;
Then sufferings are rare!
You nightingales can sing good songs,
And make all dance to tune;
Nevertheless, avoid all wrongs;
To vice, become immune!
Give love to unwanted babies;
Comfort the dying ones;
Give ailing people, mental peace;
Let sweet words spill in tons!
Spread happiness in every way,
Be kind to all around;
Love cures more illnesses each day,
Like rain upon parched ground.
Dean has a place within his heart
For everyone of you;
In earthly life, just do your part;
Then success smiles on you.

What’s Luck?
Luck is something that comes, not so often;
Luck is an occurrence in life, quite rare;
Luck’s unpredictable phenomenon;
Luck is a devil that is rarely kind!
Luck’s the last thing one should ev’r depend on;
Luck cannot simply come to all always;
Luck can’t work magic without labor hard;
Luck is futile if basic things aren’t done.
Luck is a make-up that needs a good face;
Luck’s a pretty dame with contours and shape;
Luck is an element of great surprise;
Luck is not the usual way, world goes by!
Luck is the decoration on a cake;
Luck’s a factor that clicks for some at times;
Luck isn’t the first thing, we trust any time;
Perseverance is key to success prime.

To People in High Public Office…
Keep God as first: All things will fall in line!
Keep health second and earthly life is fine;
Keep labor third; hard-work gives success prime;
Keep truth as fourth: wealth will perish with time!
Work for the nation and your fellow-men;
Work for the upliftment of all brethren;
Work zealously: don’t steal from men, women:
Remember your account-day to heaven!
Just keep the code that God has set for all;
Sins of all kinds become a mighty wall;
Corruption is your ‘cancer’ without cure;
Accountable is everyone for sure.
Don’t kill a human being unjustly;
Don’t use your ‘high-office’ much selfishly;
Let vice not rule your body, heart and mind;
Live by your conscience: all joys you’ll find!

The World Needs Peace, Not Through Wars!
What loss of lives and destruction!
Can lives all lost ever return?
How many more will have to die?
Can one man’s death bring back lives lost?
What pollution, a war can add!
Let Cats who declare wars on mice,
Take the blame and pay the price!
War is a gambling game like dice;
War is a futile exercise.
One cannot fight wars with mere knives;
War is a waste of human lives;
Alas, will nations realize
That keeping peace is always wise?
Wars can begin without a cause;
The world can’t have a single boss!
One nation can’t stifle the rest,
Or try to be always the best.
The world body must give OK!
The world must say to wars, all ‘nay’;
For lasting peace, war isn’t the way!
The cost of wars, who will repay?
The world must find out other ways,
Avoiding wars in future days;
Each nation must unmask its face,
And set on peace, its gaze always!

100 days as Medical College Dean (A)
A hundred days have gone off
With me as Dean – I laugh;
I love my every staff
My anger, I now quaff!
The work is tough and dreary;
But I am never weary;
And I can never hurry;
My life has become starry!
I don’t know where to I head;
I’m happy mostly instead;
But it was all from my God
This seems a blessing / rod.
I have no other go
Than labor for friend and foe;
The work is lovely, oh!
Unlike one with a hoe.
Taking charge as Dean,
Busy, I have been;
Work of God’s Hand unseen;
My life has turned serene!
October 13th day,
2008, I say;
I heard the news that may
Change my earthly way.
I’d prayed a lot to Al-
Mighty give me the new call;
My duty is to all;
No more will I ev’r fall!
Befitting was I, I asked?
To God I prayed and prayed;
But fit, God me had made
With glory not to fade!
But in case, I was not,
To make me fit, God ought.
This was my only thought;
As God I fully sought!

Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa)
Not all on earth can get awards;
Not all deserving, get applause;
Not all afford to get rewards;
Few get honoured for great a cause!
But when a doctor gets honour,
For life-time work, a noble cause,
The fraternity thank donor,
For choosing him/her as the boss!
The joy of getting rare awards
May not long last in noble hearts;
But will be theme for mighty bards
To sing in praise of God and arts!
Great minds and hearts can never pause
To serve mankind in need, always!
No prize is worth a worthy cause;
A doctor’s service priceless, stays.
Congrats Dr. G.B., Chairman and Managing Trustee,

for achieving this rare distinction!

Sonnet: On Time-Management
Even a hundred years will not suffice
For man on earth to do things tangible!
For priceless time cannot be bought for a price,
And the Tempter finds man most gullible.
One-third of life-span goes away in sleep!
One-half of day, in learning, working goes;
Rest of the time for personal jobs, men keep;
For other things, man is upon his toes!
Time's the restraint for man's achievements then;
Time is not to be wasted anytime;
Value of time when realized by men,
Helps man to soar the skies in any clime!
The man who finds the time for everything
Is upon earth, a leader, ruler, king!

Sonnet: Spare Us Sinners, God…
Whatever sins, our ancestors had done,
God, spare our future generations, please:
From strife and death by famine, wars and sun;
Open your heart of kindness and give peace.
Whatever sins, our children try to do,
Despite our warning them not to; O Lord,
Forgive them and withhold your just rod too:
They know not how sins offend you, O God.
O God of mercy and infinite love,
Ignore our trespasses, bestow your grace;
Our sincere repentance, help us to prove;
From devils’ hands, protect the human race!
The world today is full of sin and vice;
Help us to avoid sin and be soul-wise.
