I am that king of sorrow
Who owns no hope
For a better tomorrow
We all live and die in sorrow,
Dear Christ, it's you we follow.
If a life that I could borrow.

If I am privileged to meet with a president,
I would like to meet with Barack Obama,
And tell him how much I like his government.

Hopes And Fears
Scars not seen but they are there none the less
The scars are on my heart
The questions in my mind
I wonder if he knows how bad he hurt me

I'm so young and my baby girls will grow up in a time of war
I wonder if they will start another draft if this goes on much longer
I'm not a fighter
I don’t want to have to fight in a war that isn’t mine
I don’t want to die in a war of politics
I don’t want have to choose between my girls and my country
My girls win every time
I don’t want to have to flee my country and never be able to come back
I don’t want to use my girls as an excuse as why I don’t have any money
I don’t want to be on welfare
I don’t want to have to be dependent on a man
I don’t want to have to depend on any one but myself
I don’t want this life
I never have
I wonder if I was destined from the start to lead this life of heartache
I don’t want my girls to have a life like I did
But they are already on that road
I have deprived them of a father by not waiting

The Boys And Girls I Went To School With
The boys and girls I went to school with from me now far away
And even some of them not living now where the dead are they lay
And in distant flights of fancy I fancy I see them yet
And them I still remember and them I won't forget.
The boys and girls I went to school with the years have left them slow
And were I to meet them on the street perhaps them I''d not know
For the years they leave us looking older and there''s no turning back the hands of time
And those I went to school with like me now long past their prime.
Many of the boys and girls I went to school with live distant from Millstreet
And we well might be strangers now if by chance we did meet
In my mental pictures of them they have not aged a day
But reality is different and 'tis always been that way.
Many of the boys and girls I went to school with in Millstreet our Home -town
Have left that green old countryside where Finnow babbles down
For to join with the great Blackwater on it''s journey to the sea
Still their innocence and youthfulness will always be with me.
The changes keep on happening and nothing seems to last
Still we cling on to our memories and we can''t deny our past
And though we may now be strangers were we to meet again
The boys and girls I went to school with young in my thoughts remain.

I relate to your philosophies.
There is not need to rehash them.
Not with me.
I'd like to get beyond these acquisitions.
Renew our positions and sing new tunes.
With refreshed rhythms...
And adventures to meet and greet.

We have been sharing them all our lives.
How many times do we have to identify,
The world is round.
Or another dissatisfaction with life we have found.
There is something about the unknown I appreciate.
That makes me more aware of who I am.
But to eat and regurgitate the same thing fed...
Does not expand my understanding.
Or qualifies me to make demands.
I relate to your philosophies.
But constantly repeating the same point of view...
Has become quite boring to me.
