Hell

R. B. VAUGHN speaks:

“After so many years of pursuing the ideal
I came home. But I had caught sight of it.
You see it sometimes in the blue-silver wake
Of island schooners, bound for Anegada, say.
And it takes other forms. I saw it flickering once
In torches by the railroad tracks in Medellín.
When I was very young I thought that love would come
And seize and take me south and I would see the rose;
And that all ambiguities we knew would merge
Like orchids on a word. Say this:
I sought the immortal word.”
So saying he went on
To join those who preceded him;
and there were those that followed.

Today... 'The Word

Word of love and the Word made flesh
Word incarnate forever blessed
Word of life and the Word of light
Word of power and Word of might.

Word that was spoken, Word of the Lord
Word of the Law and the Word of God
Word of peace and Word eternal
Word of truth and last Word of all.

Word of wisdom and the Word of healing
Word from heaven, a Word so appealing
Word fulfilling the Word of prophecy
Word of the Spirit and Word of destiny.

Word of exhortation and Word of grace

Word of promise and a Word of insight

Word of the covenant and Word of love

Parting Words

When I go from hence
let this be my parting word,
that what I have seen is unsurpassable.

I have tasted of the hidden honey of this lotus
that expands on the ocean of light,
and thus am I blessed
---let this be my parting word.

In this playhouse of infinite forms
I have had my play
and here have I caught sight of him that is formless.

My whole body and my limbs
have thrilled with his touch who is beyond touch;
and if the end comes here, let it come
---let this be my parting word.

Home 2

Fair was the morning, fair our tempers, and
We had seen nothing fairer than that land,
Though strange, and the untrodden snow that made
Wild of the tame, casting out all that was
Not wild and rustic and old; and we were glad.

Fair too was afternoon, and first to pass
Were we that league of snow, next the north wind.

There was nothing to return for, except need,
And yet we sang nor ever stopped for speed,
As we did often with the start behind.
Faster still strode we when we came in sight
Of the cold roofs where we must spend the night.
Happy we had not been there, nor could be,
Though we had tasted sleep and food and fellowship
Together long.

'How quick', to someone's lip
The words came, 'will the beaten horse run home!'

The word 'home' raised a smile in us all three,
And one repeated it, smiling just so
That all knew what he meant and none would say.
Between three counties far apart that lay
We were divided and looked strangely each
At the other, and we knew we were not friends
But fellows in a union that ends
With the necessity for it, as it ought.

Never a word was spoken, not a thought
Was thought, of what the look meant with the word
'Home' as we walked and watched the sunset blurred.
And then to me the word, only the word,
'Homesick', as it were playfully occurred:
No more.

If I should ever more admit
Than the mere word I could not endure it
For a day longer: this captivity
Must somehow come to an end, else I should be
Another man, as often now I seem,
Or this life be only an evil dream.

The Word

Find the word, understand the word,
Depend on the word;
The word is heaven and space, the word the earth,
The word the universe.
The word is in our ears, the word is on our tongues,
The word the idol.
The word is the holy book, the word is harmony,
The word is music.
The word is magic, the word the Guru.
The word is the body, the word is the spirit, the word is being,
The word Not-being.
The word is man, the word is woman,
The Worshipped Great.
The word is the seen and unseen, the word is the existent
And the non-existent.
Know the word, says Kabir,
The word is All-powerful.

Too Young

Album:Unforgettable: With Love
Composers:Sylvia Dee and Sidney Lippman
They tried to tell us were too young
Too young to really be in love
They say that loves a word
A word weve only heard
But cant begin to know
The meaning of
And yet were not too young to know
This love will last though years may go
And then some day they may recall
We were not too young at all
And yet were not too young to know
That this love will last though years may go
And then some day they may recall
We were not too young at all

Thr Railroad Tracks

Who lived across the railroad tracks?
A few of us whites, but mostly blacks.
These railroad tracks without even knowing
separated my town and kept it growing
into a segregated place.

I used to listen for the sound of the train.
As it rolled on by, it would never remain.
It just kept rolling to where it was going.
The engineer waved. The smoke kept blowing
into a segregated place.

Even when the trains stopped the rolling
the tracks will still there. They were controlling
the thinking of the people in our town.
So they kept the tracks there, never tore them down
in our segregated place.

Some were on the right side of the tracks, you see.
Some were on the wrong side of the tracks, like me.
They never took the tracks down from 60 years ago.
And the town I grew up in doesn't want to know
it's a segregated place.

Old Man Took

For the last time
I watched old man took bait his hook
And then throw his line
Pick up his wine
Hes a friend of mine
Known him all my life and his wife
neath the swayin pine
And the clingin vine
Just before he left
He said now young man
Take good care dont let the bugs bite
Please make sure to say a word at night
For all your brothers feeling blue
Blue, blue, blue
All the time
So I stayed awhile
Took my tea alone, called it home
Like a playing child
Running wild
Heard a bluejay call
Said we got you now
Hope you bow
To the old mans word
Im sure you heard
Just before he left
He said now young man
Take good care dont let the bugs bite
Please make sure to say a word at night
For all your brothers feeling blue
Blue, blue, blue
All the time
Now young man
Take good care dont let the bugs bite
Please make sure to say a word at night
For all your brothers feeling blue
Feeling blue

Speak The Word

Unsettled hearts
Promise what they cant deliver
Bring me the wine
And the cold night air to clear my head
Gray matter memory house
Master of this trembling flesh
Steady still my doubts
Let me speak the word that precedes bliss
Let me speak the word
Let me speak the word
Love love love love love love love love
Let me speak the word
Let me speak the word
Love love love love love love love love
Let me speak the word
Let me speak the word
Let me speak the word
Let me speak the word
These weakened knees
Have not touched ground or pew in ages
I havent bowed my head
I offer thanks to any God or to ask for favors
But watch me now
Im falling down
Praying
To speak the word that precedes bliss
To speak the word
To speak the word
Love love love love love love love love
Let me speak the word
Let me speak the word
Love love love love love love love love
Let me speak the word
Let me speak the word
Let me speak the word
Let me speak the word

Blue Is Not A Word

(Jo-El Sonnier/Judy Ball)
I've never once in my life met someone like you
I don't know what the word blue means
As long as I'm with you
You fill me so completely through everything you do
Blue is not a word at all
As long as I'm with you
Most of the time in my past
Blue is all I knew
But now that we're together
O' how I love you
I'm so glad I've found you
You've made my dreams come true
Blue is not a word at all
As long as I'm with you
Most of the time in my past
Blue is all I knew
But now that we're together
O' how I love you
I'm so glad I've found you
You've made my dreams come true
Blue is not a word at all
As long as I'm with you

Real Love

How to say love?
How to see love?
or to seize love?
saying love u out of your lips
not the way to say love
say i love u in your heart
whom u love then they can hear
with their hearts
if u sees in your eyes
u still never see the real love
but with open heart
and open mind
if u accept the real light
then u can see the beauty
the beauty of be love
and to be in a real love
in every where
in every time
u can seize the real love
when u let the devotee to fly
and to shine
like the sun of the noon
like the moon
fade the darks of night
like the birds of the north
coming back to their home
from south
u can say in every word
the real love
u can see in every where
the real love
and reveal
the real love
in your soul
the real love
the
real
love
at the end
is a dream
of real woman
and the deeds
of real man.

Every Word I Say

You feel like liberation
You give me new sensation
You show me what I need and
You are my life completed
Can't stop, cant break, who's driving?
Sometimes there's no denying
Till today I feel I can't lose
I'm letting go of what I knew
I want you for always
I hear your name in every word I say
I'm a fool and I don't care
I hear your name in every word I say
Every word I say
Every word I say
Before you I was only
What I let control me
You are a revolution
Against my own conclusions
So today I feel I can't lose
But I'm letting go of what I knew
Said, I want you for always
I hear your name in every word I say
I'm a fool and I don't care
I hear your name in every word I say
Oh no no no no no no no
Oh no no no no no no no
Oh no no no no no no no
Oh no no no no no
And now I say goodbye to the way I used to be
There is no room for question
'Cause your name, it sets me free
Yesterday's troubles harm me
T-Today's are creeping in
So let go of the world around me
'Cause your love is all I need
I want you for always
I hear your name in every word I say
I'm a fool and that's okay
I hear your name in every word I say
I want you for always
I hear your name in every word I say
I'm a fool and I don't care
I hear your name in every word I say
Every word I say
Every word I say
In every word I say
Oh no no no no no no no
Oh no no no no no
Oh no no no no no no no no no no
Yeah!
I hear your name in every word I say
I hear your name in every word I say
I hear your name in every word I say
I hear your name well all I hear is your name
All I hear is your name
All I hear is your name
And no one can take it away

Gazing suicide

I went to the train tracks.
I sat on the bridge above.
My life has beaten me.

As I looked down below me.
I saw the tracks before my eyes.
So shiny and black.

My troubles.
My hurt.
And years of pain.
They had gotten the better of me.
It all became clear and I knew what I had to do.

I had to join the train tracks below me
I had to die

One Word

Wake up love
Wake up baby
I want to tell you
Let me say
Dreaming never looked so true
One word ain't enough
Heaven's finding eyes in you
How can I say Love?

Many smilers
Lie to each other
Children hide with pretty words
So many times we seem to find
Children play too rough
Never too late for what we are made for
How can I say Love?

All this feeling here inside
One word ain't enough
The way to say it seems to hide
How can I say Love?

How do we wind up
Why do we wind up
So alone?

How many roads do we gotta travel on
till we find out we're already home?
Already home

All this feeling here inside
One word ain't enough
The way to say it seems to hide
how can I say Love?

11 Plus 11

My name is Carlisa and i live on an Island called Carlisa,
I am very shy and beautiful and i am 11 plus 11 years old;
Come to me and my sweet apples will let you touch me.
I am young and beautiful and my sweet apples are very nice!
They are very succulent to eat and i will show you love;
So you are invited to this Island of love,
For i am 11 plus 11 years old and i will take you in.

Let the earth go round with meekness and,
Show kindness always that somebody may gain the harmony of life too;
For i am 11 plus 11 years old and the muse of life is like,
The donkey and the monkey around me.
Come and let me take you in,
For this Island of love will be your home forever!
I am very young and beautiful and you are welcome home.

Til I Said It To You

(tom shapiro, sharon vaughn, walter wilson)
Love is a powerful word
A little word that oughta mean something
Love better mean what it says
Say what you mean or it doesnt mean nothing
Love is a dangerous door to open
If you dont feel it when its spoken
Chorus:
Sometimes I said it when I really didnt mean it
Just to throw away a promise I knew wasnt true
It meant a little less to me everytime I did it
But I never said I love you from the heart
Til I said it to you
You made me tell you the truth
And that truth was a total revelation
I see I have it in me
Now I can speak without any hesitation
I love you comes so freely
For the first time I believe me
Repeat chorus x2
