Hope

When there is only mournful dark despair
shut your weary eyes and visualise
the flicker of peppered stars, now there
blazing the milky way in desert skies.

See easy light breath life in shadow shapes
as the black horizon gives way to sun.
Watch the flush of morning draw back night's drapes,
lie still, whilst final sparks in blue are done.

Linger upon the slowly rising orb,
feel warmth embolden lifeless weakened limbs,
let all the glorious heat be absorbed,
'til the dawn chorus in your heart does sing.

Then in that moment in that tranquil space
let expanding hope, dark despair replace.

Despair Of The Early Morning

DESPAIR OF THE EARLY MORNING

Despair of the early morning
Despair of the darkness
Despair of the Despair
Despair of Old Age
Despair of the road closed
Despair of nothing to do
Despair of nowhere to go
Despair of endless errands
Despair of money running out
Despair of the message of Despair
One transmits to those one loves.

Despair that has to be resisted
Despair that the light of the day
Will help me overcome
Despair I will pray my way out of
Despair I will in the course of the day
Sometime overcome.

Not the great Despair
The unending Despair
The final Despair.

The small Despair of who I am and where I am now.
The Despair that still can be resisted,
By the writing of a few awkward lines
Early in the morning.

In The Dark, Painted Pink

eyes blazing in the dark
do not be slumbered
by sleek black hair
and soft touching
of breath from
ripened lips of red

eyes blazing in the dark
do not fall into sleep's abyss
as gentle touch
fingers promises on brow
with polished nails
pointed painted pink

eyes blazing in the dark
do not drift in dreams
of allures sweet scent
such intoxicates
and dims the wit
of weary men

eyes blazing in the dark
look into souls
and reflect
what is within;
eyes blazing in the dark

Something Never There

I'm lying in this pool of dark,
I'm crying out despair,
I'm mourning for what I have not lost,
For something never there,
I watched you from a distance,
And hope flared within my chest,
But then I heard,
And then I knew,
Then the black took my hand,
From the light came darkness,
And from the hope despair,
For my love has killed me,
And caused my blood to spill,
Led my soul into damnation,
Been my bodies end,
I hope that in my final stand,
My soul has been set free,
Free from a hollow cage,
Bound in chains of tainted love,
I'm hoping now it's ended,
Hoping dark will turn to light,
But I'm lying in this pool of dark,
Crying out despair,
Mourning what I have not lost,
And what was never there,
Hoping light will come,
BUt knowing,
Knowing light will never shine,
On such a sullied heart,
And in my final stand,
I took my leave,
My life.

Descend into Despair

Darkness covers all of me
The blackness is so deep, i cannot see
Shadowy forms float in front of me and my back
It feels as though i've fallen into a dark sea, i'm fading into the black
Deep in this dark sea everything turns to grey
It feels as though my being is fading away
MY mine and body feel broken, there's a taint on my soul that i cannot bare
I'm falling even further into my despair
One foot in the grave, a moment closer to hell
I'm close to bidding the light farewell
Surronded on all sides by this cold and heartless world, filled to the brim with malice
I'm being boxed in by my aching loneliness
I can't hold on, i feel weary within
Despair has nested in my heart, all my joy is at an end
No one understands this pain that i'm feeling
From constantly seeing all this hurting, bleeding, crying, and screaming
I've withered away now, my existence is no longer presently there
Cause i've fallen into the dark sea, I've Descended into Despair

Night Is Fallin' In My Heart

Won't you please turn up the lights
I can't hardly see
Thank you kindly but that don't help
Maybe it's just me
It seems I've had this problem since
My baby packed up to leave
You see she used to be my sunshine
Now we're far apart
Night is fallin' in my heart
Oh, the light is slowly fading
Skies are growing dark
Night is fallin' in my heart
Could you pull those curtains back
And let the morning in
What's that ya say? Oh is that a fact?
Well, it still seems mighty dim
I guess I'll just have to live this way
Unless my baby come back again
You see she used to be my sunshine
Now we're far apart
Night is fallin' in my heart
Oh, the light is slowly fading
Skies are growing dark
Night is fallin' in my heart
And as the last ray of love
Slowly disappears
Alone in this endless night
I just see one thing clear
You see she used to be my sunshine
Now we're far apart
Night is fallin' in my heart
Oh, the light is slowly fading
Skies are growing dark
Night is fallin' in my heart
Night is fallin' in my heart
In my heart
In my heart

Despair/Suicide

When you feel so lost and lonely
and the world feels like despair
and there is no one to talk to
your hell is out there
the darkness of that tunnel
goes on for miles and miles
no golden flickers of light
only more and more despair
that feeling just creeps over you
it gains more power and strength
as you reach out for the tablets
taking one with each dark step
before you know it there all gone
how many did you take?
what the hell i dont care! !
theres no one to listen to you anyways
my life has been a misery
for oh so many years
it never seems to get better
just more and more despair
you lay down on a dark cold path
just waiting for to die
you can feel the drugs take over
with each and every sigh
your heart is getting weaker
the beats are slowing down
and you cant cry for help
you cant even make a sound
so as you lay there in the cold and dark
your breath is very shallow
your eyes will close for ever now
and you will find your peace out there.

My Despair Comes And Goes

My Despair comes and goes
It is not the ultimate despair,
The despair of those who have forever lost hope
The despair of those who have lost what they never will regain
The despair of those for whom there is no way out
No way to begin again
No hope in any way forever

My Despair comes and goes
It is a small Despair compared to many others
When I am in it of course
I believe it like theirs Hopeless forever hopeless

But then a new day begins,
Or a friendly voice says a friendly word
Or something good and positive happens
Or the weather changes
Or some hurt goes away
Some sign comes
And slowly slowly
I am not there anymore.

My Despair comes and goes
It is not the worst Despair
Not yet-

Yesterday I was in Despair
Today I am almost already not

I pray my writing this
Will help some despairing reader feel
They too will hope again.

Never is she shut #never is she shut

You are my Sun.
You are now set.
You brought me dawn
Everyday at ten.
You sent me dusk
Everyday at five.
Weekend two days,
You left me in dark.

You shone on me for brief,
But heavily, brightly
And deeply with warmth.
That referred warmth
Spread all the night.
I felt the shine of my Sun,
Off the dusk, at full night.
My night is brightly lit.

Now my sun is set.
Where is my dawn?
Where is my dusk?
Where is the sunny day?
Where is my beauty?
Who will there be to lit
My night-full day?
And dreaded night?

You be a Moon, now on.
Waxing and waning,
Be always on horizon
So that there comes
Once a while a full-moon,
To imbue me with life.
My day-less night
Is lit with Moonlight.

You be my stars, farther.
You twinkle and twinkle
At me high from horizon!
With your news, beckon!
With your heart, command!
I am in the bath of starlight.
My night-full day is lit.

My sun, though, is set,
No dark is there at night.
She is there as Moon.
She is there as Stars.
Though she is set as Sun.
I’m now a nocturnal.
She can never be set
Out of my heart and soul.

Dark dragon wings

Skies beneath black wings
That binds and lashes winds
Knight of the night ride dark
Brash flames rain to burn lark.

Cast on the castle as thunder
And shadow the land under
Dark wings they've a hole and tear
Dark dragon through red eyes stare.

The skies defence revel in mist
And dawn a kingdom to resist
This warrior wear blood of night
As dry air burns in to light.

Dark dragon in skies dark your hidden
Rapture and reign the forbidden.

Despair Is Darkness

DESPAIR IS DARKNESS

Despair is darkness-
Despair is death inside and death in the world and death in one’s own sad soul-
Despair is no way out -
Despair is the place where one is forever stuck -
Despair is the realization that one has done what one could – and one is not going anywhere else-
Despair is the admission of failure-
Despair is no sign of help anywhere around-
Despair is so much lost-
Despair is one‘s life is over-
Despair is regret-
Despair is the sense that one will never have the time to have another chance -
Despair is ‘it’s finished’-
Despair is no way out-
Despair is going down and more down and more dark and more afraid all the time -
Despair is the scream which hurts and does not stop the hurting -
Despair is the understanding that even Death will not save one -
Despair is that the pain will never end-not even with death.
Despair is no way out again and again and again- without end.

Theodore Roethke

In A Dark Time

In a dark time, the eye begins to see,
I meet my shadow in the deepening shade;
I hear my echo in the echoing wood--
A lord of nature weeping to a tree.
I live between the heron and the wren,
Beasts of the hill and serpents of the den.
What's madness but nobility of soul
At odds with circumstance? The day's on fire!
I know the purity of pure despair,
My shadow pinned against a sweating wall.
That place among the rocks--is it a cave,
Or a winding path? The edge is what I have.

A steady storm of correspondences!
A night flowing with birds, a ragged moon,
And in broad day the midnight come again!
A man goes far to find out what he is--
Death of the self in a long, tearless night,
All natural shapes blazing unnatural light.

Dark, dark my light, and darker my desire.
My soul, like some heat-maddened summer fly,
Keeps buzzing at the sill. Which I is I?
A fallen man, I climb out of my fear.
The mind enters itself, and God the mind,
And one is One, free in the tearing wind.

But Don't Despair

Despair, if you must –
But how's it going to pull you through?
Despair, when you trust
Naught since then there's naught to do.
Despair, should you thrust
Aside your pride, your self-esteem.
And so despair, if it's dust,
The only substance that you deem.
Despair, when a gust
Of slightly breeze can break your stance.
And do despair, when lust
Is your interpretation of romance.

But don't despair, if you can care
About the plight of any other being.
And you can focus on the help,
Support, and altruistic further actions
For the seeing. Be believing,
As despair will start receding
All around – simply since you found
A way to steer you clear
From this: the very cause of your despair!

So give to others; give them all a helping lift:
Despair, you'll find will disappear –
And that has got to be a well-deserved
And saintly gift!

Death of Dusk

The sun resigns,
bleeds out the vestiges –
remnants of the day.

Exsanguination edges into twilight:
red-brown hangs;
upwards darkens:
blue-brown,
blue-black,
death-black,
disquiet – furtive,
like ghoul-ridden fog.

A sombre moon assumes its role,
gushing silver-white lymph upon the muted scape –
a prequel of supernatural undertones
to chill the scene,
ice the spine,
kill the brain –

we have unnerved the very firmament.

But now a shadow closing down the globe:
dinosaurian cloud shrouds the moon glaze,
claims the late hour –
declared in a dying crow caw.

I, the hidden owl
– nemesis of claustrophobic minds –
awake! for mammal flesh –
fresh, jerking out its warmth in dance of death.
Rock-still I perch in sculptured oneness
with my crooked night-tree,
emanating nocturnal allure.

Together we scowl
together we play the dark
upon the land and sky
and mind

while you lie as dead in your box.

Dawning

Each morning he would take a pick-ax to the Dawn, machete strokes anchored from the Decending Sickle Moon he, like Night, would show up with blood-red streaks on his ax and hack away at carving another day from a reluctant horizon, which flattened itself away trying not give him another day, trying indeed to conceal, Light and Hope from him.

All he had had to be fought for, pick-axed from scrabble ground and each day the sweaty effort his efforts had to be breach-born into the Light from the Dark.

Till that day, pick-ax in hand, he failed.

He failed to bring even a meager dawn and he sat despondent thinking this was the end, the end of all had come to this.

Sitting at his side Despair whispered to him, 'Are you seeing that this is end? Are you willing to embrace me, kiss me on the mouth? '

Despair was beautiful and a part of him loved her so. Some many times he had lain with her, no wallowed in her arms and found comfort there.

Here she was again, at his side, telling him to lay his head in her lap, take some comfort there and once again some part him asked 'What is the use?
Depression and Despair twin sisters these two were more familiar to him than his own family who for the most part were unaware of his turmoil, his daily travals, his agonies.

And he took a deep breath ready to succumb when music came. Some one was playing music. He looked up to see the twins wide-eyed, their eyes betraying fear, and yes, Despair.

He looked around to see who was making the music when suddenly it stopped as she rose from the Pick-Ax Dawn walking, no floating toward them, a slight musical strain in the air as Despair and Depresson stared at her apparition waning in the growing light each looking from him to her, both finally saying as they left, 'We'll be near if you need us.'

She of the dawning light drew nearer and stopped twenty feet in front of him falling silent.

He said 'Who are you? '

Aura

The air was dark
The moon was dark
The night was dark
The cloud was dark
The heat was dark
The stars were black
The birds were black
The eyes were black
The shadows were black
The planes were black
A sound of night
The hearts of night
A chase at night
A fall at night
No help at night
The night is night
Where is my sight
I have no sight
Your light was sight
No light no sight
No one in sight
The dark in sight
Don't call my name
What's my name
They call my name
That's not my name
Who said its my name
I have no name
You took my same
It was our same
She was our same
She's now your same
Its all the same
I'm not the same
Judas and my hand
You took my hand
'I do' my hand
You kissed my hand
You broke my hand
You fell my hand
A tear in sand
A heart in sand
A body in sand
Alone in sand
A dust in sand
At home in sand.

Shadow in the Dark

I’m a shadow in the dark
The quintessential sound of death
I’m a shadow in the dark
Like the reaper’s icy breath

I’m a statue set in stone
In apathetic sleep
Let the world just pass me by
And I will never weep

I’m a shadow in the dark
The quintessential sound of death
I’m a shadow in the dark
Like the reaper’s icy breath

You don’t have to set me free
You don’t have to light my night
You don’t have to feel my breath
Or step into my line of sight
For I’m a shadow in the dark
You know I’m there but you can’t see
I’m a shadow in the dark
You pass me by, and leave me be.

The Sleepless Eye

Counting stars in a winter sky
While breath circles upwards
Waiting for the sun to rise
Notching every hour, away
To break the hypnosis of night
Anticipating the rising sun
To cut through tree branches
Creating shapes, images and thoughts
Cold, chilling the skin in equal measure
While black skies turn a dark blue
Fresh from a violet intervention
Its not just the day
But its perception that’s changing
Counting stars in a winters sky
Ode to the sleepless eye

Dark Light

Look out, cause theres something wrong
And you dont know what it is
Watch out, or its sodom and gommorah
The malevolent order
Right now, before its much too late
Before its much too late
A dark light---a darkness never ending
A dark light---the devil gets his due
A dark night---is everywhere descending
A dark light---is coming for you
Now look up, well the skies are black
And theyre getting darker all the time
Watch out, for the things that you believe in
Youre gonna be attacked,
And you wont know what it is
Wise up, you better watch your step
You better watch your step
A dark light---a darkness never ending
A dark light---of perversion and hate
A dark night---is everywhere descending
A dark light---theres no time to wait
Look out, for the death of love
There will be no more love
Watch out, its yourself that you are fooling
Who do you think youre fooling
Shout it out, its a terrible thing
Such a terrible thing
A dark light---a darkness never ending
A dark light---the sun is turning cool
A dark night---is everywhere descending
A dark light---is shining at you
Dark light, dark light
Is shining at you, dark light

Sunrise of Hope

Hope rises in our hearts
like the sunrise over a
snow-capped mountain peak,
reaching up to the skies.

Hope gives us gladness
from dawn to dusk,
flooding our souls with
heaven's sweetest music.

Hope assures us of a
rousing victory over defeat,
of a glorious certainty
that the best is yet to come.

Hope opens our eyes
to the beauty of life
and the tranquil walk of faith.

Hope makes us aware
of a God of compassion and kindness,
who touches our wintry despair
with His amazing love.

In the midst of life's stormy seas,
we will have perfect peace,
if Christ is our Captain,
our hope and our guide.

Ring the joybells of life
as we fly on the wings of hope,
with Christ as our Pilot.
Enjoy the glorious sunrise
of hope over the mountains of life.
