Arab Spring

There's much ado about the Arab Spring;
It has about it such a pleasant ring.
We in the West can really feel exalted
By how the Arab countries have revolted.
But lately I must say I've been observing
Developments that really are disturbing
For Muslim fundamentalists are grinning
As at the ballot boxes they are winning.
Now revolutionaries are depressed;
They fear the rights they've won will be suppressed,
For victory over tyrants quickly pales
When women have to hide behind their veils;
And from the past we know the lessons clear;
That those who don't conform will live in fear,
For there at fundamentalism's core
Among the shadows hides - Sharia Law.
The end result's too early yet too call
But let us hope the Spring is not the Fall.

Oh kings so deaf (Please just DIE)

First, I do not expect this one to gain popularity among readers, this intended for the Arab world, only an Arab can understand the frustration caused by what is going on in Gaza..
------****------

Gaza Gaza on this map you see
Another land that is not free
Crowded with people fighting death
Fighting to take another breath
Killed for not taking the bow
In front of a rifle deadly glow
From this day Gaza is red
Like the Blood that was shed
A new, real & burning holocaust
To kill the innocents at all cost
No aid from the desert kings
Busy kissing boots & things
That I can not mention here
Kings of filth, kings by fear
On the land on your western sides
Lies the coward who always hides
Closing his gates from helping you
Knowing his people hates him too
All around Gaza fall the silence
That can not hide that violence
In your land, far and around
The People never forgot the bound
People will keep rocking this ground
To help you there, to stop the sound
Of gun fire & the stuka’s cries
To stop the fire & the smoke that flies
Hear me now.. Kings of our demise
Enough with you, it is time to rise
Sacred you aren’t nor are you divine
You live by stealing the rights of mine
Open the gates of our frontiers
Blood cries for blood, tears for tears
Eye for an eye, hear our cry
Oh kings so deaf, please just DIE

Early in the Spring

Early in the spring
Not a leaf has struck the ground
The swallow has yet to sing
And the plowmen are no where to be found

Early in the spring
The forest stands still
And no creature dare come out
Before the sun rises o’er the hill

Early in the spring
The valley holds the morning dew
And its serenity may be captured
By only a certain few

Early in the spring
The trees turn, brown to green
Many changes occur
But few can be seen

Early in the spring
Or in the latter of fall
No matter the change of season
The evergreen stands tall

Anterotics

Laughs the happy April morn
Thro' my grimy, little window,
And a shaft of sunshine pushes
Thro' the shadows in the square.

Dogs are tracing thro' the grass,
Crows are cawing round the chimneys,
In and out among the washing
Goes the West at hide-and-seek.

Loud and cheerful clangs the bell.
Here the nurses troop to breakfast.
Handsome, ugly, all are women . . .
O, the Spring-the Spring-the Spring!

Spring

In spring
The tender leaves spring
And release the coiled mind to spring
And fling
The thing
That till then did wring.

In spring
The little birds sing
And sling the depressed mind to swing
And bring
Bells of joy
To ring and cling.

I don't think that fundamentalism has anything to do with Jesus Christ. They call themselves Christians, but if that's Christian, count me out. Fundamentalism is built on fear and greed. They're telling you to give them your money otherwise you're going to hell.

Fear Within Me

The fear has rushed back into me.
The door has closed
and sealed my bravery.
What was once strong
Is now weak from fear.
Fear is stronger
Then thought possible.
A war is inside me,
Fighting to balance
The fear I feel.
My fear will try
And have a victory,
But I won't let it win.
I will overcome my fear
And my reward will be victory.

Hope of spring takes me through winter.
Fear of heat mars the pleasure of spring.

Hope and fear to mar one’s moments.

Spring Did Come.

Spring did come,
On butterfly's wings.
On a flitting bird,
And the song it sings.

Spring did come,
When the flowers bloomed,
When it filled the air
With a sweet purfume.

Spring did come,
On the morning's breeze.
Spring did come,
On budding leaves.

Spring did come,
On blades of dew.
Spring did come,
In skies of blue.

Spring did come,
With a joyous ring.

Spring did come...

Welcome, Spring!

Aftermath

After the Arab Spring, what?
The death count all but recorded
But none of the expected aftermath
Where is the freedom that was expected?

Nations that had them still in chaos
Just a political label?
Of vague directions, what a lost cause!
Options absent, all's not well.

So gone are the aged dictatorships
Multiplied are the conflicts and deaths
Governments changed but there's no leadership
Such a scenario add to global debts.

Eight hundred million dollars to feed Arab Spring?
Money cannot water a people's hunger
Love for country must always be birth within
And values must be changed for each other.

For Freedom is not just an empty word
It's respect for every child, woman, or man
Upholding the good, negotiation - not discord
And unity, not greed, will make them stand.

The Reign Must Fall

The tyrants psyche is broken.
He sits in his gilded palace
Surrounded by his trusty band
Of armed thuggish cutthroats, waiting
For the inevitable end.
Outside the palace walls a crowd
Of angry, loathing citizens
Whose long suppressed voices bellow
An immediate regime change;
But like most tyrants of the past
Ego and self-aggrandizement
Deludes clear, rational thinking;
As a result, grasping at straws
Hoping for the impossible.

Fear is Everywhere You look

Everyone has a fear
They don’t even know where it comes from
Fear is everywhere you don’t have to look
There are fears that scare little kids
Like the dark or the monster in the closet
But without fear the world would fall into darkness
There are some people that fear other people
And some that fear water
But a lot of people fear the end of the world
There are people that do not have any fear
They are the people that are different
Even if they hide their fears from humanity
I am someone that is different
But I will tell you my fear
And that is
The fear of my friends dying first
I could not live with out my friends
A man once told me that fear is away to run
Show no fear even in the eyes of the end
Fear is everywhere you look
I told you my fear
I think that you have a fear too
But if you dare to tell
That is your choose
I do not control you
I have said that fear is everywhere you look
What is your worst fear? ? ?
I will not judge you if you tell! ! !

Arabian Questions That Must Be Asked

They say that the mosque is being built
To promote American/ Arab ties
But you know that’s all a lie.
If you want to heal the American wound
Move it away- it’s much too soon.

You are adding insult to injury
That is something I can not see.
You say that the burning of the koran
Is disrespectful to the Arab world.

Well! How do you think that America feels
When our rights you are trying to steal.
We have the right to protect something
That is sacred to us.
So in your decision we’ll put GODS trust.

We must both ask ourselves some questions
Before you make that decision.

How can the Arab nations build a mosque
In the area of devastation?
What if Americans did something to your
Mosque in retaliation?

Or is it that you want the u.s. citizens to retaliate
So you can say that it is fate?
What is it that you have planned
That you’re determined to take this stand?

Are you going to build the mosque
To blow it up yourselves and blame the u.s.
To get support from other Arab nations?
These are questions that we must ask
Before you start on that task.
“GOD” no matter what he may be called
Is in us one and all.
Let us all stand up for one another
Let us really become sister and brother.
Let us stand up to hunger, poverty, and hate
Let us stand up before it’s too late.
Let us stand up for 9/11
So that all the world can see
That this will live throughout history.

Build your mosque if you must
But let us keep the memory
Of where the twin towers used to be.

Put your mosque far enough away
Where Americans can go to pray
And honor the ones who died that day.

Spring Begins (Terza Rima Sonnet)

I hear the music, magic all around,
the little birds are singing in my dreams,
ah, how I missed this pleasant, joyful sound.

I feel the freshness of the crystal streams.
White snowdrops gently say the Spring is here.
Through puffy clouds, the sun so happy gleams,

the rain has stopped; the sky is blue and clear.
Pink tulips wake up early from the snow,
Spring is indeed the best time of the year.

The gardens missed the old romantic glow.
Blue angels dance; the world in wonder spins.
The Winter cries. She's sad and has to go.

She shows, last time, her irritated grins;
The Spring has won again the Spring begins!

The Hidden Poem With In Us

Poetry hinds behind the very tears we shed
It hides in the very pain we feel
It hides deep inside our locked emotions
When you feel confused there a poem hiding with all the answers
Poetry hides in the shadows that follow you around
It hides in the mumbling sound of our depressed voices
it hides in the locked up anger we all have
Poetry hides in the voices in our mind that is put on mute
Poetry hides behind the secrete window in our minds we painted black
But the thing about poetry is that it seems to be playing a game of hide-and-seek
But in reality it just waiting to be unleashed and told
It lies dormant locked up in chains we created our selves
We just got to let it free and let it tell its story

The Early Spring (Rondel Prime)

The early spring brings new flowers again
while twittering birds fly past in a flock,
at the sight of humans cry in amok,
hide in their nests in the seeping cold rain,

while on the road daily joggers do train,
timing themselves with the far off clock.
The early spring brings new flowers again
while twittering birds fly past in a flock,

some on the ground peck and cry out in pain,
others flutter above ships in the dock
while the big waves does them up and down rock
while the spray, rust and salt marks does decks stain.
The early spring brings new flowers again
while twittering birds fly past in a flock.
