U.S. BURIED IRAQI SOLDIERS ALIVE IN GULF WAR
'What you saw was a
bunch of trenches with
arms sticking out.'
'Plows mounted on
tanks. Combat
earthmovers.'
'Defiant.'
'Buried.'
'Carefully planned and
rehearsed.'
'When we
went through there wasn't
anybody left.'
'Awarded
Silver Star.'
'Reporters
banned.'
'Not a single
American killed.'
'Bodycount
impossible.'
'For all I know,
thousands, said
Colonel Moreno.'
'What you
saw was a bunch of
buried trenches
with people's
arms and things
sticking out.'
'Secretary Cheney
made no mention.'
'Every single American
was inside
the juggernaut
impervious
to small-arms
fire.' 'I know
burying people
like that sounds
pretty nasty, said
Colonel Maggart,
But . . . .'
'His force buried
about six hundred
and fifty
in a thinner line
of trenches.'
'People's arms
sticking out.'
'Every American
inside.'
'The juggernaut.'
'I'm not
going to sacrifice
the lives
of my soldiers,
Moreno said, it's not
cost-effective.'
'The tactic was designed
to terrorize,
Lieutenant Colonel Hawkins
said, who helped
devise it.'
'Schwartzkopf's staff
privately
estimated fifty to seventy
thousand killed
in the trenches.'
'Private Joe Queen was
awarded
a Bronze Star for burying
trenches with his
earthmover.'
'Inside
the juggernaut.'
'Impervious.'
'A lot of the guys
were scared, he said,
but I
enjoyed it.'
'A bunch of
trenches. People's
arms and things
sticking out.'
'Cost-effective.'

Im Sticking With You
(reed)
Im sticking with you
cos Im made out of glue
Anything that you might do
Im gonna do too
You held up a stage coach in the rain
And Im doing the same
So youre hanging from a tree
And I made believe it was me
Im sticking with you
cos Im made out of glue
Anything that you might do
Im gonna do too
People going to the stratosphere
Soldiers fighting with the cong?
But with you by my side I can do anything
When we swing
We hang past right or wrong
Ill do anything for you
Anything you want me too
Ill do anything for you
Oohoh Im sticking with you
Oohoh Im sticking with you
Oohoh Im sticking with you

Back To The Trenches
Presidents and peace spreading poets
Getting gunned down in the streets
Shown to us on our prime time screens
For our tea time treat
Lunatics we voted for denying
Everything that they swore
We sit around and shout about it
But we dont do nothing more
Drafted for police action
But they decided on a war
Telling us we were saving mankind
Why dont you ask cambodia
We were solving it with marijuana
We were sure that we could
Always leavin it to someone else
Just knocking on wood
Were goin back to the trenches
Were goin back to the trenches
Well you say you got a say so
But youre knowin that it aint so
And you turn away
You think its safer to ignore it
But the score is your children have to pay
Everybody wants better
Everybody talkin bout it
Are we wastin time
Gotta stop only lookin, talkin
Were all guilty of the crime
Were goin back to the trenches
Were goin back to the trenches
We gotta move, we got everything to lose
We gotta move, we got everything to lose
Were all headed for the front
But everybodys fightin for a good address
Its time we made the changes
Or well be burnin with the rest
We just aint communicatin and I dont
Mean conversations on the telephone
When nero starts to fiddle this time
Theres a lot more gonna burn than rome
Were goin back to the trenches
Were goin back to the trenches
Were goin back to the trenches
Were goin back to the trenches

In Midnight Sleep
IN midnight sleep, of many a face of anguish,
Of the look at first of the mortally wounded--of that indescribable
look;
Of the dead on their backs, with arms extended wide,
I dream, I dream, I dream.
Of scenes of nature, fields and mountains;
Of skies, so beauteous after a storm--and at night the moon so
unearthly bright,
Shining sweetly, shining down, where we dig the trenches and gather
the heaps,
I dream, I dream, I dream.
Long, long have they pass'd--faces and trenches and fields;
Where through the carnage I moved with a callous composure--or away
from the fallen,
Onward I sped at the time--But now of their forms at night,
I dream, I dream, I dream. 10

Sticking In My Eye
When I look round, I only see outta one eye
As the smoke surrounds my head, the sauna
I hear the voices, but I cant make out their words
Saying things, saying things that
I got something sticking in my eye
Got something sticking in my eye ( x 2 )
I feel unusual from thinking
About the underground decay, God help me
Kill beneath the camera, watch the world begin to cry
Its not from pity, it comes from
Whats been sticking in my eye
Got something sticking in my eye

But now that I'm cartooning full-time, I'm more of an observer. I'm talking to people who are experiencing these things. But it's not like being in the trenches.
Take Me
I pull my boots off, throw my weapons on the floor
Cry my eyes out, in my private little war
Well it seems Ive been a soldier
Heaven knows Ive been no saint
In my camouflage and armor, cold heart and grease paint
To you this has no meaning the armistice laid down
The armies are all quiet and the guns dont make a sound
cause you melted the steel walls, tore down the barbed wire
Filled in the trenches, demanded a cease fire
And now youre leaving, theres nothing I can do
I want you to know youre gonna take me with you
Well now three on a match is suicide in the foxhole of my mind
And way off in the distance the air raid sirens whine
And they sing your song of rescue to my tattered worn out shell
You drag me to your safety from this my front line hell
cause you melted the steel walls, tore down the barbed wire
Filled in the trenches, demanded a cease fire
And now youre leaving, theres nothing I can do
I want you to know youre gonna take me with you
The blood that was spilled in the heartache before
Left road maps of scars that I never could ignore
cause you melted the steel walls, tore down the barbed wire
Filled in the trenches, demanded a cease fire
And now youre leaving, theres nothing I can do
I want you to know youre gonna take me with you

World war one
War of the great powers
Over four countries took part
Rifles were also used to kill in the war
Land was taken from countries
Dead men rotted in the trenches
Weapons were used to kill
Although people got shell shocks
Recruitment was one of the most things men had to do
On water
Navy's battle first shot was in Malawi
Even though war killed us all

Wounded Knee Creek
Crazy Horse, War Chief of the Sioux Indians of the North American plains, was murdered by white soldiers on September 5th,1877. He was 35.
Soldiers from Fort Robinson came smiling
Pretending friendship to Crazy Horse
Offering the Sioux a lasting peace treaty
But only if the War Chief returned with them.
Trusting lies of those who never honoured any treaty
Crazy Horse rode unarmed into the fort
They barred the gates and held him by the arms
While private William Gentles bayoneted him twice.
Parents of Crazy Horse came to the fort
Took away the body of their warrior son
Secretly buried his majestic heart
At a place called Wounded Knee Creek.
American history records the Indian nations were finally defeated by white soldiers at a place called Wounded Knee Creek on December 29,1890. But it was a massacre. The Indians had surrendered. They were unarmed prisoners when the soldiers opened fire.300 men, women and children were killed.4 men, and 47 women and children survived.

Bobby's Arms
(Dolly Parton)
Bobby's arms, they are warm when he holds me
Bobby's arms always comfort and console me
When I'm in his arms held tight
I know everything's alright
Just as long as I'm inside bobby's arms
Chorus:
Bobby's arms always welcome me inside
Bobby's arms always hold me when I cry
Bobby's arms are my shelter from life's storms
And I feel so safe in Bobby's arms
Bobby's arms, they are strong but they're tender
Bobby's arms reach for me and I surrender
When he reaches out for me, I'm never out of reach
And I always want to be in Bobby's arms
Repeat Chorus

A War To End All Wars, But Wasn’t
They not only fought the enemy,
but fought the elements as well.
They fought for their country
in lands far from home.
They fought rain, mud and the enemy
in trenches stained with blood
from those who had fallen there before.
They fought on and on
while the Generals watched
the slaughter from far away.
For their mistakes men died
by the score across the battlefield.
Their blood would stained the land
then and forever more.
Then came the gas
like a creeping mist across the battlefield
that silenced all in its wake.
It made no distinction to young or old,
just poisoned all it touched.
Their contorted bodies rotted where they fell.
They said this was a war to end all wars, but it wasn’t.
Almost twenty years later
men from different countries gathered to fight another war
and again in the trenches men fell.
The mechanics had changed;
machines became more prevalent across the battlefield,
still men died for small victories in the tide of war.

How horrible, fantastic, incredible, it is that we should be digging trenches and trying on gas-masks here because of a quarrel in a faraway country between people of whom we know nothing.

Bullets and Poppies
Bullets were flying
and soldiers were dying
as crimson poppies
swayed in the breeze,
beyond the trenches
beyond the green leas
in the fourteen-eighteen war
'the war to end all wars'
but these words sadly
failed to please.
The poppy's the emblem
and sorrowful hearts in sympathy
wander back to Flanders Fields
where thousands of comrades
were shamefully killed.
Golden the archives,
with names of the heroes...
and the poppy still sways
in the breeze, because
wars will never cease.

Past Life War Memories
flash back to World War I
past life death experiences
he was a famous war poet
when he was but three or four
his father's mother used to call
him 'old tot' and 'little old man'
she told his mother and various
others that he was an old soul
had walked this world before
she was supposedly never wrong
she read tarot cards and did table
knockings later his primary school
teacher who married his uncle
believed this incredible same thing
he used to draw pictures of trenches
at primary school age then shelling
heavy shelling of all drawn trenches
war in trenches then everyone died
past lives when real are locked
for good reason this life is important
what we do achieve in this life
anthems are silent for doomed youths
for soldiers who died as slaughtered cattle
pierced by ‘stuttering rifles' rapid rattle'
he had a special strange feeling for poetic lines
in a few heart strung poems playing poignant fines
haunting memories strung within solemn mask soul
from the first time he heard those poems
the words echoed in his soul as his own
but some souls born share linked purposes
it was also a poetic form he could easily write
choose not too it seemed too close to the bone
in each time select purposes are need achieved

U.S. Election 2008 - What as supposed to be cocomity and cooperation following rancor
Don't get your hopes up
There are hachets
Buried barely below the surface
We all know where they are
Prison guards search for hidden weapons
Each and every day
They know they are there
For when the next fight breaks out
Larger political weapons
Are easier to find
We all watched the ceremonies
Where we buried them
Their handles were left
Sticking out just in case
We'll need them again and
Forget where we buried them
Both sides waved their's around
With threatening gestures
To harm or frighten others
Trying to get them to join
Each side was frightened
That not enough others
Would be convinced by fact and reason
Now that our side has won
Both sides have pretended to cooperate
Bury their hachets - - -
Liar Liar
Even with our financial pants still on fire

Fortress Around Your Heart
Under the ruins of a walled city
Crumbling towers and beams of yellow light
No flags of truce, no cries of pity
The siege guns had been pounding all through the night
It took a day to build the city
We walked through its streets in the afternoon
As I returned across the fields Id known
I recognized the walls that I once made
I had to stop in my tracks for fear
Of walking on the mines Id laid
And if I built this fortress around your heart
Encircled you in trenches and barbed wire
Then let me build a bridge
For I cannot fill the chasm
And let me set the battlements on fire
Then I went off to fight some battle
That Id invented inside my head
Away so long for years and years
You probably thought or even wished that I was dead
While the armies are all sleeping
Beneath the tattered flag wed made
I had to stop in my track for fear
Of walking on the mines Id laid
And if I built this fortress around your heart
Encircled you in trenches and barbed wire
Then let me build a bridge
For I cannot fill the chasm
And let me set the battlements on fire
This prison has now become your home
A sentence you seem prepared to pay
It took a day to build the city
We walked through its streets in the afternoon
As I returned across the fields where Id once played
I had to stop in my tracks for fear
Of walking on the mines Id laid
And if I built this fortress around your heart
Encircled you in trenches and barbed wire
Then let me build a bridge
For I cannot fill the chasm
And let me set the battlements on fire

Standing Here
Im standing on a hilltop
A hundred miles from home
I can see the light surrounds me
I want you to show me round
Im standing here
I really dont think you could know
That Im in heaven when you smile
Im drifting through the city
Im swinging from a tree
I can touch but you cant feel me
You hear me as you sleep
Im standing here
I really dont think you could know
That Im in heaven when you smile
And Im everywhere
I really dont think you could know
That Im in heaven when you smile
But I dont think you think like I do
No matter how how hard I try
I always thought Id have the answer
Let me tell you what Ive got
Im looking through your window
I might just have the key
Over me my free-fall baby
You hear me as you speak
Im standing here
I really dont think you could know
That Im in heaven when you smile
Im standing here
I really dont think you could know
That Im in heaven when you smile
But Im everywhere
I really dont think you could know
That Im in heaven when you smile
But I dont think you think like I do
No matter how how hard I try
I always thought I had the answers
Let me tell you what Ive got
Oh let it rot I made them stop
I could park a juggernaut in your mouth
And I can feel a hurricane when you shout
I should be safe forever in your arms
I should be safe forever in your arms
I could park a juggernaut in your mouth?
And I can feel a hurricane when you shout
I should be safe forever in your arms
I should be safe forever in your arms

Find The Cost Of Freedom
Daylight again, following me to bed
I think about a hundred years ago, how my fathers bled
I think I see a valley, covered with bones in blue
All the brave soldiers that cannot get older been askin' after
you
Hear the past a callin', from Ar- -megeddon's side
When everyone's talkin' and noone is listenin', how can we
decide?
(Do we) find the cost of freedom, buried in the ground
Mother earth will swallow you, lay your body down
Find the cost of freedom, buried in the ground
Mother earth will swallow you, lay your body down
(Find the cost of freedom buried in the ground)

The Dreamers
Soldiers are citizens of death's gray land,
Drawing no dividend from time's to-morrows.
In the great hour of destiny they stand,
Each with his feuds, and jealousies, and sorrows.
Soldiers are sworn to action; they must win
Some flaming, fatal climax with their lives.
Soldiers are dreamers; when the guns begin
They think of firelit homes, clean beds, and wives.
I see them in foul dug-outs, gnawed by rats,
And in the ruined trenches, lashed with rain,
Dreaming of things they did with balls and bats,
And mocked by hopeless longing to regain
Bank-holidays, and picture shows, and spats,
And going to the office in the train.

Snakes
Open the basket
Listen to the flute play
Open the basket
Listen to the flute play
Toot toot toot play
Snakes in the basket
Lie to lead you astray
Snakes in the basket
Force to make you betray
Your innermost truth hidden away
Now you're falling down to the underground
Slither down to your lair
Hidden in the many trenches of a hopeless war
Those who were sold out by a corporate board
Carry the casket
Never mind the gun spray
Bury the casket
Pawns in someone's gameplay
Shoot shoot shoot obey
Now you're falling down to the underground
Slither down to your lair
Hidden in the many trenches of a hopeless war
Those who were sold out by a corporate board
Listen to the flute play
Listen to the flute play
Listen to the flute play
Subscription to the spreading of lies
Soldier catches a glimpse of his demise deep down inside
Even he knows snakes come in many shapes and sizes
Many shapes and sizes
Snakes have no hands to be tied
Concoction of malicious lies
Deep inside the general despises himself
Listen to the flute play
Another reptile in line
Snakes without grass cannot hide
Now you're falling down to the underground
Slither down to your lair
Hidden in the many trenches of a hopeless war
Those who were sold out by a corporate board
Now you're falling down to the underground
Slither down to your lair
Forked tongues spread the poison with another toxic sting
So much pain their serpentine inhibitions bring
Oh - listen to the flute play
Listen to the flute play
Listen to the flute play
Listen to the flute play
Open the basket
Open the basket
Listen to the flute play
Open the basket
Listen to the flute play
Listen to the flute play
Go ahead
Listen to the flute play
Open the basket
Oh - open the basket
