I Need My Beauty Sleep

Some days seem short, some days seem long,
Some days don't want to end...
Then we feel weak instead of strong,
No longer to pretend.
A sudden yawn, a droopy head,
Then heavy eyelids prove
It's time for us to go to bed,
While we've got strength to move!

So up the stairs we plod once more,
A second yawn to share,
Perhaps to kneel upon the floor
To offer God a prayer...
Then all at once, the lights go out
And forty winks begin
Beneath the blankets all about,
Wrapped tight to keep us in...

I need my beauty sleep, don't you?
I can't stay up all night!
I know when sleep is overdue,
So why put up a fight?
My muscles, what there are of them,
Just melt like morning snow...
As I slip into peaceful REM...
On memory foam, I go...

Summer Nights

Oh, how I hate these hot summer nights,
When a good night's sleep is far from sight.
Lying on my bed, I constantly toss and turn,
While the air around me continuously burns.

My window is slightly ajar to let in some air;
I wonder if I'd be slightly cooler downstairs.
I have rolled down my blanket and my sheet,
But despite doing all this, I still feel the heat.

I watch the clock and the time ticks on by,
But, I just can't sleep, however hard I try.
Feeling restless in the middle of the night,
I climb out of bed and switch on the light.

Feeling so far away from the Land Of Nod,
I sit reading a book and then I play my iPod.
I'm having a bad night, and am not impressed:
I didn't sleep much last night, and need my rest.

As the night draws on, slightly cooler air arrives,
But, by this time, the clock has just struck five.
I hear the little birds singing out at dawn,
And it is only then that I give a big yawn.

My eyelids feel heavy and begin to close,
And, after sleepless hours, I begin to doze.
Finally, I fall asleep: inside my soul feels calm,
But a short time later, I'm woken by the alarm.

By now, my room is flooded by brilliant sunlight;
But I want to stay in bed, with my eyes shut tight.
I feel like I'm almost dead, rather than refreshed;
I certainly don't feel anywhere near my very best.

I don't have much energy: I've no get up and go,
And when I do get up, my movements are slow.
I wish that the temperature at night would dip,
Then I could finally get some much needed kip.

Blankets

Some blankets are thin
that cover the poor.
They're lucky to have them.
They sleep on the floor.
No pillow to sleep on
to cradle their head,
nothing to sleep on
that's called a bed.

Some blankets are downy
that cover the rich.
No shivering at night
in their warm little niche.
Their heads have been cradled
since they were born.
They sleep in comfort
all cozy and warm.

Some blankets are heavy.
They weigh you down.
You can't move your toes
or wriggle them around.
You lay there quite still
and wrestle with thought.
You think of blankets
that are light.
and if the poor
will be alright?

Warmth

The days warm wraps itself...
Secure in this heat---
Cozy and at ease-in the sun...
But my yawn betrays me--
As sleep is beckoning me...
As my eyelids droop--
Halfway over my green...
Wanting to shut completely;
My head bobs-quickly abrupt--
And for a second i sleep;
Back awake immediately-on alert...
Wide-eyed but not bushy tailed! ! !
Not wanting to miss--
The days tender kiss...
From the Sun--
Before day is done;
The warm engulfs me once again--
Like a comforter...
Or patchwork quilt...
Oft' used in the Winter;
It is here...
I finallly succumb...
To the sun;

Sleep

And my eyes shut tight as the eyes of dark slip away
And Ill drift through dreams till the dawn of the day
When the sun comes up and Ill be here alone
Time plays the same joke again
Where it drags out forever a longer
Always could last only seconds as shorter
Those sweet hours when youre here by my side
And all these days are never ending
All the time life grew long and bye
Ill sleep long and well tonight
Because in dreams youre in my sight
When eyelids shut Im not lonely anymore
And everything within the world is right
And a voice on wire is a sad replication if best put
The phone is the only means that I have
To bridge the lonely distance back to you
Hang up and long for your touch
Which Ive missed now for weeks since aside
That being apart isnt easier with time
I can only count the seconds until I hold
And all these days are never ending
All the time life grew long and bye
Ill sleep long and well tonight
Because in dreams youre in my sight
When eyelids shut Im not lonely anymore
And everything within the world is right
Ill sleep long and well tonight
Because in dreams youre in my sight
When eyelids shut Im not lonely anymore
And everything within the world is right

Then I Wake Up

i smell the fragrance
of your hair
feel your fingers and your breath
on my skin
when we're here alone like this
a crazy world makes perfect sense
i hear you whisperin' my name
your kisses leave the sweetest taste
on my lips
when you say 'i love you too'
soft and tender like you do
i know all m dreams have come true
(chorus)
then i wake up
on the floor beside our bed
where i sleep
ever since the night
you left me alone
in this old house
days go by
but im still in love
with who we used to be
now you're just a precious memory
i can count on every night to hold me tight
then i wake up
i lay here while the truth sinks in
im still alone you're still not here
and we're still through
i remember our last night
every word right up to goodbye
slowly i drift off again
im saing words i wish id said
that night, to you
and you dont drive off in your car
and i dont have a broken heart
and you cant wait to be in my arms
(repeat chorus)
im still in love
with who we used to be
now you're just

A Yawn

Sees a yawn
Gets infected
With the yawn
And a yawn
Too by itself
Then it tries to
Sleep to
Get some sleep to
Count the ships
And the sheep
A very tired poem
Yawns
But never sleeps
a tired poem
No more it is simply
A poem
Sleepless
True to
Its nature.

Fold It All Away

The fire, the heat, the hungry daze -
I will fold it all away.
Like clothes just meant for summer days
It’s winter now - cold here to stay

You made my heart soar and leap
And now my heart will go to sleep
Like clothes just meant for summer days
It’s winter now - cold here to stay

All desire in me is gone -
Another’s touch would just feel wrong
Like clothes just meant for summer days
It’s winter now - cold here to stay

Your smile’s engraved inside my head,
The view of you, touching foreheads
Like clothes just meant for summer days
It’s winter now - cold here to stay

A kiss that made my heart melt,
Feelings I had never felt
Like clothes just meant for summer days
It’s winter now - cold here to stay

I loved to hear your laughter most
But now the sound will be a ghost
Like clothes just meant for summer days
I will fold it all away
Such warmth and love can never stay
I will fold
It all
Away

Higher than I’ve ever been
The fall is here - let it begin
But I will rise again someday
The cold and winter cannot stay

For now that day seems far away
Like clothes just meant for summer days
And I will fold
Every piece
Away
It’s winter now
The cold
Will stay

Hamlet soliliquy insomnia

'To sleep, or, not to sleep?

That is the question

Whether it is nobler in the mind

To heave the leaded unslept eyes of sleep

Adrift in that uncertain hour

Between the hem of dawn

And sombre headed night

Or drink the hemlock of dispair

And sleep herewith eternally

In some far distant land?

I, but there's the rub

For in that sleep of death

What dreams may come?

When we have shuffled off our mortal duvets

Must give us pause,

And wrench thus the heavy eyed soul of heaven

With a careful prayer

And thus without relent

Allow the troubled heart and troubled thoughts

No rest but beckon in the coming dawn

With one last stretch

One final yawn

Alas I melt and thaw into a dew!

September Song

Oh its a long long time from may to december
And the days grow short when you reach september
When the autumn weather turns the leaves to flame
And you aint got time for waiting game
When days dwindle down to a precious few
September november, and these few golden days Id share with you
Those golden days I share with you
When the days dwindle down to a precious few
September november, and all those golden days Id share with you
Those golden days Id share with you

Those golden days Id share with you

Prayer is Life

Prayer is life,
Life is prayer,
Prayer gives me strength,
Strength to face
All the problems
Of this world.
Prayer brightens my day,
It gives me sound sleep at night.
I abide in My Saviour,
And humbly I rest.

Prayer makes me strong
To defeat Satan.
Prayer continues unceasingly,
It does not stop
In the morning or at noon.
It goes on and on,
Until sleep shuts my eyes.
O, that blessed life
Of prayer,
I long for the
Sweet life.

Seven Days

I dont care if the rain dont shine
Oh, I dont care if the sun dont fall
You are the one in a million, child
And you knew that I would call
Thoughts of you alone with me
I cant slow them down
But I cant sleep at night
Because youre not around
I cant wait
Seven days is a long time
To be waiting for you girl
I cant wait
Seven days is just too long
To be without you girl
Ive tried every kind of distraction
But nothing will ease this pain
There is only one solution, girl
So why do you make me wait
Got to say I didnt think
That I could read your mind
But I cant sleep at night
cause baby youre on mine
I cant wait
Seven days is a long time
Oh, I miss you girl
I cant wait
Seven days is just too long
I cant wait
Seven days is a long time
To be without you
I cant wait
Seven days is just too long
Just too long

Sleep won't Come

It's late at night,
It's time to sleep,

But sleep won't come.

I close my eyes,
Put out the light,

But sleep won't come.

I toss and turn,
I stretch and yawn,

But sleep won't come.

Factory

Days are long but the minds are strong
In the factory
Heads are down and all the people frown
In the factory
I'm so down I put my head around every noose I see
Days are long but the minds are strong
In the factory

Eyes are mean but the walls are clean
In the factory
Patience now they're gonna string you out
In the factory
I'm so tired I never go outside every night I sleep
Days are long but the minds are gone
In the factory

Rest-less criminals

REST-LESS CRIMINALS

Coping with the lights
They never turn off
Keeping me up all night
No sleep at all
They talk and shout
They party all night
I want to knock them out
It’s just not right
Trying to ignore these sounds and lights
To get some sleep
Would be a delight
Whether I like it or not
Forced to stay up all night
I hate this fact
That I can’t sleep at will
But it’s all my fault I guess
I put myself here
During the day when I should be awake
It’s when I sleep
It’s something I hate
To many things here to steel my rest
When I get out of here
I’ll sleep for days

Taking Time

i tried to ask myself what are days for
they always equate it with walking and the nights
always with sleep. Some have taken the courage
to redefine the colors.
black need not be dark, and white need
not be waking,
sleep would be pink at times
and twilight blue.
i do most of the thinking at night
when everyone hides in the darkness of their sleep.
there are colors and sounds and scents.
and i begin to love the variations,
the aberrations have become adventures
and no one in the house knows
no one understands what is happening to my
eyelids, my mouth does not speak
and my eyes,
having seen much, have desired days
to be the place for the dead,
the white mausoleums, the scents of the flowers
for the weary.
i sleep and dream at noontime and
nobody is there anymore to
mind. I am alone and i have began to love
this moment.
my day is dark. my night is light.

I Dream

In day time I dream
And in night I scream
Get nothing on hand
And unnecessarily land

Thoughts make me wonder
To roam around for Adventure
Head feels heavy in next day morning
Like to sleep in day time with little snoring

It happens with all
When receive disturbing call
What to tell and how to react?
Mind is busy with immediate steps to act

Not all people get put of it easily
As solution is not available readily
Many sleepless nights follow
You are desperate and act slow

You fight daily with novel ideas
Make all attempts with several pleas
Yet get no clue as how to get rid off
But it has now become top priority with job

It is daily struggle and life moves on
Sound sleep is now distinct and gone
You are now seized with burning issues
You have no time to go through it and review

I want to be peaceful with events
But can't offer quietly with comments
I have become camel in this desert journey
Where I scream but can't have honey

If one thinks that life can become easy?
It is nice to feel with picture so rosy
But things are different from reality
It may prove decisive if you come out with sheer ability

I may be gone one day
But life may as it is stay
It is endless and continuous
So its fruits are also obvious

Night and Day

Night is bleak and my bed is warm.
Dark is dismal and my home is safe.
Today was torture and happily, I live alone.
The day has ended and I yawn.
The day has ended, but I am holding on.
Today everything went wrong- as it did
Yesterday and the day before.
Nights are dismal and my bed is inviting.
The day is over- I am tired.
I am tired but am trying to keep my eyes open.
I am fighting sleep although
Today was hell on earth.
I can hear voices inside my head saying
“Tomorrow is another day.”
Nighttime is dreary and today was
A fight to stay alive.
Today is over, and I yawn and keep my eyes open.
If tomorrow is another day and
Night is bleak, dark and relentless-
What am I holding onto?
No matter how dismal is the night and
How filled with pain today was-
I cannot let myself fall asleep and awaken, then
Find myself in hell’s brushfire only to
Begin another day…

Everyone likes you.

Oh happy days,
Please stay today.

Oh happy days,
Sweet like honey.

Oh happy days,

Oh happy days,
Giving us strength.

Oh happy days,
Children out playing.

Oh happy days,
On the green grass.

Oh happy days,
With boundless optimism.

Oh happy days,
I give thanks.

Oh happy days,
Dreaming for more.

Oh happy days,
Warm and bright.

Oh happy days,
Like love eternal.

Oh happy days,
And glad memories.

Oh happy days,
New hope prayers.

Oh happy days,
With smiling faces.

Oh happy days,

Tea For One

(page/plant)
How come twenty four hours, baby sometimes seem to slip into days?
Oh twenty-four hours, baby sometimes seem to slip into days
A minute seems like a lifetime, baby when I feel this way
Sittin, lookin at the clock, time moves so slow
Ive been watchin for the hands to move
Until I just cant look no more
How come twenty four hours, baby sometimes seems to slip into days?
A minute seems like a lifetime, baby when I feel this way.
To sing a song for you, I recall you used to say
Oh baby this ones for we two, which in the end is you anyway
How come twenty four hours, baby sometimes slip into days?
A minute seems like a lifetime, baby when I feel this way.
There was a time that I stood tall, in the eyes of other men
But by my own choice I left you woman, and now I cant get back again
How come twenty-four hours, sometimes slip into days?
A minute seems like a lifetime, baby when I feel this way
A minute seems like a lifetime
When I feel this way...i feel this way
