Her Hand in Mine

She was a television star
And famed across the land.
Her beauty made me shout, 'Hoorah! ',
As most would understand.
I recognised her standing there,
Within that High Street store,
As if the answer to my prayer,
My dream girl, that's for sure...

Why she worked there, I couldn't say,
Perhaps her fortune changed...
Yet she looked happy in a way,
As she, some clothes arranged...
When I approached, confessing love,
At first, she merely smiled,
As if as gentle as a dove,
With me, her slave, beguiled...

'Please walk with me...' and she agreed.
We left there side-by-side,
Then suddenly I felt the need
That true love cannot hide...
'I want to hold your hand! ' I said,
To my new Valentine.
As if all shyness from her fled,
She raised her hand to mine.

It felt so warm, her arm did, too,
That's why I stroked her skin
And while it felt so strange to do,
She stood there with a grin...
It was as if she realised,
True love cannot conceal
Emotions if so highly prized,
So precious, new and real...

And so we walked, as if alone,
Nobody else in sight,
No longer walking on our own,
While love was at its height.
Of course, I woke, as morning came,
My dream girl to depart...
Yet I will never be the same,
Nor will my thankful heart...

Listen To Love...

Love sought me out because it cared and asked me what was wrong,
For up till then I hadn't paired, no girl had come along.
The sort of girl guys call 'The One', who's gracious and refined...
And yet is full of life, has fun, and shows she can be kind...

Love sighed with me, it knew the score... Life holds no guarantee...
For in the game some call 'Amour' each heart is fancy free...
'I'll help you out, so don't be sad! ' Love promised me that day!
'That's good of you! ' I said quite glad, my life no longer grey!

'Look out for her, she's coming soon! The dreamgirl you have yearned! '
Relieved I hummed a happy tune, bad fortune overturned...
Love left me there to wait for her... unaided I felt shy...
I wondered, then, what would occur... then my sweetheart walked by!

I grinned, of course, then walked up close, I stood there at her side!
She was gorgeous! God only knows if she would be my bride...
Five minutes passed, we chatted there, within the park that day...
And I felt like a millionaire the day love came my way...

If not for Love that bid me try, I'd never met the girl...
'The One' who says that I'm her guy who set her heart awhirl!
Now I'm the man that folks call blessed, 'You've got a good 'un, there! '
No cause for me to look depressed... My love's beyond compare...

I know that I have never have been as alone

I know that I have
never have been as alone
as at the Strand
that December holiday.

People in love
smiled at each other
everywhere that I looked,

some walked hand in hand,
some sunbathed together,
some splashed into the sea

but there was no you and I
and on that day
my heart was breaking

and I sat on my own
gazing at the deep blue
when a shadow fell on my face.

The sun made her blonde hair gold
and the smile on her face
was innocent and pure

and somewhere in the blue of her eyes
I saw my own pain
and she sat down next to me wordless.

That same morning before I took
the train to the beach
I prayed for someone to understand

and felt so lost from life
and hopeless as if never again
I would make a impression
on somebody beautiful

and she said that tomorrow
will be another day
and that in time
the pain would go

and that girl was really sweet,
we shared some ice cream,
acted as though were in love
and somehow everything felt right
and I never saw that girl again.

Love Working On You

(jim collins/craig wiseman)
You woke up this morning
Changes were taking place
You looked in the mirror
A smile was all over your face
cause out of nowhere
Someone was there
Who dared to climb
Those walls you made
Its exciting, a little frightening
But girl dont you be afraid
Thats just the love working
Love working on you
Thats just the love working
Working on pulling you through
Cant even remember
All the sorrow that you left behind
Its a brand new day
Theres a bright new way
And your tears have turned into wine
You never forget
When your eyes met
Or just how clearly you could see
Where the turns are deep in your heart
That lead you to believe
Thats just the love working
Love working on you
Thats just the love working
Working on pulling you through
All of the while you felt forsaken
And all of the while
Loves been waiting, waiting
Suddenly you see how it could be
If we all only felt this way
And for a while girl you can see this world
Looking through the eyes of fate
Thats just the love working
Love working on you
Thats just the love working
Working on pulling you through
Thats just the love working
Love working on you
Thats just the love working
Working on pulling you through
Thats just the love working on you
Thats just the love working
Working on pulling you through

Just Wanna Be Your Valentine

I just wanna be your valentine, just wanna be your valentine,
Come with where just you and i,
And its the feeling now i just can't hide...

Girl you the only one which not others could,
You the only one, i just wanna be your valentine....

Till the day drops down i will be your noon,
When the sun goes dark i will be your moon...
Just come to me and just hold ma hand,
I will love the same till my world do end...

I just wanna be your valentine, just wanna be your valentine,
Come with me where just you and i,
Its the feeling now i just can't hide...

You the only one which not others could,
You the only one, i just wanna be your valentine...

Will love you till my heart is beating,
Hold you till i'm breathing,
Darling this i swear...
Hold ma hand and lets write this story together,
Will make it last forever,
And let it never end...

Girl just tell me that you mine,
Let our two soul entwine,
This feeling is so divin,
Baby just tell me you will be my valentine...

Just hold me close, tell me you will be in my soul,
When you around, i wish for nothing more...
Just tell me girl you will be my love,
You stole my heart and now its under your control...

I just wanna be your valentine, just wanna be your valentine,
Come with where just you and i,
And its the feeling now i just can't hide...

Girl you the only one which not others could,
You the only one, i just wanna be your valentine....

Dreaming's Art

He could see
that she loved him;

no, more like Idol Worship.

'You' she said
'are the Man of my Dreams
my Prince Charming.

Everything you touch
turns to gold
including me.

I laid down my heart for you
hand pressed my soul for you,
danced round your Maypole
like a young girl in spring.

You populated my every dream;
you in my eyes-
could do no wrong or harm-
you were my dreams' dream.

He: said:
I see now my dear
this was Dangerous Praise
and Deadly Love
at least for me.

I felt in love too
but more with your
image of me,
not as I really was.

And so as not to disappoint
I pretended to believe
the image of me
dancing in your eyes
but in doing so
I participated in
the subterfuge;

creating someone
who was only a facsimile
of the real me
who
then
went into hiding
dreading to be discovered.

To you I was your hero-
the one to up-end every wrong
and we
busily,
both of us,
constructed
white picket fences
in the blue, blue sky.

She:
'I believed you were my superman,
you said so too.'

He:
'I said so because you seemed
to need me to be that fantasy,

and I had no heart to disappoint
that precious dream
you had of me.

She:
'But you did disappoint because I began
to see
that you were not superman
or perfect even.

He:
'And that disappointment in your eyes
was too much for me.
Too much for me to bear.

In time
resentment came
because why should I
live to be another's dream
even the dream of the one I love?

And you too
were not perfection's dream
you too in time
were revealed to me
as merely a woman
a person, not perfect,
not a dream.'

She:
And there we stood the both of us
pouring hurt and harm
on each other as human beings
preferring to cling to our perfect
dream scheme;

even as we came to understand
Misplaced Dreams are not dreams at all

but potential nightmares.

She looked at him,
with her deep, sad eyes
saying:

'Do you think you could love me
if my beauty fades
if my breasts succumb to gravity;
if other women to you
siren call?

He said 'Could you still love me
if in morning light
my paunchy eyes
and thick waist
become pronounced
and lumpy high?

So these two in fading light
allowed themselves
to contemplate
Irony's Twists
and the struggle between
what our dreams want
and who we really are;

so much at stake here
so little it takes
to merely
accept
that dreams are not real;
people are.

This is not to say
dreams must die.

Rather only dream
that dream
which constitutes Love’s Art
which comes with the words:

'I shall love you
til death do us part.'

That too
is a dream:
True,
True Love
imparts.

Her personality? Her identity?

There it is, all of it.
Gone, and never ever coming back, ever.
It felt like she was throwing away her most prized poession.
She wondered what the new one would be like?
Obviously nothing like the old one, she knew that.
No one liked the bubbly, friendly, sweet girl inside her.
Instead they wanted her to be a boring serious woman with no fun in her life,
If that's what you could even call it - a life.
She never understood why her family never liked her personality,
It was who she was, what made her, her identity.
But now they'd changed her.
Her friends never realized the change in her, as while with them she pretended nothing was different and tried to act as normal as before.
To them she was still the girl who found the funny side of everything and the girl who always had a smile on her face.
She wasn't though, it was all an act, for she no longer felt the warm glow deep inside her when she saw the smiling faces of her friends and family, no, now she felt a dark hatred feeling like something was missing or lost,
And to find it she must find herself, her true identity.
What was her true identity? The question stuck midway on her tongue.
Never to be spoken, yet never to disappear.

Jessica

I fell in love the other day
And what a day it was!
Across the room I saw her pray
Beneath a golden cross...
When I saw her, I couldn't move,
My heartbeat simply raced...
Then suddenly it seemed to soothe
And felt more gently paced...
It was as if she were the one,
That special one for me...
And just like me, she praised God's Son
Who died at Calvary...
She saw me staring and she smiled,
As if she felt it, too...
How could that be? I was beguiled,
With thoughts like, 'I love you! '
She walked away, I watched her leave
And yet I hardly stirred...
So much in love and hard to breathe...
I couldn't say a word...
I'd found the greatest love I'd known
With memories so sublime...
Yet foolishly, I stood alone,
Transfixed in space and time...
The mystery then gets bigger,
For God won't give me hints.
I learnt her name was Jessica,
I've never found her since...
She must be meant for someone else,
Yet he won't love like me...
I'll pine for her without farewells
For all eternity...

Waiting... For My Dream Girl

Who is my Dream Girl?
Who is my Dream Girl?

Who is made just for me,
Who is only such girl made by Thee,
Who is no less than an angel,
She is my Dream Girl...She is my Dream Girl.

The moon and the star
Bow down in honour,
Seeing the beauty marvel
She is my Dream Girl...She is my Dream Girl.

The 'Goddess of Beauty'
Who is titled
In the Bible,
She is my Dream Girl...She is my Dream Girl.

Not only for her gorgeous nature,
But also for her beautiful heart like a shinig mirror
Who is worshipped in temple
She is my Dream Girl...She is my Dream Girl.

Who is as purified
As the innocence of a child
From mind nad body, heart and soul,
She is my Dream Girl...She is my Dream Girl.

Who is innocent of anger
Whose sweet voice can never be heard louder,
In front of everyone who is always humble,
She is my Dream Girl...She is my Dream Girl.

Whose eyes so resplendent
Express every feeling hidden,
Who is so much adorable
She is my Dream Girl...She is my Dream Girl.

For whom I am the only one,
Who makes me feel like Heaven,
For whom I am so special,
She is my Dream Girl...She is my Dream Girl.

For whom the courtesy strictly matters,
For her family, from the core of her heart, who cares,
Who can't be more liable
She is my Dream Girl...She is my Dream Girl.

Who can distinguish very well between wrong and right
Who can be the most responsible wife,
The family remains at whose disposal
She is my Dream Girl...She is my Dream Girl.

For whom I am the life,
For whom I survive,
Till my last breath, who is still loveable
She is my Dream Girl...She is my Dream Girl.

Now let Fate, Luck and Time play the game of Love
For they will someday make me meet my Lady Dove,
And for whom I can wait for Time Eternal
She is my Dream Girl...She is my Dream Girl.

Definitive Beauty

When I first saw that special girl, I had to say a prayer...
As if she set my heart a-whirl, I wanted God to share...
Of course He knew just how I felt, as if filled to the brim,
As if my very heart would melt, right there in front of Him...

I told Him straight! She's wonderful! I feel I could propose!
She's like a walking miracle! She fills my heart with prose!
Is she the one, the one for me? Or should I walk away?
With God, there's some uncertainty... His silence makes my day...

Just lost in wonder and in thought, like God's not on the phone,
No way to know when God says nought, it's like you're on your own!
She smiled at me and I smiled, too, but smiles can still deceive...
It's hard to tell with I love you, so what could I believe?

But sad to say, it all went wrong, I left without a friend,
The two of us did not belong, my hopes were at an end...
I still recall her gentle face, my dreams of happiness...
My beauty's in another place... while I know loneliness...

Perhaps her beauty's just skin deep, that sometimes not enough
And yet sweet memories I can keep, my fantasies of love...
I hope God leads her to her man, her husband, given time...
If not, I'll always be her fan... Her beauty was sublime!

Sonnet XXIII: Love's Baubles

I stood where Love in brimming armfuls bore
Slight wanton flowers and foolish toys of fruit:
And round him ladies thronged in warm pursuit,
Fingered and lipped and proffered the strange store.
And from one hand the petal and the core
Savoured of sleep; and cluster and curled shoot
Seemed from another hand like shame's salute,—
Gifts that I felt my cheek was blushing for.
At last Love bade my Lady give the same:
And as I looked, the dew was light thereon;
And as I took them, at her touch they shone
With inmost heaven-hue of the heart of flame.
And then Love said: “Lo! when the hand is hers,
Follies of love are love's true ministers.”

Frog Prince

Roma Ryan
Deep in my dreams,
I saw you close by my side.
And the words you said to me,
made me reel down deep inside.
My hand in your hand,
so warm and so lovingly.
Leaving all my dreams behind,
wonder who my prince will be?
Chorus:
What is this wonder,
that love can make you feel?
Am I deep now in slumber,
or is my prince real?
Now, now my dream,
is standing close by my side.
Saying words I wish to hear,
and I'm reeling deep inside.
Chorus
Morning has come,
my dreams are left far behind.
As I walk through Paris streets,
I know now what I shall find.
This smile on my face,
will carry a love I have known.
Like a fairytale come true,
oh, what joy this love has shown

Romeo's Road To Romance

You gently bid me take your hand, as we walk side-by-side,
As if to walk Love's Wonderland, with all God's grace supplied...
Such that by day, such that by night, God's Word will guide us true,
Such that each heart may take delight in words like, 'I love you...'

You sweetly swing your arms in time, as God permits this hour,
He knows how much this feels sublime, as two hearts feel His power...
If I am yours and you are mine, God's blessings still in store,
Then I will prove your Valentine, both now and evermore...

You have the right to test this man and conscience serves us well,
Enough to fit within God's plan, as best as we can tell...
But know this now... as we hold hands... no diamond rings as yet...
If we must part, God understands, but you I won't forget...

You smile and sunshine fills my soul, you laugh and make me sigh,
You make me doubt all self-control, you make me ask God, 'Why? '
You must know how I seek your kiss, you must know how I feel,
You must know how I see all this, it's bliss... because it's real...

So hold my hand and hold the dream and hold fast, come what may,
As if this time were so supreme, we dare not let it stray...
And let no other come between, no other tear apart...
To prove my love that God has seen, I offer you... my heart...

You Need Love Like I Do (feat. Heather Small)

From The RELOAD Album
Tom Jones with Heather Small
Well, well, well
It seems like it was only yesterday
When my Momma told me dont fall in love with the first girl that comes your way
She was pretty and nice but I took her advice and passed her by
Years have passed and it dont look like loves gonna give me a second try
Boy the look on your face tells me you understand
Could it be your love life, like mine needs a helping hand
Yeah You need love like I do, dont you?
I can tell by the way you look, when Im looking at you
I know it aint fit and proper for a girl to talk this way
But I cant cope with this loneliness, not one more dog-gone day
Every day has been an uphill climb to keeping my hopes afloat
Judging by your silence boy, you must be in the same boat
And again now
You need love like I do, dont you?
I can tell by the way you look, when Im looking at you - well, well, well, well,
You need love like I do, dont you?
It seems like Im looking in the mirror, when Im looking at you
I cant begin to tell how many night times have been all lonely,
Come on tell me girl does it ever happen to you?
Im gonna tell you something and believe me it aint no joke,
My love life is just like a sinking boat
I can understand a person being without money
But surely there isnt a reason for a person to be without love.
Listen to me now; Im a girl and youre a guy
Yes its true
Come on lets give love a try
He he damn
You need love like I do, dont you?
I can tell by the way you look, when Im looking at you
You find that true love is a dream that everyone wants to come true
Cant you see its up to us to make this dream come true
Yeah! You need love like I do, dont you?
I can tell by the way you look, when Im looking at you - well, well, well
You need love like I do, dont you?
Well It seems like Im looking in the mirror, when Im looking at you
Aint it true, Aint it true, Aint it true, Aint it true, Aint it true,
Yes, its true, yes its true, true, true
You need love like I do, dont you?
I can tell by the way you look, when Im looking at you
You need love like I do, dont you?
Well, it seems like Im looking in the mirror, when Im looking at you
You need love like I do, dont you?
I can tell by the way you look, when Im looking at you,
You need love like I do, dont you?
Well It seems like Im looking in the mirror, when Im looking at you.
Aint it true girl, Im in love, Im in love cause I need you, and I need you too.

The Touch Of Your Hand

On the day that you were born
I touched your hand so chubby and warm.

I touched your hand when you were one
and helped you walk my beautiful son.

I held your hand when you were two.
We ran, your favorite thing to do.

I held your hand when you were three
as you climbed on my lap and smiled at me.

I touched your hand when you were four
as the ocean touched our toes at the shore.

I touched your hand when you were five
walking you to school but when we'd arrive

I felt the tug of your hand from mine
and I knew that we had crossed a line.

I looked at you and released your hand
and said'it's okay I understand.'

As I walked back home I cried some tears
thinking of all our hand holding years.

Holding your hand became sporadic now,
when you were feverish or I felt your brow.

I held your hand a few times as a teen
but always alone so it wouldn't be seen.

I held your hand after you said, 'I do.'
We danced together just me and you.

After some years went by my son
you held the hand of your little one.

And so the times of your life turn around
and now that my hand is old I've found

you take my hand and help me walk
and as you do we intimately talk.

And it takes me back to that bright early morn
when I held your hand so chubby and warm.

Hand In Hand, Come Lets Love...

A dream it was, just a dream-
we were walking together with hand in hand
towards the Sun set where the sky and the earth
seemed to be holding together

you the emotional and impractical was arguing,
that they were destined to be together as we do-
me the practical with rationale was saying,
that for all eternity it can't be true;

we have walked a long way, the Sun has left the horizon
and the moon has taken his place with a gleam,
still we walked together with hand
in hand, into places unknown,

hoping to know, what's there at the end of the ends
and at the farthest of the farthest places-
each one trying to prove the other wrong, but wanna
see it for ourselves, with what's there after all-

blessed by thee, do they get to be together
or are they cursed to not to be
for all the distance we have walked together
and all the places left behind

the sky and the earth still seemed to be holding
together in the end of the ends and in the farthest
of the farthest places; so we were, holding ourselves
together with hand in hand, walking with stride to stride;

love is not there to be found or to be sought,
it is there to be lived, in every walk we walk
and every hold we hold, come what may, with hand
in hand together forever!

- to my love

Supergirl, Remember Me?

The first time we met, she stood before me,
She spoke just as I was looking,
Not knowing her before that time.
She was suddenly so close to me,
There and merely a few feet from me,
Her face deserving more fascination,
As my mind took in her every word.
I hadn't heard the first words at all,
My eyes taking in her super beauty...
The twisting curling waterfalls,
Her precious cascading golden hair...
Her blue eyes looking straight at me,
As if I held some importance to her...
Her sweet lips moved quite quickly,
Her words bombarded my ears,
Suddenly my mind understood...
And I asked her, 'Please start over...'

She looked confused at that request,
But I explained how she affected me,
She smiled at my honest compliment,
Yet she needed some information...
How strange that my answer was so easy,
I could have told her in seconds,
But then she'd say farewell and be gone,
Thus not fitting love's purpose...
I asked if I told her, would I see her again?
Would she soon return to talk once more?
Or would she never return, leaving me,
Forever like this, being affected by her...
'Tell me what I need to know...' she said,
'I will return to you soon, right here...
We can talk! ' she promised, with a smile,
A smile that took my breath away...
In seconds, being told, she left me, lonely...

I waited there as the hours passed...
Returning each day with a rose bouquet
Of red, yellow and blue roses for her.
Days passed, then I saw her flying overhead.
'Supergirl, remember me? ' I shouted to her...
In a heartbeat, she stood beside me...
She kissed my lips, said, 'TOMORROW! '
Then she and the roses were gone...
Today has come... her promise kept...
She kissed me again, lifting me high...
Then clear across the pure blue sky...
Landing together, some private place...
Walking hand-in-hand upon that beach,
With me thinking it but a dream,
Yet too beautiful for a dream to be,
Because that's how it felt to me...

Love all consuming, engulfing,
Surrounding, swirling, revolving,
Involving every heightened sense,
Controlling every heartfelt hope...
I wondered if she felt that way
Upon this brilliant sunshine day,
That Supergirl could like me, too,
Maybe someday say, 'I love you! '
Undeserving of this Supergirl,
Yet somehow love returned...
What luck is this in all the world,
This joy I haven't earned?
She speaks of Krypton far away,
A distant world so grand...
Yet there she stands upon my left,
As we walk hand-in-hand...

The Girl Who Is Me

Me
A simple word
Yet at the same time
Complicated
Describes a girl who was born
On the 25th of June in 1994
A girl who was two days early

Me
The girl who would
Walk down the street carrying Barney
And holding mommy’s hand
And as she walked in the store
The clerks would ask her
If she was ready for her daily m&m’s

Me
The girl who thought
She was betrothed at five
The girl who got into kindergarten early
Because she was “smart”
The girl who couldn’t tell at first
Whether her first best friend
Was a boy or a girl
Because her hair was so short

Me
The girl who always got good grades
The girl whose reading level
Was above average
The girl who was in love
With beanie babies

Me
The girl who felt trapped
By the arms of her father
The girl who had to
Change the weekends
So that she could stop the sickness

Me
The girl who went to seventh grade
Ready to have fun
And make new friends
The girl who went all through
Junior high with nothing less
Than A’s and B’s

Me
The girl who started high school
With fear of failure
The girl who soon found out
That it wasn’t all that bad

Me
The girl who got hurt
By someone else’s mistake
The girl who, for the longest time
Thought maybe she should
Just give up
But refused to anyway
Even though it was easy
Me

Don't Leave Me Now I'm In Love

Come and sit a while with me and talk
I need to have a word before you walk
Just before you go let me explain
That I love you
I know that this may come as a surprise
How do you think I felt when I realised?
It hit me like a bolt out of the sky
That I love you
You said that you were moving on
Come Saturday that you'd be gone
I thought of life without you and I cried
So finally I know who I
Am gonna love for all my life
So say you'll be mine
Please say I can change your mind
Don't leave, don't leave now I'm in love
Don't walk away from something that could have been so good
Don't leave, don't leave me now I know
I'll love you for forever, for all the stars above
Don't leave now I'm in love
Looking back on all the opportunity
I didn't have a clue that the girl was me
So listen to me now that things have changed
I love you
So suddenly my fate is sealed
'Cos only can make it real
So say you'll be mine
Please say I can change your mind
So don't leave, don't leave now I'm in love
Don't walk away from something that could have been so good
Don't leave, don't leave me now I know
I'll love you for forever, for all the stars above
Don't leave now I'm in love
Give me a chance to hold close 'cos...
I wanna feel that you're a part of me
Know how it feels to love you tenderly
Know that I'll never have to let you go
Don't leave me now I know
Don't leave me now I'm sure
Don't leave now I'm in love

I Can Love You

Yahooooooooooo
They rated cinderella
You hoped it would come true
That one day your prince charming
Would come rescue you
You like romantic movies
And you never will forget
The way you felt when romeo kissed juilet
And all this time that youve been waiting
You dont have to wait no more...
Chorus:
I can love you like that
I would make you my world
With heaven and earth
If you were my girl
I would give you my heart
Be all that you need show you youre everything thats precious to me
If you give me a chance
I can love you like that (I can love you like that x2)
I never make a promise I dont intend to keep
So when I say forever, forever is what I mean
Well Im no casanova but I swear this much is true
Ill be holding nothing back when it comes to you
You dream of love that is ever lasting
Ohhhhhoooo
Well baby open up your eyes
Chorus:
I can love you like that
I would make you my world
With heaven and all
If you were my girl
I would give you my heart
Be all that you need
Show you youre everything thats precious to me
If you give me a chance
I can love you like that (I can love you like that)
If you want tenderness (tendernes, tenderness)
I got tenderness(tenderness)
And I see through to the heart of beauty
If you want a married man who will understand
You dont have to look very far
I can love you
Girl..i can love you
I can love you like that
I would make you my world
With heavan and earth
If you were my girl
I would give you my heart
Be all that you need
Show you youre everything thats precious to me
I can love you like that
I would mak you my world
With heaven and earth
If you were my girl
I would give you my heart
Show you youre everything (oh youre everything)
Love you like that
Make you my world
Heaven and all
If you were my girl
I would give you my heart
Ohhhoooo
