Cross Examined

Of all the trees God ever made, one tree was set apart,
For on that tragic tree was laid the Saviour's beating heart...
The tree would lift the Lord on high upon that fateful day,
When Jesus Christ was meant to die, to take Man's sins away...

And there He was before the crowd, who mocked Him to His face,
As God prepared for Him a shroud when taken from that place...
Golgotha was its awful name, the hill the skull was seen,
That was its only claim to fame... except the Nazarene...

Upon the Cross a sign was nailed which vainly called Him king,
Yet to that crowd, the Lord had failed to change a single thing.
The Romans ruled, so no change there, the Jews were merely slaves
And Jesus Christ was lost in prayer, before His death He braves.

One thief believed, the rest did not, why trust in Paradise?
Christ said He was the way to God, the holy sacrifice.
His hour came, He breathed His last, they took His body down.
The crowd departed still aghast, while I picked up His crown...

It fell to me, and how I wept... His Blood still on each briar.
That night I prayed, I never slept, for hatred turned to fire.
They beat Him up, they scourged His back, they nailed Him high above
And even then, when all looked black, He prayed for them with love.

I mourned for days, then heard it said, the Saviour was alive!
Yet still I prayed beside my bed, for how could He survive?
The rumours went from street to street as if from friend to friend.
Such that each person I would meet hoped this was not the end...

I'll wait and see... I'll follow John and James and Peter, too.
If true, I'll tell you later on... Till then what can I do?

Calvary

The Cross of Christ laid on the ground
And Jesus closed His eyes,
His beating heart the only sound
That He could realise...
They held Him down and nailed Him fast
As He screamed out in pain,
His blood ran cold, for now, at last,
He knew He would be slain...
The Cross of Christ was hoisted up,
With Him, the Romans' toy,
They offered Him the drug-filled cup,
Some mercy to employ...
But He refused to dull the ache,
The horror and the fear,
He knew the sacrifice to make
And kept it pure and clear...
The Cross of Christ was where He stayed,
No angels rescued Him,
They humbly watched as Christ obeyed
Before God's seraphim...
The Father stared from Heaven's Throne,
At Christ who wore a crown,
Forced there by Roman hearts of stone,
Now gambling for His gown...
The Cross of Christ was hid from sight
As God's Love looked away
And turned that sacred day to night
As He kept tears at bay...
One angel wept, then all joined in
And God wept tears as well.
This was the sacrifice for sin...
So we'd not go to Hell...
The Cross of Christ was where He died,
That place called Calvary,
That green hill far away supplied,
That haunts eternity...
That day when Mary's heartbeat stopped
In unison yet lived,
That time the Saviour's head had dropped,
With death His precious gift...
The Cross of Christ still bore His Blood,
Though Christ was in His tomb
And God observed that holy flood,
With hatred and with gloom...
Yet Christ had prayed, forgive them all,
They know not what they do...
So God sent preachers like Saint Paul,
Because Christ died... for you...

Jesus Or Barabbas?

Barabbas stood before the crowd,
Then Pontius Pilate spoke,
'One freed prisoner I'm allowed! '
And yet it was no joke.
The King rejected was Jesus,
Still crowned with bloodied thorns.
Then they selected Barabbas,
From whom all hatred spawns.

The Nazarene was led away,
To climb Golgotha's hill...
Barabbas didn't choose to stay
To watch another kill.
He'd seen enough of Roman death
And vowed revenge and more
And yet Jesus of Nazareth
Was so hard to ignore...

A trail of blood led to the Cross...
And there God's Son was nailed...
And though divine, He stayed because
God's faith in Him prevailed.
His Mother, Mary, mourned and mourned
As hours slowly passed...
And while the wicked scorned and scorned,
The sky was overcast.

In twilight now, as darkness fell,
A faithful thief thought twice.
When Jesus rescued him from Hell,
He promised Paradise.
That very day, as Jesus said,
Both souls would soon depart
And just to check if Christ was dead,
They pierced Him through the heart.

But God was faithful to His Son...
Christ left His shroud behind!
Through Easter, we know Christ has won
Salvation for Mankind!
Forgiveness granted through God's plan!
Christ's blood has proved enough!
Behold the Cross! Behold the Man!
Behold the King of Love...

The Belief Of A Thief

Behold the cruel cross of Christ!
Two lost souls balanced there!
But only one thief realised
Christ was beyond compare!
Consider three men hoisted high,
Secured, nowhere to go...
Yet Jesus knew why He must die
And why He suffered so...

Behold the Man, the Son of God,
Whom Judas had betrayed,
The Saviour, Jesus, shedding blood
For sinners who had strayed...
Good Shepherd dying for His sheep,
Indeed, the Sinners' Friend,
While John and Mary vigil keep,
Until the very end!

Behold the crowd at safety's length,
Accepting what was done
And witness to the fading strength
Of victims one-by-one...
Yet suddenly, one thief had faith,
Beyond this deadly hour,
When He asked Jesus Christ to save,
Acknowledging His power!

'Remember me, when You receive
Your Kingdom when You die! '
Lord Jesus said, 'This day we leave...
To Paradise, we fly! '
Like them, we know that death is near,
Yet Heaven waits above!
The Gospel Truth is crystal clear...
In Christ, the King of Love!

The Sacred Sacrifice

Jerusalem, what could you see
When Jesus met His end?
For things were borne of secrecy
On that we can depend...
Tortured teacher, ripped Rabboni,
Lamentful Lamb of God,
God's Son who died for you, for me,
Who shed His own life's blood...

Love beaten, scourged and crucified,
Submitting to control,
The Sinner's Friend was He who died
To save each tainted soul...
No easy task, one heart to bear,
Yet Jesus paid the price,
Upon the Cross of Christ in prayer,
His sacred sacrifice...

And not enough till all was done,
Each prophecy fulfilled,
Such that we know Christ was God's son
When all had been revealed...
Thus Mary wept amid the crowd
When Christ was taken down,
Her righteous tears fell on His shroud
Still blood-stained from His crown...

His body lifted, borne away,
Amid the gruesome gloom,
Light of the world at end of day
Lay resting in His tomb...
No more the touring teacher known
To travel to and fro,
He humbly lay there all alone,
Apart from friend or foe...

But we know now, Lord Jesus lives,
To fight the good fight still
And that through Him our God forgives,
If we but do His will...
And this is why forgiveness spreads
Across both time and space,
For every time we bow our heads,
God sees our Saviour's face...

Good Friday...

Behold the wood that went to make the cross
That bore the Saviour Lord, King Jesus Christ:
The holy cross at Calvary on which
Was hung, the Redeemer of mankind race!

That man was only Son of God in flesh,
Who suffered, shed His precious blood as price
For every sin of everyone on earth,
Of Adam and of Eve in lineage!

It wasn’t about the cross that Jesus bore;
It was about the One who hung on it!
He came to earth as Mary’s baby boy,
And gave to men the Good News, peace and joy!

The cross of wood assumed significance
When Jesus died upon it for our sins;
The sacrifice supreme was love of God
For creature man of clay whom He had made!

When Christ resurrected upon third day,
And won o’er death and satan for all times,
The holy cross became the weapon sole
That scares away the devils back to hell!

The cross became the symbol of Christians,
Reminding man of Salvation for all,
As Christ had paid the price on our behalf,
And turned to be the Truth, Light, Way to God!

The holy cross beckons each one of us
To take up each one’s cross and follow Christ;
It is the only hope for all mankind
As life on earth becomes so meaningful!

God’s Love was born on Christmas day as Christ!
Man’s sins nailed Him to death upon the cross!
Christ’s obeisance to Father freed mankind
If repentant, from Fiery Pit of hell!

Reflect on passions Christ had undergone,
Before He died upon the holy cross;
Follow His teachings and precepts for man;
Heaven is nigh for sinners penitent!

Don't Peter Out

Before the Saviour met His end upon the Cross of Christ,
He washed the feet of each close friend, for each was highly prized.
Though Peter looked and stared amazed at what God's Son would do,
Such love for him was not embraced, 'I should do this for You! '

Yet Jesus said he must be clean, his soul was in great need...
This was God's time to intervene, so Peter then agreed...
Yet this same friend denied the Lord, 'I do not know this man! '
His coward soul proved him a fraud... How could he know God's plan?

His expectations led astray, his hopes completely crushed...
To him, it was like Judgment Day, now humbled, he was hushed...
Yet Jesus prayed that he might stand and rise above it all...
One day to hold Christ's holy hand and preach as bold as Paul...

You've lost someone, I've lost someone... Like Peter, we've all wept...
Yet through it all, let's love God's Son, the promises He's kept...
So count your blessings in the Lord... Salvation here and now!
That's why we stand in Christ assured, that's why we kneel and bow...

Yes, there's a God and God is love, no God has greater worth...
His grace for us is quite enough, more grace than we deserve.
Life isn't always Sunday School... We must withstand the knocks!
Just trust in God! He's not a fool... God thinks outside the box!

The Precious Purpose Of Prayer

Think not that prayers aren't heard above,
God has a heart of gold...
And He has heard the King of Love,
The day Christ's Blood ran cold...
Through Christ alone, God's mercy flows
In Christian hearts like mine...
Who sense the debt each sinner owes
To Him who is divine...

At night, before His hour came,
The Son of God bled fast,
When fears beset His mortal frame
And He stood there aghast...
He prayed beyond His fragile thoughts,
Now humbled, on His knees...
This King of Kings, this Lord of Lords,
This Christ, the Prince of Peace...

As servant of the Lord Most High,
He sought His destiny!
Was He to live, was He to die?
If death, then Calvary!
No easy death, no great escape,
No mercy from His foes...
His body whipped, bent out of shape,
Such truths God only knows...

The choice was plain, no turning back.
By faith, He went ahead...
To face a future, oh, so black,
That He was good as dead...
With firm resolve, He now stood tall,
Because He understood...
Obedient to His Father's call,
So brave, so bold, so good...

Thus Judas kissed the Son of Man
With Christ betrayed that day,
Who prophesied God had a plan
To take Man's sins away!
Thus Jesus went from place to place
For men to choose His fate...
For rogues to beat His precious face
And scoff and celebrate...

But Christ faced more than fists and whips,
As Calvary drew near...
To leave behind His Blood that drips
And mingles with each tear...
For there, the precious Saviour prayed,
Forgiveness to implore,
Of God, who watched such things dismayed
And wept for Him for sure...

Think not that prayers aren't heard above,
God has a heart of gold...
And He has heard the King of Love,
The day Christ's Blood ran cold...
Through Christ alone, God's mercy flows
In Christian hearts like mine...
Who sense the debt each sinner owes
To Him who is divine...

The Might Of The Messiah!

From Heaven's glory Jesus went
To save the world below
And fulfilling each commandment
Meant holy blood must flow...
As Jesus prayed that He be spared,
God's angel strengthened Him,
Such that He stood, no longer scared,
With faith filled to the brim!

The greatest story ever told
Was of the King of Kings,
As Jesus shed His blood like gold,
Behold how His back stings...
While still alive, His body torn,
A crown of thorns above,
They mocked the Saviour so forlorn,
With scorn instead of love...

Behold the Man! The crowd was cruel,
His kingship tattered now,
Such that their wisdom thought Him fool,
Not worthy of a bow...
Yet Jesus knew what lay ahead
And prophesied as much,
To say that He, when He was dead,
Would rise... and stay in touch...

The soldiers guarded in the gloom,
Where Jesus' shroud was laid,
They slept as God moved rock from tomb...
The news made folks afraid!
Disciples met the Saviour soon,
Thus Thomas praised the Lord,
When forced to sing another tune
That must not be ignored...

The might of the Messiah lives!
The Holy Spirit's gift
Is granted as the Lord forgives,
When true faith heals the rift...
That's why the Holy Bible's read
By billions here on Earth,
For what's in store and dead ahead
As Israel proves his worth...

The time shall come when Christ returns,
The whole wide world to own
And that's what every student learns
Who seeks what God has shown...
The world made new, no idle boast,
Yet Jesus, make things right!
Return with God's angelic host
With power and with might!

Silver Tears Yet Golden Years

Our babies' tears are commonplace,
They cry at anything...
Yet when I looked at Christ's sad face,
Those tears were from a king...
Not just a king, not just a lord,
But total royalty...
And from His death, I stood assured,
Because He died for me...

Disciples know sins have a price,
An innocent must die...
With Christ, a willing sacrifice,
The cost to Him was high...
With no way out, He shed His Blood,
To mingle with His tears...
Forgiveness through the Son of God
That trickles through the years...

A billion prayers are prayed each day
By saints across the world,
Declaring Jesus is The Way,
Triumphant, arms unfurled...
With miracles for young and old,
With prophecies so true,
To be fulfilled as good as gold
And visions meant for you...

Behold, the challenge! Save the lost!
Declare Good News to all,
Lord Jesus Christ has paid the cost!
Explained by Brother Paul...
Like John and James and Peter taught,
In Bible books preserved,
Our precious souls by Christ were bought,
By God's grace, through His Word...

No man can boast he saved his soul
With sins against his name,
For sins when he lost self-control
That cause his conscience shame,
Yet Jesus takes those sins away!
As far from East to West,
His Royal Pardon saves the day!
Through Him, this world is blessed...

But who believes God's great Good News?
Salvation! Saved by faith!
Made plain to Gentiles and to Jews,
So that they might be brave...
Enough to kneel, to pray, to yield,
To trust in Christ the King...
Obedient to God's grace revealed...
To me, that's everything!

When Christ returns, who will He find
Who's faithful to the end?
Who wants to leave this world behind
And join Him as their friend,
To leave their house, their street, their town,
The planet Earth below...
Past silver tears still falling down
For golden years to know?

The Resurrection Changes Everything

The Resurrection changes everything, through the power of Jesus Christ,
As Christ becomes our Lord and King, giving all Believers brand new life.
To Him we lift up our praise and sing, for us He came to be our sacrifice,
Christ destroyed death with its sting, and prepared us a place in Paradise.

This change begins first in our heart, when in Jesus Christ we do believe,
Then from Heaven Christ will impart, His Spirit, for all believers to receive.
From our being, Christ will not depart, as new life in us He does conceive,
In The Savior change has its start; by the Resurrection new life is achieved.

Through God’s Resurrection power, Jesus Christ’s body could not remain,
And believers live each day and hour, New Life through the Savior’s name.
As new life on us Christ shall shower, we no longer live our lives the same,
Now living for Him we do not cower, through Christ’s Resurrection change,

In the power of Christ’s Resurrection, believers now live life the narrow way,
A new life that was not our selection, but we live for Christ now day to day.
We’ve been called through His election, no matter what other men may say,
And ordained by God a new direction, upon a course, Christ helps us stay.

Friend, everything is changed by God, when New Life in Christ has begun,
As we live life upon this earthly sod, all believers live to Glorify God’s Son,
Lead by Christ every step we trod, we become God’s witness to everyone,
Guided by The Lord’s staff and rod, until our work upon this earth is done.

Give Thanks in All Things

The hardest lesson that I've learned helped make me what I am.
It felt so hard, at first I turned away from Christ, God's Lamb.
For there He was, upon the Cross, in total agony.
While I looked on, in total loss, aghast at Calvary...

But then God's Spirit helped me stay, six hours long and more.
I watched the seconds pass away, I watched Christ's Blood outpour...
I watched as John and Mary wept... My heart as numb as stone.
And slowly was our vigil kept, so Christ was not alone...

Lord Jesus promised Paradise to one thief by His side,
The other thief was not so wise, yet all were crucified
And on that day, Christ breathed His last, His life came to an end
And those who loved Him felt downcast as they lost their best friend.

I've never wept like that before, to me, He was God's Prince.
He preached and thrilled me to the core, now He died for my sins.
When Sunday came, I heard the news, He'd risen from the dead!
In Christ, God's message to the Jews, believe in Him who bled...

God's Spirit taught me prophecies, that's why I preach God's word.
Believe in Christ, the Prince of Peace, the Lamb of God preferred.
Give thanks in all things here on Earth and do the things you should.
Give thanks with love for all you're worth, because the Lord is good.

Is God In The Picture?

Is The Lord God in your picture, or is God just a religious fixture?
Friend is Jesus Christ real to you, involved in all you say and do?
Or does The Lord God have no part, in your life or in your heart?
Has Jesus Christ become your boss, or just an Icon on a cross?

God dear friend is real indeed; who’s there for all in time of need.
You may still have Him on a cross, where He died for all the lost,
But He’s no longer upon that tree; He rose again for you and me.
God dear friend is Jesus Christ, who died to bring us Eternal Life.

Jesus Christ became a Sacrifice, to pay for men an eternal price,
The price was God’s Only Son, who paid sin’s debt for everyone.
For on that day our debt was paid, when all sin on Christ was laid.
God did this so men could know, God in Heaven who loves us so.

Christ does not need you or me, to rule and reign for all Eternity,
God is truly real dear friend; Christ is the Beginning and the End.
And even if you don’t believe, Christ loved you friend on Calvary,
However, you must believe in Him, for God to forgive all your sin.

Why turn your back on the love, of God who’s reigning up above?
Why not trust Christ who died, now reigning at The Father’s side?
Won’t you today embrace The One, God who gave His Only Son?
Why don’t you friend believe today, in God’s only everlasting way?

His Will, Not Mine

Friend, when I face a mountain high, I look to The Lord up in the sky,
God changes mountains into hills, as God changes things as He wills.
Friend, even if my path seems long, I know that I am where I belong,
For God has planned my path for me, it’s one that ends up in Eternity.
His will for me in this present life, is to follow the steps of Jesus Christ.

And our Lord’s earthly path my friend, had indeed a very tragic end,
“Not my will” He said that day, as His Father’s will was the only way.
This is God’s will for us indeed, as we must follow The Savior’s lead.
As I am crucified with Christ you see, I don’t live, but He lives in me.
Friend, now my life I live for God, this in each and every day I trod.

When I pass through waters friend, I remember Christ’s tragic end,
When the waters get too deep, it was on that cross He died for me.
And when they become a flood, it was for me that He spilt His Blood.
It’s the power from His sacrifice, that sustains me in the waters of life,
So that in my life men may see, that it’s The Lord Jesus living in me.

For my friend God’s will in my life, is to be for Him a living sacrifice.
Christ gives me the power to fulfill, not mine, but God’s Eternal Will.
So when I face a river or a hill, I know that it’s God’s Sovereign Will.
Soon Christ will come for His own, to take us to our Heavenly Home,
Safe at last with The Lord we’ll be, to be with Christ through Eternity.

Do You Know?

Do you know God’s Only Son, His choice in Who our victory’s won?
Our victory over death and sin, the victory that is only found in Him.
Do you know His Son Jesus Christ, Who died to give us all New Life?
For Jesus Christ died upon that tree, to give New Life to you and me.
Do you have, friend, Eternal Life, attained only through Jesus Christ?
A life with Christ in which to spend, up in Heaven, that will never end.

Do you have inside a lasting peace, deep within, that will not cease?
A peace beyond our understanding, when our life becomes demanding.
Do you have Eternal peace with God, so not to fear Christ’s Iron Rod?
For God’s Judgment will one day come, upon all who oppose His Son.
Are you under the blood of The Lamb, Who died to redeem every man?
For man’s repentance is God’s desire, to save all men from eternal fire.

Do you know The Savior friend, when life down here comes to an end?
For all things end within this life, however, things go on in Jesus Christ.
Do you have hope beyond this earth, Hope that comes from New Birth?
Your hope is sure in Christ my friend, the moment you are Born Again.
In Jesus Christ will you be found, when we hear the last trumpet sound?
At the moment we’re changed on high, in the simple twinkling of an eye.

Do you have a room prepared for you, one which has an Eternal view?
A room for you is prepared by Christ, for you to enjoy your Eternal Life.
Do you have full assurance friend, that you will see Christ in the end?
If Christ prepares a place for you, He will come again to be with you.
Are you destined for the clouds, when He comes for His Holy crowd?
For He will come to take you there, when Christ meets you in the air.

Be Prepared With a Reason

Be prepared in and out of season, to give all men a heartfelt reason,
For all the peace you have within, through the hope you have in Him.
The Hope we have in Jesus Christ, the sure hope of an Eternal Life,
An Eternal Life with Christ our Lord, in Heaven with Him forevermore.

We must point all men to the cross, that place of comfort for the lost,
Where Christ had died for all of us, where all believers put their trust.
Friend, our trust is in The Sacrifice, of God’s Only Son, Jesus Christ,
The Sinless Lamb for sinful men, The Lord who died for all my friend.

Christ gives to believers a New Birth, while we’re still upon this earth,
Upon the moment that we believed, The Holy Spirit we then received.
The Spirit was sent by Jesus Christ, for guiding us in this present life,
To guide us through all the years, until that day when Christ appears.

Friend, all our hope is found in Him, The One who died for all our sin,
And this hope we have my friend, unlike life on earth, shall never end.
When Christ died and rose again, He secured eternal life for all men,
And very soon Believers shall rise, to meet our Lord above the skies.

Friend, our Hope is really a guarantee, that we shall live for Eternity,
The Hope in what we can not see, through Christ will become reality.
And this Hope is for all my friend, for life on this earth is not the end,
Today put your hope in Jesus Christ, and you will inherit Eternal Life.

Praise The Cross Of Jesus

Today I praise the cross of Jesus, where He died and bled for me.
For on that very cross of Jesus, His bloody death has set me free.
Christ came to die for all of us, upon that bloody cross of Calvary.
And upon Him I place my trust, from this day through all Eternity.

It was upon the cross of Christ, that He came to die so I could live.
Christ came to offer to us His life, the gift His Father chose to give.
Jesus came to be our sacrifice, so that all our sins God will forgive.
It is through the blood of Jesus Christ, that I can now eternally live.

Nothing was done on my part, but to accept Christ and to believe.
Christ even moved upon my heart, with The Spirit that I received.
New Life in me He would start, the life The Spirit would conceive.
And for me, a message to impart, for New Life you must believe.

You must believe in Jesus Christ, who came to save you and me.
He sent The Spirit into this strife, to give us eyes so we could see,
That Jesus came to give men life, so that they could live eternally.
This life is found in Jesus Christ, and is from the blood of Calvary.

Friend, there is only but one name, that men can lift up and raise,
For no common man can claim, any credit and seek men’s praise.
No man’s glory and or fame, can compare to The Ancient of Days.
And Jesus Christ is the only name, that by all men will be praised.

John & Elvis Are Dead

Close friend of mine as a child fell into a slumber
No sign of life since '75
Then one day he just, what do you know
I guess God just called his number
He called me up he called me up and said
I've been awake about a week
I'm thinking about asking the doctor
If he could put me back to sleep
Then he laughed and said
Hey all the girls they look the same
Don't they know just what their mothers
Paid in blood, and tears to change
But the words that made me cry
The thing he softly said
It stayed with me, it keeps messing with my head
He said, If Jesus Christ is alive and well
Then how come John & Elvis are dead?
Youth, beautiful youth
We walked through the walls until we found the truth
And said Change it, it's ugly just change it
Everyone we used to know
Must have given up, so long ago
You can see it, it's written on their faces
And the inside of their clothes
But the words that made me cry
'Cos I knew just what they meant
He turned to me and said
Hey boy, if Jesus Christ is alive and well
Then how come John & Elvis are dead?
Tell me if Jesus Christ is alive and well
Then how come Marvin & Elvis are dead?
I said If Jesus Christ is going to save us from ourselves
How come peace, love and Elvis are dead?

He’s Done So Much For Me

The Lord has done so much for me, and He started it upon a tree,
Where Christ Jesus was crucified, when for all of our sins He died.
But from the grave He rose again, and became Hope for all men.
The resurrection of Jesus Christ, is the hope of all for Eternal Life.
He appeared to men as God’s proof, validating The Word of Truth.
And The Truth has set me free, from Christ’s work upon that tree.

He sent The Spirit upon the earth, to guide all men to a new birth.
Through The Spirit He teaches us, Eternal Truths men can trust.
He guides me every day my friend, with His promise for the end,
A promised home prepared for me, to dwell with Him for Eternity.
Christ is always by my side, supplying a peace that’s not denied.
Christ’s sent Eternal Peace, sealed by The Spirit, shall not cease.

Christ ascended to His Authority, His Throne above for all Eternity,
There Christ intervenes for those, who believed and know He rose.
When He ascended to His Throne, Christ left me not here all alone,
He sent The Spirit into my heart, who then gave my life a new start.
To me The Holy Spirit He did impart, who now lives within my heart.
He goes with me along the way, to guide and protect me every day.

Friend it was for me that Jesus Christ, became an atoning sacrifice.
He was a bloody sacrifice of Love, pleasing to His Father up above.
Christ was mocked and crowned, and he was buried in the ground.
Where all my sins were buried too, no longer in The Father’s view.
Christ lived and died on my behalf, so that I would not suffer wrath.
Instead it will be life ahead for me, as I reign with Christ for eternity.

He bestows upon me His Power, through each day and every hour.
In my weakness His Power flows, as His Strength within me grows.
His Strength He always gives to me, whether in riches or in poverty.
For all my riches are in Jesus Christ, not in this temporal fleeting life.
Eternal Riches are found in Him, Christ who saved me from my sin.
Christ alone is my Eternal Reward, thus I end with Thank You Lord.

At Just The Right Time

My friend, at just the right time, God showed a love you can’t deny.
He paid to men the ultimate price, by sending His Son as a sacrifice.
A sacrifice for all the world to see upon the hill known as Calvary.
There Christ died upon a cross for both the righteous and the lost.

However, the righteous could not see that He came to set them free.
Freed from the curse of sin, and this freedom is only found in Him.
He became a curse for you and me, for cursed is anyone upon a tree.
But the righteous would have no part, for they had a hardened heart.

No greater love to commend than one who gives his life for a friend.
One may die for a friend in need, but, who would die for an enemy?
And that’s what His love did show, as Christ died for friend and foe.
He came down from Heaven above to save the unrighteous with His Love.

The world was so loved by The Lord that wrath upon Christ was poured.
The wicked cross by Christ was endured to reconcile man to The Lord.
Payment for sin was paid in full, so with Christ we could eternally rule.
A place in The Kingdom you will receive if you trust God and believe.

Believe and you won’t perish, just embrace the cross that we cherish.
If you confess that Jesus is Lord and believe that He was restored,
Restored to life from the grave, and my friend, you shall be saved.
And through The Lord Jesus Christ, you shall have Everlasting Life.

The Day The Devil Lost

The Devil tried his level best
The day that Jesus died,
But even he was so hard pressed,
Temptations every side...
The multitude had swayed like corn
From love to fear then hate,
To see Lord Jesus so forlorn,
As if no longer great...

The evidence against Him stood,
Yet witnesses were mixed,
But finally they did no good,
As if their words were fixed...
When Pilate met the beaten Lord
He saw no victory,
Nor was the crowd as overawed...
Barabbas was set free...

The Devil then had no way out
Unless Christ wavered now,
Yet Jesus walked beyond their doubt,
His crown upon His brow...
The Cross was now His sacrifice,
Would Jesus die or not?
Would Jesus falter and think twice
Or just submit to God?

The hours left yet Jesus stayed,
No angels to appear,
No rescue bid as Christ obeyed
Till death was oh so near...
His Blood fell down upon the Earth
As Jesus paid sins' cost,
The day the Saviour proved His worth...
The day the Devil lost...
