A Year Full Of Memories

Man begins the year after a cold Winter
And in need of hope and revival...
He welcomes the early splendour of new buds
For they serve as the heralds of new life...
Daffodils brighten up a faded garden
And therefore bless us in a spiritual way,
Just as the sight of the first butterfly...
A flitting red admiral can make us smile,
Thrill us and fill our hearts with wonder.

Summer holidays are known for children at play.
The 'orrible 'omework is finished for a while!
Outside the house is a brave new world!
The glorious garden is now a place to party!
The sunshine treasure trove starts early
And though it fades late in the evening
It still retains its welcomed warmth...

Autumn has its own treasure trove, the harvest,
Gleaned from a generous Mother Earth.
Once upon a time this was a special event,
It galvanised a community into action -
As the harvest was safely gathered in...
Beyond the open scenario of the stripped fields,
The trees are conserving their strength.
They are retreating their life's blood...
Spindly branches clawing it back into themselves,
As protection against the fierce force of the winds
And the harshness of the coldness to come...

Man retreats to the warmth of his homefire
And makes himself as cosy as he can, still in prayer,
Facing the future in the bosom of his family...
October fades and November is born, only to pass us by,
And Christmas begins to nestle its way into our hearts.
To those that believe, this is the time of good cheer,
Giving and seeing a child's eyes sparkle with joy...
Therefore thanksgiving is in the air
And the Lord is on our minds and in our hearts
Bestowing upon us the memories of the year...

Family

there is nothing as great as can be
than to spend time with family
the love of family makes life worthwhile
they're always there with a good word and smile.

this special bond of family brings us closer to god you see
it makes us thankful for all we have
and all that we can give
to help others so that they can live.

so during the times of celebration and we
make plans of things to do.
let us not forget the one who has given us this day
no one can take that away.

and at this time of year with thanksgiving
and christmas cheer
i thank the lord up above
for my family and their love.

there are so many boys and girls who
have grown up in abusive ties.
that they choose to live a lie.
and tell others that everything was ok
and that with them they would stay.
they have no where that they could go
to escape the aches and pains
and to them life remains the same.

so let us open our hearts and see what we can do
to get them out of their solitude.
let them see what family life should be
without all that misery
give all that you could possibly give
so that these children could live.

Holidays Approach

When Christmas comes,
It is the time I most like.
Holidays approach,
And I'm excited.

The Summer reminds one of Fall.
And Labor Day begins the best,
Season of all.

But it's the Christmas with its Winter cheer,
After the Halloween masks and Thanksgiving..
That brings us all closer and near.
And whatever troubles us seem to disappear.

When Christmas comes,
It is the time I most like.
Holidays approach,
And I'm excited.

And when the new year arrives...
We make those promises we try,
To live by!

Rhythms Of Life

Everything has a rhythm
that puts music in the air.
The morning with its bird calls
awakening everywhere.
The yawns of the waking
as they greet a new day.
The afternoon rhythm
is smiling faces to be seen,
especially while the sun
is high up in the sky
mingled with laughter
from children as they play.
The evening rhythm
is of the close of day
as the voices of the night
begin to appear.
A gentle breeze cools the air
to end another day of rhythms
before they all begin again.
The seasons have their rhythms too;
the spring with its new life
from the earth begins to grow.
The summer with its warmth
and bright colours, begin to show.
The autumn as the year
begins to die away.
The falling of the leaves nurture the soil.
Then the winter’s rhythm comes in play
with the cold winds that blow
and the bringing of the snow.
It is the rhythm of the closing of the year
and so the rhythms of life
go on everyday.

Loves In Our Hearts On Christmas Day

I know great distance still remains..
Between us
But theres good reason to hold on
Its the happiest time of the year
Filled with laughter and good cheer
As you watch the snow
Sweet love youll hear me say
Youve got my heart on christmas
Inside my soul your love remains
Loves in our hearts
On christmas day
The days and weeks and months go by
So slowly
We are both wishing them to fly (*wishing in the fly*)
As the night begins to fall
Twilight crowns the bedroom cheer (*drowns in mellow cheer*)
Such a rush of joy
Your love, it comforts me
And I do believe
Loves in our hearts on christmas
Though far apart
As one we pray
Loves in our hearts
On christmas day
Snowflake melts in your eye and turns to tear
But you cheek it stays dry
With your warm smile so near
I have no fear
Were gonna make it
Loves in our hearts on christmas
Though far apart
As one we pray
Loves in our hearts (love is in our hearts)
On christmas day...

Seasonal Greetings

March, April and May,
hail a brand new day,
for the three months of spring,
mark a brand new beginning,
as buds and bulbs start to bloom,
giving the garden a delightful boon.
The birds start their singing,
the bees start their honey making,
so for those who are down in heart,
remember this is a time for fresh starts,
so go out and find something new,
for your dreams could come true.

June, July and August,
A time when we all must,
remember our love for him or her,
to feel the real warmth of the summer,
embrace the hot sunshine,
during this summertime,
we can gather a collection,
of love and affection,
creating a happy heated haze,
to match those summer days,
a wishful romantic bliss,
combined with the mid-summer solstice.

September, October and November,
A time when orchards remember,
their nurtured fruit, such as a pear or plum,
sweetening the three months of autumn,
while farmers gather barley, corn and wheat,
confectioners create comfits to eat.
Fruiters and orchardists do toil,
planting more seed in the soil,
so that next year’s harvest,
can put our taste-buds to the test,
proving autumn is the season,
to see us through winter’s cold reason.

In December, January and February,
wrapping up in scarves is usually necessary,
for the harsh months of winter,
can pierce us like a splinter,
making our breath come out in misty puffs,
forcing us to wear silly hats and ear-muffs.
Winter greets us with crisp white frost,
giving the green grass an icy gloss,
causing the papergirl to give her round a skip,
and makes the postman skid, slide and slip,
but laughing at them warms me and you,
even though we’re cold and blue.

Christmas Past

That very special time of the year was the Christmas Season of my yesteryears or when I was a child, and I think of those wonderful very loving season, each Christmas with a smile. There was the joy and the warmth of my family , and friends. And there was always a special love shown me, I tearfully recall, and at this time we'd all say "Merry Christmas," or when I was very small. There were always the little "Snowbirds", and they sang as they sat in the holly and in the spruce, and they came during Christmas Season, even when no snow fell to this ground. I remember feeding them little crumbs of bread, and I wondered where they came from, and when they'd last been fed. They were a cheerful part of Christmas too, and they were seemingly all around. These little "Snowbirds" of my childhood Christmas, filled the season, and those carefree days with such beautiful sights, and sounds. Even though they were such a small part of it all, they'll remain so dear to my heart. Those days the spirit of Christmas seemed to fill the hearts of the young, and the old, and Santa had his magical part, in all the stories I was told. He came from such a magical place, and the spirit of giving kept the smile upon his face. I felt sorry for him, it seems though, because of those very long trips, and I thought about him not having his Christmas at home, and about the elves, and Mrs. Clause being left every Christmas, and about them being alone. I thought about the reindeer, about leaving Santa cookies, and milk, but I thought of how hungry the deer must get too, so I once tried to buy a bale of hay, but I couldn't find a farmer in town anywhere, so I thought they must be placing some out, and everyone has a part to play. There were family members then who are now in Heaven, and they may be gone from my sight, but those past Christmas memories of them are alive, and well in my heart, and for them I will do what is right. Thank you Lord for letting me live, and think as a child in my past, and for this day with your beautiful name ... Thank you for giving us such a day, and you can feel love most everywhere, and this love was so special when I was a child, in such a mystical , magical way ... Thank you too, for the past Christmas' I've experienced as a child, and thank you for those I have loved, and those I haven't seen for a while, and thank you for the Angels, who were there to guard you on the day that you were born, and I'd like to believe they named Christmas to wish you a "Happy Birthday"...

Christmas Is Coming

Christmas is coming
Yes, it's that time of year
When Jesus was born
May we all standup and cheer

Christmas is coming
To every house and every town
So bring on the smiles
And wipe away those frowns

Christmas is coming
And presents will be all around
Santa will fill childrens dreams
Without ever making a sound

Christmas is coming
May the snow bring you delight
But watch out for those reindeer
If you're out christmas night

Christmas is coming
May your hearts fill with cheer
As you sit back and think
All you've accomplished this past year

Christmas is coming
May that spirit of love never end
As you spend your time
Among your family and friends

Christmas is coming
May all your dreams come true
And now if I might say
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL OF YOU

Winter Thoughts

As Autumn leaves and Winter begins,
So does the color of autumn to chilled winter,
For the golden browns and amber in shades,
Turn to grey clouds and ice chills,
Of snowy hills where blankets of snow begins and show,

With the season greetings and family celebrations,
Tis no place for the lonely or the homeless persons,
Winter and its isolation,
Is not kind to the exposure of the unsheltered,
For with the weather also comes the sheltering,
For peoples gather indoors and outdoors is its outcasts,

Winter brings good cheer and tidings,
It also brings out the cold and reality,
For in summer and Autumn,
Where nature trails and outdoor meets,
The winter shows who has what and who has not,
By seeing the isolated alone and the outcasts left out in the cold,

It shows the warmth of open fires and seasonal greetings,
Of lavish homes and homely places,
All in good cheer and spirits in celebration,
Yet, winter will show,
The lost and the outcast,
Of no fixed abode or family to gather with,
Looking on yet,
Not apart of or with any to gather with,

Its winter when we reflex and ponder,
Of the year near ending and what we have acheived,
Or, what we have neglected or put off again,
Or what we have losted or had to indure,
Winter reflections can bring sorrow and pain,
Or laughter with good gains,

With the gains means we all party and laugh,
While the sorrow and pain,
Is in quiet and shadowed,
Like the lost and forgotten of yesterday,
Gone like the leaves of Autumn,
Decayed and blown away,
In the chill winds of the winter,
Covered by a blanket,
Of white,
That covers it all.

When New Year Comes

When New Year Comes
Everybody Shivers
In the month of January
Which is cold and Airy
In February winter get’s Weary
Prepares for Leaving
Paving way for spring to come
In the month of March
Flowers loom Large
April comes
Summer knocks on the Door
When May comes,
Sun Brightens
Mangoes ripe and Juicy
Long hot days
Make June very tiring
Holidays for Children
All wait for Rain
Monsoon at its Peak
When July arrives
Rain brings Smile
August is the month of Freedom
Sometimes sticky sometimes Hot
In September one feels
Better then August
We call it Autumn
One see’s Flowers
Which are colourful and Rosy
October is the festival Month
Weather is good
Winter getting Ready
November makes everybody Happy
Everybody enjoys
Lights of Deepawali(Festival of Light)
In the Cold month of December
Christmas celebrated
Throughout the the World
Everybody says goodbye to the year
Welcomes New Year
On the night of 31’st December

My Dog Named Cat

Spring of life, so much like the flowers in the garden, or the leaves on The mighty oak tres, all blooming, all turning green, as days go by,
My dog and I, we used to run free together, through the fields of corn, Down the country lanes, so happy we were, me and my dog named Cat;
When rabbits crossed our path, we chased them until our lungs were about to Burst, then we'd lie there upon the ground breathing in the fresh country Air, and nowhere on earth, was there a happier place;
Summer, the body of life, when all is happening so fast it makes your head Spin, hot days, warm nights, when the sun and stars seem so very close, When maturity sets in on a child's dream on a puppy's playful days;
With work to be done now, we're still together, me and my dog Cat, side by Side we walk through the fields, our eyes still glance for a trace of that Same rabbit;
When day is done, even though we're tired, we hurry back to take up the Chase, and maybe someday soon, we'll catch old rabbit, but I know, in both Of our hearts we hope we never will;
Fall, the Autumn of life, when things slow down, when hair turns gray, and Eye sight fades, when the memories are thought of, more often;
Me and my dog Cat, still walk the fields together, our old friend the Rabbit, is still with us, Cat's bark is growing weaker, and his legs just Aren't the same;
I limp along with them, and seem to keep up somehow, but I'm sure old Cat Sometimes slows down, just for me to catch up, we watch more sunsets now From the porch, than we ever did before;
Winter, the cold and lonely time of life, when sometimes things end, oh, The snow is beautiful to see, as it falls to earth, but the old days are Gone now, gone;
Old Cat doesn't walk with me anymore, when he died my tears fell on his Grave, even old rabbit was there to say goodbye;
I'm sure old rabbit won't be with me in Spring, I suppose I'll sit by the Fire and dream of those good times, memories of me, and my dog named Cat.

New Year 2008

As the old year fades
And the New Year comes,
Most hearts and minds
Emotional become.

But thank we must
The Almighty,
For all the good things
That had happened.

Let’s efface the thoughts
Of woes, grief and strife;
Let’s hope the New Year
Will fill in those gaps
With joys and ecstasies.

Let’s all resolve
To lead better lives
As the New Year arrives,
And thank the Lord.

Let’s be soul-wise;
Let’s give up vice;
Let’s heed advice
From people nice.

As New Year unfolds,
Let’s pray to God
To bestow cheer,
All through the New Year.

The Fallen Leaves

I.

WE stand among the fallen leaves,
Young children at our play,
And laugh to see the yellow things
Go rustling on their way:
Right merrily we hunt them down,
The autumn winds and we,
Nor pause to gaze where snow-drifts lie,
Or sunbeams gild the tree:
With dancing feet we leap along
Where wither'd boughs are strown;
Nor past nor future checks our song--
The present is our own.
II.

We stand among the fallen leaves
In youth's enchanted spring--
When Hope (who wearies at the last)
First spreads her eagle wing.
We tread with steps of conscious strength
Beneath the leafless trees,
And the colour kindles on our cheek
As blows the winter breeze;
While, gazing towards the cold grey sky,
Clouded with snow and rain,
We wish the old year all past by,
And the young spring come again.
III.

We stand among the fallen leaves
In manhood's haughty prime--
When first our pausing hearts begin
To love 'the olden time;'
And, as we gaze, we sigh to think
How many a year hath pass'd
Since 'neath those cold and faded trees
Our footsteps wander'd last;
And old companions--now perchance
Estranged, forgot, or dead--
Come round us, as those autumn leaves
Are crush'd beneath our tread.
IV.

We stand among the fallen leaves
In our own autumn day--
And, tott'ring on with feeble steps,
Pursue our cheerless way.
We look not back--too long ago
Hath all we loved been lost;
Nor forward--for we may not live
To see our new hope cross'd:
But on we go--the sun's faint beam
A feeble warmth imparts--
Childhood without its joy returns--
The present fills our hearts!

Autumn’s Glow

There is something about autumn
That brings out such earthiness
Gold leaves adorn bushes and trees
Like an artist with a brilliant brush

Once the leaves dry on the trees
Then the wind begins to blow
It’s a special time of year for me
Because I love autumn so

The cold dry air it seems
Prepare the leaves to fall
Mother Nature’s special time
Yes, it’s the best of all

What a dazzling way to end
The year as winter nears
The way leaves let loose
And dropp like nature’s tears

Oh yes, I love those golden days
Dreamy with autumn’s glow
It makes me smile because I do
Love the season of autumn so!

What Was Christmas For?

What was Christmas truly for, as on the Season we close that door?
As a New Year for all starts, and the Christmas Season now departs.
Does the Christmas spirit depart, from each and every human heart?
As Christmas trim is tucked away, will the spirit in some hearts stay?

Was Christmas truly meant for this, for once a year to change gifts?
Especially within the hearts of us, who in The Savior place our trust?
Shouldn’t Christmas that we know, be His Light in us for all to show,
The Truth and life we have in Him, who came to dwell forever within?

Should not Christmas be a song, we sing in our hearts all year long?
As in our hearts we joyfully sing, to Jesus Christ, our Lord and King.
A song which should never leave, the heart of those who do believe,
Saved by Grace from this world, with that Christmas Song to herald.

A song we sing all year through, as The Spirit moves in me and you,
To be a light men need each day, not just thought of Christmas day,
Song and light, throughout the year, which every man needs to hear,
This, so men may see their need, that God’s message they will heed.

Some men desire Christmas in July, but, did you ever question why?
A time when gifts aren’t bought at all; could it be music to their soul?
Maybe the songs that they heard, moved their hearts to God’s Word,
With a message, when not ignored, could draw any soul to The Lord.

Keep Christmas in Your Heart

Christmas is the time of year for kindness, forgiveness and love.
A time to kneel down, give thanks to Jesus above.
A time to be charitable, happy and open our closed up hearts;
A time to reflect on others make a brand new start.
Christmas is a time to look inside yourself and find out who you are,
And open up your heart and send love to family afar.
IF Christmas is not in your heart you’ll never find it under a tree.
The best present is the presence of Family and friends,
Which include you and me.
So if hearts are touched just once a year, it’s still not too late ~~
Maybe on some magical Christmas morning,
The touch will finally take.

Christmas Is Here

Christmas is here
Snowflakes filling the air
People rushing past every display
No time for napping
Theres buying and then wrapping
The gifts to be given away
Sparkling lights
All the dazzling sights
Christmas trees loaded with joy
Hearts full of giving
Children are living
For what could be their favorite toy
Christmas is here
Christmas is here
Its a wonderful time of the year
Christmas is here
Christmas is here
Its a wonderful, wonderful, wonderful time of the year
Families together
No matter the weather
Feasting and fun is the goal
Grandma is making
Sugar cookies are baking
To warm up the body and soul
Full decoration
In anticipation of times
Marked with laughter and cheer
And day long awaited
And much celebrated
Christmas is finally here
Christmas is here
Its a wonderful time of the year
Christmas is here
Christmas is here
Its a wonderful, wonderful, wonderful time of the year
A festive occasion
A welcome invasion
Of carolers filling the air
Song of rejoicing
And everyone voicing
A story of hope we all share
Christmas is here
Christmas is here
Its wonderful time of the year
Christmas is here
Christmas is here
Its a wonderful, wonderful, wonderful time of the year

New Year! New You!

And so it's here, another year,
Brand new from start to end,
Towards the future now to steer...
New Year! New You! Dear friend.

Another season, stay at home,
Keep Winter warmers on,
Until it's time you're free to roam,
When freezing months have gone...

When Springtime comes, you'll sense it's warm,
The clocks advance an hour,
So that your mood will then transform,
As if renewed with power...

The daffodils will blossom soon,
Like beacons far and wide,
Then Summer's heat could make you swoon,
Yet take it in your stride...

When chestnuts ripen on the trees
And fields with crops grow tall,
You'll see God's wonders never cease,
When Autumn comes to call...

Another school year starts, of course,
New uniforms for some,
New regulations to enforce,
As if new rules of thumb...

Consider how the months fly by,
Some hectic, some serene,
Then spare a penny for the guy
Soon after Halloween...

Then poppies bought November time,
Remembrance honoured still,
Recalling some war poet's rhyme,
Just like we always will...

And finally, the Christmas cheer,
God's season when you give,
So take your time, this brand new year...
Take time to love and live...

Season of Mists

I thank you for your view of a view of autumn, Keats
who never saw your own autumn with its actual pitfalls.
Yours was the autumn of childhood, of hope, or romance, of belief,
my mother's autumn though not that of her hardworking family,
yours was never my father's autumn, season of mists,
and yours is not mine. My autumn
for all I would like to subscribe to your lavish play,
is like yours only in single ways each year,
perhaps there are swallows making a din,
or plums and apples falling wasp-eaten, unharvestable.
There is no sickle in my vocabulary or shed,
my autumn is based more on dread of the winter
and having had so little time each summer
to tidy or attend to the garden. Last year
early snow fell on flower baskets ditched from the street
and remained both snow and baskets until the spring
leaving me two seasons behind, without strategy
for a fast approaching repeat autumn, little wonder
and no chance to make anything faintly rhyme,
such is our modern poetry and life

Mister Snowman

From dreary skies I make my descent,
Heaven above from which I am sent

Through the atmosphere I fall as rain,
Scorned by winter's solemn pain

It is there I begin my transformation,
I can hardly bear the anticipation

Upon the fields I arrive as snow,
Awaiting the children with hearts aglow

With tiny hands I'm sculpted and formed,
Upon that morning, a new life is born

From the crudity of objects, I'm boldly adorned,
I welcome the celebration upon that early morn

Soon the winter retreats, from its bitter cold wrath,
I'm nothing more to treasure than a watery path

Fret not, my saddened little friends,
Snow is only temporary, winter never ends...

Our Marriage Is Our Garden

Our marriage is our garden.
I want our garden to be beautiful.
With lush green grass,
With fragrant and colourful flowers.
A place of solace.
A place of peace.
A place of love.
Our garden must be watered.
Not watered too much.
As that would saturate the ground.
Not watered too little.
As that would leave the plants wilted.
And our grass barren.
But regularly.
So the flowers can stand tall
It must be weeded.
It must be maintained.
It must be loved.
We will plant seeds in our garden.
For new life makes any garden more beautiful and diverse.
We can harvest the fruit trees, but our harvest is limited
If we eat all the fruit too quick,
Then we must wait until the next harvest to eat again.
If we don't pick the fruit when it is right, it will spoil.
Our harvest is for our family.
If I eat all the fruit myself, then they will starve.
If we eat too much we will get sick.
If we eat what we are supposed to, then we will be healthy.
If we do not monitor the fruit,
Then someone might eat more than their share.
If we do not stand guard in our garden,
A thief might come into the garden to steal our fruit.
The fruit for our family.
For their garden must be barren and their crops have spoiled.
Our garden will stand the test of all seasons.
As all gardens do.
Another garden will also experience the same seasons.
Just at different times.
All gardens face rain.
All gardens get sun.
It is the rain that nourishes the garden and helps it's life to grow.
But our garden must be maintained regularly.
Only artificial things require no maintenance.
The artificial has no life.
It is fake, it is plastic.
Our garden needs to be real.
So life may grow and continue to grow.
So one day our children can enjoy a garden of their own.
For them and their children.
May their garden be overflowing with life and love.
And be the most beautiful garden in the world.
