We're Predators and Prey

Are we truly so distant from our primitive past
Are we no longer the hunter or considered fair prey
Were the truth put before you, you’d be most aghast
There are predators among us and they hunt us each day

We’re not truly different from the ones at herds rear
Which the predator watches with hard hungry eye
The prey starts and senses, that death is quite near
On the lonely herds edges, the weak always die

Our modern world is a jungle, and human beasts are a fact
Camouflaged with normalcy, clothed in disarming disguise
Preying on the young and the weakest with terrifying tact
Before melting in to community, they disappear to our eyes

The gazelle in the herd is as the child on the walk
Safety in numbers causes inborn defenses to relax
A lion creeping closer is as a van stopping to stalk
And they’ll both culminate in deadly attacks

No.. we’re not so far distant from our primitive past
Yes.. we’re the hunter and also too, are considered fair prey
don’t allow yourself or your children to lag or be last
Yes… there are predators among us and they hunt us each day

Death Of A Youth

How old is to old?
How young is to young?
For Death knowns no number
Death knows no age.

I have the same dreams as you.
I have the same hopes and fears as you do.
Then why do I not have the same rights as you do?
Why do you hunt me like a animal in the concrete jungle of life.
Why did you track me down the side walk river.
Then gun me down.

What Devine power made you the hunter and me the prey.
Is it because my eyes are not blue like yours.
Could it be because my skin is dark like the dirty it was created from.

Why do you hunt me.
Don't you know I am not a animal.
I am a man just like you

It Is Survival Of The Fittest

On the flesh of smaller forms of wildlife the eagle she does fill her craw
A predator of Nature's wild kingdom and Nature lives by her own law
And the predators of Nature's wild kingdom they have to kill to stay alive
It is called the survival of the fittest where only the fittest survive.

The fear of creatures of the jungle when they listen to the big cats roar
But in Nature big cats are not seen as killers they hunt for survival nothing more
They have to hunt when they are hungry of meat they need their daily fill
It is one of the Laws of Nature that the predator to eat must kill.

Nature never grieves for her dead creatures to grieve it is not Nature's way
She is above sorrow and pity when on her bosom her dead creatures lay
Us humans too are part of Nature we live for awhile and we die
The creatures of Nature's wild kingdom they are not less mortal than I.

It is called survival of the fittest it happens in Nature night and day
Those that are born to be meat eaters on other creatures have to prey
And birth and death to Mother Nature are part of life and of the same
And for the deaths of her wildborn her predators she never blame.

Survival Of The Fittest

When the lion roars and makes himself heard
all in the jungle shall listen
As he stalks his prey from hunger he feels
on his face his eyes do glisten.

And as he's heard all beasts do scatter
in fear, lest they be prey.
Wildebeasts, gnus and even gazelles
try to get away.

For to end up in the bowels means death
and survival comes to an end.
And the anxious ones who make their escape
nervously make their wend.

Luck was with them on this day
and so they graze and feed,
unaware of when the lion will roar.
They're intent on only their need.

Survival of the fittest in every jungle
reminds me of how we act.
For the world at large is just the same
as we are attacked

by the strong and mighty who feast upon
the weakest of all men.
And so the world we are living in
is just like the lion's den.

Mother Nature Knows

The sedge along the riverside.
Provides a perfect place to hide
For creatures which we rarely see.
Small animals which need to be.
Hid from the eyes of predators.
Who hunt along the water course.

Feathered hunters high in the sky
follow the river as they fly
In their eternal hunt for prey.
Ready to stoop without delay.
Given the opportunity
On some potential meal they see..

Small creatures seeking sustenance.
Who are prepared to take a chance.
To forage for the food they need
Far from the safety of the weeds
where they are hidden from the view.
Of predators who must feed too.

Though most will die some will survive.
Enough to keep the breed alive.
Ma Nature plans well in advance
for each and every circumstance.
She will maintain the status quo.
Which was established long ago.

How Are The Weak Free?

They will hunt again.
With years to plan.
And sharpen their teeth.
But no one knows, no one knows.
Free the wolf from his cage.
Watch him hunt, stalk his prey.
We let them go.
They will hunt again.
Prey on the simple.
Feast in the temple.
Free the wolf?
We must put him down.
We'll put him down again.
Our protectors hide and grin.

Tis A Fact Of Nature

'Tis a fact of Nature and facts never lie
That for one to live another has to die
The predator cannot survive without meat
It's natural instincts to hunt and kill to eat
The kestrel chase a flock of starlings in the sky
But they are too quick and it they do outfly
It must scan around in search of easier to catch prey
Or else for it 'tis going to be a hungry day
One has to die for another to live that is Nature's way
And in Nature all creatures have some role to play
It's Nature's way that the raptor is born with talons and a hooked beak
And for to keep the herds healthy the wolves kill the sick and the weak
In Nature there's so much to learn of and see
And her ways do remain as a mystery to me.

Terror In The Land

Alas! there is terror in the land.
There is hurlyburly in the jungle.
Herds scampered for safety.
The elephants cocooned behind trees;
Lions buried their claws underground;
The tigers wrapped their canines with leaves;
In awe of ferocius alliance of foxes and hyena.

The roaring of the new predators
Shakes the wilderness
Making iroko tree to shed leaves spasmodically.
Date palm delivered prematurely in the savannah.
The bamboo refused to sprout.
The whole land convulsed;
Ushering thick darkness

Alas! the shepherd hues
Seeking for foreign alliance
To tame the marauding scavengers.
The vigilantes are asleep
Leaving the land defenceless
Giving rooms for the allied predators
To match their jackboots on the land.

Tears and sorrows flow in the land.
Lives are caught down at plumes.
Sighs and hopelessness inhabit homes.
The shepherd could not tame the predators.
The jet-lagged guards are fainting
And could no longer fight the predators

Haba! who shall be the next prey?
Where will the predators strike again?
Who is the true owner of the land?
Is it the shepherd or the predators?
Will there be an end to the hurlyburly?
When shall peace reign in the land again?
When shall this carnage cease?
Oh! there seems to be no end at sight
The land is afraid of itself
There is terror in the land
Someone help our motherland.

Indelible Guilt.

Indelible Guilt.

More scenes of devastation.
The tides of war have left behind.
A naked child wanders alone.
She does not know the ground is mined.

She cries for aid but there is none
There is nobody left to care.
The tides of war have come and gone.
Death and destruction everywhere.

The lucky ones are those who died.
Though she survived: What chance has she
A helpless infant cast aside.
To starve to death most probably.

She may be killed by predators.
Who see her as their lawful prey.
Obeying Mother Nature’s law
Because they know no other way.

Kill or be killed the age old law
Instinctively they all obey
Each and every predator
The hunter can become the prey.

But Man the greatest predator
Brushes Natures rules aside
His greatest skill is making war
His blood lust never satisfied.

What of the child? No one can say
It must remain a mystery
The memory haunts me still today
When I look back regretfully.

The guilt I feel is permanent
Does not abate with passing years.
Still flashbacks to that incident.
Reduce me to impotent tears.

That is the price that soldiers pay.
For answering their countries call.
A guilt that will not fade away
and makes no difference at all.

Though we recall the heroes fall.
No one records the innocent
The weakest ones go the wall
By long established precedent.

It seems that we will never learn
The lessons taught by history
Each generation in its turn.
Must learn experientially.

There are no winners in a war.
The strong survive the weak must die.
Mother Natures age old law
When demand exceeds supply.

A Hunter

in the forest of life
a hunter kept searching
for a prey to stalk
and salt for a meal or two.
stealthily he moved
afraid of dry leaves underfoot
eyes fixed on a prey.
lo! without warning
the prey's image got blurred.
disappointed he trudged
only to meet a similar fate
home bound he trekked
a man bitter at fate
yet no one promised anything.

Take Me Home

just like a sinner far from zion
i'm far away from where i can rest
i care how i can fight this lion
with spear of wood not even iron
a friend is lynched and a lover is gone
jungle is hard even after all i've done
my heart please take me home
every predator here has a rival
every prey has a thousand predators
with the tigers how do the dear get survival
after the fire how do the grass make revival
to live with vitality so lush and green
it's not a life none that i've ever seen
my heart please take me home

Sundown at sylvan

Almost dimmed his big pride
And the Prima donna comes out punctually like a primrose.
Lions yawn and tigers rest; no hunt
It seems to be a hunger strike.
How quiet the jungle when Sun hides
And no Hurly-burly, only the Owl
Bird of prey sings its primitive song while at flying,
'If the night remains forever? '

The Mind Inside My Hero

Unique friend imposible to find,
caring and loving for the ones who are,
The protector of broken hearts,
A true hero in my world.

Seems to be perfect for us,
but that's only what the eyes can see,
'cause my heart can see something else,
A vulnerable soul under it's shield.

My perfect hero has his sectrets,
Unknown for the ones who see with the eyes,
my hero is becoming weak with the time,
but he can't realize....

The mind inside my hero,
Keeps feelings hidden,
for the ones he must protect,
to trust, and not be afraid.

A red rose in between many white,
similar to the others, but never the same,
feeling lonely on the inside,
wanting to hide and not to face the truth.

An exquisite prey in the jungle,
afraid of the hungry predators,
keep trying not to make any noise,
just avoiding to be haunted.

I can see him with my heart,
and I see his fears and his pain,
I understand he is only being human,
I still love him the same,
and still he is my hero....

Black Beauty

Behold the black panther's beauty!
That striking set of eyes!
Yet survival sets its duty -
To hunt until he dies...
So each night, he's slowly bidden
To stalk his prey once more...
Within that darkness he's hidden,
In silence, to be sure...
He treads the ground with gentle paws,
He sniffs the breeze for clues,
He hides his teeth, he hides his claws,
This untamed wild recluse...
The night is young, his turn will come...
His blood runs cold each time...
His heart is beating like a drum...
Yet onward he must climb.
The hours pass, yet he must wait...
The vigil must be kept.
No rest, he mustn't hesitate...
He mustn't be inept!
Was that a rustling dead ahead?
Was that his answered prayer?
Was that a creature that just fled?
All he could do was stare!
Here was the beauty and the beast...
The devil in disguise...
With hunger raging, unappeased...
Till something near him dies...
I pity him, his victims, too...
Is there no other way?
Each night they do what they must do,
The hunter and the prey...

Let Us Prey

Im the reason women bleed
Its been called
The curse of eve
Ancient times to modern lies
You know my name
Turned your pleasures into pain
You made love I give you aids
My pollution gives you cancer
Of the brain
Yet to me you sell your soul
Fame and glory plated gold
Youre such an easy
Prey for me
Please let us prey
Please let us hunt
7 million bodies lying dead
Beneath my hands
War was such a simple
Game to play
Preachers do my bidding yet
Blame me for their sins
Altar boys are taken in dismay
Kill and eat your neighbors
Gas a subway in japan
I got more apocalyptic plans
Please let us prey
Please let us hunt
Suicide...genocide

The Tiger- past predator: present prey!

Tiger, Tiger, poached for hide!

By Man’s bullets many died;

Bones and claws of thine are dried;

Poachers have thee crucified.

Past predator, now a prey!

Recklessly killed every day;

Thy extinction is so nigh;

Mortality of thine’s high.

Lord of Jungle, O Tiger!

Hast thou become much tamer?

Thy reserves have dwindled fast;

Wilt thou soon be thing of past?

Oh, what sinews, what muscles!

Victor of fiercest tussles;

Thou with agility stalk;

Despite weight, thou canst cat-walk!

No beast dare challenge thy might;

Thine eyes glimmer green at night;

Thou live in forests so dense;

Mighty beast- ’tis no pretence.

Frightens thy roar every beast;

Stalk thou grassland’s beasts for feast;

What strength fills thy graceful frame!

Jungle Lord, wherefrom thou came?

Miss Praying Mantis

Miss Mantis! camouflaged stand still as you pray.
But many understand you are waiting for prey
Some other can't know so come closer to you
You promptly speed up on your mission to pursue.

To eat the prey alive, is your first choice and lust
if prey would resist, you will eat its head first,
Exclusive predator dependent on meat of prey
chew like chocolate moving the jaws sideway.

Your wisdom never ends here, you fly in nights.
To seem larger and threatening, fan wings wide.
Detect the sounds produced by approaching bats
your camouflage and colour help you to protect.

Miss Praying Mantis! too have exceptional beauty
With remarkable pose, style; totally slick and sexy,
Matching colour make up and your camouflage
Makes you no way less than a Hollywood actress.

The Spider

Spider, Spider, weaving web-
Fine and silky, that can’t ebb;
What immortal Hand did give,
Engineering feet to live!

Swift legs moving on fine threads:
Insect prey finally dreads;
What finesse involves your act,
Smothering preys with great tact!

Gossamer-mesh baiting prey:
Caught in surprising, a way;
Wound by silken threads, so fast,
Die insects spun, quite aghast!

Thready sensors, zig-zag laid,
Helping hunter and to aid;
Moving majestically,
Howev’r strong the wind, may be.

What a cute beast? What a frame?
What made Adam give this name?
What gentleness? What great speed?
Catching prey with deadly greed!

Victor always in pinning
Lethally prey by spinning;
What superb brain, God-given,
Watching eyes, agile-driven!

Spider, Spider, weaving web-
Fine and silky, that can’t ebb;
What immortal Hand did give,
Engineering feet to live!

Dealing With Bullies

The lion picks out his gazelle for the kill,
As the herd stands around and watches.
'Well, he picked the weakest one I guess.'
The pack of hyenas pick out the Zebra to dissect,
As the rest of the herd stands around and watches.
'Well, she didn't really fit in to our group.'
The tiger picks out a weak, young water buffalo.
As the rest of he herd of buffalo approach the tiger.
' Well, we've had enough, they attack him.'
With tail in hand, he flees for his life!

The way it has to be

The way it has to be

The world is full of predators,
the strongest prey upon the week
It’s one of nature’s primal laws.

Only the fittest live to breed
and pass strong genes to their offspring.
They must be ruthless to succeed.

Mankind does not obey these rules
and by preserving weaker strains
Appears perhaps to prove that we are fools.

We breed beyond capacity
and damage the environment.
Avoiding the simplicity of laws

which Mother Nature made.
The weak and flawed will not survive
they simply do not make the grade.

Though Mother Nature can enforce
the rules she made. against mans will
Does so as matter of course.

Too many mouths too little food
Many must die to save the few
Maybe it’s time we understood.

Mother nature‘s in control
Because mankind’s not fit to be
She sees the picture as a whole.

Something that mankind cannot do
His stiff necked pride gets in the way.
So Nature does what she needs to.

She culls the herds quite ruthlessly
the weakest still go to the wall.
This is the way it has to be.
