Pere & Fils

When I see reflected
In my son's eyes
My own soul's wit and mocking irony;
When with a secret glance
I recognize
The shared rejoicing
Of two souls that harmonize;
It takes my breath away
To be so understood;
Loving him all the more
For doubling good

Not Understood

Not understood, we move along asunder;
Our paths grow wider as the seasons creep
Along the years; we marvel and we wonder
Why life is life, and then we fall asleep
Not understood.

Not understood, we gather false impressions
And hug them closer as the years go by;
Till virtues often seem to us transgressions;
And thus men rise and fall, and live and die
Not understood.

Not understood! Poor souls with stunted vision
Oft measure giants with their narrow gauge;
The poisoned shafts of falsehood and derision
Are oft impelled 'gainst those who mould the age,
Not understood.

Not understood! The secret springs of action
Which lie beneath the surface and the show,
Are disregarded; with self-satisfaction
We judge our neighbours, and they often go
Not understood.

Not understood! How trifles often change us!
The thoughtless sentence and the fancied slight
Destroy long years of friendship, and estrange us,
And on our souls there falls a freezing blight;
Not understood.

Not understood! How many breasts are aching
For lack of sympathy! Ah! day by day
How many cheerless, lonely hearts are breaking!
How many noble spirits pass away,
Not understood.

O God! that men would see a little clearer,
Or judge less harshly where they cannot see!
O God! that men would draw a little nearer
To one another, -- they'd be nearer Thee,
And understood.

The Fire Below

(bonnie tyler/ paul hopkins/ peter oxendale)
Producer for bonnie: peter oxendale
Recorded in 1988 as a b-side for the single the best. lyrics taken from careful listening.
What I need
Is what you got
And a man like you must surely have a lot
Its what I need
So now you know
It takes a whole lot of loving
To put out the fire below
What you see
Is what you get
And if thats not enough
You know you aint seen nothing yet
So hold on tight
And dont let go
It takes a whole lot of loving
To put out the fire below
The fire below
The fire below
It takes a whole lot of loving
To put out the fire below
The fire below
The fire below
It takes a whole lot of loving
To put out the fire below
When I play
Its not a game
Ive got nothing to lose
But you sure got a lot to gain
Come on, come on, come on
Im ready to go
It takes a whole lot of loving
To put out the fire below
Ooh, the fire below
The fire below
It takes a whole of loving
To put out the fire below
The fire below
The fire below
It takes a whole lot of loving
To put out the fire below, oh yeah, oh yeah
Oh yeah
Now if you take me up
I wont bring you down
Now, you know I aint fooling
And I wont take no messing around
Come on, come on, come on
Im ready to go
It takes a whole lot of loving
To put out the fire below
The fire below
The fire below
It takes a whole lot of loving
To put out the fire below
Come on, come on, come on
You know Im ready to go
It takes a whole lot of loving
To put out the fire below
The fire below
The fire below
It takes a whole lot of loving
To put out the fire below
Come on, come on, come on
Now Im ready to go
It takes a whole lot of loving
To put out the fire below, oh, oh, yeah

Benefit of Their Neglect

Some folks don't recognize a good thing
Even when they have it!
They will take it for granted.
Thinking it came to them easy...
So more has to be out there for the asking!
Until it becomes understood,
Their intentions to turn what is good...
Into something not so tasty!
They become deluded within themselves.
But delusions are what they are!
Based on fantasy.
And some folks have fantasized themselves,
Right out of the mix!
To secure something or someone that belongs...
It has to be appreciated.
It has to become a respected part of one's life!
When that appreciation goes?
So too a peace of mind one thought came,
And would stay at the benefit of their neglect!
Many do no get this!
And that is why 'that' which was theirs isn't there,
To be shared!
It has gone.

Can't Really Get Enough Of Love Babe

once i have it, there is this irony, i give it away,
i wish, i dream, i work to have what i do not have yet
once it is in my hand, there is this irony, i throw it away.

the paradox of feelings, i had this joy, long time ago, and
i let it go, and i wish it comes back to me, like a memory of someone
too far away, i spend life like it is not life at all, i wish death, like death is life,
like it is not like, this is the irony of my life,
hating and loving and hating and loving, until, everything is gone

i have nothing and then i feel so complete.

Accord Aeon Aeonium Velours 1819

Good: our choice, bloom open voice vibrating,
Attraction magnetic peeping
through entries in safe-keeping.
Artful Ariane, anticipating,
blond head, from horn escaping,
from fears and tears joy reaping.

Extension of my dreams, of my thoughts,
inextricably caught
in firebird glance safe, shared, sought.

Good in my heart, zephyr light tinkling
in your smile, echo humming:
both beginning, second coming,
pleasure inking, winking, thinking
of sweetness polyhedral,
words worlds blossoming as one,
bidirectional joy won,
heartfelt kisses' bliss cathedral.

Here your words from wait translating
nothing rough, nor bluff, souls sweeping,
over time and distance leaping
soul for soul's eternal mating.
Of good, time's hues
of life, rhyme's tempo,
of happiness shared halo.

Intuition

My intentions are good, I use my intuition
It takes me for a ride
But I never understood other peoples superstitions
It seemed like suicide
As I play the game of life
I try to make it better each and every day
And when I struggle in the night
The magic of the music seems to light the way
Ah, intuition takes me there
Intuition takes me everywhere
Well my instincts are fine
I had to learn to use them in order to survive
And time after time confirmed an old suspicion
Its good to be alive
And when Im deep down and out and lose communication
With nothing left to say
Its then I realize its only a condition
Of seeing things that way
Ah, intuition takes me there
Intuition takes me anywhere
(takes me anywhere, alright)
Ah, intuition takes me there
Intuition takes me there
Intuition takes me there
Intuition takes me there
Intuition takes me there
Intuition takes me there

Penelope

She slowly braid the burial shroud,
while a hand strokes loving
on the material.

He loves me,
he loves me not,
and her thoughts carry their own rhythm.

I know him well,
I do not
know him anymore,
weaves with time
it’s own woof in her heart.

Still she remains true
and her fidelity stays intact,
although for years
he does not return from the war.

When Odysseus on a day
returns disguised as a beggar
and takes the big bow,
and string it, and shoots accurately
and her eyes still do not recognize him;
only a intimate secret
reveals him to her.

No Doubling Back

it'd be nice to hold your hand
as we shifted through this twisted abandon
i would like to think that you know your way
i realize the ropes of rain
well the cats and dogs they love to play
on the handsome fella with the umbrella
who once saved you your day
and i will ask you to open my door from the side
from the inside after you drive
because i wanna stay awake for a little bit longer
that's why
warm the engine compartment up
while i stand here thinking of
but it's a little too early to bury the worries
still this wish is my command
and i wonder, wonder which one of us
is gonna state the obvious
and i wonder if you already know
that i gotta let you go
i know this ain't the way i planned it
i guess i ain't the great romantic
and i'm not doubling back now
no doubling back
doubling back now
well before i catch you complaining that it hardly rains at all
let me stop to lock the top
for fear of it falling off
my eyes were easily arms are scares of where
the war was waged on
words that we heard as a joke
how did it drown our, love
oh love
when it rains it's sure to pour
but when i look in your eyes
i feel i won't see surprise
that i'm not doubling back
i wonder, wonder which one of us
is gonna state the obvious
i wonder if you already know
that i gotta let you go
i know this ain't the way i planned it
i guess i ain't the great romantic
and i'm not doubling back now
no doubling back now (x5)
doubling back now
no turning around now
no going back now

Elizabeth Barrett Browning

A Woman's Shortcomings

She has laughed as softly as if she sighed,
She has counted six, and over,
Of a purse well filled, and a heart well tried -
Oh, each a worthy lover!
They "give her time"; for her soul must slip
Where the world has set the grooving;
She will lie to none with her fair red lip:
But love seeks truer loving.

She trembles her fan in a sweetness dumb,
As her thoughts were beyond recalling;
With a glance for one, and a glance for some,
From her eyelids rising and falling;
Speaks common words with a blushful air,
Hears bold words, unreproving;
But her silence says - what she never will swear -
And love seeks better loving.

Go, lady! lean to the night-guitar,
And drop a smile to the bringer;
Then smile as sweetly, when he is far,
At the voice of an in-door singer.
Bask tenderly beneath tender eyes;
Glance lightly, on their removing;
And join new vows to old perjuries -
But dare not call it loving!

Unless you can think, when the song is done,
No other is soft in the rhythm;
Unless you can feel, when left by One,
That all men else go with him;
Unless you can know, when unpraised by his breath,
That your beauty itself wants proving;
Unless you can swear "For life, for death!" -
Oh, fear to call it loving!

Unless you can muse in a crowd all day
On the absent face that fixed you;
Unless you can love, as the angels may,
With the breadth of heaven betwixt you;
Unless you can dream that his faith is fast,
Through behoving and unbehoving;
Unless you can die when the dream is past -
Oh, never call it loving!

Degrees Of Love

When your eyes opened to mine eyes,
Without desire, without surprise,
I knew your soul awoke to see
All, dreams foretold, but could not be,
Yet loving me, not loving me.

When your eyes drooped before mine eyes,
As though some secret made them wise,
Some wisdom veiled them secretly,
I knew your heart began to be
In love with love, in love with me.

When your eyes tawned against mine eyes,
With beaten hunger, and with cries,
In bitter pride's humility,
Love, wholly mine, had come to be.
Hatred of love for loving me.

In tones
Not in tune!

A Missing Chapter

Your Deceiving eyes led me wrong
and now I am, were I should not belong
our eyes are passages to our souls they say
every once a while we let ourselves stray

Loving you is fire; appealing to my eyes
and healing to my desires.
It brings pleasure to my heart but to my fingers pain
and to my memory it is smoke, ashes and stains.

Loving you is magic; which slowly disappears.
It is bewilderness in beauty and sweetness in my tears.
It brings pleasure to my heart, which I haven’t felt in years.
but the unresolved equations, remain as souvenirs

loving you is rain; bringing cure to my thirst.
But to my strong structure, it brings shivers and a curse.
Loving is you like flying over the sky's highest cloud,
as peaceful as it seems its dangerous empty and load.

Loving you is a picture I hung now onto my wall
it tells my favorite story which by detail I recall.
Loving you is a secret I tightly withhold.
And in spite of my resistance it still longs to be told.

Transformation Of Soul An Inner Artistry

having a hard time 'loving oneself'
is a good start to soul's journey
individuals who face difficulty
who have a hard time 'loving oneself'

already face challenges of Christ
find historic teachings of Buddha
too challenging time sows changes
this is not a task worried worked at

let peace of enlightenment enfold souls
souls willing will embrace life lessons
will constantly strive to attain harmony
transformation of soul an inner artistry

Edge Of Heaven

I would lock you up
But I could not bear to hear you
Screaming to be set free
I would chain you up
If Id thought youd swear
The only one that mattered was me, me, me
I would strap you up
But dont worry baby
You know I wouldnt hurt you less you wanted me to
Its too late to stop
Wont the heavens save me?
My daddy said the devil looks a lot like you
You take me to the edge of heaven
Tell me that my souls forgiven
Hide you babys eyes and we can...
You take me to the edge of heaven
One last time might be forever
When the passion dies -
Its just a matter of time before my heart is
Looking for a home
Im like a maniac, at the end of the day
Im like a doggie barking at your door
So come take me back to the place you stay
And maybe we can do it once more
You say Im dangerous
But dont worry baby
I get excited at the things that you do
And theres a place for us in a dirty movie
cos no-one does it better than me and you
You take me to the edge of heaven
Tell me that my souls forgiven
Hide your babys eyes and we can...
You take me to the edge of heaven
One last time might be forever
Please dont tell me lies
Its just a matter of time before my heart is
Looking for a home
I aint got no more worries
Im gonna spend some times with you
Loving you takes such courage
And dont you think that I know it
You take me to the edge of heaven
You tell me that my souls forgiven
Hide your babys eyes and we can...
You take me to the edge of heaven
One last time might be forever
Dont you tell me lies, because believe me baby
One day youll wake up on your own.
I aint got no more worries
I aint got no more time for you
Loving you takes such courage
Everyones got their eyes on you
I aint got no more worries
I aint got no more time for you
Loving you takes such courage
And dont you think that I know it

Stupidity

One day a class mate with her bright eyes
And fairy face said'' I don't like to love lies,
As I believe in value politics.''
I asked'' what is it? ‘' she said'' it is very secret.''
But one thing I can share
As I love to tell the truth
Like a soldier loves his last breath.
I asked ‘'what is it? ''
She gave me in details her last night's bed secret.
I frown at her prolific profanity,
Stupidly shared her stupidity!

Thank you sweety for everything and anything

I’m sorry sweet heart I’m not good enough for such
a wonderful man
and I’m just a girl
and you deserve better

I’m so sorry
that I cant think of anymore to say

and all I can manage to say is
thank you

Words

Yeats so simply stated
' Words alone are certain good. '
And to the great poet
So highly rated
I try to listen, as I should; Yet
Being an untrained novice
Such as me
With verdant hopes of much improvement
- oh that I would -
I beg to slightly differ with W. B.
And offer here my humble opinion
- if I could -
Good certainly is not words alone,
For without humanity
To read and to write
How would they ever become known?
- For without the good of people
Who of these words would care
Ever to be heard, or even shared?
No, the good does not alone from words arise,
Rather from human beings
Whose entire story
Such words do attempt to comprise.......
- Words written in this time
May even the way
To a distant future find,
But not on their own
And never alone.
For it takes people's
- hand's to write
- eye's to read
- heart and soul to understand
The purpose, and the need.
Let it here be shown
Words alone
Are not the only good,
They need human beings
To give goodness and life
To their reason and meaning
For they are merely the vehicle
By which man's true good
Is found and understood.
