The Devil's Loco
I live by an ancient railway track
Near the village of Nether Stonely,
Though the trains were left in the distant past,
And the ribbon of track is lonely,
The rails are rusted, covered in weeds
And lead to an old stone tunnel,
That squads of Victorian engineers
Once sealed to the height of a funnel.
As lads, we'd clamber up to the top
And peer through the gap left up there,
Into the pitch of the blackness, where
You could still get a whiff of sulphur.
We'd shout ‘Hello! ' there, into the dark,
And listen to hear the echo
Bounce off the curve of the soot-black walls
That seemed to be whispering ‘Loco! '
The legend went that a local lad
In '93, in the winter,
Had followed his dog as it chased a hare,
They'd all been seen to go in there,
A tank, a 2.4.2 went in
To the dark of the old stone tunnel,
With sparks and smoke obscuring the view
As sulphur poured from its funnel.
It didn't come out from the other side,
The boy never reappeared,
The company suddenly closed off the line
With that bevy of engineers,
The loco was written right off from the books,
They said it had gone to the knackers,
And secretive meetings were held at the docks
With directors, and all of their backers!
I slipped right over that wall at ten,
But nobody would believe me,
And felt my way through the darkness then
As my eyes, they thought to deceive me,
A loco, cold, and covered in rust
Stood silent there in the tunnel,
And under the front, a skeleton crushed,
As dead as the old train's funnel!
On winter days when a fog or haze
Comes down, I can hear it barking,
A dog in chase of a hare, and then
The sound of a young boy laughing,
And then the rumble and chuff of a train
Drifts faintly over the meadow,
As I cover my ears to muffle the scream
And the sound of the Devil's Loco!

The Loco-motion
Everybodys doin a brand new dance now.
Come on baby, do the loco-motion.
I know youll get to like it if you give it a chance now.
Come on baby, do the loco-motion.
My little baby sister can do it with ease,
Its easier than learnin your abcs.
So, come on, come on, and do the loco-motion with me.
Youve got to swing your hips now,
Oooo ...
Come on,
Oooo ...
Come on.
Jump up,
Oooo ...
Jump up.
Jump back,
Oooo ...
Jump back.
Oh, well, I think youve got the knack.
Oooo ...
Woah ... woah.
Now that you can do it, well, lets make a chain now.
Come on baby, do the loco-motion.
A chuga-chuga motion like a railroad train, now.
Come on baby, do the loco-motion.
Do it nice and easy now, and dont lose control,
A little bit of rhythm and a lot of soul,
So, come on, come on, and do the loco-motion with me.
Woah ... woah.
Move around the floor in a loco-motion.
Come on baby, do the loco-motion.
Do it holdin hands ifn you get the notion.
Come on baby, do the loco-motion.
Theres never been a dance thats so easy to do,
It even makes you happy when youre feelin blue.
So, come on, come on, and do the loco-motion with me.
Come on baby, do the loco-motion.
So, come on, come on, and do the loco-motion with me.
Come on baby, do the loco-motion.
So, come on, come on, and do the loco-motion with me.
Come on baby, do the loco-motion.
Come on baby, do the loco-motion.
Come on baby, do the loco-motion.

Cha Cha Loco
Youve tied the knot
Dont bite the hand or it wont feed
What she aint got
Is sure to make sure you dont need
You cant go back
Youve booked the band
So take your partner by the hand
Baile
Enjoy the food - so many courses
Baile
Enjoy the dance - they dont shoot horses
Baile
Cha cha loco
You like the dress
Its out of mothballs once a year
The good champagne
Tomorrow night its back to beer
But now youre here, youll dance all night
But never get the steps quite right
Baile
Enjoy the food - so many courses
Baile
Enjoy the dance - they dont shoot horses

Cha cha loco
Cha cha cha loco

Loco Mosquito
Pop
My mommy told me
If I were goody
That she would buy me
A rubber dolly
I got some energy to burn
It makes me jumpy and nervous
But Im too damn old to join the military service
Hup two three four
I got to hit my baby on a saturday night
You know the devil made me do it
I know it wasnt right
Like a loco mosquito
round and round and round igo
And when Im hungry
Down I go
Please mr. custer I dont wanna go
And spend my night in a bar with some stupid dodo
Im sick of hanging round with old transvestites
They stare at my rubbers
It makes me uptight
And here I go
In love again
Here I go-oh wo wo
Like a loco mosquito
I got some energy to burn
But you always want to tap it
Youre busy sucking on my gas tank
Before I can tap it
Like a loco mosquito
round and round and round igo
And when Im hungry
Down I go
Loco mosquito

Train Running Low On Soul Coal
Me train running low on soul coal
They push+pull tactics are driving me loco
They shouldnt do that no no no
They shouldnt do that
Me train running low on dream steam
They pull me whistle too hard me bound to scream
And they shouldnt do that no no no
They shouldnt do that
Think Im going south for the winter
Think Im going mad in this hinterland
Between young and old
Im a thirty year old puppy doing what Im told
And Im told theres no more coal
For the older engines
Me train running low on soul coal
Think Im going south for the winter
Think Im going west and my sprinters speed
Is reduced to a crawl
My rails went straight, but straight into the wall
Its the wall on which they dash the older engines
And all my servants are leaving
Imagination gone packing
Cant find the wound from where Im bleeding
Hes just a nut and hes cracking
Hammer goes down
Brakes all scream
Me and a couple of empty carriages
Slide down hill still
Next stop bad dreamsville
Think Im going south for the winter
Me train running low on soul coal.

Some Go Loco and More Got Woes
How serious.
Just how serious,
Can these times be?
How serious.
Just how serious,
Can these times be?
People out of work with needs to feed.
How serious can these times be?
More homeless seen on many streets.
How serious can these times be?
Hope from this is a wish to elope.
How serious can thes times be?
Wide awake are the more composed.
How serious can these times be?
Some go loco,
And more got woes!
Some go loco,
And more got woes!
Heeeeey...
Where's the aide?
How serious.
Just how serious,
Can these times be?
How serious.
Just how serious,
Can these times be?
People out of work with needs to feed.
How serious can these times be?
More homeless seen on many streets.

Freight Train
Well I just came down from Chippewa
I had a station wagon and a hundred dollars
I was thinkin' about the girl I'd lost a year before
I hadn't seen her for some time
I thought that I might go on by
When your memory came floodin' in
And you closed that door
[CHORUS:]
Wish I was a freight train baby
Wish I was a diesel locomotive
I'd come whistlin' down your track
Crashin' in your door
Wish I was a freight train baby
Wish I didn't have a heart
And you'd need a shovel for the coal
Just to get me started
Wish I was a freight train baby
Wish I was a freight train
Well every time I talk to you
And I hear your jealous lies
I feel like I've been left abandoned
On some old railway side
And every time I hear your voice
My water just gets cold
My stoker will not stoke
And my boiler will not boil
[CHORUS]
Well every time I fell behind
And I could not get ahead
I wish someone would pull the lever
And give me a little sand
And every time I slip behind
Even further back
I wish some switchman would come out of the fog
And change my track
Wish I was a freight train baby
Wish I was a diesel locomotive
I'd come whistlin' down your track
Crashin' in your door
Wish I was a freight train baby
Wish I didn't have a heart
And you'd need a shovel for the coal
Just to get me started
Wish I was a freight train baby
Wish I was a freight train . . .

Me Loco el Cuckoo
Me loco el cuckoo.
Spinning verbal whims...
To some say come easy,
To pick and twist.
And stay sticking with wit.
For those seeking a mental comfortness.
Me loco el cuckoo,
If I choose to!
And I choose to do this to you too!
To leave you with a 'huh'?

As I Am...Was.
No, I don't. I could never think that.
No, I won't. I could never become that.
No, I will never be...like her...Be her..
But..
I became her and now I
And I write these through her beautiful dead eyes
She..
I..
Am a bad girl who often does good
I am a dark heart which sometimes pores light
I'm alone in a sea of blank faces
In a world of hollow graces
Loneliness walks with me all my crooked mornings
He's dumb but his lonely eyes ask me how I feel
'Lonely', I replied
No one to talk to, or who really breathes love into my heart
My heart...
Once loving, once caring, trod broken
Now dead. I'm numb..dumb, and the Crumbs you crushed over to reach your true love...
...which is never me...
Dear life, why bore me? ...inexistence is perfection
My growth left me promises
My dreams made an eagle crawl
The accidents broke my bones
The solitude broke my mind
Their words broke my spirit
As I am...I fear bringing a child into...here
I've fought life for a good life
I walk heads bowed with shame
In fear that the world's mirror reveals my sins
Well I just heard the news today
It says my life is gonna change, yay!
Today it rains heavily as it pours in May
I've forgotten if rain is good or sunshine better
July or when September ends
They all leave with their leaves
Scattered on my shattered life
Sunshine or rain, the pain remains the way
Pin drops, heart breaks, blood splashes
On a cracking ground
My heart beats no more
Stone cold, thread hold
Love walks, eyes cry, life goes on
Bad lucks, rude shocks
Went deaf, blind and dumb...faith
The tunnel flickered a light
Yay! , the end of my tunnel
He told me there's a light at the end of every tunnel
This was her...my light faith, my end trail
Yea, the train, her date with fate
The light, hope at the end of the tunnel
Wasn't light, was...but speeding of a blind train
Breaking the body of a dead soul and broken spirit
Deaf, blind and dumb...faith
Darkness, darkness, train, dead, fate.
Goodbye loneliness, goodbye world.
No I don't. I could never think that.
No, I won't. I could never become that.
No, I will never be...like her...Be her.

The Andamooka Storm
The saltbush stirred in a sullen breeze
At the Coober Pedy Mine,
Where the ground was baked to a shallow crust
With the surface cracked, and lined,
For it hadn't rained for a seven month,
And the sky was clear and blue,
While a spirit crept from the Opal stone,
At Andamooka, too.
At Mintabie, the wind crept out
Of a hole in the sacred ground,
It swirled and it swept across the land
As the spirit scowled and frowned,
It formed a cone and it swept around
To the Andamooka side,
And joined with the Coober Pedy wind
Like a bridegroom to a bride.
The cone spread out three hundred miles,
It growled as it whirled in grace,
And the dust it stirred streamed skywards up
Like a funnel in outer space,
While the men below in the Opal Mines
Hid deep in the dugout's lair,
Lay flat on the floor and held their ears
From the scream of the storm out there!
While less than a hundred miles away
In the depths of a grim old ruin,
Sat a slip of a girl with a surly mouth
At a table, in the gloom,
For piled up high on the table lay
The fruits of her father's life,
The greens and the golds of the Opal stones
That he'd worked for, with his wife.
But the girl sat quite alone in there,
And could it be, she smiled,
These sacks of rocks, not the only things
That lay by the demon child,
For by her hand lay a hammer, stained
With the colour of earth and mud,
And something that glistened and dried on it,
The red of her parents' blood!
She strained and heaved at the sacks of rocks
And dragged them out to the car,
Then looked across at the mound of earth
That covered a gaping scar,
She dragged the last sack to the porch
As the wind burst over the hill,
And she saw the funnel of dust that swirled
As she worked her evil will.
The edge of the swirling hurricane
Whipped over the shallow mound,
Then swept it up in a stream that brought
A scream of a different sound,
She ran out waving her puny fists
At the spirit of Mintabie,
But the storm had growled as the girl had howled
At the storm, to let her be!
The old prospector's body lay
Uncovered at last out there,
His wife beside as she too had died
With the blood running through her hair,
They stared unseeing before them now
At the daughter who screamed and cried,
But the storm drowned out the daughter's shout,
As she tumbled about, outside.
The funnel whirled for an hour, then left,
It ravaged the countryside,
Took a hundred thousand tons of dirt
On a whirling dervish ride,
It covered the Sydney Harbour Bridge
Left cities to choke in the dust,
To tell of a daughter's parricide
And the loss of a mother's trust!
While waiting out by an ancient track
For the next car passing by,
Is a sight to curdle the hardest heart,
Two corpses, side by side,
They lie uncovered, while straight ahead
In line, where their eyes had been,
Is a girl who's buried right up to her neck,
Who couldn't be quite fourteen!

Present Intense
When everything seems to go horribly wrong,
And the walls of doubt start to close in.
The days are too short, and the nights overlong -
It can really make your head spin.
There's just too much month at the end of your money.
You're unable to make both ends meet.
The bills come at once, and it's truly unfunny
When to pay "Paul" you're forced to rob "Pete".
The distant light viewed through a long dark tunnel
Is, in fact, an oncoming train.
And your brolly transforms itself into a funnel
The moment it pours down with rain.
Then, just when you think it can't get any worse,
And believe that good luck will prevail,
You find out you're under some terrible curse
As your roof blows away in a gale!
You hear people talk of those clouds, silver-lined,
That float in the sky overhead.
Yet you can't help the feeling that they must be blind -
That's not silver they're lined with - it's lead! ! !
My advice in these times of extreme tribulation
When "The Twilight Zone" mirrors real life,
Is to see the absurd side of each situation
And to scoff at the source of your strife.
This won't make your problems just disappear
But will lessen their grip on your heart.
It's the best way I know to dissolve the fear.
You'll have strength then to make a new start.

Right Track Wrong Train
The train was leaving at 10 after 10
I got to the station just in time to check in
Ive been bumpin my bags all around
Im trying hard to never knock people down
But I can see I left a few on the ground
And as the train pulls away I can hear the conductor say
Right track wrong train (echoes)
Right track wrong train (echoes)
Im not to blame (echo)
Right track wrong train... train
I read my schedule but my train wasnt there
I re-read my ticket, it said going nowhere
Everybody had the same tatooed face
All the women and men dressed in lace
I think I gotta get out of this place
I shouldve got off before the engineer locked the door
Right track wrong train (echoes)
Right track wrong train (echoes)
Im not to blame (echo)
Right track wrong train, train train train hey !
Hey thats a neat tatoo youre wearing. by the way whered you get it ?
Uh huh. say, is this an express train ? uh huh.
Snack bar ? uh huh. uh huh.
Something is happening so familiar to me
Is this the outer limits like on tv ?
Another empty town fading to gray
Another coca-cola sign on the way
Have a cup of coffee, have a nice day
And as the train pushes on,
Were headed for babylon
Oh no...
Right track wrong train (echoes)
Right track wrong train (echoes)
Right track wrong train...
On the wrong train on the right track
We dont know if shell ever come back
(talking) what train is this ?
Something is happening so familiar to me
Is this the outer limits like on tv ?
Have a cup of coffee, have a nice day (talking)
Yeah, yeah Ill be right there yeah. Im gonna get the next train yeah.

Untitled (Bad Day)
My best days are behind me.
Don't look cause you won't find me
any place you could before.
I'm balled up in the corner;
standby to call the coroner
cause I can't make it, I can't take it anymore.
Sure there's a reason why I'm here,
but that reason's not so clear.
My mind is it's own cancer -
I don't need this,
don't believe this,
just can't seem to find the answer.
It's all a blur
nothing changes, nothing stays the same.
There are no words,
no written pages, no picture just a frame.
There's no light beyond this tunnel -
just a dark consuming funnel
crushing me, pulling me in.
I stare at my reflection
but there's no obvious connection
to what I see and what's within.
How could I feel so empty?
How could things just fall apart?
I'm staring at my finish line
but still thinking how to start.

Big Train
John fogerty
When i was young, i spent my summer days
Playin' on the track.
The sound of the wheels rollin' on the steel
Took me out, took me back.
Big train from memphis,
Big train from memphis,
Now it's gone gone gone, gone gone gone.
Like no one before, he let out a roar,
And i just had to tag along.
Each night i went to bed with the sound in my head,
And the dream was a song.
Big train from memphis,
Big train from memphis,
Now it's gone gone gone, gone gone gone.
Well i've rode 'em in and back out again
You know what they say about trains;
But i'm tellin' you when that memphis train came through,
This ol' world was not the same.
Big train from memphis,
Big train from memphis,
Now it's gone gone gone, gone gone gone.

Bah-pooh-bah-pooh, bop...
Bah-doodo.
Bah-pooh-bah-pooh, bop...
Bah-doodo.
Bah-pooh-bah-pooh, bop...
Bah-doodo.
Aaaaahhhh...
Aaaaahhhh,
Samba loco, baby.
I'm a samba dancing nut!
I love that Latin beat so much...
And the strutting done when I do my stuff.
Samba loco, baby.
I'm a samba dancing nut!
I love that Latin beat so much...
And the strutting done when I do my stuff.
I've got to groove my middle.
Swivel hips and tease.
I've got to be that swift foot hero,
With a rhythm felt that heats...
Everything that sways the beat.
Samba loco, baby.
Bah-dada.
I want to feverize the streets.
With a rhumba samba shown,
Grooving easily.
Bah-pooh-bah-pooh, bop...
Bah-doodo.
Bah-pooh-bah-pooh, bop...
Bah-doodo.
Bah-pooh-bah-pooh, bop...
Bah-doodo.

Aaaaahhhh,
Samba loco, baby.
I'm a samba dancing nut!
I love that Latin beat so much...
And the strutting done when I do my stuff.
Samba loco, baby.
Bah-dada.
Feverize-the-streets.
Ba h-dada
With a rum-ba number samba shown.
And a groove that's easily to reach.
Samba loco, baby.

Lilywhite Lilith
He stands by a middle-aged woman, with a very pale skin who is quietly talking to herself. he discovers she is blind and asking for a guide. whats the use of a guide if you got nowhere to
Uot; asks rael. Ive got somewhere to go, she replies if you take me through the noise, Ill show you. Im a creature of the caves and I follow the way the breezes blow.
He leads her across the room and they leave the crowd, who dismiss their departure as certain to fail.
The chamber was in confusion - all the voices shouting loud.
I could only just hear, a voice quite near say, please help me
Through the crowd
said if I helped her thru she could help me too, but I could
See that she was wholly blind.
But from her pale face and her pale skin, a moonlight shined.
Lilywhite lilith,
She gonna take you thru the tunnel of night
Lilywhite lilith,
She gonna lead you right.
When through the door, the woman leads rael down the tunnel. the light of the chamber soon fades and despite her confident step rael often stumbles in the darkness.
After a long walk they arrive in what rael judges to be a big round cave, and she speaks a second time asking him to sit down. it feels like a cold stone throne.
Rael, sit here. they will come for you soon. dont be afraid. and failing to explain any more she walks off. he faces his fear once again.
When Id led her through the people, the angry noise began to grow.
She said let me feel the way the breezes blow, and Ill show
You where to go.
So I followed her into a big round cave, she said theyre
Coming for you, now dont be afraid.
Then she sat me down on a cold stone throne, carved in jade.
Lilywhite lilith,
She gonna take you thru the tunnel of night.
Lilywhite lilith,
She gonna lead you right.
A tunnel is lit up to the left of him, and he begins to shake. as it grows brighter, he hears a non-metallic whirring sound. the light is getting painfully bright, reflecting as white off the wa
Ntil his vision is lost in a sort of snow blindness.
She leaves me in my darkness,
I have to face, face my fear,
And the darkness closes in on me,
I can hear a whirring sound growing near.
I can see the corner of the tunnel,
Lit up by whatevers coming here.
Two golden globes float into the room
And a blaze of white light fills the air.

For The Love Of Big Brother
Like a train passing in the distance
Black bird in flight
I hear you call
And even though theres no one
Dark shadows move across the wall
I still hear the echo
Of your footsteps on the stairs
Still recall the images that
Seem to live out there
First you see my fingerprints
Like skeletons of leaves on the wall
People changing places
I stand for a moment
And its gone
I still hear the echo
Of your footsteps on the stairs
Still recall the images that
Seem to live out there
Like a train passing in the distance
Black bird in flight
I hear you call
And even though theres no one
Dark shadows move across the wall
I still hear the sound of
Conversations from the hall
Look to see whos coming
But its nothing
And theres no one there at all
(no one there at all)

Death Alone
There are lone cemeteries,
tombs full of soundless bones,
the heart threading a tunnel,
a dark, dark tunnel :
like a wreck we die to the very core,
as if drowning at the heart
or collapsing inwards from skin to soul.
There are corpses,
clammy slabs for feet,
there is death in the bones,
like a pure sound,
a bark without its dog,
out of certain bells, certain tombs
swelling in this humidity like lament or rain.
I see, when alone at times,
coffins under sail
setting out with the pale dead, women in their dead braids,
bakers as white as angels,
thoughtful girls married to notaries,
coffins ascending the vertical river of the dead,
the wine-dark river to its source,
with their sails swollen with the sound of death,
filled with the silent noise of death.
Death is drawn to sound
like a slipper without a foot, a suit without its wearer,
comes to knock with a ring, stoneless and fingerless,
comes to shout without a mouth, a tongue, without a throat.
Nevertheless its footsteps sound
and its clothes echo, hushed like a tree.
I do not know, I am ignorant, I hardly see
but it seems to me that its song has the colour of wet violets,
violets well used to the earth,
since the face of death is green,
and the gaze of death green
with the etched moisture of a violet's leaf
and its grave colour of exasperated winter.
But death goes about the earth also, riding a broom
lapping the ground in search of the dead -
death is in the broom,
it is the tongue of death looking for the dead,
the needle of death looking for the thread.
Death lies in our beds :
in the lazy mattresses, the black blankets,
lives a full stretch and then suddenly blows,
blows sound unknown filling out the sheets
and there are beds sailing into a harbour
where death is waiting, dressed as an admiral.
