Open Book's Monologue Part 4 Bookkeeping

Regular written books or a regular written novel
Could sell
But each copy would essentially be the same
And the words stagnant, unable to change, in a sense lame
Because they cannot move or rearrange
They just never change

But I guess even though I'm an open book that's where we differ
My words do change, and my past is rewritten
When my memories become hazy or hidden
Suddenly I've changed my past, said something different to her
Or him, or supposedly done an action that never did occur.
When witnesses balk and there is no vindication
Nor affirmation
It's hard to keep my memories truthfully
Call me a liar for changing them, but that's me

Bookkeeping is near impossible
Because rewriting my beginnings is possible
It's hard to remember what's fact or fiction
When this novel is just a fantastical rendition
Of what I think my life is or thought my life was
Not what it really is or really was
I think it's because
Those unhappy memories of the past ought
Just to be forgot
So I choose (o so subconsciously) to rewrite them
Only to find they've made my destiny
They've made me- me

It's funny that I write of bookkeeping
And changing the beginning of the book
When I feel so strongly
That such things are impossible for me
So in a sense this poem is a contradiction
But then maybe my changes are just my perception
Of my story because I cannot look back
So I guess I'm wrong... future and past are stained in black
Because as a book I could change what I think
Maybe even float not sink
But that's just my perception, because my story
Is actually
The Immutable tragedy
The tragedy of me
And past... present... future
They won't endure
One day pages will crumble to dust

But I think... I'll go first... Actually I think.... I think...
I must.

Regretting The Past

Everyday I wonder if the choices I made were right
Reliving those times in my memories
Over and over until I doubt my reasons why

Nothing can stop me from going in the future
Or change what I'll do that very second in the present
My choices can not even take me back to the past

I never understand why everything doesn't change when it happens
Allowing me another chance to correct my mistakes
Without looking back into the past that I sometimes will despise

Though I can't change how things happen in my life
Why is it hard to change what I have already done
Reliving the day and changing the future

Yesterdaze

Yesterdaze are gone, along with my youth
I'm older now, and longer, in the tooth
I have very few regrets from the past
You must look forward, there, the die isn't cast

The fog of the past is now hard to remember
Did that happen in October or in September
Yesterdaze can't be overcome, they're done
The choices were made, and it was fun

Much of the ‘70's is a fog in the past
Why change much, except the memories to last
It was my youth and I was a little crazy
That's what really makes it all so hazy

Too many drugs and lots of alcohol
Nobody wanted to change, anything at all
"Live for today", was the overriding theme
So many lost days, make me want to scream

Yesterdaze not tomorrows
Made a life, without many sorrows
Sure it could have been differently done
Maybe I spent too many days in the sun

There's no need to overthink the past
It is what it is, and couldn't last
We move on, with the lessons learned
At least in that daze, my mind wasn't burned

I love my future, and I love my past
Yesterdaze are gone, the future isn't cast
It was a challenge to just live through them
With the Lord's help, Yesterdaze were a gem

Open Book's Monologue Part 2: Perpetual

Perpetual
Eternal
Immutable
Irrevocable
Enduring
Etched in stone
Engraved with blood
The words of an open book remain
The book cannot write itself, but it is a series of stain after stain
Of ink and blood to paper writing a story that cannot be changed
Nor altered, nor made a happy, if tragedy destined to be
Tragedy it shall be, and tragedy for me
If love to be, it shall be, but this will not come
If death to be, it shall be, and shall always come, for all things under the sun
Will one day perish, wither, and die
One day decay will find this spine, and air make page fly
One day ink will fade
Destroying all that was so carefully made
But this is not the cruelty
The cruelty is that the story is immutable
The ending certain
The cruelty is a book is unalterable
The ending the book strives for- in vain
It is GIVEN an ending, with which it has no say
And to this end it SHALL come one day

Constant Time

Time past and the future give way to this present picture,
But can somebody tell me how to recognize that gate that leads to the bed of roses,
We speak about the future like the past is a grain of sand on the shore,
Washed away by the ocean tide,
Giving way to new grains to make a portrait of the present,
These past memories stay deep in our heart like the depths of the ocean,
Though it gets washed back to shore ones in a blue moon,
Reminding us that our past is a standard measurement of our strength,

Time moves so fast making the past to fade away,
this makes us seem so secured about the present,
Forgetting the fact that our present becomes our past that was once a present from nature as a new day,
Some take the future to be a dream and a wish,
But I take my future to be what I see when I stand from the bottom of the mountain to look at the top,
And my past to be the depth of the ocean that can always be washed ashore …
The only thing I can control is my present,
Yes cos my mind controls my hands to give you a flash of what goes on in my head
Like this words i write to you was once my future and will become my past, making my future my past and my past my future..So ironical isn’t it?

Standing here I sure know 1 thing,
I will reach the top by that foot path,
Yes of course it’s not to mean that I wouldn’t fall,
But I have to break myself off my present past and walk with grace to stand where I belong,
There where I am the king of my destiny,
The past is just going to be a page of memories,
And my future will become my present making time constant in my head,
Because I stand on my past which was once my present and my present which was once my future, making time equal and constant
As I flip thru this page of life,

Past, Present, Future

i lived in the past for so long
that the present was always unknown.

now i always look ahead at all the possibilities
and there is so much, that i now see.

a shimmer of light at the end of the tunnel
and my thoughts being poured through a funnel.

the past is the past, and that's where it will stay
and in the present, we have to find a better way.
for the present will soon be our past
and if we don't do something, it will not last.

we must always look to the future
for it is only twenty four hours away
then it will be our past
and we have so much to do and say.

when i look at life, i truely have to laugh
today is our future and tomorrow it'll be our past.

now that i have you confused as to what i am
trying to say.
i guess i will try' to put it a better way'.

we all tend to procrastinate
always leaving it for tomorrow.
but! what if you don't see tomorrow.
and today you did'nt accomplish that task
how will you be remembered
if the present you left for last.

when we leave this material world
and our souls soar up in the sky
we will still have our memories
and that we can rely.

for when we get up there(if we do)
your soul will have carried all that you did
in this life
and the memories of friends, family
husband, or wife.

now when you look down on all that you had did
and asking yourself the question.
did i use my time, the way it was
meant to be?
or did i procrastinate, that others now speak of me?

we all have to work in order to survive.
but we must stop on occasion to smell the flowers.
and to enjoy all that we was given
otherwise how can you call this living.

(my thoughts: the words and stories were given to me.
so that i could write them down, for al the world to see.)
this is my philosophy.

Change in Me

Why I need change?
for better or for the worst?
Any choices to change or not?

I need change when
There is an opportunity to grow and mature
Things being done the wrong way

Dealing with a world of change
I rediscover change
Change is the law of life

Those who look only
to the past or the present
Are certain to miss the future

I may change anything I want or don't want
But I can't change everything I want

My dilemma is
I hate change and
love it at the same time

Best of all
What I want is
For things to remain the same
but get better.

Lastly,
I need strong courage to change,
To master change;
Be the master of change.

Always I want change,
To get where I want to be,
Be the change I want to have.

As the Future Takes Over the Past

What is the past,
but the past
And the present,
but the present?
It is the future that
one must focus on.
Release your past
let it roll off your shoulders
yet in the end if crying
is what you need to do,
then cry release
your sadness
release your
problems
Grasp the future
with both hands
and don't let go.
Feel the future
change you
and allow the change
to come as the future
takes over
the past

I Am Me

I don't care what you may say or think
I am me and I'm not gonna change
I don't care who you are
Its my life
I am me and me wants to sit in dark
And imagine life if you were still here
I don't mind of your thoughts and fears
Sit back and relax for once
Always trying to change me
Why?
Cause I am me and no one can change me
I am the girl who writes and cries
The girl who cares to much
I am me no one can change me
Not even a guy can change me
People needs to take me for who I am
I am me
The girl who loves sports
Why would you want to change me?
Its my life so sit back and watch
I'm gonna stay who I am
Cause I am me
The girl who wants to run like a horse
Just want to chase the stars
The dream of the life time
Why would you want to bring me down?
The girl who wants things never to change
I will be the same thats the fact
Changing me isn't gonna change the fact of this life that I live
I am me
Do you get it now?
I don't want to change
Its my life and I am me
The girl who laughs about anything
The one who grooves to music
I can face the facts that I'm not like the other girls
That's the way I want it to be
No one can change me
No one can erase my past and write it all over
Its been written and I have to live with my mistakes and my fears

The Diary Of Me

Umm pum-pum-pum
Pum-pum, pum-pum, pum-pum
Look behind myself
As I reflect on all the memories
The times they come and go
Lost everything from friends to Family
If I could turn back the hands
There would be some things I'd change about me
I know that my past is not what my future holds
Where I come from
Who could believe
All the pain and misery
Look in my eyes and you'll see
The diary of me
Rewind my life
Just go back and correct all the wrong
And ask God to direct my path
So that I can make it home
And if I could turn back the hands of time
There would be some things I would change about me
But I know that my past is not what my future holds
'Cause
Where I'm from
Who could believe
All the pain, misery
Look in my eyes and you will see
The diary of me
Years ago a child was born (a child was born) (ooh)
And raised without a man (without my... father, and wonder why he's in these streets) (ooh)
My mother's gone (mothers gone, yet still... found the strength to pray for me) (ooh)
But still reached out her hand
Just open the book (na-na-na-na-na-na)
Turn the pages of my life (na-na-na)
And you will read
A true story about one man's journey
Where I'm from (ahh...)
Who would believe, yeah
That all the hurt and pain and misery (ahh...)
Look in my eyes (ahh...)
You'll see the diary of me (pum-pum-pum-pum-pum)
Where I'm from (where I'm from, who could believe) (ahh...)
Who could believe (the hurt and pain and misery)
(Look in my eyes) in my eyes (and you will see) (ahh...)
(The makings of) the makings of
(My diary) my diary
(Where I'm from) look in my eyes (ahh...)
(Who could believe) you'll see
(The hurt and pain and misery)
(Look in my eyes) (ahh...)
(And you will see) yeah-yeah-yeah-yeah
(The makings of my diary)
(Where I'm from...) (ahh...)

People We Meet

It's weird the people you run into
everyday a new person or one from the past
simply amazing when and where
Libraries, stores, bars, anywhere
from a little hello or a face from the past
A lovely little chat can bring memories back
what we call the good ole dazes
it puts a warm feeling when you touched someone
knowing they remember you, you remembering them
finding out you have a lot in common
but so different in the past
social status changes over the years
but we all still find out we're still the same
money does change the past, changes the future
but touching a person's live can be endless
we were mean and cruel to some in our past
but maturity and experience may have taught us to be better
Hold no or grudges towards the past
look to the present and to treat people the same
people make the world the way it is
so we need to show the young the way
treat classmates, neighbors, strangers right
the way you want to be treated
they may treat you better back
for strangers we touch may be our friends in the future
make a gesture to someone and the gesture may be returned
love to touch a ole classmate's, neighbor's or stranger's life
kindness and friendliness starts with you
make day with a post, a hello, a letter
memories good or bad can make us a better person
meeting people one by one make me write of times we met
the stories we do tell of yesteryear.

To Me Tou Are A Forbidden Love

When i close my eyes and think,
I remember the dreams that i had,
Against all memories and past,
To me you are a forbidden love.

I remember my dreams that i had,
I wish i could stop the time,
So i can get back in my past,
And fix what i destroyed.

Against all memories and past,
I'm same woman, i'll never change,
Only your love made me understand one thing,
I gave it all i had the best in me.

To me you are forbidden love,
Against all memories and past,
I remember the dreams that i had,
When i close my eyes to think.

To Welcome the New

To Welcome the new,
Release the old
To enter the future,
Let go the past
To take up new lives,
Give away those lived.

It sounds so practical,
It seems so sensible,
It should be so feasible
It should be easy.

It’s none of the above,
Yet in some ways
Tho’ it’s almighty hard,
We do it each of our days.
We just move forward.

We are made to change,
We are shaped for change,
We survive by change,
We live in a storm of change,
From the Maker’s hand.

Today was another change,
We stand on the edge of vast change,
And afraid or unafraid of great change,
We all walked forward.

Some may say we had no choice,
Others say even that is a choice,
But I say that by hand and voice,
We all make a difference.
We always can,
We always will.
It is what we do.
We are the changers, and the changed.
And we go forward.

The chance to change

There are some things I would like to change
But what are they? It’s hard to say
The chain reaction, and domino effect
Would change the image, the mirror reflects?

If I change the past and the things I’ve done
It would change the person that I’ve become
Sure there are things that I regret
Some people I would rather not have met

But if I remove them all, from my life
I may have not become, a mother a wife
Although my marriage didn’t last
It’s not something I’d erase from my past

If I was to choose a different path
I would never have heard my children laugh
That, I am not willing to change
That will have to remain the same.

So I think I’ll keep things the way they are
Why dream of change? When I’ve made it this far
I won’t regret choosing this path
I’ll keep the chance to hear my children laugh

Past times are strange
Sometimes funny
Sometimes sad
The past

The wounds of the past
Never heal
Never leave

And doesn’t change

Talking Book

I wish I had a talking book
That told me how to act and look
A talking book that contained keys
To past and present memories
A talking book that said your name
So if you were gone, youd still remain
More than a picture on a shelf
In imagination I could touch
A talking, talking book
I wish I had a talking book
Filled with buttons you could push
Containing looks and sights, your touch
Your feel, your breath, your sounds, your sighs
How much Id bluster to ask it why
One must live and one must die
I wish I had a talking book
By my side so I could look
And touch and feel and dream, a look
Much bigger than a talking book
A taste of loving future and past
Is that so much to really ask
In this one moments time and space
Can our love really be replaced
By a talking book
Can our love really be replaced
By a talking book
Can our love really be replaced
By a talking book
Can our love ever, forever be replaced
Can our love ever be replaced
Can our love ever be replaced
(can our love really be replaced)
By a talking book

Time

Time is a nonspacial continuum
In which events occur in obvious
Irreversible sequencing union:
Past, present and future, continuous.
What does all this mean to us in our lives?
Well, we have many memories don’t we?
Shared with our loved ones and our relatives.
Past experiences that once were new
Are now old, recyclable memories.
Those timely abstract musings cling to
Everyone: today's contemporaries.
The entire past is what we are anew.
The present is shaped by this time “before”
And hinged on what the future holds in store.

Red book - The Rule Is You Must Say How You Really Feel.

Reading the red book. It tries to explain the rules of life. Never too fast, never too fast, it says it won't last. Burnt by the past. Some new so close to you. You must get to know them. Its a game you can slowly win. Bury your true feelings.

Reading the read book. It tries to explain the rules of life. Never to fast, never too fast. It says it won't last burnt by the past. We are all wearing masks. Time to take them off. Stop hiding behind your walls. It cost us all. It will be your down fall. Just another phone call. Meeting the face behind this stall. It has come to a sudden halt.

Reading the read book. It tries to explain the rules of life. Never too fast, never too fast. It says it won't last. Burnt by the past. Are we trying to hard? Are we faking this march? Are you trying to hide something underneath? Are you look for a little relief? Do you want me, and are afraid to say it? Denying our insides. They can't be alive. They just can't. And go back to the old dance.

Reading the red book. It tries to explain the rules of life. Never too fast, never too fast. It says it won't last. Burnt by the past. Memories ignite, previous passions locked up so tight. Are you willing? Are you giving in to obvious feelings. Let me know. And I won't go. Please stop the fruadlent show. Its faking thats so heart breaking. Is your heart aching? How can I make you understand this is your one and only chance. So please lets dance.

Reading the red book. It tries to explain the rules of the past. Never too fast, never too fast. It says it won't last. Burnt by the past. I have been burnt by the past.
