I gather, young man, that you wish to be a Member of Parliament. The first lesson that you must learn is, when I call for statistics about the rate of infant mortality, what I want is proof that fewer babies died when I was Prime Minister than when anyone else was Prime Minister. That is a political statistic.

No woman in my time will be prime minister or chancellor or foreign secretary - not the top jobs. Anyway, I wouldn't want to be prime minister; you have to give yourself 100 percent.

Admitting, however, for the sake of argument, that I am prime and sole minister in this country, am I, therefore, prime and sole minister of all Europe? Am I answerable for the conduct of other countries as well as for that of my own?

Better Off Dead
(rod stewart / chen, savigar, cregan, grainger, appice)
Call the girls and dress up fine
Tonight I felt like suicide
Roll them dice and pour the wine
Shuffle them cards and deal them fine
Got nobody to kiss tonight
Nothing to lose but my appetite
Wanna be silly and sing and shout
Gotta get legless and fall about
Turn the music up nice and loud
Cheer me up dont bring me down
Gonna lose my job next week
Getting replaced by a silicone chip
I might have been a hero
But I chose to stay in bed
I might have been prime minister
But right now honey Im better off dead
I might have been a hero
But I chose to stay in bed
I might have been prime minister
But right now honey Im better off dead
Dont like the scenery dont like the set
Tear it all down and start again
Man keeps talking on the radio
Telling me what I dont wanna know
Radiation wars and layatril
If tax dont get ya then cancer will
I might have been a hero
But I chose to stay in bed
I might have been prime minister
But right now honey Im better off dead
I might have been a hero
But I chose to stay in bed
I might have been prime minister
But right now honey Im better off dead
Better off dead, better off dead
Better off dead, better off dead

Tigers without stripes
A large striped animal of the cat family
the tiger, in Sri Lankan jungle you don't find.
There are only leopards with spots
and no stripes at all.
Let them call themselves tigers
we have no any objections
but we are worried only about their mass killings.
The late Indian Prime Minister Mrs. Indhira.Ghandhi
who 'breast-fed' these tiger cubs?
and when they grew up provided part of her own nation
to train them how to hold a gun.
It backfired and she lost her pilot son
the Prime Minister Mr. Rajiv.Ghandhi
killed by her 'foster' sons.
Even an infant of this world knows this sad tale
but unfortunately 'Norwegian uncles' still shed crocodile tears
for these untamed animals.
Dedication to Mr.Hans.Brattskar, Mr. Erik.Solheim, Mr.Lars.Johan.Solvberg, Mr.Ranil.Wickramasinghe & et cetera.

Are We Falling Short?
A provincial premier should be appointed prime minister each year,
Because we don't vote for our prime minister by name right here,
We vote for someone in his party and sometimes we're not sure,
Because the party system can sometimes be very obscure.
Or in order to elect a prime minister, we should see his name,
On a special ballot because this is a serious game,
And the religion-like party system should be rearranged,
For individuals - not parties - and not considered strange.
I realize of course that this idea will be shot down,
Appointed high aristocrats want to keep their dressing gowns,
Proportional representation and binding referendums please,
Because the way things are now; it's the parties they appease.
They say that the Senate is a place of sober second thought,
Where unknown establishment appointees are never distraught,
Did I mention we need an elected Senate and High Court?
Because under our present system we seem to fall short.

Panacea
Panacea for the worlds ills.
Chicken soup in America.
'Mr President, the twin-towers
were destroyed by el caida terrorists.'
The President replies:
'You wouldn't have any chicken soup
on you, would you? '
A cup of tea in England.
'Prime Minister, the nazis have bombed
the shyte out of London.'
Prime Minister replies:
'Bastards, we'd better have a cup of tea
and think about this.'

The Gordon Back Step (Fun Poem 102)
Lets all do the Gordon back step.
We will make a decision
and when that falls flat
we will all step back
and apologize for that
and do the Gordon back step
like our Prime Minister likes to do.
I am sure it would make
a great dance to do.
First, make a decision
as daft as the last one you made.
Step forward with a proposal
and watch out for the no’s to the left.
Then step back and apologize for that
and do the Gordon back step.
It is so easy to do
or at least our Prime Minister
makes it look that way.

John Howard In Retirement
John Howard in retirement he lives the good life
With Janette one can say his devoted wife
His term as Australian Prime Minister by the voters was brought to an end
But with fame and money he won't go short of a friend
Howard's Government policies did not unite but divide
Their Work Choices did get the Trade Unions offside
But the Government defeated and their Work Choices with them gone
A win for the Workers and the Unions live on
Kevin Ruud who dethroned him may well celebrate
But on him there too is an unseen use by date
By the Australian voters as Prime Minister empowered
But will his fate be that any different to Howard?
The one who divided and could not unite
He failed when he took on the Trade Union's might.

Star, still a kid
Star, still a kid
A national function
National Child Achievers’ Award
For demonstrated excellence
In far-reaching talents
In art, science, mathematics
And for skillful display
Of courage and valour
President, Prime Minister and
A host of great dignitaries gracing the function
Minister for Human Resources Development
Herself reading out the citation
And presenting the awardees
The medallion and the certification
A kid of nine years
Chosen for the award
For the ability to solve
In a very short interval
Problems in mathematics
Requiring complicated calculations
And for the skill in reciting
From memory voluminous
Ancient scriptures
The child came on to the stage
The Minister read the citation
Decorated the kid with medallion
The President and the Prime Minister
Walked up to the kid
And greeted her
When asked how she feels about this
National Award
The Awardee started telling
In her own style and in a broken shrill voice
Today is Thursday
I will reach home by Saturday
I am in fact on the wait for
Monday to come
I will attend school that day
To show this medallion and certificate
In the school assembly
And on top of it
My class teacher will put a star
Against that day in my diary
For having won this award
Which is the greatest exciting thing for me
Yes,
Star, still a kid

We Need Changes Now
The changes we need, for the most part, remain well hidden,
By the media or the Supreme Court, they are strongly forbidden,
Can’t even be discussed at elections because it’s never allowed,
To think about this, could put you under a human-rights cloud.
A provincial premier should be prime minister each year,
Not politicians trying to turn the top job into a career,
No parties claiming to have special parliamentary rights,
Votes in parliament should be by individuals – not party fights.
We need death with dignity and binding referendums to start,
Not a remote idea from some political bleeding heart,
We need proportional representation in every ward,
It should be the people – not the politicians – who scored.

Minister Of Rock 'n' Roll
I'm the minister of Rock N Roll
I can heal you
I can save your soul
You better stop foolin' around
I can touch you
I can make you whole
I can bless it so it doesn't get old
Come on and turn it up loud
You can call me
You know I'll be right there
You can call me
And I'll be standing there
I'm the minister of Rock N Roll
I'll make you freak and
Make you lose control
I'm a minister of Rock N Roll
Highway to Heaven and your pot of gold
Come on and join the crowd
I'm a fire when you're feeling cold
I'll make you freak
And make you lose control
What are you waiting for now?
You can call me
You know I'll be right there
You can call me
And I'll be standing there
I'm the Minister of Rock N Roll
I'll make you freak
And make you lose control
I'm the Minister of Rock N Roll
I'll make you freak
And make you lose control
I'm the Minister of Rock N Roll
