Two Kinds Of Women
There are two kinds of women
in this world of ours.
The ones you love
and the ones that drive you crazy.
If you are lucky,
you only find the ones you love,
unlucky and you’ll find
the ones that drive you crazy.
Unfortunately, you have to live with them
to find out, which is which.
I have been lucky until recently
when a friend came on holiday
and for the two weeks, she stayed,
she wanted to control our lives,
hijacking everything
we had dreamed about.
Happily, as we pack up today
we will part company
I say with a smile
and I can get back to leading a normal life.
Fingers crossed that is.

Women's Changing Times (a comical truth)
In days of old when knights were bold
And poetry was invented.
They would tell of their love
And all that was intended.
They would speak of their hearts
And all they felt inside.
and show their feelings
That their armor would tend to hide.
In olden days a women’s heart was softer
Than it is today.
And poetry would prevail in every sort of way.
Now the women are as cold as some men
And their hearts they will not bend.
Now they choose to live together
And they say: “it is much better“
They do not need a paper to have relations
And they avoid the devastations.
They can pack up and leave if they choose
And it‘s the man who will lose.
Now the women are more in control
And it’s a story that’s very old.
Behind every successful man there is a lady
And if you don’t listen to her, she will drive you crazy.
They are in every field, and every job you find
And if you don’t accept it, you’re behind the times.
There is truth behind these lines, and you know
It just as well as me.
Unless you are completely blind, and this you cannot see.
And if you deny this fact, all the women will turn their backs.
So let us all accept, that the constitution has some truth.
But they have to change the words to
Men and women are created equal.
Otherwise there will be a continuing sequel.

Relaxing
All year you wait for your holidays
and when they finally arrive,
time steals them so quickly
you wonder where they’ve gone.
The two weeks disappear as quickly
as you can snap your fingers.
At the beginning of your holiday,
you have so much to pack in.
You rush around here and there.
It is harder than being at work,
this trying to have some fun.
Yet we are relaxing we say,
running around in circles everyday.
At the end of the two weeks,
we are exhausted by all our fun
and look forward to work
and slowing down a pace.
That may sound crazy,
but that is exactly what we do.

Mysteries Of My Life
There are many mysteries in my life
for which an answer for I do not possess.
Why after an almost a lifetime
of wishing I had a brother
only to find did when it was too late
to really get to know him?
Why after fulfilling a wish of a late friend
would the acknowledgement
that I yearned for
start to really, begin?
Why when I never wanted to drive
did I get involve in an accident
as a passenger and changed my mind?
Why after yearning to capture my past
and talk to some old school friends
did I find a stranger I barely knew,
but whom when we met recognised one another instantly
and hugged one another intensely
never wanting to let go
and when it came to part again, we felt like family.
I always have more questions
than answers to possess.
Why with the passing of each day
more mysteries come my way?
There is no logical reason
for all the mysteries in my life,
they just happen to surprise me
one every corner that I turn.
I hold no sorrow for them happening
only happiness and joy.
A Gypsy once told me
I was born under a lucky star.
It is possible she was right.
Lucky in my friends
and my extended families
that stretch around the world.
I think no man can call himself
luckier than that.
