Beyond the bridge of hope
lies the land of charity
and with a little faith
one day I may get there.
Where everything is equal
and shared equally the same.
Faith leads as we venture
on across the bridge of hope
and into the arms of charity.
Each day we may struggle
to keep our lives afloat
as we venture closer
to the bridge of hope.

Hope is forever dreaming
Faith is forever pure
While charity weighs up its lot
So its life it can endure.

Hope is forever youthful
Faith has no greying hair
While charity is ageless
So it is forever there.

For faith and hope and charity
Are of each of us a part
The measures there between them
Are what balances our heart.

Bridge To Tomorrow

I stand on the bridge to tomorrow
where on the other side
there is always hope
for caring and understanding
leading into new friendships
and new lives.
Where we can only cross
when this day passes from our lives.
The bridge to tomorrow
where on the other side
our dreams will come true.
Where our lives as we know it
will change we hope for the better
and see new things
blossoming in our lives.

destiny awaits to change our lives.

These three

Faith; hope; and loving-kindness;
these three surpass all worldly understanding:

all these await in human nature
as inclinations that are natural;
to be awakened by the grace
that ever waits within us:

as these arise, faith takes the precedence;
then follows, hope; itself precedes
the love, the charity, the loving-kindness;

yet if alas, disorder, dissolution intervene,
first, love is lost; then hope;
and last of all goes faith;

yet, when these come into their perfection,
greatest of all these, is love;

hope and faith are then the charity
which love may shower on the world around
circle on circle as the gentle rain from heaven.

Faith, Hope And Charity

Within the dark gloomy night
three ladies with lanterns await
to guide us along the path
and lead us safely home.
The ladies are simply called
Faith, Hope and Charity.

Faith
is our faith we hold
as a bond so dear
that the good Lord
will guide us away
from the evil that we hear.

Hope
is that new beginning
that rises with the morning sun
that our day will be
filled with abundance
of joy, laughter and love
from dawn to dusk.

Charity
is for the helping hand
that we sometimes need,
but we also give
along our way home.
The hand we out stretch
to someone who has fallen along the way.

They are three sisters of mercy
that are always around,
the ones that show us the way
when we have fallen on rocky ground.
The three saviours in our life,
Faith, Hope and Charity.

Were There Hope

I was never in a league of noble gentlemen
To whom she'd cast polite and flitting smiles,
Only distant hope and dying dreams for me!
Or perhaps descent into a game of wiles

To give a chance of sipping wine on heady nights
With her angelic presence to declare;
Above, an aura playing out hypnotic hues,
And I in awe of blonde cascades of hair.

But no! my tiring soul is sinking in a mire
To haunt me for an age and evermore, for
How could I expect to hold her silken hand
When I am but a soulless ghost of yore?

A Little Hope

They say that time is a great healer
But is that really true?
Does having faith in others
Mean they have faith in you?
Does hope and faith get misunderstood for each other?
To have more faith will we win?
To have more hope will we believe?
The truth to that is down to us,
If we believe in the thing's we know and trust
Then we will believe in them,
We have to have faith in ourselves to truly believe what is real,
We may find that the bible is our protector and believe that is true,
Only we can stand tall and all unite as one,
No one said there was no god!
But truly do we believe there is?
Do we know if god really cares?
Who knows that is where our faith to believe comes in,
We have the faith to believe he is and the hope he may help,
Do not give up on your faith and believes,
Faith leads to trust,
And without it we would be lonely,

Faith, Hope, Trust

Faith is a feeling of misconception.
I have Faith in myself,
But should I have Faith in you?
The real challenge is retaining Faith in us.

Hope is a state that is unsteady.
I can Hope to find Faith,
But will Hope cure the fallacy that is us?
Hoping to have Faith gives life more demand.

Trust is an idea that troubles me.
I must Trust in my Hope of finding Faith,
But will that Trust finally induce our perfect peace?
Or should I Trust that your Faith in us is Hopeless?

In order to have Faith in us,
I must first show Faith in you.
Untill I believe you have Hope in us,
I'll keep the Hope that us is true.
And when you start to Trust in us,
You can Trust I will see it through.

Charity

Charity begins at home,
Love begins in the womb,
Hope is the mind that lives at peace always.

The bud opens,
The flower blossoms,
Charity envies not;
So, let no man despise your youth and beauty.

A kiss of charity,
Like a true proverb;
Charity out of a pure heart is full of kindness.

When the Almond Tree blossoms,
Charity is full of love;

An Address to the New Tay Bridge

Beautiful new railway bridge of the Silvery Tay,
With your strong brick piers and buttresses in so grand array,
And your thirteen central girders, which seem to my eye
Strong enough all windy storms to defy.
And as I gaze upon thee my heart feels gay,
Because thou are the greatest railway bridge of the present day,
And can be seen for miles away
From North, South, East or West of the Tay
On a beautiful and clear sunshiny day,
And ought to make the hearts of the "Mars" boys feel gay,
Because thine equal nowhere can be seen,
Only near by Dundee and the bonnie Magdalen Green.
Beautiful new railway bridge of the Silvery Tay,
With thy beautiful side-screens along your railway,
Which will be a great protection on a windy day,
So as the railway carriages won`t be blown away,
And ought to cheer the hearts of the passengers night and day
As they are conveyed along thy beautiful railway,
And towering above the Silvery Tay,
Spanning the beautiful river shore to shore
Upwards of two miles and more,
Which is most beautiful to be seen
Near by Dundee and the bonnie Magdalen Green,

Thy structure to my eye seems strong and grand,
And the workmanship most skilfully planned;
And I hope the designers, Messrs Barlow and Arrol, will prosper for many a day
For erecting thee across the beautiful Tay.
And I think nobody need have the least dismay
To cross o`er thee by night or by day,
Because thy strength is visible to be seen
Near by Dundee and the bonnie Magdalen Green.

Beautiful new railway bridge of the Silvery Tay,
I wish you success for many a year and a day,
And I hope thousands of people will come from faraway,
Both high and low without delay,
From the North, South, East and West,
Because as a railway bridge thou art the best;
Thou standest unequalled to be seen
Near by Dundee and bonnie Magdalen Green.

And for beauty thou art most lovely to be seen
As the train crosses o'er thee with her cloud of steam;
And you look well, painted the colour of marone,
And to find thy equal there is none,
Which, without fear of contradiction, I venture to say,
Because you are the longest railway bridge of the present day
That now crosses o'er a tidal river stream,
And the most handsome to be seen
Near by Dundee and the bonnie Magdalen Green.

The New Yorkers boast about their Brooklyn Bridge,
But in comparison to thee it seems like a midge,
Because thou spannest the Silvery Tay
A mile and more longer I venture to say;
Besides the railway carriages are pulled across by a rope,
Therefore Brooklyn Bridge cannot with thee cope;
And as you have been opened on the 20th day of June,
I hope Her Majesty Queen Victoria will visit thee very soon,
Because thou art worthy of a visit from Duke, Lord or Queen,
And strong and securely built, which is most worthy to be seen

By faith we are loved –
By those who care for us.

Dreams Make the World Go 'Round

'Hope is a waking dream.' Aristotle

Hope is a dream - a survival of our inner thoughts,
Love is a hope that opens up our hearts,
A smile in our face that makes the love go round,
Your word and mine - its meaning well defined.

A dream woven in earnest honesty
A resolute of hope that love awaits for thee,
For we'll survive in hope that dreams gone by
A bridge connects our distance way up high.

The dream we make - a light shines in our eyes,
Connections made a way back in our present lives,
To think of us in dreams of hope impart
A promise persevered in the nook of our faithful heart.

Though dreams let go of love for now to explore,
The dream of love way back still strong and so secure,
For dreams survive in hope for love's stronghold
The torch of hope - still a dream we do uphold.

Live on with dreams to make your world go round,
Lock away the hope of love for now 'till time is ripe,
Connect that bridge 'make hope a waking dream'
Hope to survive for love the second time again.

If one can Hope

Probably only one memory
Fragile bridge passed the river rapids
The bridge was really glad
when your feet step on
Stand up on top of tweak

And finally you can run on it

you took everything from me

but you forgot to take something from me
my hope! you can't take it from me
cos you don't even know i have it

With faith, hope and love, let us we pray.
We believe in this new union today,
And hope that it will always display
Mutual love, respect and equal say.

There’ll be highs and lows in future years.
Many smiles though a few tears.
A wondrous future there’ll always be
If faith, hope and love are family.

Through tribulations this union will need
To be placed ahead of self wants and greed.
At times success will need a healthy shove
