Only Fools
The beacon light
stretches out from the shore
to warn passing ships
of the dangers
that are lurking
hidden from their view
Now with everything
we need a beacon light
to help show us
the safest way through.
Love is like a minefield
one false step and then we are through.
Only fools do not take heed
of dangers they cannot see.
They rush head on into things
regardless of the dangers lurking there.
They feel they have charmed lives,
that nothing can hurt them there.
How many fools,
have we seen,
with broken hearts
littered everywhere,
and being fools they are,
they do not really care.
Others tread a wearier path,
ensuring it’s on solid ground.
However, that does no guarantees
to them love will ever be found.
I’d rather be the fool,
and see love everywhere.

In Our Lives
In our lives, past and present,
we had ignorance untold,
and the virus was unpleasant,
it releases dangers we could not hold.
On the path of injustice and inequality,
and revelation that had to show,
Enlightenment before reaching our destiny,
on that widening road of tomorrow.
But however dark the night may be,
the darkness leaves more mystery,
surrounding the centuries that smudges history.
And the curses do not seem to fade away,
as fast as blessings come infrequently.
The torment keeps on clinging,
with such ominous numbing fear,
of dangers that the future may be bring,
we see through a glass darkly obstacles unclear.
Unstable people waver when facing the truth,
But only one Christ can be our savior,
We were already doom from birth,
Cast in with the lords despise few to be deliver.
Out of the realm of sad destitute,
Into the splendor of a marvelous light,
That every human possess flesh and spirit,
Our lives are a beacon in the night.
Responsibility falls on every individual,

A Dreamers Lament
Once a love now withered in dust,
the flame that kindled candles glow,
of dreams and pastures nightmare past,
a glass unseen splinters so.
The conjured love young hearts bring,
so fine and neatly traced,
disappear within the years
that fondly take their grace.
A sonnet of bestowing fame,
lay years to be unseen,
like tokens in a daydream case
that hurry passed in haste.
A tormented soul in darkness,
awaits its freedoms light,
but passing time awaits no one,
in its rush to pass.
The swiftness of a cupid’s arrow,
within no mortal dream.
The flight of a songbird in the sky,
will a way want not.
