On The Street Of Regret
In a bar, a lonely person sits
trying to drink their troubles away.
Some are there for lost loves
others for the loss of someone
very dear to them
and some just gather for the company
to help pass the time away.
Some are depressed
at the way life has gone
and the bottle seems the only solution
to right that every wrong.
They all gather in the bar on the street of regret
and drink away the hours
hoping the world to forget.

Crazy Mary
she lived on a curve in the road, in an old tar-paper shack
On the south side of the town, on the wrong side of the tracks
Sometimes on the way into town we'd say:
"mama, can we stop and give her a ride?"
Sometimes we did but her hands flew from her side
Wild eyed, crazy mary
Down along the road, past the parson's place
The old blue car we used to race
Little country store with a sign tacked to the side
Said "no l-o-i-t-e-r-i-n-g allowed"
Underneath that sign always congregated quite a crowd
Take a bottle, drink it down, pass it around
Take a bottle, drink it down, pass it around
Take a bottle, drink it down, pass it around
One night thunder cracked mercy backed outside her windowsill
Dreamed i was flying high above the trees, over the hills
Looked down into the house of mary
Bare bulb on, newspaper-covered walls, and mary rising up above it all
Next morning on the way into town
Saw some skid marks, and followed them around
Over the curve, through the fields, into the house of mary
That what you fear the most, could meet you halfway
That what you fear the most, could meet you halfway
Take a bottle, drink it down, pass it around
Take a bottle, drink it down, pass it around
Take a bottle, drink it down, pass it around

We Gather Together...
We Gather Together...
We gather together...
...for there is strength in your name
We gather together...
...to rekindle the flame
We gather together...
...Your kingdom we claim
We gather together...
...Your words we proclaim

Drown My Sorrows
I’m sitting alone in the Blue Parrot Bar,
my world has fallen apart.
The woman I love has said goodbye
there’s no love for me in her heart.
We once said we were made for each other
and I believed it with all of my heart.
I’m taking my first drink from this bottle;
after a few the forgetting should start.
We used to get on so well together,
we shared every minute of the day.
I’ll take another drink from this bottle
now that she’s cast my love away.
I just can’t stop thinking about her,
nothing will ever be the same.
I’ll take another drink from this bottle,
maybe it’ll help to numb the pain.
When I reach the bottom of this bottle
her memory should have gone,
so I’ll finish what’s left in the bottle.
My mistake, it’s going to take more than one.

Losted Souls
Welcome all you losted souls
fairies and gnomes
take glass of sweet smirnoff
feel stolischnaya in your mouth
join to trebak and let rythm of
balalaika lead your steps
gather around the fire
feel flames dancing in your hearts
twisted minds
drink, drink it’s time for joy
drown your sorrow’s to bottle
of magical joy
let trebak lead your steps
and forget all in past
forget saddness, sorrow and worries
we may have only this moment
so live, live and enjoy
taste, smell and touch
everything you see
to make you feel alive again..

Drink Yer Glasses Empty
Listen up and Ill tell you what youll do
Forget about music and alcohol to
Forget about yer baby, weve got other work for you
Better drink yer glasses empty now, its time to rise n shine
Theres one less cause in the world to be leavin for
It was back in 39 when I was one year old
Sitting by the backyard fence and the world had turned to cold
Drink yer glasses empty now was all that they were told
Drink yer glasses girls and boys, its time to hit the sky
To the tune of thunder, theres no time to wonder why
Wed love to take life over, that is plain
Forget about sorrow, forget about pain
And watch a john wayne movie to remind us once again
Better drink yer glasses empty now, its time to hit the line
You got one less cause in the world to be leavin for
Drink yer glasses girls and boys, its time to hit the sky
To the tune of thunder, theres a tear in every eye
Id like to take things one at a time
Forget about reason, forget about rhyme
Because beg, steal, or borrow you got another hill to climb
So drink yer glasses empty now, its time to hit the road
Theres one less cause in the world to be leavin for
Drink yer glasses girls and boys, its time to hit the sky
To the tune of thunder, theres no time to wonder why
Wed like to take life over again
When time of war had passed away into the rain
And watch a john wayne movie to remind us of the planes
Just drink yer glasses empty now, its time to rise n shine
Theres one less cause in the world to be leavin for

Drink It In
How many days are left
And what to spend them on
Should I keep working
Or sit and marvel at the sky
I think about your skin
Your fragile skin
The heaven of life we're living in
Drink it in, drink it in deeper
I pray a life your soul to keep
Drink it in, drink it in
Pink clouds scatter
My heart beats clear
For all the hearts that I hold dear all
Drink it in, drink it in deeper
I pray a life your soul to keep
Drink it in, drink it in deeper
I pray a life your soul to keep
Drink it in, drink it in
Drink it in, drink it in

Have A Drink On Me
Whiskey, gin and brandy
With a glass Im pretty handy
Im trying to walk a straight line
On sour mash and cheap wine
So join me for a drink boys
Were gonna make a big noise
So dont worry about tomorrow
Take it today
Forget about the cheque
Well get hell to pay
Have a drink on me
Have a drink on me
Yeah
Have a drink on me
Have a drink on me
On me
Come on
Dizzy, drunk and fightin
On tequila white lightnin
My glass is getting shorter
On whiskey, ice and water
So come on and have a good time
And get blinded out of your mind
So dont worry about tomorrow
Take it today
Forget about the cheque
Well get hell to pay
Have a drink on me
Have a drink on me
Have a drink on me
Have a drink on me
On me
Get stoned
Have a drink on me
Have a drink on me
Yeah
Have a drink on me
Come on
Oooh
Gonna roll around
Gonna hit the ground
Take another swing
Have another drink
Gonna drink it dry
Gonna get me high
Come on all the boys
Make a noise
Chorus
Have a drink on me
Have a drink on me
Have a drink on me
Have a drink on me
Have a drink on me
Have a drink on me
Have a drink on me
Have a drink on me
Have a drink oooooooon me

Drink Poetry, Oh Ye of Small Faith
Drink poetry, oh ye of small faith:
Drink poetry from a bottle
Drink poetry from a book
Drink poetry from a fountain
Take another look.
Drink for sanctuary
Drink for inspiration
Drink for endurance
But never hesitation.
A toast to poetry
And a toast to time
A toast to us:
Live forever in rhyme.

I Won't Be Lonely Tonight
Standing alone in the night
People talk around me
Under the neon street light
Tryin' hard to hold on
I need somebody's love to
Surround me
Tossing a coin in the air
Making my decision
What has gone wrong with my life
I've drunk all my religion
I need somebody's love
To remind me
I won't be lonely tonight
All I want's another baby
I won't be lonely tonight
All I need's another baby
Heads I leave town in the night
Tails I drink a bottle
If it should land on its side
I'll return to love you
I need somebody's life to
Surround me
I won't be lonely tonight
All I want's another baby
I won't be lonely tonight
All I need's another baby
And this is the last time
I wanna be
I'm gonna be
I won't be lonely tonight
All I want's another baby
I won't be lonely tonight
All I need's another baby

Obelisks
Let me remember old trails
Let me weep over lost loves
They are all the same love
But different
Let me remember old trails
Cherry trees along muddy roads
And ancient obelisks
They are now so different
But still the same
Let me remember missteps
Let me regret wrong paths
They are all the same path
But different
The seasons always alter
Or they hardly ever change
Only the hours pass
Time stands still
And your love is mine
Let me remember old lanes
Let me weep over old loves
They are all different
But still the same
Let me remember good times
Life in its fleeting flight
Days of yore that vanished
They are still the same
But different
The seasons always alter
Or they hardly ever change
Only the hours pass
Time stands still
And my love is yours
Let me take new roads
Let me praise new loves
They are all the same love
But different

I Was Hoping
as we were taking outside it was cold we were shivering yet warmed by the subject matter
my wife is in the next room we've been having troubles you know please don't tell her or anyone
but I need to talk to somebody
you said "wouldn't it be a shame if I knew how great I was five minutes before I died i'd be filled
with such regret before I took my last breath" and I said "you're willing to tell me this now
and you're not going to die any time soon"
and I said I haven't been eating chicken or meat or anything and you said yes
but you've been wearing leather and laughed and said we're at the top of the food chain
and yes you're a fine woman and I cringed
I was hoping I was hoping we could heal each other
I was hoping I was hoping we could be raw together
we left the restaurant where the head waiter (in his 60's) said "good-bye sir thank you for your business sir you're
successful and established sir and we like the frequency with which you dine here sir
and your money" and when I walked by they said "thank you too dear" I was all pigtails and cords
and there was a day when I would've said something like "hey dude I could buy and sell this place so kiss it"
I too once thought I was owed something
I was hoping I was hoping we could challenge each other
I was hoping I was hoping we could crack each other up
I too thought that when proved wrong I lost somehow
I too once thought life was cruel
it's a cycle really you think i'm withdrawing and guilt tripping you I think you're insensitive
and I don't feel heard and I said do you believe we are fundamentally judgmental? fundamentally evil?
and you said yes I said I don't believe in revenge in right or wrong good or bad you said
"well what about that man that I saw handcuffed in the emergency room bleeding after beating his kid
and she threw a shoe at his head.
I think what he did was wrong and I would've had a hard time feeling compassion for him"
I had to watch my tone for fear of having you feel judged.
I was hoping I was hoping we could dance together
I was hoping I was hoping we could be creamy together

The Last Assembly
As I walked to the last assembly,
There were tears in the back of my eyes,
And I saw all my friends all around me,
They were there to wish me goodbye.
As I stood in a line with my comrades,
I felt such a feeling of pride,
And I forgot all the grief and the hatred inside,
As we sang for the very last time.
Gather round, gather round,
Everybody gather round.
Come and join our last assembly,
Let us smile, wipe away all the frowns.
Gather round, gather round,
Everybody gather round.
As we stood at the last assembly,
All my friends came to wish me goodbye.
Gather round, gather round,
Gather round, gather round,
Everybody gather round.
As I stand at the last assembly,
I just cant keep the tears from my eyes.

I Want A Lover
At this time of night, when the crowds have passed
Were the last to leave, we need some company
No need to look so shy, dont even wonder why
You know the reason that we need this company
Ive been sitting here, looking out for you
Someone just like me, whos maybe had a drink or two
I dont want another drink or fight
I want a lover
I dont care whether its wrong or right
I want a lover tonight
Tonight
Outside the dawn is breaking, looks like its started raining
Well catch a cab, and soon be driving home
No need to look so shy, dont even wonder why
Youll know the reason just as soon as we get home
Youve been sitting there, wondering what to do
Ive been standing here, waiting to make the first move
Ahaha
I dont want another drink or fight
I want a lover
I dont care whether its wrong or right
I want a lover tonight (tonight)
I dont want another drink or fight
I want a lover
I dont care whether its wrong or right
I want a lover tonight
Tonight
This anticipation is a stimulation
No need for conversation as were driving home
Put your arms around me, it doesnt mean you love me
Just that you want me and you need my company
Driving through the night, its so exciting
Turning off the light without another thought tonight
Ahaha
I dont want another drink or fight
I want a lover
I dont care whether its wrong or right
I want a lover tonight (I want a lover tonight)
I dont want another drink or fight
I want a lover
I dont care whether its wrong or right
I want a lover tonight
Tonight
(I want you, I want your love) - I want a lover
(I want you, I want your love) - I want a lover
(I want you, I want your love) - I want a lover (I want your love tonight)

Drink Drink Sire
Drink drink sire
None other times
Insistent more
No other shadow
But thyself
Moon and stars
Drink drink sire
Thy creed to followers
Lonely hearts
Under the moon
And in the flowers
Drink drink sire
What times other
What seasons other
Spring and stars
And the moon
And song of love
Drink drink sire
To the last drop
Un satiated
More and more
From moon now
To stars now
To milky way
Drink drink sire
To the passion of drink
To meet again in the journey

The Metaphorical Christian Life
Shivering in the cold,
walking briskly,
holding the cup of hot chocolate with both hands.
A thought came to me,
a metaphor it's called,
but it seemed to be true.
The metaphor,
to be explained clearly,
is this...
The cold is life,
our troubles,
our problems.
God it the cup of hot chocolate,
warming us, both
inside and out.
When we pass someone in need,
we give them a drink,
filling their cup.
Then God,
being the loving, caring God he really is,
refills our own.
It may sound cheesy,
but if you really think,
that's how the ideal Christian should act.
So why don't we?
How come we take the whole cup for ourselves?
Love is not love unless shared.
Giving the needy a drink,
doesn't need to be literal.
All it could be is a smile...

Harvest For The World
Gather everyman, gather everywoman
Celebrate your lives, give thanks for your children
When will there be a harvest for all the people
When will there be a harvest for all the world
Harvest For The World
All babies together, everyone a seed
Half of us are satisfied, half of us in need
Love's bountiful in us, tarnished by our greed
When will there be a harvest for the world
A nation planted, so concerned with gain
As the seasons come and go, greater grows the pain
And far too many feelin' the strain
When will there be a harvest for the world
Gather everyman, gather everywoman
Celebrate your lives, give thanks for your children
Gather everyone, gather all together
Overlooking none, hopin' life gets better for the world
Dress me up for battle, when all I want is peace
Those of us who pay the price, come home with the least
Nation after nation, turning into beast
When will there be a harvest for the world

The Ship Of Hearts
what is the ship of hearts you ask me!
it is a ship where the hearts roam free.
where all the hearts gather to tell what's the matter.
to speak of loves lost and loves found
and of loves on the rebound.
they will have their conferences of each heart
and how it got its start.
each will speak of what they've gone through
and how to stop it from happening to you.
each heart will have a tale, and how it did fail.
every heart had suffered pain
and the experiences that they had gained.
they will talk of how they gave their heart
and it was torn apart.
so now they gather on this ship
and try to save the hearts thats ripped.
ripped and torn and thrown to the side
and how 'out of this hole, they did climb'.
for no matter what they go through
there will always be someone to
fall in love with you.
so these hearts gather their strength
and learn to fight till the very end.
and on this ship, they now gather as one
and with all this power combined
these tattered heart will all be fine.

Drink it all down
Drink your poison
Sip it all down
Beat your wife
Molest your child
Rape the woman next door
So drink your poison
Drink it all down
Smash the bottle
Against the bedroom wall
Smack the whore in your bed
Kill her then feel guilty
The very next day
When you wake up
And see the blood
So drink the poison
That brings doubt and insanity
To the mind
Thats right
Drink your poison
Drink it all down
