The elusive nature of love... it can be such a fleeting thing. You see it there and it's just fluttering and it's gone.

My Elusive Dreams
by Curly Putman and Billy Sherrill
(added 10/25/97, thanks to Pauline Buchanan)
You followed me to Texas, you followed me to Utah,
We didn't find it there so we moved on.
Then you went with me to A-la-bam',
Things looked good in Birmingham,
We didn't find it there so we moved on.
I know you're tired of fol-low-ing
My elusive dreams and schemes
For they're only fleeting things,
My elusive dreams.
You had my child in Memphis then I heard of work in Nashville,
But we didn't find it there so we moved on.
To a small farm in Nebraska, to a gold mine in Alaska,
We didn't find it there so we moved on.
I know you're tired of fol-low-ing
My elusive dreams and schemes
For they're only fleeting things,
My elusive dreams.
Now we've left A-las-ka because thewas no gold mine,
But this time only two of us moved on.
And now all we have is each other and a little memory
To cling to and still you won't let me go on alone.
I know you're tired of following
My elusive dreams and schemes
For they're only fleeting things,
My elusive dreams.

Elusive Butterfly
Breeze blowing across my face
even the wind leaves a trace
gazing at wavering trees
petals floating in the breeze
For a brief moment in time
I thought maybe you'd be mine
but they were only dreams
and dreams are never what they seem
Love the elusive butterfly
always seems to pass me by
love the elusive butterfly
fly, fly fly, my elusive butterfly
Raindrops falling at my feet
why does love taste bittersweet?
butterfly's dancing in the trees
and then float off in the breeze
Love the elusive butterfly
always seems to pass me by
love the elusive butterfly
fly, fly fly, my elusive butterfly

Elusive Butterfly
You might wake up some morning
To the sound of something moving past your window in the wind
And if youre quick enough to rise
Youll catch the fleeting glimpse of someones fading shadow
Out on the new horizon
You may see the floating motion of a distant pair of wings
And if the sleep has left your ears
You might hear footsteps running through an open meadow
Dont be concerned, it will not harm you
Its only me pursuing something Im not sure of
Across my dreams, with nets of wonder
I chase the bright elusive butterfly of love
You might have heard my footsteps
Echo softly in the distance through the canyons of your mind
I might have even called your name
As I ran searching after something to believe in
You might have seen me runnin
Through the long abandonned ruins of the dreams you left behind
If you remember something there
That glided past you followed close by heavy breathing
Dont be concerned, it will not harm you
Its only me pursuing something Im not sure of
Across my dreams, with nets of wonder
I chase the bright elusive butterfly of love
Across my dreams, with nets of wonder
I chase the bright elusive butterfly of love
Across my dreams, with nets of wonder
I chase the bright elusive butterfly of love

The Poet To His Love
ALL the flight of thoughts here, shy, bold, scared, intrusive,
Fluttering in the sun, between the green and blue,
Wheeling, whirling, poising, lovely and elusive,
How to cage the flying thoughts, my winged delight, for you?
Set a springe of rhyme, and hope to catch them in it?
Strew my love as grain to lure them to the snare?
Watch the hours built up, slow minute piled on minute?
Still the wide sky guards their flight, and still the cage is bare.
Gleam of hovering feathers, brushing me to flout me!
Wings, be weary! Rest! Who loves you more than I?
Caught? Oh fluttering pinions whitening air about me!
Rustling wings, and distant flight, and empty cage and sky!

Nervous
You wait and wait like a kid waiting to open a present.
Your stomach fills with butterflies waiting to flutter.
When will it happen?
For you are getting nervous and tired of the fluttering.
The fluttering seems to get louder and you start getting out of control.
Then all of a sudden the fluttering stops then starts again.
You realize you can't control it like you can't control the sun rising and going down each day.
So instead relax and go with the flow.
For the thing you are waiting for will come soon.

Elusiveness of Love
oh Divine love, Oh divine love,
why do thee seem elusive,
why do thee seem so difficult to be found,
people sought for Nirvana, Moksha, salavation and a handful of them attain it,
but oh dear love, thee seems elusive in thine eyes,
reflection of my younger days tells me of love and its great works,
wherein i read of love overwhelming over evrything,
as i read my Holy book 'The Bible', it tells me of the love which never failed,
love being kind,
love being gentle,
love being not self seeking,
love being not rebellious,
love being not rude,
and love standing all the test of time...
and believing love was created by God to triumph over hate, despise, envy, discontent, resentment, slanders,
conspires, rebellism, covetousness, trails, tribulations......
those great words drives me to the land of imaginations,
and i fancy myself of being a part of love and a guardian,
i' am old enough now,
and i love,
and i stand in that same phase,
which i fancied once as a child,
but the heroism of the fantasy land doesn't seem to work on me as of now,
as i stand, i shiver and shudder,
cause love don't love thee,
love don't embrace thee,
love afflicts thee,
love agonize thee,
love leads me to anguishness,
but i still try to stand,
though love don't love thee,
cos i believe one day love will triumph,
love and love will remain,
when everything perishes,
how great love is,
though seems elusive.
though seems elusive.

An Ode To Happiness
wherever you go
i must follow you Happiness
this I have noticed though
You have given me more of those
Frustrations
You are as elusive
as an Eel
like the fleeting feelings
of the Bell
Everyday is tolling
for its new Victim
Ahh, happiness i'll take the reverse
Now you must pursue Me
for I do not anymore
Care.

I Always Have Loved Mother Nature
I always have loved Mother Nature ever since I was a boy
And a thing of Natural beauty is always a thing of joy
And the mysteries of Nature is a mysterious thing
There is far more to any bird than the song it does sing
I always have loved Nature though my wonderment of her grow
And the more I learn about her the less about her I know I know
From humankind Mother Nature her secrets she hides away
And from our walks in Nature we learn every day
The only true immortal of which we will ever know
Us people like her Seasons to life we come and from life we go
I always have loved Nature and in that I'm not alone
Her secrets hidden in every bush and tree and hedge and under every stone
Her mighty rivers from her hills to her great oceans flow
And she has been around long before plants on her first did grow
In her bosom with all other life forms I will also lay
And I will love Nature till my last living day.

Nature the Guardian of Earth's Beauty
Nature Nature Nature
The thing that has made every creature.
It’s in the sun in the sky
And not to forget the birds that fly.
Nature is the guardian of Earth’s beauty
& protecting it is our duty.
Nature is the eternal power in the universe
But pollution today is a human curse.
Without nature Earth would be Black & White
How many of us would love such a sight ?
We must get everything going right
It’s a matter that should not be taken light.

Love
For only in silence
Can one come to understanding
For in the fewest words
Comes forth the
Greater voice
And Wisdom is everywhere
Just breath it in
Let it penetrate every
Cell of your body
Love is elusive
Fleeting, seldom enduring;
Buttercup butterflies
Bouncing in an autumn wind,
Here, then gone again
Combine wisdom with understanding
And love, and you
Will come to a crossroad,
A passing of a point
Then you leave
You pass that point;
And what was a brilliance of light
For a moment, flashes and
Disappears into eternity

Tortured Nature
Nature must be love
It is made by god above
Nature is in place
Nature is always with grace
The nature is green
It is colorful when seen
Nature is serene
It is peaceful ever seen
But people is bad
They make mother nature mad
When nature gets mad
It feels like the wrath of god
Disaster of nature
Is enough of your torture
Nature is flower
It gives love like a lover

Elusive
Elusive is his middle name...
He is so hard to catch.
In fact, this is his claim to fame,
That few big cats can match.
You may find one, or maybe two,
Or three, or four or more,
If you can search the whole day through
And you can bear the chore...
Yet this is when the magic starts,
But then it takes control
And burns a memory in men's hearts,
Each spirit and each soul...
Find your spot, then keep safe distance...
To see him in his prime,
As if he were a noble prince,
With whom to share your time.
Beyond the beauty Nature gives,
Add speed and strength and style.
Once you have seen the way he lives,
Add to these, grace and guile.
Behold his features, how he moves,
The way he interacts,
His hunting skills, as he improves,
According to the facts.
Consider quickly, while you can,
For soon he will be gone...
He does not live as long as Man,
Whose legacy lives on...
Elusive creatures do their best,
Surviving day-by-day...
If what he does, leaves you impressed,
Leave him to live... OK?
The poem is based on the magnificent 'big cat' painting
by Stephen Gayford called 'Elusive'.

Butterfly
Elusive as a butterfly
In your voice I hear you sigh
The beat of it's wings
Your voice to me it sings
Elusive as a butterfly
I listern for your cry
A lady like laugh
It comes from your heart
Elusive as a butterfly
It's time for you to fly
This time it's my mornful sigh
And to my eye, a tear to cry.

The Real Thing
La la la
Love is the real thing
You know
Love is the real thing
La la la la
La love
La la la
Love is the real thing
You know
Love is the real thing
La la la la
She is waiting
In the office
For the bell to go
She is thinking
Of their meeting
Just a month ago
Now shes running
Through the people
Everyone so slow
Now he holds her
And he loves her
He tells her so and
La la la
Love is the real thing
You know
Love is the real thing
La la la la
La love
La la la
Love is the real thing
You know
Love is the real thing
La la la la
By the nightfall
They have driven
From the world they know
Shes so happy
Theyre together
And their love will grow
And when you feel your chance has come
Whos going to throw it all away
And if theres someone left behind
You have to say that
La la la
Love is the real thing
You know
Love is the real thing
La la la la
La love

Love is the real thing
You know
Love is the real thing

Nature & Its Beauty
beauty is nature in all it's glory,
preaching us a lot of story.
fall, winter, summer & spring,
the site of the nature is a beautiful thing.
as the sun sets my heart did rise,
the stars shined within the skies.
my soul glowed as the wind stirred,
my breath caught at a sound of a bear.
little animals moving through in night,
climbing, slithering, roaring in flight.
darkness en wrapped me with a comforting touch,
oh i love this nature so much.
filled with happiness & desperate love,
nature has adorn this beautiful earth.
helping us as a gift of god,
nature provided us love of all sort.
for all it's goodness we have altered it by & by,
so much so that the nature would cry.
it's time for us to pay nature's dew,
not for me & not for you.
just do your bit to regain the beauty of nature,
so let us save this huge creature...!

On To A Certain Fullness....
When the cup is full
when everything runs
over its edges,
there is no stopping
it is the nature of this
thing
it runs it fills
it overflows
it rises
too
it goes beyond its
limits
it transcends
the horizon the sky
space
this is the nature of
this thing
it does not die
it goes on and on and on
beyond pain beyond
happiness
beyond the laws of this land
not a tree anymore
neither land
nor air
this is the nature of this thing
like a piano note
of one classical piece
riding on
from one molecule of air
to another
all eyes are misled
and this thing does not feel
it goes on and on and on
and on and on....

Portrait
As I gaze blink-less
At the bare beauty of your persona
Behind the thin satin coat
Your portrait steps out alive
Out of the golden frame.
Your portrait generates
A multitude of elemental emotions,
Some romantically elusive like fluttering butterflies,
Others tangible like love-making,
Yet some others audible like the dying cadence
Of a stringed music played on my lyre.
Am churned by the immaculate portrait
Like the ocean
And I deliver nectar and parijat
From the dark womb of my private secrecy.
I owe it to your portrait timeless,
As I take the yet-to-be christened
Eleventh incarnation of Indian pantheon
Embodying love and truth
With an assured confidence.
Come To Me
This is not the way I wanted things to be
I hope someday youll understand
My heart beats stronger when I know Im close to you
Its helped me to be a better man
Why must all of the love come falling
Why dont we just take our chance
I could walk this road again with you my love...oh, oh
Why cant you come to me
Dont save your love for some elusive dream
Why cant you find your way
I will fall for you no matter where it leads
This is not the way we started, you and i
How was it that I lost my way
Two souls can drift apart without a word
Were those the words I did not say
Why must all of the dreams come falling
Why dont we just take this chance
I could walk this road again with you my love, oh, oh
Why cant you come to me
Dont save your love for some elusive dream
Why cant you find your way
I will fall for you no matter where it leads
I could walk this road again with you my love
Why cant you come to me
Dont save your love for some elusive dream
Why cant you find your way
I will fall for you no matter where it leads
