Love And Friendship

Love and friendship
are the most precious gifts
than anyone can have
we must treasure them
less they slip through are fingers
like grains of sand.

A Grain Of Sand

Life is like a grain of sand;
it can slip through your fingers
at any time and be lost forever.
We must enjoy every minute
while we have it
in case that too
slips through our fingers.
Love is a fleeting thing
that passes all too quickly through our lives
unless we grasp it tightly
never letting it go.
Our lives are like a grain of sand
and will slip through our fingers
before we get to enjoy it thoroughly.

We Didn't Say

Years slip through our fingers
like the grains of sand.
We make friends
that mature in our lives
and then one-day
heaven takes them away
leaving us with only memories
and words we didn't say.

Love Is Like Sand

I said it too,
Love is like sand,
It slips down through fingers,
But some grains stick with the palm,
And when it is bushed,
These grains pass through eyes
While journeying to the soul,
They often weep and wail
Lying in its secret channels,
But troubling a lot.

GRAINS of SAND

Grains of sand
on which I stand
burn my feet
from the sun's intense heat.
I bury them quickly
to keep them cool.
The grains of sand
can be too cruel.
And now I know
I played the fool
for I left my sandals
where it was cool.
Afraid to move,
I see a child.
I call to him
as if I'm wild.
'My shoes, my shoes
please bring them here.'
He looks and waves,
then disappears.
And so I stay
and face the day
stuck in grains of sand.

Hourglass Sand

Through the hourglass
watching
grains of sand falling.
I see time slipping by.

To myself I wonder.
Do we pass with such ease
through the hourglass of life?
Like tiny grains of sand cascading?

When that sand has gone.
Does that mean time has stopped
until I turn the glass over?
And the sand again begins to fall.

Through our hourglass
as we pass like grains of sand.
How many frowns can we turn to smiles?
How much good can we make from bad?

When our sand has run out.
Has our time stopped as well?
Who will turn over our hourglass?
Restart our time renew our opportunities?

I Love You More

I love you I love you I love you
I love you I love you I love you
I love you I love you I love you
I love you I love you I love you
I love you more than there are ocean grains of sand
I love you more than there are voices in the wind
I love you so I cant let go
I love you so I want the whole wide world to know
Its not unusual to feel this way
Sometimes I feel a bit insane
I will confess I deserve nothing less than
What youve given me so far
I feel a high when I am by your side
My lifes so bright like summer skies
I dreamed so long to have someone like you
And now youre here with me
And it feels so good
1 I love you more than there are ocean grains of sand
It must be love if I feel this way
I love you more than there are voices in the wind
Only love makes me do these things
I love you so I cant let go
Now that I have you
I love you so I want the whole wide world to know
I always thought you were my soulmate
And extension of my heart
The angels say its a spiritual thing
We will never be apart
Thats why Im high when I am by your side
My lifes so bright like summer skies
I dreamed so long to have someone like you babe
And now youre here with me
And it feels so good ooh
Repeat 1
I love you more than all the ocean grains of sand
I love you more than all the voices in the wind
I love you so yeah
Never let you go
I love you so I want the world to know
I love you more than all the ocean grains of sand
I love you more than all the voices in the wind
I love you so
Never let you go
I love you so I want the world to know
I love you more than all the ocean grains of sand
I love you more than all the voices I hear in the wind
I love you so
Never letting go
I love you so I want the world to know
Ooh boy I love you so
24/7 it wont get old
Ooh boy I love you so
24/7 it wont get old
Ooh boy I love you so
24/7 it wont get old
Ooh boy I love you so
24/7 it wont get old

Grains of Sand

Rolling in receding back
I watch the ocean’s waves.
Wondering what do they bring
or take away.

Reaching to my feet
some sand I scoop.
Through my fingers
those tiny grains flow.

Some so smooth
as if their journey long.
Others jagged sharp.
Had they not traveled far?

I muse to myself
What tales could they tell?
Relating their travels
carried by the seas.

if any what secrets
might they hide?
Tragedies triumphs
fair seas and foul.

Had they witnessed
great things and small?
As my mind wandered
imagination followed.

Again the waves roll in.
Now the sand is gone.
That sand I held
taken away.

Where will the seas
carry those grains?
On what other shores
will they a visit pay?

My Glistening Dreams of Glass

My glistening glass dreams slip from my hands,
I see them fall in slow motion, heading toward their impending destruction.
They crumple as they meet the harsh, immovable reality that is a brilliant marble floor.
Dissolving in an array of colours and beautiful sounds, they look so much but amount to so little.
They shatter forever in my mind, with no one to pick up the pieces.

The hourglass shines as the grains of sand rush through the smallest gap,
Bursting through into a new realm of life.
But when each grain passes the gap, it does not for me mean some newfound freedom,
It just draws me one step closer to the final verse of my own tragic ballad.
But the sand keeps falling, when will it stop falling?

And as my glistening dreams of glass,
Slip again from weary fingers,
The songs begin to fade,
The colours turn to gray.
As the universe carries on, unaffected by my presence...

Moments (Love Poem)

Priceless,
A moment with you,
In my life, my everything.
I am saving every memory,
Soon, I will be a millionaire,
With a treasure trove of,
Unforgettable moments
Like grains of sand,
Golden for-
Ever.
For
Us.

Friendship

Friendship

Friendship is love,
Without friendship love means nothing!
Without friendship love is empty…
Without friendship love is boring...!

Friendship means sharing…
People learn to share from friendship,
Share everything they have in life,

Friendship is like stars,
Even though we always see them together
Always mean to each other…
But,
Sometimes they argue!

Friendship is like flower,
Soft but strong!
Friendship is like sun,
Bright and beautiful!

Friendship is everything in life,
Life without friendship is like life without air…
Life without friendship is like eats without food
And
Life without friendship is like body without soul…

Friendship is wide!
Anybody can be our friend,
Our parents, our grandparents, our sister, our brother and even our school principal!

Friendship….
Is everything!

I think a responsibility comes with notoriety, but I never think of it as power. It's more like something you hold, like grains of sand. If you keep your hand closed, you can have it and possess it, but if you open your fingers in any way, you can lose it just as quickly.

House Of Sand

(words & music by grant - baum - kaye)
Oh you can take a whole lot of sand
And build a castle on the beach
And though you mold it and you plan
Still you got nothing in your reach
One little slip and it tumbles down
One wrong step and it crumbles all around
Like a house without love, thats sure to fall apart
A house of sand is an empty work of art
You can build a tower of clay
But if you ask my advice
Well it is worthless as I say
I got no heart its cold as ice
One little slip and it tumbles down
One wrong step and it crumbles all around
Like a house without love, thats sure to fall apart
A house of sand is an empty work of art
One little slip and it tumbles down
One wrong step and it crumbles all around
Like a house without love, thats sure to fall apart
A house of sand is an empty work of art
A house of sand is an empty work of art
A house of sand is an empty work of art

They Never Come Again

Life doesn’t give second chances,
but rare occasions
it sometimes does.
When this happens,
you have to grasp it
for all it is worth.
Don’t let it slip by,
as you may never get another try.

If love comes
a second time around,
don’t let it slip
through your fingers,
but take it to higher ground.
Second chances in this world
are to be taken
and not let slip away.
For it is quite possible
they may never come again.

Last Split Second

Sometimes in the heat of despair
we lost sight of perspective
It bends and curves and distorts
Like light round a black hole
and what we think of as truth is wildy out of proportion
yes the grains of truth are there running through the narrow waist of our preception
but each individual speck is not the beach, the beach is more than grains of sand

is this your last split second? will you spend it looking at a grain of sand or at the beach?

A Rolling Stone

Ive been (? ) my life just a rolling stone,
When I needed your love, baby, youre always gone.
In my life I know that something is missing,
Grains of sand is really all youve been giving.
I need more loving baby, I need more (? kissing? ),
Now I want (? ) that you got.
They say a rolling stone never gathers no moss,
One day we will slow down and find that love is lost.
In my life I know that something is missing,
Grains of sand is really all youve been giving.
I need more loving baby, I need more (? kissing? ),
Now I want (? ) that you got,
Now I want (? ) that you got.

Now I want (? ) that you got.
In my life I know that something is missing,
Baby, grains of sand is really all youve been giving.

Samuel Johnson

From Boethius: De Consolatione Philosophiae; Book II. Metre 2.

Though countless as the grains of sand
That roll at Eurus' loud command;
Though countless as the lamps of night
That glad us with vicarious light;
Fair plenty, gracious queen, should pour
The blessings of a golden shower,
Not all the gifts of fate combin'd
Would ease the hunger of the mind,
But swallowing call the mighty store,
Rapacity would call for more;
For still where wishes most abound
Unquench'd the thirst of gain is found;
In vain the shining gifts are sent,
For none are rich without content.

Patience, Patience

the child with a black coat
on this cold day
sits there beside a brick
church of spanish
architecture

the yard is quiet except
for the sound of the flapping
of doves feedind on some
rice grains

the boy has a black hair
and his feet are stained with
mud his fingers dirty with
some sticky sauce

he spreads the rice grains
from his palm to the
muddy grounds

the doves hover and land
on the spot where the grains
are freely spread

he sits with them
surrounded

the doves are watching him
and he watches carefully each
dove that eyes on his grains

he likes to snatch just one
to bring home to mother

the doves are too careful
it is just the rice grains nothing more

eye to eye
both wait for what shall happen next

The Connection

There exists an ethereal connection
Between you and I and in actuality,
There has always been,
Although perhaps it was not openly visible and before
There was any awareness-
Day after day you and I would
Walk past one another, and
I always thought of you s being a gentle soul,
Never invasive, never threatening-
I may have been as gentle, though more
Fearful and elusive,
As sand would slip between my fingers-
Out worlds so similar, never clashing, but
Then I could not foresee-
We both hid within the places of our madness,
Locking doors and hiding for safety-
I would pass by your door where you were none but a
Prisoner inside your delusional world, and
I could hear your tears screaming,
Sometimes late at night or in the
Very early morning-
You may have passed by my door as well, although
My tears were silent as
A dove would whisper- but somehow my pain
Was never hidden as if you had always known
That dove had a broken wing-
It was the two of us- eighteen years ago and today,
It is you and I in the present -
But sometimes desperate moments would blind our fate and
Sand no longer falls between my fingers but held firmly as from which
I build a castle in which
I can now live comfortably-
Your hand holds mine, often figuratively and the bond between us is constant-
I finally opened the door at first none but a crack, and
I let you inside, opening my heart and between my arms,
To a warm embrace-
At this moment in flesh you are a few miles away, although
I feel the closeness intensifying within each given moment and an
Upsurge of joy of having a friendship and knowing that
It shall last for ever- I feel your hand in mine and
Your arm, about my waist, and that feeling is constant as a
Moonlit night, not garish as the light exuded by the sun-
The caress of your mesmerizing and beautiful spirit is always nearby,
Behind me and before me- and on that and blustery winter’s day-
It is and was you and I together…
Eighteen years have past and it is still you and I together walking
Amidst wild violets blossoming on a warm summer’s day-
It is you and I sharing hope and love as well as
Each others' pain-
Our tears would mingle and inter mesh, then vanish within
A late spring’s zephyr-
You and I had shared misfortune and despair as we
Would lose ourselves to other worlds.
We have collected our fallen foundations, taken them and
Rebuilt our lives into promising futures-
I can hear music emanating from the sky as
I watch the sun dancing where the horizon begins and ends-
These are indeed God’s gifts, as is
The unique gift of our friendship-
I look up towards the sky and thank God for this
Irreplaceable gift-
That gift of you and I
Walking along that pathway of trust and a promising future of healing-
That bond of friendship between us-
You and I, together-
For always-

Water is Gold

Water is precious gold
A treasure to the land
And the throne on which
People sit upon the sand

Mosaics of velvet grass
Pinks, oranges, purples blend
Scent of salt and floral
Perfumes among the men

Waves of blue hair
Sway in mother's breath
And bend to her tears
Until there is nothing left

But hope comes anew
When the sun returns
And heats up the soul
Until the passion tide burns

Passion and heat, yet not the only treasure
As the water is still liquid gold
But when the day has ended
That treasure has lost its hold.
