Ghost Town
The old town stood abandoned
left to those unseen to roam.
The inhabitants left behind
when the residence moved away.
The tumbleweeds dance through the streets
once alive with people.
Shudders sway back and forth
pushed by unseen hands.
Flowers grow where seeds have fallen,
dropped by birds and wind.
Spiders draw exotic webs
covering corners everywhere.
Doors left unlocked creak
under any breeze passing through.
Wild animals forage
watched by the unseen inhabitants
that live within in the town.
This silent town of ghosts.

Now Paris
Is washing its eyes
With August rain
Paris is now
A woman
A Babylonian bride
Her wedding
Is set on Christmas
I hear youyous in Paris
And emigrants cheering

To settle and colonized this town

A barbarian one

Scarlet coats, and crash o' the band,
The grey of a pauper's gown,
A soldier's grave in Zululand,
And a woman in Brecon Town.
My little lad for a soldier boy,
(Mothers o' Brecon Town!)
My eyes for tears and his for joy
When he went from Brecon Town,
His for the flags and the gallant sights
His for the medals and his for the fights,
And mine for the dreary, rainy nights
At home in Brecon Town.
They say he's laid beneath a tree,

Shouldn't I know? -- I was there to see:

The day was here when it was his to know
How fared the barriers he had built between
His triumph and his enemies unseen,
For them to undermine and overthrow;
And it was his no longer to forego
The sight of them, insidious and serene,
Where they were delving always and had been
Left always to be vicious and to grow.
And there were the new tenants who had come,
By doors that were left open unawares,
Into his house, and were so much at home
There now that he would hardly have to guess,
