Empty Space In Our Lives
A Tribute to Elisabeth Sladen 1948-2011
Better known to millions as Sarah Jane Smith from the Doctor Who TV series.
We watch stars rise and then pass away,
people with quality and a twinkle in their eyes,
then suddenly they are gone
leaving an empty space in our lives.
We might never have known them
in a personal sense,
only by their performances
as they moved across the screen.
However, we felt at times
they were our friend,
we listened to the words they spoke,
the cheerfulness in their tone
and their beauty never diminished
during the passing of time.
Then suddenly they are gone
leaving only their image forever
captured in moments on film.
Goodbye Elisabeth.
May you rest in peace.

Ode To Sarah Jane Smith (Doctor Who)
(This poem was inspired by the TV character, Sarah Jane Smith, played by the late Elisabeth Sladen.)
The world famous journalist, Sarah Jane Smith,
Knew that alien existence wasn’t just a myth.
She knew that the universe was utterly amazing,
But she had little time to stand around star gazing.
Helped by her three young teenage friends,
She would always win her battles in the end.
To her teenage sidekicks, she was just like a mother.
Like Sarah Jane Smith, there was definitely no other.
Her attic room was the hub of her investigations,
In her constant bid to save an unsuspecting nation.
‘Mr Smith, I need you! ’ was an exclamation which we often heard.
Her computer would appear accompanied by steam and whizzes and whirs.
Both data and objects Mr Smith would strategically analyze.
His findings would often open up Sarah Jane’s eager eyes.
Suddenly she realised the situation with which she was now faced,
And off to solve the problem, she and her friends would quickly race.
With her, she always carried a trusty gadget - her sonic lipstick.
This came in extremely handy and, with it, many a lock she did pick.
With Sarah Jane by your side, you would never come to any harm.
She would always stand her ground and keep herself very calm.
She could always detect when something wasn’t quite right,
And in her heart, she knew she was in for yet another fight.
She knew what to look for – the various tell tale signs,
And she saved our world from harm numerous times.
Even when she was captured and bound tightly with tape,
Due to her resourcefulness, she’d always manage to escape.
On many occasions, she was on the receiving end of a gun,
But she would always sweet talk her way out and then run!
Her responsibility to the human race, she did not shirk.
To her, saving the world was all just in a day’s work.
Even when she was full of fear, she wouldn’t run away.
She’d bravely battle on and live to fight another day.
She and her friends had a totally amazing time together.
She had a quick thinking mind and was extremely clever.
Sarah Jane Smith was special and truly one of a kind.
A more warm and gentle person, you will never find.
Hers was such an amazing and blessed life to lead
Her adventures were so exciting to watch and read.
Sarah Jane Smith was a worthy heroine of our time,
So I wanted to remember her forever in this rhyme.

Visions Of Angels
Standing in a forest gazing at the sun
Looking at the trees but theres not even one
See a rippling stream that smiles and then goes by
Run to feel its comfort but the waters dry.
I see her face and run to take her hand
Whey shes never there I dont understand
The trumpets sound my whole world crumbles down
Visions of angels all around
Dance in the sky
Leaving me here
Forever goodbye.
As the leaves will crumble so will fall my love
For the fragile beauty of our lives must fade
Though I once remember echoes of my youth
Now I sense no past, no love that ends in love
Take this dream the stars have filled with light
As the blossom glides like snowflakes from the trees
In vengeance to a God no-one can reach.
Visions of angels all around
Dance in the sky
Leaving me here
Forever goodbye.
Ice is moving and worlds begun to freeze
See the sunlight stopped and deadened by the breeze
Minds are empty bodies move insensitive
Some believe that when they die they really live
I believe there never is an end
God gave up this world its people long ago
Why shes never there I still dont understand
Visions of angels all around
Dance in the sky
Leaving me here
Forever goodbye.
Visions of angels all around
Dance in the sky
Leaving me here
Forever goodbye.

Goodbye Again
(john denver)
Its five oclock this morning and the sun is on the rise
Theres frosting on the window pane and sorrow in your eyes
The stars are fading quietly, the night is nearly gone
You slowly turn away from me and tears begin to come
And its
Goodbye again, Im sorry to be leaving you
Goodbye again, cause if you didnt know
Its goodbye again, and I wish you could tell me
Why do we always fight when I have to go?
It seems a shame to leave you now, the days are soft and warm
I long to lay me down again and hold you in my arms
I long to kiss the tears away and give you back your smile
But other voices beckon me and for a little while
Its
Goodbye again, Im sorry to be leaving you
Goodbye again, cause if you didnt know
Its goodbye again, and I wish you could tell me
Why do we always fight when I have to go?
I have to go and see some friends of mine, and some that I dont know
And some who arent familiar with my name
Its something thats inside of me, not hard to understand
Its anyone who will listen to me sing
But if your arms are empty now, then who am I to blame
You think if I was always here our love would be the same
But as it is, the time we have is worth the time alone
And lying by your side, the greatest peace Ive ever known
But its
Goodbye again, Im sorry to be leaving you
Goodbye again, cause if you didnt know
Its goodbye again, and I wish you could tell me
Why do we always fight when I have to go?

Leavings Not Leaving
Title from anywhere but here
Starring susan sarandon
Sometimes a time comes along
When its time to, time to move on
Youll still be there in everything that I do
And wherever I go
Ill remember you
Leavings not leaving
cause Im not, leaving you behind
Youll always be with me, always be with me
Part of my heart for all time
Where Im going , youre going
Even if its just in my mind
Leavings not leaving
Im not leaving you behind
Moments shared there with you
Theyre the best times that I ever knew
Theyll still be there when godbyes are all though
Ill remember those days
Ill remember you
Leavings not leaving
cause Im not, leaving you behind
Youll always be with me, always be with me
Part of my heart for all time
Where Im going , youre going
Even if its just in my mind
Leavings not leaving
Im not leaving you behind
Ill hold on the memories
cause in my heart youll be here with me
Theres no reason to cry
Goddbye isnt really goodbye
Leavings not leaving
cause Im not, leaving you behind
Youll always be with me, always be with me
Part of my heart for all time
Where Im going , youre going
Even if its just in my mind
Leavings not leaving
Im not leaving you behind
Leavings not leaving
Not leaving you behind
Im not leaving you
Im not leaving you behind
Leavings not leaving
Im not leaving you
Im not leaving you behind

For Bagsy
A tribute to John Baker a friend
With heavy, heart I sit
memories of times in the past,
pass through my mind.
Never to meet you again,
sadness echoes in the silence,
life gone, laughter denied.
Therefore, I let you rest,
no more suffering.
I say a last few words to end;
you were a friend,
now to be sadly missed.
Gone are you, but not forgotten.
Goodbye and God bless.

I Apologise
I'm sorry for the times you've cried,
and the loneliness you felt inside,
i'm sorry for the way things were,
and the selfishness that you endured,
i'm sorry for the nights we lost,
and the deep pain it must have cost,
i'm sorry for the love you missed,
loosing you helped me realize this,
I'm sorry i wasn't there to show,
the deepest love you'll ever know,
i'm sorry for the empty days,
and the stresses that you still yet pay,
i'm sorry for the way i left,
i've never felt so much regret,
i'm sorry for the heart i broke,
that shattered with the words i spoke,
i'm sorry for the empty space,
that lay beside you in my place,
i'm sorry for the empty arms,
you fell into when times were hard,
i'm sorry for the days that passed,
our love now will surely last,
i'm sorry it took so long to vow,
to love you forever here and now!
This was written for me by my ex boyfriend!

Waving to moments passing by
Moments happy moments
people think about them
people write about them
people talk about them
people hope about them
I see moments
lots of moments
but I wave to my moments
as they pass me by...
My life is a ship
on an Ocean deep
passing by is the ship 'Could've been'
it holds all my moments in its keep
I stand on my lifes deck
waving to moments till they're just a speck
Moments happy moments
people live them
people grab them
people make them
people savour them
but I wave to my moments
as they pass me by...
Goodbye 'Could've been'
Goodbye moments...

Forever Sleep
You drifted into that forever sleep
away from the harshness of this world.
You now abide where angels sing
in the comfort of our lord.
Friends you left behind miss you
and will only be reunited with you
when their time comes along.
You earned a rest
beyond the sunset of your days.
Those you left behind smile
as they recall the humour in you.
A trait that will be passed down
as long as there are ears to listen.
Rest now my friend you earned it,
let the blanket of love from our lord
surround you always in his kingdom
in your forever sleep.

Viewpoint
some people said I was crazy
And some people said I was lazy
And some people said I was on course
For a fully fledged 'divorce'
Until I said 'listen, I'm not married'
Some people said I was always carried
By other people with as much emotional baggage
Some people said I looked like a cabbage
And some people said I was as BIG AS A HOUSE
Some people said I was as quiet as a mouse
And some people said I should get a life
some people said I was a pain in the neck
And some people said they felt the pain
And some people who salvaged the wreck
Abandoned the deck
Broadcasting the ship would sink
And some people of the same clan
Disconnected their phone
Leaving me to ponder on my own
About all that they had said
And all their words fell silent
And suddenly dead.....
After so much defintion
I chose life instead

Suddenly
Orbison/melson
Suddenly, my heart stood still
Suddenly, the sight of you gave me a thrill
Suddenly
Suddenly, i see you everywhere
Suddenly, all at once i seem to care for you
Suddenly
So suddenly i found you
To think you were near all the time
I've often been around you
I don't know how i could have been so blind
Suddenly, my world is new
Suddenly, suddenly there's only you
Suddenly
So suddenly i found you
To think you were near all the time
I've often been around you
I don't know how i could have been so blind
Suddenly, suddenly you're my dream come true
Suddenly, suddenly there's only you
So suddenly

Suddenly
Suddenly, I have eyes that now may see;
That which I never fathomed before, now may be;
Suddenly, I have ears that now may hear,
Which call me toward you, without any form of fear;
Suddenly, I have a heart, no longer coffered-
That longs for the love, you long ago offered.
Suddenly, I have a soul that needs for its mate,
Which embraces the exaltation she does create.
Suddenly, my mind is unafeared, and in accord;
Any further resisitance is something I cannot afford;
Suddenly, mere sight of your visage takes my breath away-
Thought of a life lived with your grace keeps death away!
Suddenly, I am a humble appreciant, and in awe
Of the love I feel in my heart, which has not, a flaw!

Precious Moments
Looking across the timeless ebbies
that stretches as far as our lives have travelled
searching for precious moments
that were left behind
and now lie hidden in our memories.
Those times when life propelled itself
in spurts of our endeavours,
but always left some precious moments
behind out of our lives.
Like Icarus, we flew too high
for our own self-importance
leaving behind a yearning
for something we had,
but foolishly left so far behind.
Now to relive them
we search the four corners
and hidden crevices of our memory
where broken loves fell.
We want again to dream
of those days of our splendour
and our mistakes in love
that has left a forever yearning
for the things we will never have.
The precious moments that lay scattered
somewhere in the hidden corners
of our distant memories
near the seas of tranquillity.

As I Now Silently Cry
If tears could build a stairway
And memories were a lane
I'd walk right up to heaven
And bring you back again
No farewell words were spoken
No time to say goodbye
My friend you will be remembered
As I now silently cry...
You meant the world to me
and how much I loved you so
Why did this all happen and
why did you have to go?
May God rest your soul in peace
Is a prayer that comes from the heart
We will meet again some day
For good times and some laugh
Until then goodbye my friend
In slumber that you sleep
You will be forever missed
May your soul now rest in peace. Amen.

Goodnight Elisabeth
I was wasted in the afternoon
Waiting on a train
I woke up in pieces and Elisabeth had disappeared again
I wish you were inside of me
I hope that you're ok
I hope you're resting quietly
I just wanted to say
Goodnight Elisabeth
Goodnight Elisabeth
We couldn't all be cowboys
So some of us are clowns
Some of us are dancers on the midway
We roam from town to town
I hope that everybody can find a little flame

How Are You, My Friend?
It happens very often
When someone on another side of the Earth
Suddenly stops your crazy race
Asking such a simple question:
How are you my friend?
Instantly it becomes warmer
Hearing those kind words
And a series of depressing days
Breaks into the sunny rays.
A happy smile creeps up your face,
Everyone you would like to embrace.
You were almost on the edge of crying,
But a minute of warmth saved you,
The happy man they’ve made you.
You feel confidence in yourself,
You know that someone feels you,
You are not like a dusty book on the shelf,
You know that someone needs you.
Kind words create your emotions,
They show your dears devotion.
I am thankful for all those
Who can see my mental state.
I would like here to propose
Kind words in speech create
As they never irritate.
Say compliments! They make us happy,
They make us snappy.
Kind words our hearts soften.
So, say them often!
Do not delay but say:
How are you my friend?
I’ll be with you up to the end.

Thought-Provoking Questions
Across the TV screen they scrolled,
The questions to the show...
While just one answer could be told,
Still questions were in flow...
The compere and the guest still spoke,
With comments to explain...
Yet were the questions there a joke,
Eye-candy or eye-strain?
I tuned out what was being said,
To view the scrolling text...
Because I chose to read instead,
So not to be perplexed...
Those questions were both great and small,
Yet by them I felt blessed,
Then suddenly there was a call
To compere and to guest...
I thus ignored the text below
And listened once again...
Perhaps for something new to know,
Perhaps beyond my ken...
But, oh, what wisdom saints would share,
Life stories so profound...
And oh, such tender-hearted prayer,
To turn our lives around...
What was Good Friday all about?
And so the guest replied...
It was because God's Laws we flout
That Christ was crucified...
The guest was almost near to tears,
As he explained the cost...
To think, Christ overcame His fears
And died to save the lost...
Another caller praised the Lord,
She spoke of many things...
Then told us straight to rest assured,
Trust Christ, the King of Kings!
Forgiveness is the Father's Plan,
The Bible is the key...
And suddenly, my tears began...
I knew Christ died for me...

Howard Conder's Question And Answer show is
on Revelation TV. He said he would like to
see viewers' email questions scrolling across

discussing one question at a time.
He wondered if viewers would still find some
extra blessing if thought-provoking questions
were seen on screen.

Qualified As Ascertained
Time has a way of shifting around,
That which had seemed to be grounded.
And found to be significant with influence.
Once upon a time,
When a climbing above others...
Was a focus and priority on many minds.
To suddenly change direction,
With a spotlighting of that which had been dismissed.
To allow that to become,
Declared more precious than gold.
Leaving those to flaunt a uselessness held,
That seemed just moments ago...
Qualified as ascertained,
To have impeccable credentials...
That only a few chosen to be interviewed,
Had obtained.
To be made to feel there was an achievement,
Reached.
With a leaving of that which had been dismissed.
Now sought after as if their lives depended on it.

My Canadian Chronicles 10
I have always had a dream
of one day seeing
one of nature’s natural wonders
whose snowy fingers
reach out to touch the sky.
Yesterday on Tuesday the 9th June 2009,
I was taken to see them
and their magical awesome beauty
by my dear friend and her family.
At first sight, my mouth fell open
as their magic captured me.
I wanted to see them
even if it was from afar,
but can you imagine my excitement
of actually standing on one of them.
No words can describe the thrill I felt
just standing there looking down
at the world beneath my feet.
I was speechless to say the least.
Captured by the awesome beauty
from everywhere I looked.
My dream was now reality,
the wonder in the palm of my hand.
The moments I captured on film
no one will really understand.
We live in a world of treasures
and these mountains are one of them.
Their splendour and their beauty
will always remain with me.

FEEL AGAIN - Song Lyrics
Passing by my eyes
Are people living lives
They flow before my gaze
Just like the memories
In my mind
I watch them from
My hiding place
In shadows so
To hide my face
And as they pass
The memories flash
Of how it felt to feel that way
And home…
I long for home…
Where is my home…
Please take me home…
Home…
Please take me home…
Where is my home…
I long for home…
I watch the people
Not because
I wanna be their friend
I watch them not
Because I hope to know
Them in the end
I simply watch
And ask myself
Why do I feel this way
How did I get here
Can I hope
To feel again someday
To feel the feelings
That they feel…
To hope, to love, to cry
To fall and feel the pain
Or rise in triumph to the sky
And home…
I long for home…
Where is my home…
Please take me home…
Home…
Please take me home…
Where is my home…
I long for home…
All I have are memories
Of the times
When things were good
Memories of the days
Of when I felt
The way I should
Memories now that
Flow before the view
Inside my mind
Just as the passing people
Flow before my open eyes
Oh God! How can I be
Like them
Is there a way to
Start again
I know there is
I know its there
I’ll find it
I don’t ****ing care
What I have to go through
What I lose and what I lack
I know my heart
Can feel again
If I can only
Find my way back
Home…
I’m going home…
This is my home…
It feels like home…
Home…
This feels like home…
This feels like home…
This feels like home…
Home…
This feels like home…
This feels like home…
This feels like home…
I’m finally home
