I can remember a time
when the neighbourhood bond was strong.
When you could chat to one another
over the fence about everything going on.
Resolving the problems that others had,
and helping them to get through.
Those days are in the past.

Best thing I ever saw
Was a man who loved his wife
In a place where things were good
I felt peace in the neighbourhood
That feeling in the air
Something was definitely there
It was a time when things were good

I was there, I really was.
At the centre of a love vibration.
People sharing with their friendd.

Like the ghost of a dear friend dead

Broken Machine

Of rags and bones. rusty old wheels on a cobblestone street. everything I own. follows me round like a ghost that wont leave me alone. even sticks and stones. cant leave a mark on this spirit
Eel. have you really grown. when you come back bleeding from your love torn battles. wish I could feel bad for you. or sympathize after all Ive been through. Im not as strong as I seem. while your heart is beating. Ive got this broken machine. those days have gone. took so long just to pick myself up, and try to walk alone. no more afraid to let the sun stare at my face. see what you have done. nuts, bolts and parts of dark days of broken dreams. take so long to replace. as for your falling apart at the seams. wish I could feel bad for you. or sympathize after all Ive been through. how come youre not as you seem. youve got your problems. your self-esteem. wish I could feel bad for you. or feel anything after all Ive been through. you'll feel such pain,
then realize how badly,
you hurt me.

I know it's wrong,
to wish pain on another,
but I really want you,
to understand all this.

But that's long in the past,
though days I still dream,
of the times we shared,
and what you meant to me.

We had something special,
but it never lasted long,
but those days leading up to it,
I'll never forget.

The way you let,
your heart do the talking,
the way you just,
were all you could be.

The way our eyes met,
the way our hands touched,
such perfect days,
now just dreams.

I would get lost,

As The Years Pass Along

When the snow is gone,
we will remember this winter
for a long time to come.
We will remember being told not to go to work,
now that never happened before.
We will remember of being snow in,
and that has never happened before.
Yes, we will all have memories to share
as the years pass along,
of the biggest snowfall
we had in over forty years.
We will talk about it with affection,
forgetting the moans some people had.
We will laugh at how the authorities
like always were never prepared.
How we had to walk for a change
for there were no buses to be had.
We will remember the community spirit,
something we have not seen in years.
Memories will compound memories
with a few exaggerations to be had
as the years pass along.

Long Time Gone

My parents raised me tenderly,
I was their only son.
My mind got mixed with ramblin'
When I was all so young,
And I left my home the first time
When I was twelve and one.
I'm a long time a-comin', Maw,

On the western side of Texas,
On the Texas plains,
I tried to find a job o'work
But they said I's young of age.
My eyes they burned when I heard,
"Go home where you belong!"
