Bricks

When we were young,
we build our bricks
as solid as we can.
As one may crumble
we build another to replace,
and so it goes on,
until we are too old and tired
to build bricks anymore.
Then when they crumble,
our lives turn to dust,
ready to be blown away,
by the first strong wind,
to pass our way.

Build A Bridge

Build a bridge to your mind
It takes me there everytime
Lay it all on the line
Theres a way
Build a bridge
Make a path
Overlook the aftermath
Make my tears be your bath
Theres a way
Only if you'll take a ride
Go with me to the other side
Even tho its gonna crumble down
I'll keep building till you come around
Even tho its gonna fall apart
(Break my heart)
I'll keep building till I die
Build a bridge of memories
Stretch it out overseas
To the end of the world
Theres a way
Build a bridge made of pain
Send my longing down the drain
I have no reasons to complain
Theres a way
Only if you'll take a ride
Go with me to the other side
Even though it's gonna crumble down
I'll keep building till you come around
Even tho its gonna fall apart
(Break my heart)
I'll keep building till I die
Wait, wait from me
Wait, please wait for me
Wait, wait for me
Wait, please wait for me
Even though its gonna crumble down
(Gonna crumble down)
I'll keep building till you come around
(Until you come around)
Even though it's gonna fall apart
Break my heart
I'll keep building till I die
Even though its gonna crumble down
(Gonna crumble down)
I'll keep building till you come around
(Until you come around)
Even though it's gonna fall apart
Break my heart
I'll keep building till I die

Build A Fire (lenny Dee Remix)

Pulled up to rest, let the engine cool awhile.
Open the beans, gather wood for the fire.
I hum this tune, to all the girls I've known.
Should I care, about the chances I've blown?
Build a fire, they're gonna build a fire
Build a fire, they're gonna build a fire
They're gonna build a fire
They're gonna build a fire
When daylight breaks, I'll be down that road.
Rockman 'an me, with a lighter load.
We'll stop fo r lunch, in some taco bar.
Lee Marvin on the jukebox, 'Wanderin Star'.
Build a fire, they're gonna build a fire
Build a fire, they're gonna build a fire

Build

Clambering men in big bad boots
Dug up my den, dug up my roots
Treated us like plasticine town
They built us up and knocked us down
From meccano to legoland
Here they come with a brick in their hand
Men with heads filled up with sand
Its build
Its build a house where we can stay
Add a new bit everyday
Its build a road for us to cross
Build us lots and lots and lots and lots and lots
Whistling men in yellow vans
They can and drew us diagrams
Showed us how it all worked it out
And wrote it down in case of doubt
Slow, slow, quick, quick, quick
Its wall to wall and brick to brick
They work so fast it makes you sick
Its build
Its build a house where we can stay
Add a new bit everyday
Its build a road for us to cross
Build us lots and lots and lots and lots and lots
Its build
Down with sticks and up with bricks
In with boots and up with roots
Its in with suits and new recruits
Its build

Tower blocks

In ancient times
men tried to build us,
on a plain in Shinar
using burnt bricks
and bitumen for mortar,
but they build in vain.

Like a flower on its stalk
we rise into the sky,
shaped to withstand
weather, wind, storm
and even earthquakes.

We wear glass, concrete
and lightning up high
and stars shine at night
on our skin
and humans live
and work within.

Lego Poem

Let's build like high rated heroes

Let's construct intact with elevated egos

Let's build a house, a boat and a truck

Tick, tock - knock, knock

Lego is fun and it always rocks

Bricks and blocks

Doors without locks

Cars, ships, ports and docks

Tick, tock - knock, knock

With Lego we always build without, stones and rocks

Today or tomorrow, Girls and Boys

We can carefully configure these wonderful toys

With colourful bricks, mini-pieces and mini-figures

Lego is the way to follow

Build in groups or build solo

Friends, aunties, uncles and nieces

Assemble, break and reassemble pieces

Tick, tock - knock, knock - talk, talk

Lego, What do we have in stock?

Tick, tock - knock, knock - work, work

Lego, lets stop the cheap talk!

Let's all construct until we hit a stumbling block!

Statues Crumble

Still and tall as a statue.
I stand straight with perfect posture
At every event.
Be it a birthday party,
Or a funeral.
And, if it is a funeral, I'm the one
Everyone leans on.
'Tis a heavy weight I lift, every time,
And I don't have much stone left now.
Not sure how many more times I can hold them.

I'm losing my stone to rain and other weather.
It's eroding.
How much longer before I
Crumble to the ground,
Just a heap of dust?

I want to stay strong, but I'm weakening.

If I crumble who can put me back
Together again?
If I crumble when I crumble.
Will I ever be a statue again?

Still and strong, I am a statue.
But statues crumble

The Cities Of White Men

Those men build many houses:
They dig the earth, and they build;
They cut down the trees, and they build;
They work always - building.

From the elevation of the mountainside
I behold the clouds:
The clouds build many beautiful houses in the sky:
They build, and they tear down;
They build, and they dissolve. . . .

The cities of white men,
They are not beautiful like the cloud cities;
They are not vast, like the cloud cities. . . .

A wind-swept teepee
Is all the house I own. . .

We Built

- We build a wall never to fall cause we wanted to be alone.

- We build a love so strong never to be torn or ripped apart cause we knew it wasn’t wrong.

- We build a friendship with a solid foundation, with solid rocks, in a ship that never sinks but floats cause we knew it would stand forever its course.

- We build a wall never to collapse, crumble or fall cause all we wanted was to be alone.

- We build a love so strong and bold never to be torn, ripped apart, a sworn love, cause we knew it wasn’t wrong.

- We build a friendship with a solid foundation based on honesty and trust, built with solid rocks, in a heavenly ship that never sinks but floats as though you’re walking on air cause we knew it would stand forever and remain here.

And as I gaze at the clouds that forms encrypted scriptures of our blossoming love, I sigh with relief as I now believe in a love everlasting, my mind spins as dizziness settles in, I’m in for a surprise and then you descended from the skies.
Oh I smile get confused for a while, I can’t believe my naked eyes, you a friend of mine now soon to be a lover of mine, you caught me by surprise, it was you that always ignited my heart filled it up with desire, you that I dreamt of at night, Still your face was unclear for a while, yes I now remember that smile and how could I forget those eyes I get lost in every time.
Then as you touched the ground with your naked feet you reached for me, mesmerized I could hardly speak-move yet still YOU-YOU moved, moved closer how could a heart beat be so loud it deafened the crowd, then you spoke out loud but in a foreign tongue I couldn’t make out, then slowly as though you were not moving kissed me in a way I could hardly make out as though you spoke while we kissed.

It was you that always ignited my heart, you a friend of mine, soon to be a lover of all time.

The Ten Thousand Poems

it is like a brick
just some bricks
day by day
and day by day
i lay those bricks
some on the brink
of breaking days
day by day
but know what
i do not get tired
laying those bricks
as always i think
of building
our future
cathedral.

Be Like A Bird

Birds build their own nests
one twig at a time
little by little.

Birds build their own nests
strong enough
for raising their young ones
until they know
how to fly.

Be like a bird
even if it takes time
build your own home.

Be like a bird
build your home strong enough
for raising your children
until they know how to live
...on their own.

Build Your Nest

Build yo' nest
Build yo' nest
Build yo' nest
Build yo' nest on tenderness

The nest is yo' home and launcin' pad
Vibes ain't good gotcha' feelin' sad

Build yo' nest on love that tells it all
Gives you the strength to walk mighty tall

With a song in yo' heart most every day

Vermilion

She seems dressed in all the rings
Of past fatalaties
So fragile yet so devious
She continues to see it
Climatic hands that press
Her temples and my chest
Enter the night that she came home
Forever
Oh (She's the only one that makes me sad)
She is everything and more
The solemn hypnotic
My Dahlia, bathed in posession
She is so into me
I get neverous, perversed when I see her it's worse
But the stress is astounding
It's now or never she's coming home
Forever
Oh (She's the only one that makes me sad)
Hard to say what caught my attention
Fixed and crazy, Aphid Attraction
Carve my name in my face, to recognize
Such a pheromone cult to terrorize
I won't let this build up inside of me
I won't let this build up inside of me
I won't let this build up inside of me
I won't let this build up inside of me
(Yeah!)
I'm a slave, and I am a master
No restraints and, unchecked collectors
I exist throught my name, to self-oblige
She is something in me, that I despise
I won't let this build up inside of me
I won't let this build up inside of me
I won't let this build up inside of me
I won't let this build up inside of me
I won't let this build up inside of me
I won't let this build up inside of me
I won't let this build up inside of me
I won't let this build up inside of me
She Isn't real!
I Can't make her real!

I Can't make her real!

Vermilion Pt. 2

She seemed dressed in all of me,stretched across my shame
All the torment and the pain
leaked through and coverd me
Id do anything to have her to myself
Just to have her for myself
Now I dont know what to do, dont know what to do when she makes me sad
She is everything to me
The unrequited dream
The song that no one sings
The unattainable, shes a myth that I have to believe in
All I need to make it real is one more reason
I dont know what to do, I dont know what to do when she makes me sane
But I wont let this build up inside of me
I wont let this build up inside of me
I wont let this build up inside of me
I wont let this build up inside of me
But I wont let this build up inside of me
A catch in my throat
Choke, torn into pieces, I wont
No, I dont want to be this
I wont let this build up inside of me
(Wont let this build up inside of me)
I wont let this build up inside of me
(Wont let this build up inside of me)
I wont let this build up inside of me
(Wont let this build up inside of me)
I wont let this build up inside of me
(Inside of me)
She isnt real
I can't make her real
She isnt real
I can't make her real

Build Upon It

By michael mcdonald and bernie chiaravalle
Day by day
One by one
They plant the seeds of doubt
But far too many have come this far
For me to turn back now
Chorus:
I wanna build upon it
One by one
We must believe a change will come somehow
cause far too many lay down their lives
For me to give up now
Chorus:
I wanna build upon it
Bridge:
One world we leave behind
One truth that lights the way
This dream depends upon how we live today
Chorus:
I wanna build upon it...

Animals

Animals we are
Disposable, collapsable and raw,
In you go into some crowded room
And animals that climb
And theyre climbing over you until you say
Off you go, off you go
Animal I am
And Im looking for an answer just like you
I should know which way to turn
An animal that runs,
And I ran away from you because Im scared
Off you go, off you go
If youre gonna go, go now
If youre gonna go, go now
I forgot to tell you now
So if youre gonna go
Go now
Animal you are
Disposable, defenceless yes and
Watch your mouth, boys watch your mouth
Im an animal that runs,
And I made all my excuses to you
And I missed my chance by a stones throw
If youre gonna go, go now
If youre gonna go, go now
I forgot to tell you now
So if youre gonna go
Go now
Go now
Go now
Go now
One
Now crumble
Crumble and fall
Crumble and fall like an animal
Yes I crumble
Crumble and fall
Crumble and fall like an animal
Yes I crumble
Crumble and fall
Crumble and fall like an animal
Yes I crumble
Crumble and fall
Crumble and fall like an animal

Love's Land

Oh Love builds on the azure sea,
And Love builds on the golden sand,
And Love builds on the rose-winged cloud,
And sometimes Love builds on the land!

Oh if Love build on sparkling sea,
And if Love build on golden strand,
And if Love build on rosy cloud,
To Love these are the solid land!

Oh Love will build his lily walls,
And Love his pearly roof will rear
On cloud, or land, or mist, or sea-
LOve's solid land is everywhere!

Another Pyramid

Sad to say our mighty ruler
Is not really in the pink
Hopes could not be minuscular
That he'll come back from the brink
Not to beat around the bush
He looks like heading for his box
At the risk of seeming pushy
We must plan for future shocks
According to the hawk of Horus
Our most regal invalid
Is not that much longer for us
Build another pyramid
Build it, build it
Another pyramid
build it, build it
Though all doctors and physicians
Have been summoned to his bed
It'll soon be top morticians
We'll be calling for instead
With each wheeze the nation's humming
Egypt shakes with every cough
No two ways about what's coming
No discussion, bets are off
Soon our monarch will have filled the tomb
Just like his fathers did
Summon Egypt's greatest builder
Need another pyramid
Build it, build it
Another pyramid
Build it, build it
We hate to depress the nation
But our leader has been told
He should scrub his next vacation
Even put tonight on hold
This is where his loyal priesthood
Has the chance to do him proud
Holy leaders at the least should
See him happy to his shroud
He must have a vault that's grand by
Any standards for to live
Put five thousand slaves on standby
Build another pyramid
