Valentine--To Lizzie Siddal

YESTERDAY was St. Valentine.
Thought you at all, dear dove divine,
Upon the beard in sorry trim
And rueful countenance of him,
That Orson who's your Valentine?
He daubed, you know, as usual.
The stick would slip, the brush would fall:
Yet daubed he till the lamplighter
Set those two seedy flames astir;
But growled all day at slow St. Paul.
The bore was heard ere noon; the dun
Was at the door by half—past one:
At least 'tis thought so, but the clock—
No Lizzy there to help its stroke—
Struck work before the day begun.
At length he saw St. Paul's bright orb
Flash back—the serried tide absorb
That burning West which it sucked up,
Like wine poured in a water cup;—
And one more twilight toned his daub.
Some time over the fire he sat,
So lonely that he missed his cat;
Then wildly rushed to dine on tick,—
Nine minutes swearing for his stick,
And thirteen minutes for his hat.
And now another day is gone:
Once more that intellectual one
Desists from high—minded pursuits,
And hungry, staring at his boots,
Has not the strength to pull them on.
Come back, dear Liz, and looking wise
In that arm—chair which suits your size
Through some fresh drawing scrape a hole.
Your Valentine & Orson's soul
Is sad for those two friendly eyes.

Once again

Valentine's Day at the Whistle Stop Cafe (for my Granddaughter)

Your Valentine, my Grandma said, will be one who loves you true
He'll cook and clean and wash your smalls and not forget the blue.
Adored you'll be, my angel child, from morning until noon
He'll tease and tickle and paddle you, with love and an ice cream spoon.

Your Valentine, my Grandma said, will always let you speak
When he returns from work he'll smile and not let forth a squeak.
Admired you'll be, my angel child; he'll breakfast you in bed
Then after all the paddling's done, he'll stroke your pretty head.

Later........

My Valentine, Oh Granny dear - he said he loved me true
He never cooked and never cleaned nor thought about the blue
He snored, he did, Oh Granny dear - from morning until noon
Then had me bake a creme brulee whilst he licked the ice cream spoon.

My Valentine, Oh Granny dear - he never let me speak
He took me then he left me then he took me more each week.
He burped non stop, Oh Granny dear, and made noises in the bed
But still I love my Valentine, even now - without his head!

Oh Valentine, Valentine

Oh Valentine, Valentine! Won't you be mine?
Words called out to my one so divine
If the feeling is mutual then let heart intertwine
Oh Valentine, Valentine! I'll never find

Oh Valentine, Valentine! I'm lost in the lust
One look and I'm trembling, afraid and nervous
With hope that an angel will help from above
Oh Valentine, Valentine! A one sided love

Oh Valentine, Valentine! Won't you be mine?
On this one day of yearning, when souls intertwine
My brittle heart breaks upon words of decline
Oh Valentine, Valentine! You'll never be mine

If You Were My Valentine

If you were my valentine,
I would be there in the morning
To see you when you open your eyes,
Before the sun wakes and the day begins.
To shower your bed with a hundred rose pedals
Until there's a garden around you
And yet you would still be the prettiest flower.
If you were my valentine.

If you were my valentine,
This day would belong to you
I would take you anywhere you want to go
And we could get away from the rest of the world
Till the moon rises in the sky and the sun says goodbye.
Together, just you and I
If you were my valentine.

If you were my valentine
I would do anything to see you smile
And I could be your teddy-bear,
With only hugs and kisses to share
If you were my valentine.
I could be your prince,
And you could be my princess
If you were my valentine
This poem would be yours, and so would I
If you were my valentine.

Sweet Little Valentine

Oh sweet, sweet little valentine
Why sit you in despondent
Oh beautiful valentine
Life is too beautiful to cry at
And so are you my dear valentine

Oh sweet, sweet little valentine
He which you cry for
Never deserved your love
Lucky he was for having you fall for him
Stupid he was for letting you go

Oh sweet, sweet little valentine
Don't waste such tears
Oh beautiful one from Monday to Sunday
How I would wish to be in his place
I would love you oh so much
Dear sweet valentine
When you will stop the bad guys from stealing your heart
And open your eyes, to what you do not see
And is in front of you

A Soldier's Valentine

Just from the sentry's tramp
(I must take it again at ten),
I have laid my musket down,
And seized instead my pen;
For, pacing my lonely round
In the chilly twilight gray,
The thought, dear Mary, came,
That this is St. Valentine's Day.

And with the thought there came
A glimpse of the happy time
When a school-boy's first attempt
I sent you, in borrowed rhyme,
On a gilt-edged sheet, embossed
With many a quaint design,
And signed, in school-boy hand,
'Your loving Valentine.'

The years have come and gone,-
Have flown, I know not where, -
And the school-boy's merry face
Is grave with manhood's care;
But the heart of the man still beats
At the well-remembered name,
And on this St. Valentine's Day
His choice is still the same.

There was a time- ah, well!
Think not that I repine
When I dreamed this happy day
Would smile on you as mine;
But I heard my country's call;
I knew her need was sore.
Thank God, no selfish thought
Withheld me from the war.

But when the dear old flag
Shall float in its ancient pride,
When the twain shall be made one,
And feuds no more divide,-
I will lay my musket down,
My martial garb resign,
And turn my joyous feet
Toward home and Valentine.

You Are My Valentine

You are my Valentine
So lovely and divine

You are my Sunshine
With all the riches of a gold mine

But sometimes you are a thorn in my vine
Sometimes you drink the last of my wine

Yet you are my Valentine
A woman so genuine

You are my Valentine
The sweetest lips on which to dine

But sometimes you weigh heavy on my spine
Walk a very thin line I cannot define

Still I choose you as my true Valentine
You create a world I could not design

O My Valentine

In the heart of mine
You dwell as Divine
O my valentine!
O my valentine!
Like a drunkard's wine
Like a patient's pine
You remain with me always
O my valentine.
Nothing in this world is mine
But you, o my valentine
From whom seperation would be my death
Or, else, at least the broken path;
On which I cannot go back or ahead
With a heart full of your love's pangs
For your memory will eat my head
And my body will feel my inner soul's bangs.
Where the true lovers ultimately meet
The very place after my death I'll seek
In case I lost my love in this world
Which never lets the lover's desires fulfilled.
You, the soul of my soul
Are not less than my goal
Which I'm toiling to win
By fair means or sin.
With you only would be my life better
With some other not more than a fetter
Where one is kept against his will
Where one is forced to swallow the pill.
Yet, I believe in the Divine
Let me not interfere the ways of Him
For, He'll set everything right
O my valentine, o my valentine.

Just Wanna Be Your Valentine

I just wanna be your valentine, just wanna be your valentine,
Come with where just you and i,
And its the feeling now i just can't hide...

Girl you the only one which not others could,
You the only one, i just wanna be your valentine....

Till the day drops down i will be your noon,
When the sun goes dark i will be your moon...
Just come to me and just hold ma hand,
I will love the same till my world do end...

I just wanna be your valentine, just wanna be your valentine,
Come with me where just you and i,
Its the feeling now i just can't hide...

You the only one which not others could,
You the only one, i just wanna be your valentine...

Will love you till my heart is beating,
Hold you till i'm breathing,
Darling this i swear...
Hold ma hand and lets write this story together,
Will make it last forever,
And let it never end...

Girl just tell me that you mine,
Let our two soul entwine,
This feeling is so divin,
Baby just tell me you will be my valentine...

Just hold me close, tell me you will be in my soul,
When you around, i wish for nothing more...
Just tell me girl you will be my love,
You stole my heart and now its under your control...

I just wanna be your valentine, just wanna be your valentine,
Come with where just you and i,
And its the feeling now i just can't hide...

Girl you the only one which not others could,
You the only one, i just wanna be your valentine....

Valentine's without you

In the Night of Valentine's.
The lovers recreate and drinking wine.
The candles floodlight the the tables when they dine
in the star-full sky the love moon shines

Despite me
In is the Night of Valentine's.
Im crying, Wiping my tears
I'm dying & saying that I'm fine

In the Night of Valentine's.
You said that u'll return tomorrow
and now it's 2009
When will u come?
till when I should wait?
please' just give me a sign
It is the night of valentine's

Do you hear me?

Poem 18, Words

Poem 18, Words
~
Words can tell what hearts divine
This most romantic time of year:
So will you be my valentine?

I'll be yours if you'll be mine
Till golden moon meets midnight drear.
For words can tell what hearts divine

When air's perfume and water's wine,
And cupids hover at one's ear:
So will you be my valentine?

And do we feelings dare define
In phrases adamant and clear?
For words can tell what hearts divine,

And souls can step across a line
On days when angels wait to cheer:
So will you be my valentine?

Ah, love! Let love this one day shine
On fancies lush and passions sheer!
For words can tell what hearts divine:
So will you be my valentine?

Valentine II

Valentine II

Tendering lovers,
ordering tickets to the modern love.
Catch my breath.
Wish it was not so.
Why can't it be like before.
I don't understand.
Why can't the three little words,
be enough?

Hearts locked up in prisons,
set 'free' by their keys
on Valentine's day.
Loved spread,
in the wide world.
Chasing.
Breathlessly.
People like me go hiding.
Valentine oxygen burns up my little lungs,
I'm seeking some stuffiness that suits me.
Find myself as an owl,
sickened by the Valentine sunshine.
Searching desperatly,
but I got my own loving soul.
My own spark of divine fire.
Do not need a note.

If You Would Be My Valentine

If you would be my valentine
My heart would surely glow
And if you'd be my valentine
I'd want the world to know

If you would be my valentine
My eyes could finally rest
For my heart already knows
That you would be the best

If you would be my valentine
I would want the world to see
That I have found the perfect valentine
The one just for me

If you would be my valentine
My world would be much brighter
So put those precious arms around me
And hold me that much tighter

If you would be my valentine
My heart might do flips
For when I think of you
It already begins its skips

If you would be my valentine
My eyes would surely shine
So won't you please tell me YES
THAT YOU WILL ALWAYS BE MINE.

``MonoMania`` {it's valentine! ! }

So funny, how so fast I've reached this familiar time..
Looked up at calendar today, and found tomorrow's valentine.
Lips holding back a smile there, and in my mind memories of yesterday shine,
Hands not sure if to play that love song again,
As tomorrow you'll be the valentine of him,
and not mine.

Took out your picture off my closet, wiped away a little dust on there,
Like I do every year, I kept your picture on my table,
To make you see my dear, that again the love is in the air.

And as I would go for a walk, I'll carry you along in my pocket,
The view of couples buying gifts and Archie's gallery playing love songs,
I know that you will mind, now if I don't buy you some chocolates.

So I bought some of the best in town,
Bought a card from the Archie's, written 'You're my Dawn'.
And when I bought a cake & two candles, I can see a smile in your lips,
As you know I'll never miss this, even though I'm alone.

And as the night will begin to fade, and in the clock will be 11 past 58.
I'll lit the candles on the cake, and make sure that your picture be straight,
When it'll be 12, I'll let the knife go down,
First a piece of cake, then I'll kiss your lips with a low sound.

And everything will be carried out, as if all is fine,
With you picture next to me tonight I'll dine,
But still hands not sure, if to play that love song again,
As tomorrow you'll be the valentine of him,
and not mine.

And ain't it funny, how so fast I've reached this familiar time..
Looked up at calendar today, and found today's valentine.
Lips holding back a smile there, and in my mind memories of yesterday shine.
Bright old yesterday,
When you used to be this monomaniac's valentine.

At Valentine, Forever and Even After Now

My love, my life; my wife, my dear valentine
I feel my heartbeat as I write you this lines
My stars above, my blue skies, my valentine
My soul is merged in yours knowing you're mine
At Valentine, forever and even after now

Let's hold on tight, strongly to the night
And make it stay forever with all our might
For Valentine comes again but after a long while
So as I drive home tonight through the miles
The thoughts of you'll fill my heart somehow

My love, my life; my wife, my dear valentine
As long as there's moonlight and the sunshine
We'll always be not only on the fourteenth of February
'Cos your beautiful face reminiscent of a lovely memory
Wins my love at Valentine, forever and even after now

Edward Cullen (from the movie)

Edward be my Valentine,

Your skin is white and pasty
You remind me that I smell quite tasty
Edward be my Valentine

You can't read my mind
Your trapped in time
Edward be my Valentine,

Your skin is as cold as a winter wind chilling to all that come to near
You eat baby deer
Edward be my Valentine,

You drink human blood
You've also eaten bear cubs
Edward be my Valentine,

I love you more than words can tell
Although you never look quite well
Edward be my Valentine,

I'm lost in your eyes
Not sure of time
Edward be my valentine,

Your face is scary
Your arms are hairy
Edward be my valentine,

You wish to drink my blood
I'd rather you chew cud
Edward be my valentine,

A Valentine Mystery

A Valentine Mystery

The day is drawing near,
Valentine day is here,
I have not heard from
Karina: the one I hold so dear

As all my poems does she read,
Comments on a few,
Gives me courage, to carry on,
This I must do.

As writing a new valentine not an easy task,
After all many years gone by, I sent out quite a few.
The thoughts all there, memories too.
The only thing gone wrong is whom I sent them to.
As any girl with ponytails, I knew what I had to do.
Many years gone by waiting for an answer this they never do.
As I left no forwarding address just hoping that they knew.

Some day I hope to get a Valentine from someone,
even if they don’t sign their name, I’ll think it’s just from you.
I be 83 my heart still has a spot, waiting just for you.

A Valentine

A Valentine The Bree was up; the floods were out
Around the hut of Culgo Jim:
The hand of God had broke the drought
And filled the channels to the brim:
The outline of the hut loomed dim
Among the shades of murmurous pine,
That eve of good Saint Valentine.

He watched, and to his sleepy gaze
The dying embers of the fire,
Its yellow reds and pearly greys,
Made pictures of his younger days.
Outside the waters mounted higher
Beneath a half-moon's sickly shine,
That eve of good Saint Valentine.

There, in the great slab fire-place
The oak log, burnt away to coal,
Showed him the semblance of a face
Framed in a golden aureole:
Eyes, the clear windows of a soul—
Soul of a maid, who used to sign
Herself, ‘Jim, dear, your Valentine.'

Lips, whose pink curves were made to bear
Love's kisses, not to be the mock
Of grave-worms . . . Suddenly a whirr,
And twelve loud strokes upon the clock;
Then at the door a gentle knock.
The collie dog began to whine
That morn of good Saint Valentine.

He opened; by his heels the hound
Sniffed at the night. ‘Who comes, and why?
What? no one! Hush! was that a sound?
Methought I heard a human cry.
Bah! 'twas a curlew passing by
Out where the lignum bushes twine,
This morn of good Saint Valentine.

‘What ails the dog? Down, Stumpy, down!
No? Well, lead on, perchance a
It is, poor brute, that fears to drown.
Heavens! how chill the waters creep!
Why, Stumpy, do you splash and leap?
'Tis but a foolish quest of thine,
This morn of good Saint Valentine.

‘Nay, not so foolish as I thought . . .
Hark! 'mid those reeds a feeble scream!
Mother of God! a cradle—brought
Down from some homestead up the stream!
A white-robed baby! Do I dream?
No, 'tis that dear dead love of mine
Who sends me thus a Valentine!'
