Stay
They've been together since teens
both have always had dreams
it would be easy for me to say that no one really knows what it means
but we're all dreamers in this nightmare of a world
he was a rapper trying to get his opinions heard
the fact is he was just another rapper
she didn't believe in him, it hurt
she was training to be a nurse
and for her parents there was nothing worse
than a white rapper
with no money to put in her purse
he tried telling them all he could make it
in the studio making beats, recording
taking cds to market street, priced at a pound
standing around, proving it works, self promoting, selling t shirts
couldn't knock him for trying
but the dream it was dying
and nobody was buying, in fact they wouldn't take them for free
a desperate boy is all they could see
with no recognition to the art that he holds in his heart and soul
before he knew it he was just another young Mancunian on the dole
writing bars at home
Jeremy Kyle and lose woman was too much too take, he was alone
all he ever wanted was to be free
but he became stuck in doors and his girl just did her degree
you have to leave the slippery slope to climb the golden hill
the problem occurred when she told him she forgot to take the pill
and then before he knew it he was behind a pound stretcher till
he wasn't living, so the top shelf made him find his will
whiskey, jinn, anything at all to help him escape
but being stuck in mother care buying baby clothes you know its too late
unable to find a Godfather, he couldn't find a mate
he just lost his faith, lost it in the rhymes and put it in x
the drugs were the factor that's what he started to take
he began to fight and he filled up with so much hate
'stay' is what he said
not him, not the description of man I have so far gave
she heard 'stay'
'stay' from the ambulance man that shes started to date.

I couldn't stay
I am dead now.
Becuase I couldn't stay.
I didn't know how.
In the end life lost it's shine.
My life never was to glow.
I didn't want to grow.
I couldn't stay any longer.
Everything I touch went wrong.
I destroyed everything I touched.
I was hurting people most close to me.
They'll be better off without me.
I could't stay in the fight.
Some how I knew I'd lose in the end.
I never wanted any of this.
But I did want my death.
I just couldn't stay.

I Dont Stop Rappin
Dont stop
Dont stop that rap
Too short
And I dont stop rappin
Just dont stop
Too short
I dont stop rappin
Dont stop that rap
Well Im sir too short
The true mc
Fresh again with the brand new beat
The big bank roller, I know whats happening
I get on the mike and I dont stop rappin
Dont stop
Dont stop that rap
Too short
I dont stop rappin
My rap dont stop, you know it cant
I get on the mic and I make big bank
Unlike some rappers that I know
Trying to get no, but that dont go
Im that rapper, sir too short
I know youve heard my name before
And if you havent, now you have
Sir too short dont stop that rap
Dont stop
I dont stop rappin
Too short
Dont stop that rap
Im so rough so tough when I talk my stuff
I dont stop rappin cuz Im too tough
Telling you rappers what its all about
Most mcs are played out
But not too short, Im the best
You know too short is so so fresh
If thats not short, your mind is snapping
The best is fresh cause I dont stop rappin
Dont stop
Dont stop rappin
Too short
I dont stop rappin
Im sir too short, the rapping man
Im a cold mc and I know I am
Im the big time rapper from east oakland
Into music and making fans
I love young ladies who love my rhymes
Cuz what they say is right on time
The only mc with fresh hits
Its sir too short, he never quits
Thats so so true, what they say
I hear those words every day
Cause Im an mc rapper who gives you more
The big time rapper, sir too short
Dont stop
Dont stop rappin
Too short
I dont stop rappin
Why do rappers rap like me
Because I rap originally
I never ever will, sing your rap
Ill leave it to you and its just like that
I sing my rap and I know you like
The way sir too short rocks the mic
The sucker mcs dont even front
Even though too short is what they want
Cause what I say is well prepared
I look at a rapper and I make him scared
Scared to battle, the cold cold capper
Ill even be part on a female rapper
Dont stop
Dont stop rappin
Too short
I dont stop rappin
C a l I f o r
N I a and a superstar
That what it is, thats what I see
California life was made for me
Born and raised in the golden state

Just cooling out, acting shy
I got my mic and my rap wont stop
Dont stop
Dont stop rappin
Too short
Dont stop that rap
I met a freak named jiggle g
Took her on a date and spent one penny
She bought me dinner, I bought her gum
Took her to my house to have some fun
I said jiggle g, your so fresh
You look so fine with your big big breasts
I spit my game to her so tough
Sir too short was coming up
I did just what I wanted to
But when I finished what did I do
I took her home, real real fast
I charged her up for wasted gas
I knew just what she had to say
Lets get together on our next pay day
Cuz like I said, I know whats happening
And you know too cause I dont stop rappin
Dont stop
Dont stop rappin
Sir too short
Spit that rap
Oh yes baby, Im the most
Sir too short from the west coast
My rap dont stop, it never could
Im known all in your neighborhood
As an mc rapper, right on time
Sucker mcs dont sing my rhymes
Cuz if they do, Ill be slapping
Sucker mcs cuz Im all about rappin
Dont stop
I dont stop rappin
Too short
Dont stop that rap
Mc rappers, from the o
You talk about short, but you dont know
If you rap original
I might kick back and watch your show
But if I did what would I see
A so fake and imitating sucka mc
In my face trying to rap like me
But none of you suckas can rock that beat
Cuz you stand there looking like a sap
And in your rap I hear my rap
The sucka mc must want my fame
Cuz he didnt stop rappin till he heard my name
Dont stop
I dont stop rappin
Too short
Dont stop that rap
Im sir too short on the mic
Gonna tell ya what kind of girls too short likes
I like those girls that are real real fine
Thick young tenders, yours and mine
Its not all about getting that steak
Cuz what is a girl without a lot of bank
A bump and a grind and shes on her knees
The way it is now you might catch a disease
Dont stop
Dont stop that rap
Sir too short
Dont stop that rap
I dont stop rappin, just dont stop
Dont stop rappin dont stop dont stop
Too short, so fresh
Ill show you how the game comes from the west
Cuz you never ever knew that it was going on
Till a brother like me put it in a song
And Im always fresh, never the same
Just dont stop that fishes game
Dont stop
Dont stop that rap
Too short
Dont stop that rap
Im sir too short, Im that mc
Fresh again, with the beat
Im the big bank roller, I know whats happening
I get on the mic and I dont stop rapping
Dont stop
I dont stop rapping
Too short
Dont stop that rap
Dont stop rapping
Dont stop that rap

Go Home
Her parents said, girl dont leave home
But her heart kept cheering her on
She had a real good man, steady job
But the two of them just werent in her heart
She only wanted to be close to me
To give me the love she knew someday Id need
But I kept saying girl youre wrong, go home
Long days, short nights when youre on the road
For a pretty girl its a heavy load
And even so wholl pay your fare
She said Ill make it on a wing and a prayer
She only wanted to be close to me
To give me the love she knew someday Id need
But I kept saying girl youre wrong, go home
She said Ive on right to tell her how life should be
Especially when the only one she ever cared about in life was me
But she agreed to go along with my final word
As fate would have life come around
My world started tumbling down
I lost my family, my friends and job
And set free the only one who stuck with me from the start
She only wanted to be close to me
To give me the love she knew someday Id need
But I kept saying girl youre wrong, go home
She said Ive on right to tell her how life should be
Especially when the only one she ever cared about in life was me
But she agreed to go along with my final word, my final word
As fate would have life come around
My world started tumbling down
I lost my family, my friends and job
And set free the only one who stuck with me from the start
She only wanted to be close to me
To give me the love she knew someday Id need
But I kept saying girl youre wrong, go home
She only wanted to be close to me
To give me the love she knew someday Id need
But I kept saying girl youre wrong, go home
Go home baby, you better go home right now
Go home, little girl you better go home

She Doesn't Respond
Your a good looking girl but that doesn't mean I want you to leave with me
cause I see through the make up off the naivety
another girl looking for a ritch man, looking for money
he tells her a joke and she acts like she finds it funny
buying her drinks, your paying her for sex
and at the end of the night she can still reject
at least if you get a prostute she will give you what you expect
you asked the bar man for service and you know he heard you
he lets three girls go before you and still doesn't serve you
and theres some fool by your side who tells you to chill
Well I'm stood behind you and I'm ready to kill
and five minutes later one of them girls is being sick
I've heard of ladys first but you need to do your job properly you idiot
before I know it I'm face to face with the guy whose by your side
even if I was sober I would still have this pride
so this isn't just a drunken fight
I wasn't sticking up for you, I was only doing what was right
because modern day men have become so soft and its ridiculous
he is such a good guy and yet he manages to act big with us
and he said that I was far from a gentleman or sumat
at least I wouldn't give her free shots she couldn't stomach
I saw her trying to walk down the stairs she was bound to slip
I tried to help her up she thought I was tryna touch her hip
got her a glass of water and she still ended up on a drip
it turns out that shes a good girl from a wealthy family
I told her mate to take her home, he didn't understand me
he only listened when he heard what the doctor said
shes mixed drink and drugs, could have ended up dead! ?
Yeah, you got her drugs and thats why your face is red
this is all cause you thought you could get her into bed
go to the mirror and take a good look at who you are
your an idiot your just like the fool who works behind the bar.
This ones more than likely a student looking for stability
but sometimes naivety, it turns into vunrability
so come on, wake up, ey, are you still with me?

Mum And Dad's Silly Sayings
If you keep looking that way your face will stay,
Said my mum when I pulled a face one day;
What made her say it, how could it be?
It seemed so very silly, would it happen to me?
I have eyes in the back of my head, was it true?
So my sister searched for them, but no can do,
Where would a second pair of eyes ever be?
No, we couldn't find them, wasn't that funny?
I think of another saying she said to us three,
When we asked for her to give us some money;
Do you think, that I'm rich, or money grows on the tree?
So why would she say that, we never ever did see.
There was another one, when we asked how they met,
Was told in the cabbage patch, but was she a bug or a pet?
And then dad said to our surprise, we met in when in the cot,
But when we asked them how, it seemed to put them in a spot.
So! Why do parents go on with such talk, it doesn't make sense,
Like if we wanted take away,, let's do window shopping it's no expense;
But looking and not buying never filled us at all, we still were hungry,
And when we asked again and said I'm hungry, she'd say hello hungry.
I glad I don't go on like my mother and my dad,
The silly and ridiculous sayings, sure made me mad;
How could they say them, when they were not real,
Mum's say we are stupid, and don't care how we feel.

Unwed Mothers Pain
she was so young and mistook infatuation for love
and to her boyfriend she gave herself freely.
to her shock and gloom -a child was in her womb.
she told her boyfriend of what she discovered.
to hear him say 'it must be from another'
i am too young to marry
this problem you'll have to carry.
her friends turned their backs in dismay
they did'nt know just what to say.
when she told her family-they responded coldly.
' why did you make this mistake-now its far too late.
love is not the opening of your thighs.
now you'll have to hide that baby which you carry inside.'
abandoned by friends and family, when they were needed most.
she kneeled and prayed to the FATHER, SON, AND HOLY GHOST.
she recalled the words which were told to her.
'abort or abandon'
is this what you have to say?
but! my child there is no other way!
in her heart she knew that it 'could not be'
that god wanted her to abandon this baby
so with determination she began to pack
she would go elsewhere-there was no turning back.
she knew that she did not have enough education
to do what she wanted to do.
but she promised this child that
'i'll make a life for me and you'
sitting at a bus stop-bags in her hand.
she met this woman all dressed in blue with soft tender eyes.
she told her -her story, and then began to cry.
this woman put her arm around her and said
'fret not my child-you can stay with me for a while.'
with hope in her heart-she went with this lady.
found a job and continued with school.
and promised herself that no one else would
take her for a fool.
nine months later she did give birth
to a baby girl with beautiful blue eyes, and her skin so white.
and above her head was a shining bright light.
so she named her after this woman who took her in.
i'll name you Mary with the beautiful white skin.
time went by quickly and graduate she did.
she gave this child the love that was always in her heart
and her career became a very big part.
she thanked God for this lady who gave her -her start.
this beautiful lady with a kind tender heart.
the years passed quickly and mary started to grow
more beautiful than you'll ever know'
she came home from work on a cold snowy day
to find that lady mary had passed away.
she honored this lady the best way she could.
by opening her home to unwed mothers and anyone
in despair'
and named this home 'marys lair'.
and now when she tells the story she says
'mother mary always dressed in blue
my doors are open because of you'
so always keep faith in your heart and mind.
God listens! it just takes time.

Never was You
There never was you
There's only me, I'm alone
Nothing compares to
Being stuck at home
It's important
That you pretend you're alone
Cuz, after all you
Never knew me at all
Gave you second chances
Let you beg on your knees
Let you do all these things for me
Tried to let you leave
Forgiveness
Comes as easy as happiness
It never comes at all!
And I know this for sure
I've heard this all before
Nothing matters, it's not the same
It's just the fact that
You never came!
There never was you
There was only me, I'm alone
Nothing compares to
Being stuck at home
It's important
That you pretend you're alone
Cuz, after all you
Never knew me at all
Oh you were never there
You never did care!
Always trapped alone
Even though you assured me on the phone
That everything was good and well
Yeah right, that line'll never sell!
There never was you
There's only me; I'm alone
Nothing compares to
Being stuck at home
It's important
That you pretend you're alone
Cuz, after all, you
Never knew me at all!

Stories Of Hope Series #11 Adopted Child
The child was brought into this world
By an un wanting mother, did not have
any family, no sisters, no brothers.
But was adopted from birth by a woman
Who was seeking a child, and didn’t
Have any of her own for quite awhile.
This child was loved, like he could never know
Because as a mother her love she did show.
Never had a need or want for anything in life
Never knew about the mothers struggles or strife.
The child at times would question as to why
he was from a one parent family.
She told him that it was the way she wanted it to be.
She loved this child more than life itself
And in her heart this child would dwell.
Then one day before high school graduation
He had needed papers of when and where
He was born documentation.
He knew his mother kept the important
Papers in a metal box- which was always kept locked.
He found the key to the box, and opened it
Up with care, and with his mother the reason
He would share.
He found an envelope dated 1/29/92
Which was his birth date, that much he knew.
He opened the envelope and saw the heading
“ certificate of birth” on the first paper he took out.
As he opened it up and started to read
Where it said parents names, was blank as can be.
He waited for his mother to get home
And then the papers would be shown.
When she got home he asked her why there was no names?
She put her head down and said: she was to blame.
You see: you was left on the hospital steps
With a note attached to you blanket saying:
“She could not take care of you
And this was the best that she could do.”
Being a nurse in that hospital, I fell in love with you
And I went through the process to adopt you.
I have loved you from the start, and you’ve
Filled my soul and heart.
No one can love you more than I
And I will love you till the day I die.
The tears started rolling down her face
And he kissed her tears away.
He said: you are the only mother I have ever known
And because of you, I have a family.
“ that could never change for me”.
I’m so sorry that I never told you my son
And for any hurt that I may have done.
I just wanted to protect you
That is all I wanted to do.
They both shed their tears, and comforted their fears.
He said: I decided that I would go to the court of records
And change it for all to see, that you are
The only mother for me.
On his birth certificate they attached a stipulation
Which read: this woman became his mother from
The moment that he was found
And this case has become world renown.
Because of the hope she had in her heart
Her and her son got a brand new start.
HOPE IS THE KEY TO SET YOURSELF FREE

Short Rap
Short rap (echo)
Repeat x2
Short rap, is everything
Its what I think, its what I sing
Cause Im a rapper, who lets you know
When it comes to music, I will grow
Rap more raps than any mc
Your rap aint rap cause your rap aint me
Short rap, is what you find
The mastermind, short rap that rhyme
Too short baby, thats the name
When I rap my rap I rap that game
I tell it to you like you always knew
Short raps not fake, its always true
Its me, its you, short rap is life
Its everyday and every night
And I dont just say its this and that
Its everything, its what short raps
Short rap (echo)
Itz what?
Short rap(echo)
Fresh
Short rap(echo)
Short rap(echo)
Short rap(echo)
S-h-o-r-t-r-a-p
Short rap is what I call this beat
Rap that rap like no one else
Im sir too short all by myself
I make fresh raps without your help
And all I want is fame and wealth
Smooth in the game, just like that
And all you hear me say is rap
Short (echo)
Short rap, is way to hard
Every I stop, its time to start
Cause what you find, when I say rhymes
Is a non-stop rap, right on time
Im the kind of person you always thought
Couldnt make a record that would be bought
Sir too short, it couldnt be
Short rap, whats that, short rap is me
Short rap(echo)
Short rap(echo)
So so fresh
I like tenders, young and hot
You never hear short say baby why not?
Im sir too short, Im so down
Mc rapper from the oakland town
You better get up, short raps a song
It really aint short, its much too long
Cause I dont stop, once I start
Short rap, whats that, short rap is art
Took my rap to the neighborhood
From day one too short was good
True mcs make sucka mcs
In my time they rap like me
A brotha said short, hes good as you
Saw me on stage and learned the truth
I was born, to hit the tops
Short rap, I dont stop
Short rap(echo)
Short rap(echo)
Short rap(echo)
Short rap has now affected you
Short rap wont stop until I get through
Short rap could knock,
Sucka mcs stop biting on you and start biting on me
And I wont get mad, cause Im so bad
The rap you have is the rap I had
Now if you want, my new short rap
You can put it in your shorts and bite on that
Sucka mc, you know Im fresh
A rap in my trash can top your best
Check it out boy, here and now
How will you rap when you dont know how
I wish I could hear you answer that
It just wont work and thats short rap
Try to make you understand
Dont make more raps, just be a fan
Short rap(echo)
Short rap, is it sad or funny
I thought you knew short rap is money
Sucka mc, you dont need help
All you need to do is something else
Cause mc rappers are all around
And sucka mcs are like bloodhounds
Sniffing away, to find a rhyme
Just quit rapping and you wont rap mine
Short rap, Im so hard
She got her butter on my candy bar
No time to play, just work and work
I gotta kick back, call me bizurke
Cause thats just all she made me go
Toss it up short, I know you know
Short rap, is everything
Her worst nightmare, her wettest dream
Her mind, her body, short rap is life
Shes just a friend, shes not my wife
I wouldnt even let her in my car
And the babe said Im her lucky star
Im a fresh young bachelor, I roll caddy
86 her cause she said daddy
But thats not it, it wasnt that
Short rap is life so let me rap
I gotta stop sooner, but Ill stop later
Im her man, Im not a player
And I know just what shes thinking of
Sir too short, and all her love
But then she asked for my love back
And all I had was too short raps
I cant lie, I tried to try
Your fun not one, but dont asked why
Short rap(echo)
Short rap(echo)
Is everything
Short rap(echo)
Short rap(echo)
I dont stop, baby
Short rap, is everything
Its what I think, its what I sing
Short rap, in stereo
Short is what you think you know
Your rap is fresh, but look at me
I rap more rhymes than any mc
Living so close up on the hill
Short rap wont stop, it never will(echo)

Lonely 4 You (feat. Tone)
Refrain:
Everyday, I feel your love slip away
If you don't feel the same, tell me the truth
I hope you never go cause girl you gotta
Believe if you do
That my heart will be lonely for you
Vers 1:
I only care about you and me I don't want you to pretend;
About the feelings you have for me cause I heard it from your friends
saying that you wanna leave say you want for something more ,
But when I try to hold you and squeeze you you're pushing me away
Pr-chorus:
I know what you do and what you say to me I know that you're playing with my love
I know what you do and what you say to me Girl - you - gotta - know * that
Vers 2:
All alone and by the phone, girl I'm waiting for your call ;
Telling me you will be late and in the end you never show
Is this the beginning of the way you say goodbye
Girl I wanna hold you and squeeze you and beg you not to go
Bridge:
If you gotta go the you'd best let me know
I'll accept if you need to be free
Oh its all I can say I won't beg you to stay
See this man needs his dignity (ooh baby)
Rap:
Tell me the truth, don't let the sun go down on me don't lie to me, let me be your destiny
Cause you've got the key, to my heart
We'll never part you can start this love
Once again don't let our love slip away come on girl stay night and day, find out,
Who's right who's wrong, and what's going on my heart is empty when you're gone
You came into my life, you set me free you made it brighter so that I could see,
'Cause you are - my sweetest temptation my only sensation
I won't beg you to stay, I always knew it's cold alone, can you feel it to ?
There's no question, my love is true don't play with my he

Little Lost Girl
Breathe in your oxygen
blink back your tears
before they start asking questions
they just want to interfear
so why do they sound like they care
why do they sound like they care
no honey its just an act
remember they're the ones that left you feeling this way
honey, concrete fact
Shes just a little lost girl
looking back at me with a confused stare
looking back at me in the mirror
with a porceiline beige face
drama queen painted eyelashes that hold no tear to trace
Youve a thirst for friends company
for eight hours a day little girls okay
but she still wants to get away
see the stars on the other side of the equator
her age the only thing making her stay
honey why do you feel this way
shell never let you no what storms are going on in her head
shes afraid you wont understand
waiting for the right sunny day to let herself go
and show you what skins been shed
A little lost girl
looking at me with a raged stare
killing the mirror
tonight she'll fall alseep hollow
dreaming of an easier tommorow
little girl will be alright
(breathe in your oxygen)
little girl wont go down in this fight
(blink back your tears)
little girl wont stay lost
(oh god they've started to interfear)
little girl will get her sunny day
(have they started their act)
little girl will find her way
(Honey, they love you, concrete fact)

Helpless With Dementia
I was a victim of dementia
I could not remember recent things
Confined to a small lock down area
When I had a visitor, I was so happy
I can’t remember that I wasn’t a real mother to you
Or when I let others abuse and beat you too
I am now at the mercy of all others
Oh how I pray you forgave me too
You tried your best to take care of me
But I kept wandering off, only wanting to be free
You felt such guilt and cried many tears
When the doctor said you could no longer take care of me
I know you searched many nursing homes
To find that special place, that would care for me
A place of love, where i couldn’t roam
A place with nurses, where I’d be safe
You paced the floors and cried
Each time they sent me to the hospital
They would say I must haven fallen
They were convincing with their lies
Bruises on my face, they weren’t all falls
Violent patients abused me
I was at the mercy of all of them
Said they wouldn’t break elder laws
They had an excuse for everything
Blow after blow
You tried to stay most of the time
For you they put on a show
When you were there
They would paint my finger nails
And fix my hair
When you were gone I was tied to a chair
They took my dignity and self respect
They were paid by the hour, and didn’t care
Towards the end, they say I fell and broke my hip
Next week told I fell and broke my leg
Once a week I was at the emergency room
You always beat the ambulance there
The last hospital visit, I got a staph infection
The doctor said i was near the end
I couldn’t tell you what they did to me
Because I forgot so much
You stayed by my side until the end
Telling me you loved me, and softly singing hyms
The angels came for me one night
And ended all my pain
Please don’t cry for me anymore
I’ve been made whole again
I look down at you, and wish I could take the pain away
I’m in heaven now and this is where I must stay!
To all that have loved ones with dementia, please guard their care.
All nursing homes are not the way they seem. They will put on a show for you so they can make their blood money. They neglected and abused my mother. So I am her voice.
To my mother who did the best she knew how to.

Let This One Poem Be About Me
Let this one poem be just about me
Let this one poem engulf all my beauty
Let this one poem define my soul
Let this one poem consume me whole
My soul was earth bound
And my heart lay in a place that it would never be found
Let this poem be what entangles my mind
Let this poem be where people will find
They will find that missing link
And this poem it will make them think
They will wonder how this girl came
They will wonder how I avoided fame
I didn’t write these words to please
I wrote these words to tease
My heart it’s the type that beckons for ease
And my taste will not accept the flavor of peas
Let this poem describe me in most simplest of ways
Let this poem show how I get through these days
And I know people will read this and say…
This girl she knew where heart lay…
Let this poem eat me whole
Let me entire heart bleed its luscious love into a broken bowl
My soul wanted only to be free
And this poem only pushed it back into me
I never will lose any part of my soul
Because then this world will swallow my inner being whole
Let this poem be what I hate
Let this poem describe with who I would mate
Let this thoughts become my ways
Let this poem be where I stray
Let this poem show how I lie
Let this poem describe how I will die
Yes I am human I cannot avoid death
Yes I am human I chose not to use meth
These words they dance upon this page
These words they have no age
These verses have lost all meaning
Because I revealed my demeaning
Let this poem describe what I deem right
Let this poem that I will always fight
My age floats through these words
And people will never understand why I want to be heard
Let this poem be only about me
Let this poem be what sets me free
And I know some day people will look at this and say…
This girl, this girl she knew exactly where her heart lay…

(Livin' In) Desperate Times
Never thought it would be so rough
And I wonder if I have enough
To keep from breaking down
No Mercy in this town
Every day is just another test
Seems I'm always second best
But you learn along the way
That's the price you have to pay
I try to stay defiant, be tough and self reliant
Though I get tired to the bone
Love is just a wish you keep inside
How's it gonna help me to survive
Looks like I'm in this fight alone
CHORUS
And I'm living in desperate times
Being alive's my only crime
Don't care what I have to do
I'll find some way to make it through
Oh, and I'm living in desperate times
And it's too late to change my mind
Till these desperate times are done
Gonna run, watch me run
Innocents get taken in
By the promise of an easy win
They start off so naive
So eager to believe
But the glitter of the city lights
Only covers up a lonely night
Of strangers slamming doors
You're hungry and ignored
I've faced the competition
I've made the hard decisions
Will it be worth it in the end?
Taking any chance that comes along
Getting hard to tell what's right or wrong
I only wish I had a friend
And I'm livin' in desperate times
Being alive's my only crime
Don't care what I have to do
I'll find some way to make it through
Oh, and I'm livin' in desperate times
And it's too late to change my mind
Till these desperate times are done, gonna run
Watch me run
And I'm livin' in desperate times
Being alive's my only crime
Don't care what I have to do
I'll find some way to make it through -acapo

Don't Go Down
Her own body outlined in chalk
She had seen
Woke up in shock
She had a dream
Stay with me, baby stay
Don't go down
Don't go down
Stay with me, baby stay
Don't go down
Don't go down
But I knew the sense of worthlessness you have to rise above
I fought him off with my love
Called himself commander-in-chief
And her dad
Her mother called me a thief
Stay with me, baby stay
Don't go down
Don't go down
We can spend eternity
And I said I'll find a better place
Come on and move in with me
And I got her to
And as cracked as the Liberty Bell
She was hard
Snowball in hell
I met a girl
I split the scene
The globe had been spun
And her ghost leaned down to kiss me
With a message from the sun
Don't go down
Don't go down
Stay with me, baby stay
Don't go down
Stay with me, baby stay
Don't go down
Stay with me, baby stay

I Could Fly
Time stands still for no one
I know this is true
I've been stuck here waiting
Then along came you
And you gave me back
The love I had
The faith I'd lost
The life I knew
Chorus:
I wanna thank you for the love that you give me
And the sun that you put in my sky
You don't know how much you've lifted me up
But I feel so alive
That I could fly
I could fly, oh
There's no way I could've made it this far
Without you
You came to me just when I needed someone to believe
That I could make it through
And you gave me back
The love I had
The faith I'd lost
The life I knew
(REPEAT CHORUS)
Above the clouds
Fly so high, never come down
Just you and I, I'm so in love
With you, with you
And you gave me back
The love I had
The faith I'd lost
The life I knew
I wanna thank you for the love that you give me
And the sun that you put in my sky
You don't know how much you've lifted me up
But I feel so alive
(REPEAT CHORUS)
And I could fly, I could fly, oh
I wanna spread my wings
Let me tell you
Said I need your love, I need your love
Stay with me baby
Oh, I need your love, and I need your love
Stay with me baby
Oh, I need your love, I need your love
Stay with me baby
Yeah I need your love, and I need your love
Stay with me honey baby, c'mon now stay
C'mon now, yeah
You and me side by side walkin' through the woods in the pale moonlight
Oh yeah now and it feels so good

Superwrong
I passed you by just yesterday
Was a little bit out, but time had changed
And I wondered if you could sense
that I wanted to get over you
So I went into the store
Bought a dress and I looked fine in red
Right then I felt like what the heck..
Am I doin' thinking 'bout you
Did I paint in blue
An S on your T-Shirt?
I knew right then,
that was a start to make you hurt
I couldn't remember your first name
I couldn't remember how you dressed
I think you're tired and second best
So move aside now
I can't believe that I was ever with him
The world has moved along
Here comes superwrong, without me
Could never see what I saw in him
We were so young and plain
But as the rythms change I see you stay the same.
Outside my window yesterday
I heard someone calling me to say
that you were down and what can I do to fix things
I remember the day
when I used to think that you were great
Somewhere along the way
you passed your sell date
Did I paint in blue
An S on your T-Shirt?
I knew right then,
that was a start to make you hurt
I couldn't remember your first name
I couldn't remember how you dressed
I think you're tired and second best
So move aside now
I can't believe that I was ever with him
The world has moved along
Here comes superwrong, without me
Could never see what I saw in him
We were so young and plain
But as the rythms change I see you stay the same.
Repeat
Nah nah nah nah
But as the rythms change I see you stay the same. (x4)
I can't believe that I was ever with him
The world has moved along
Here comes superwrong, without me
Could never s

How Time Passed
I told you not to go, but you went anyway
You screamed I love you and I screamed it back
You said I’ll be back before I wake up
Right then and there I started to worry
Staying up all night crying my self to sleep
I heard a cry in the night, but it was just my child
Then a thought struck me he never said good bye
Why wouldn’t you say good night to your son?
In the middle of the night I prayed to god
“Please bring back my husband safely to his family.”
The sun finally rose and my husband hadn’t come home
I drove to his ex house, his mom, friends, and hide out
He was gone and no evidence was around
Fear was in my eyes as I looked at my child
I called all the investigators and police to find my love
They couldn’t find him and I started to cry
That same day I saw you on the news you lost your memory
I rushed down there and gave you a kiss and you said honey is dinner ready
I cried and laugh thinking god you’re still alive
I knew you didn’t disappear or leave us behind
