Tom Hanks

It's always a combination of physics and poetry that I find inspiring. It's hard to wrap your head around things like the Hubble scope.

A Request To Use The Hubble

I wonder if it is possible,
That I could make a request...
To use the Hubble?
And have it not be considered,
An act of good natured vanity.

'The hubble?
What are you talking about?
What is a 'hubble'?

The telescope!
Hubble Telescope.
The one used by scientists,
To locate something in the universe...
Light years away!

'For what purpose?
IF that was possible? '

I've read something by a poet,
That was so far above my head...
My binoculars,
Can not detect the meaning.
That's how far out,
The message is.

It is in a place and time...
That will take millions of years,
To comprehend the sense of it!
And I have a need to locate,
The mind that has created this.

'For what purpose?
IF that was possible? '

'Something' COSMIC is attached,
To the mind of this poet.
And other poets have yet to know it.
And I suspect,
A digesting done comes from dimensions...
No one but that poet can detect.
And I'd like to give it a try.

'Are you pulling my leg? '

Now why would I want to do that?
Are you now implying I am a magician?

Potential Poetry!

Love has no fear whatsoever in the world;
Poet does all by his love of all matters here;
Poetry is inspiring words of poet for all!

What's not possible by poetry is nothing!
Impossible is expressed in possible words
Making unknown known by poetry only!

Forms and style are poets own creations;
Poetry is ever new in expression of ideas
Inspiring all to be enthusiastic, enlightened!

Love of Nature, life, beauty and love poetry
Explores always deep to express truth new!
Poets are gods of Earth to men to new realm!

Poetry briefly converges all in a nutshell
As powerful as atomic energy in control!

Poetry! ! Poetry! ! Poetry! !

Poetry! ! Poetry! ! Poetry! !
Why are we addicted to Poetry?
We Poets who write,
All day or all night,
That Poetry! ! Poetry! ! Poetry! !

There’s scarce a moment in time,
That thoughts don’t find words in rhyme,
To put into verse,
Whether better or worse,
In that Poetry! ! Poetry! ! Poetry! !

Why do we write all these Verses?
We must have better things to do,
But whatever we try,
And I don’t know why,
We write Poem upon Poem for you.

It’s funny how my style has changed,
It’s a Limerick today I’ve composed,
It wasn’t meant to be,
But it is ~ you can see,
Just Poetry! ! Poetry! ! Poetry! !

Hard To Find

Look around, look around you answers
(Someone tell me)
Where can I, where can I find faith again
(Can you help me?)
Im running aimless just to
Try to and find a place to belong
I try explaining, but the words are
Always coming out wrong
Theres so much more to myself than this
And its so hard to find
And its so hard to find
I know youre out there
Closer now, close than Ive ever been
(To being too far gone)
Running out, running out of you again
(Can you fuel me?)
Im numb and painless
Just to keep me feeling nothing at all
I try in vain but nothing seems
To be working at all
And its so hard to find
It takes so long to get things right
And its so hard to find
I know youre out there
Theres so much more to myself than this
I know theres more to myself than this
And its so hard to find
And its so hard to find
So hard to find
It takes so long to get things right
And its so hard to find
I know youre out there
I know youre out there
Somewhere out there

An act of poetry

Ruin is what we need –
Despair is what we feed
Upon in poetry

A shock resets the nerves –
Helps remould the curves
Of written art

Catharsis helps portray –
Acting out a play
On expurgation

Tears or hidden fears
Release the bottled years
To ink a page:

The pen be our salvation.

Obsessive-compulsive Poetry

poetry, you turn
me on
i am hard, poetry
you bump
on me, i am hard
as a rock, poetry
you lay beside me
like his desire,
you suck,
poetry, you run away
and
regret, poetry you
come back,
spelling
forgiveness and
repeating
lines that were
said before
like a chant of
a Buddhist monk
Om Om Om
OmyGod!
I just come.

Poetry is the Divine Part of Man

Poetry haters love to make fun of the touchy-feely stuff
as though that defined who or what poetry is.

Poetry is the last time the sun gets reflected
in somebody's eyes, when they're saying goodbye-
maybe for forever.

And it's that first dropp of rain, touches the new brides veil,
blesses her; as she's lifting it off her face
for the first time, after being kissed in the marriage ceremony.

And poetry might be that bubble,
over the sink.. keeps floating away, fully intact;
even though all the laws of physics and gravity may be saying
it ought not be able to go on existing;

And poetry in motion
is a baby, trying to walk and falling down
again and again;
refusing to give up, surrender
less painful though that might be.

And poetry could even be your hand over my mouth,
because you know that I can never really say
what I am trying so hard to say;
as there's another form of secret communication
connects soul directly to soul,
without confusing or complicated words.

And that is some of the invisible poetry,
lives in the eyes, the hands; the heart of the mind;
and all the hidden, inner recesses of a human being; and even though
something may be a form of poetry for one; it may not be for another.

Finally, if you balled up the emotions together, and then just threw them up
into the open air, not knowing where they might come down, or even if;
this too, could be one of the purest forms of poetry.

My words could go on flowing forever, like a stream, and that could be poetry;
or they might stop without warning and

Inspiration

Through you I find great inspiration.
All around such jubilation.
Far away from recriminations.
Inspiring lengths of grace.
Fear and doubt leave without a trace.
You always put me in a speacial place.
Inspiring me to do things right.
I want to be your courageous knight.
Commiting acts of greatness for your plight.
I'd never show you the smallest slight.
Your inspiration breeds my righteous fight.
I'll always be there day and night.
You always bring inspiring light.
So let us share the greatest life.
Our inspiration frees us from the strife.
The greatest tale of inspired love.

I Like That Hat

I like that hat,
You've got on your rack.
I'll take it like that,
Don't wrap it.

I like that hat,
You've got on your rack.
I'll take it like that,
Don't wrap it

It gives me a feeling,
I could croon a new tune.
I'll take it like that,
Don't wrap it.

With a singing of a song,
I need to do.
I'll take it like that,
Don't wrap it.

I need to get away from moody blues.
I like that hat,
Don't wrap it.
I'll take it like that,
I like that hat!
Take it off your rack,
Don't wrap it.

Trying

Could you let down your hair
And be transparent for a while
Just a little while
See if your human after all
Honesty is a hard attribute to find
When we all want to seem like we've got it all figured out
I may be the first to say that I don't have a clue
I don't have all the answers
And god I pretend like I do just
Trying to find my way
Trying to find my way the best that I know how

Well I haven't memorized all the cute things to say
But I'm working on it
Maybe I'll master this art for today
I'd I qoute all the line off the top of my head
And you'd be
I dont understand all of these things Ive read
I'm just trying to find my way
Trying to find my way
Trying to find my way the best that I know how

Well I havent drawn it or figured out quite yet
But even if it takes my whole life
To get to where I need to be
And if I should fall to the bottom of the end
I'll be one step back to you
I'm trying to find my way
Trying to find my way

Sweet Bear-Ables.

Wrap me in my history
and I hope this does
not warp my future.

Wrap me in my hurts endured
and pray they don't contain me
and my healing.

Wrap me in sins
committed
against those deserving
and not deserving;
my mistakes.

Twirl me
in my ego
taint..

Flash those lights on me,
strobe- caught
guilty as charged.

Wrap me in my crazy love for you
where complete surrender offers.

Open the closed door
to find me crying desperately
as my soul weeps
for the loss
of you.

Wrap me
in
Enigma-Cloth
against the cold truths
which periodically
splash me.

Wrap me
in sweet love
for you
which makes all this
both
bearable
and unbearable;

if it were not
that when you go
as unbearable as that is

but is sweetly bearable
when you come back.

Wrap me in our Mystery
hidden
even from myself.

Altered Perception

My drug of choice is poetry.
I need no chemicals to fly.
Imagination is the key
which leads me into fantasy.
I have no need to break the laws
because I choose a different course.

I can get high on poetry.
A pleasure that’s completely free.
Why use adulterated drugs
and join the ranks of ripped off mugs.
Why should you spend your hard earned brass?
on coke or horse or even grass.

When all you need is poetry
to set your restless spirit free.
Rise to the sky on wings of words
and emulate the flight of birds.
Who recognise no boundaries
they’re free to fly just where they please.

I can alter my state of mind
by reading poetry I find
From all my worries find release
and for a little time find peace
and oftentimes sheer ecstasy
Anaesthetised by poetry.

Being A Poet

I find that I can compose a poem best,
When I am out walking, or am at rest.
When I am lying in my bed at night,
I think about what I am able to write.

Or when I’m out walking, or sat on a train,
Words and ideas, all rush round my brain.
Sometimes, ideas just appear in my head,
Or may be a result of something I’ve read.

At fellow passengers, on a train, I take a look;
Some chatter away, while others read a book.
But, me, I’m sat there, quietly composing verse;
With dozens of ideas, my creative mind bursts.

If I compose lines on my way into town,
I repeat them over, until I write them down;
If they are not written down straightaway,
Around my mind, other thoughts then play.

There are many things which inspire me to write,
Such as animals, the seasons, and the sky at night.
If I try to force ideas, they just do not flow;
The poem itself, I find, just will not grow.

I like to write on a layperson’s level;
In too much information, I do not revel.
Having chosen a decent subject or idea,
I then need to get my brain in to gear.

Of a subject, I like to consider all of the aspects,
But I keep my writing simple; not too complex.
To make a poem rhyme, words I may change,
But I only use words that are within my range.

In using unfamiliar words, I can see no point;
A nice poem, tricky words, can really disjoint.
Words, within my head, I keep batting around,
Until the perfect combination, is finally found.

With poetry, I really love the creative process,
But over time, I’ve become slightly obsessed.
Sometimes I find myself talking in rhyme;
That I am a poet, this must be a sure sign.

Of my finished poems, I often feel proud;
One day, I’ll be brave and read them aloud.
Into my swirling head, ideas continue to pop;
I love writing poetry and never want to stop!

Poetry Undefined

Poetry is a great many things
to each poet you see,
Poetry even has various meanings
as to what it is to me

Overall,

Poetry is the means
By which my heart communicates,
My mind finds the words
For these feelings and translates

Sometimes,

Poetry is my lover
My fantasies he fulfills
Beckoning me to crisp, white sheets
where my blacks and blues I spill

Or,

Poetry comes as a mysterious moon
appearing softly in the night,
age old secrets of the universe
he reveals to me with his light

See,

Poetry is my spirit
the connection to the Divine,
It lets me see what I am to be,
let’s me soar when I feel confined

So,

Don’t try too hard to define
What poetry really is
Just know that what you get from a poem
Is all a poet had to give

I Dont Write Poetry!

i dont write poetry...
i sweat poetry, i drink poetry,
i breathe poetry, i make love to poetry,
i fight poetry, i eat poetry,
i bleed poetry, i crap poetry...
too often i betray poetry,
sometimes i dropp poetry.
once i tripped over poetry,
got angry and kicked poetry.
i rocked poetry on a sleepless night,
i buried poetry on the hill...
i lived poetry, for i am poetry...

no, i dont write poetry,
but poetry writes me!

What Does Poetry Mean To Me

What does poetry mean to me
What do I get from a poem
Good poetry is a rhapsody
That makes my spirit roam

What does poetry mean to me
What do I get from an ode
Good poetry is the world to me
It is the mother lode

What does poetry mean to me
What do I get from a verse
Good poetry makes my soul soar free
And lifts the darkest curse

What does poetry mean to me
A sorry sonofabitch
Good poetry grabs me by the balls
And makes my life seem rich

What does poetry mean to me
An ageing U3Aer
Good poetry takes me back to youth
To when I was a player

What does poetry mean to me
A frustrated would-be bard
Good poetry trips not off my pen
It’s far too blooming hard
