We all live our daily lifes with a great fear,
That our dreams may never grow wings and fly.
That the chains of complaicency shall bind our hopes,
That we shall compromise our dreams for medeocrity.
Instead of fighting against the downfalls of our future,
And stand tall against the fear of failure and loss.
That we shall wish every wish and dream every dream,
That the caution of age shall replace the fear of youth.
And we shall finally have the courage to realise,
That never to try is surely the path to failure...

What went wrong? ...
As I wander through this life,
searching for something meaningful.
Only to see it slip from my grasp,
And vanish down lifes waterfall...
And I fall deeper into the abyss,
All of my secrets fade to nothing.
This well of passion remains untapped,
All of my hopes concealled in darkness...
Wildly I lash out at this dark night,
Fighting the demons that live within.
For I have raged war upon my own soul,
In effort to silence the cries of desperation...
I live within a world of unfulfilled dreams,
Spurning love for fear of failure.
I have turned my back upon passion,
Preferring the darkness of my solitude...
There's no one here to cheer for me,

Fear Itself
Does fear hold us back
From dreams unfulfilled
Love allowed to drift away
Passions allowed to wither
Does fear envelop us
Will we face it all our life
Do we stand behind the curtain of fear
Afraid to audition hope
Fear need not be our anchor
Taking us down
It can steady our bow
Root us to steady growth
Fear restrains us
From escaping the thorns of pain
It misdirects prayer to an unknown
A misbelief wrapped like a mask
Obscuring visions of the future
Though fear may be a curse
It’s a confrontation we must make
Face to face, we cannot break
Let it provide the edge
That from failure comes new challenges
Sweep fear under the rug
So we may tread lightly on its face
Knowing its claws are ready to lure us
Hence we look back for its approach
Success will defeat fear every time
But we must keep the weed killer handy

Fear is a mirage
That grows with age

The Soul I Once Chose To Keep Away
Your love has been so very bountiful,
And with it you have never failed me;
My recompense for same was surely doubtful
As I was overcome with fear, and failed thee.
I have grown so much and in so many ways
Since my regrettable failure, to which I look back
With both sorrow and regret on so many days;
From the depths of my most profound loss, I took back
Control over the demons which caused me to doubt you-
And now, I know I may not truly 'live', without you;
You are needed, as flowers need the rain-
Without you, there exists only heartache and pain,
At the realization that trepidation cost me so many years;
Never again shall I live, subject to my fears-
For that is not life at all, it is a failure to live:
A heart is not alive if there is a failure to give
It away to its mate, when its mate is found;
A soul that dwells is this way, is bound
In chains, just as a prisoner, interred;
To live in this way, where a soul's wither is inferred
Is akin to a voluntary death sentence.
I refuse to continue to serve such penance,
For the sake of a fear, long-sice defeated;
The mistakes of my past shall never again be repeated;
To not reward your love with unabashed love in return
Is surely one-one for which I hope to one day earn
Both redemption and a second chance-
At a once-inspired, yet all-too-brief romance.
God-willing, this will come to be, one day,
And I will consort again, with the soul I once chose to keep away!

Death...
In the darkness alone I sit and wait,
All that is around me I do not see.
A chilling wind blows across my soul,
Empty eyes fill with oceans of tears.
Kneeling down to stand up falling,
I filter through my hopes and dreams.
A motionless marathon of thought,
For we are all death living life daily.
Baptised in darkness, rested and reborn,
Our dreams and realities intertwined.
Death beckons through the quiet night,
A never ending infinite journey through time.
There's no dignity in death no rhyme or reason,
Yet death comes for us all without prejudice.

Escaping Fear
Escaping Fear

Does fear hold us back
Does it make us lose track
From dreams unfulfilled
From dreams we must rebuild
Love allowed to drift away
Emotional debts left to repay
Passions allowed to wither
Like a snake they slither
What restrains us
What makes us jump on a runaway bus
Fear itself is a necessity
It balances common sense and calamity
It teeters between our heart and brain
Accomplishing things that I can’t explain
Fear is that final taste
That if we don’t try it is all for waste
Failure has its successes
To learn from what it professes
So from fear there is no escaping

On top of the world
The joys of success.
The feeling that you are on top of the world.
The warmth never seems to end.
Past failures seem to be irrelevant.
That is until you fall.
You fall from that throne.
Fear begins to envolope you.
Fear of not knowing when it ends,
and wondering if you can get up when it does.
The chains of failure.
The feeling that they will never be broken
The happy moments are looked at as just dream.
Success was never really achieved.
Staying on top forever is just a fantasy.
Laying in the darkness forever is a choice
To escape the darkness I ask myself one question.
Is the depths of my failure greater the the heights of my success?
