Winter Rhapsody

Winter has come; and tardily
Now little nipping winds are rife
Where laggard leaves, on many a tree,
Still cling tenaciously to life.
Spent Autumn with a myriad hues
Had laughed at death and mocked the worm.
And now bluff Winter shouts glad news
Of Winter joys, which I refuse,
I simply sit and squirm.

For Winter, too, holds many joys,
Pert flappers, furred to ears and chin,
With painted lips, to lure the boys,
And hose that lets the breezes in
Go laughing by . . . A gladness cleaves
E'en to yon toiler, who with firm,
Swift strokes, sweeps up the fallen leaves
And, working, whistles. . . . No Man grieves
Save I who sit and squirm.

He whistles on in merry mood,
And sweeps, and sweeps along the street.
'How like all futile life,' I brood.
Nought but frustration, death, defeat.
For as he sweeps, poor toiling hack
Sweeps up dead leaf and deadly germ,
Rude winds arise and sweep them back,
And all's to do again! Alack!
I sit, and sneer, and squirm.

I squirm to hear the football fans'
Impassioned cry of 'On the ball!'
Lure of the links, the punter's plans
I squirm, I squirm, and scorn them all,
I squirm while thrushes, fluting free,
Shout triumph over clammy care....
Ah, laggard leaf upon the tree,
Squirm on, and join my thenody;
For Winter's only gift to me
Is woollen underwear.

To Fidget And Squirm

You challenge me to debate?
That's great.
You name the time, place and date.
And I prefer to do this,
Without the presence of note taking.

What is the topic you have picked to slate?
I anticipate this.
I can not wait.

'I will have to research that.
You are a bit too eager,
To be seen the fool I wish to make.
Too eager you are.
I'll have to pick on another,
To debate on my terms.
It is you and not me,
I want others to see publicly squirm.'

Oh, no problem.
I thought you were seriously prepared.

'To debate? '

No.
To fidget and squirm.

Now is The Winter With Trees Stripped Naked

Now is the winter with trees naked
when there is cold and sifting rain,
stripped bare without leaves

and then you first come past and then to me
like a sun rising over the horizon
with a yellow raincoat, your pants splashed wet, laughing and glad

and your company is full of fun
in bands of gathering fog.
Now is the winter with trees naked

cutting off every ray and light
and I know our time is only borrowed,
like a sun rising over the horizon

but stopping the rays in this winter,
in a cold world without hope or pity,
stripped bare without leaves

where you shake out your hair like a dog does with rain,
whereupon I take the clips from your hair
and I know our time is only borrowed

but your are glorious like a poster
and for long moments time is missing.
Now is the winter with trees naked

with bliss descending between us
and you are only mine, with soft lips and big eyes
whereupon I take the clips from your hair

and I see your beauty
our passion goes to practical reality,
stripped bare without leaves

we shine like the world outside in vulnerability like rainbows,
where passion sweeps us away from uncovering
and you are only mine, with soft lips and big eyes

pretty, pure and untouched
in moments of ecstasy without fatigue.
Now is the winter with trees naked
stripped bare without leaves

and I am totally lost in you.
and then you first come past and then to me,
where passion sweeps us away from uncovering
with a yellow raincoat, your pants splashed wet, laughing and glad.

Ex

I see you with her
And it makes me squirm
Why her?
What went wrong?
I say I'm over you but it's never true
You were my first and always will be
I loved you
Until I found him
Now I hate you

I'm not ready to be a woman yet, I'd like it if my body were more boyish. Maybe I'll like my curves when I'm older but right now they kind of make me squirm.

Thought For A Sunshiny Morning

It costs me never a stab nor squirm
To tread by chance upon a worm.
"Aha, my little dear," I say,

The Worm

Dawn: – I sperm
on grass, ground.
Stem to stern
bound I’m found.

Vile erme worm
underground,
silent squirm
‘neath firm mound.

Slimy derm
rings me round,
while I turn
earth, - no sound.

But I churn
while men fiddle, -
‘tis the kern
of my riddle...

Strangling watch he re-arranges

How long will it last, this happiness I'm feeling?
Long enough for me to shed the skin I'm peeling?

Slow baked beneath the golden yoke of summers ego
Lay the sanctuary of winter’s snow.
Lies asylum for those that know, for those who seek
The glow of the forest trail, who await the girl named Guess to show.

Always to try, always to fail, whether it be upon the
Astral plain or it be digging in dirt for the glow worm
Awaiting an excuse.

Watch him squirm, watch him change,
Strangling watch he re-arranges
Deranged within debauchery,
Whilst accusations of sorcery made him laugh,
Made him cry, If only he had the time to pass he said as he whimpered
His last sigh, as he kissed the sky goodnight, mourning the death of
Memory, the death of the sun he would never again have kiss his cheek
Goodbye.

Submergent Heir Apparent 1532

Regardless of their air apparent firm
Of grain, to grain, against the grain, cliff wall
One day must fall, must raftless [d]rift withal
Marked only by the generation worm
Whose earlybird descendant shall not squirm
In spite of stone erosion's crystal ball.
Tintagel's hour of need may heed no call
Hark to prophet-sea-gull, wheeling tern
One day may search its prey where wild waves churn,
Uninterrupted sea soars over all,
That climate change precipitated, squall
Dour squall succeeding Man's high plans, his germ.
Order bows to chaos as the deep
Submerges, legend, castle, climb and keep.

Slowly Into Winter

the leaves slowly cascade down
to the ground
as winter turns slowly to winter

the wind blows them around
untill the cold freezes them to the ground
as winter turns slowly to winter

i return each year to find my leaf lying here
each spring it renews it's promise
this year i didn't wait! after the first spring storm
from its branch it was torn, it lied to me again

so this fall, before the free winds blew
i went to my tree and picked the loveliest leaf icould find
and kept it with mine
untill winter turned slowly to spring

Lust is a viper.

Sir, you are so great a man.
I am not the only woman you man,
Though I may be the only woman
Who you prefer to hold uncommon,
And pour me love, so serene.
I couldn’t resist. Who can?
Yet, why should I squirm?
Why should my friends scorn?
Yes, lust has viper eyes,
And when deprived, generates jealousy.

Fish Bait

Check me out as I’m dangling from the string of life.
I’m still young and of course I’ve got it all figured out.
We all want a lover, but we don’t want the wife.

We are all swimming after things to catch.
Not knowing who we are or what we are doing.
We are simply like dogs playing robotic fetch.

Can you see through these murky waters, do you know your fate?
Because I’m blind as I helplessly wiggle and squirm.
For I’m no fish, only fish bait.

A Winter Message

A flake of snow in flurry thro’ the air
Had landed as a kiss upon my cheek:
A secret message, just for me to share;
To take to heart but never dare to speak
About or presuppose to other eyes
Your open feelings – distant though they are.
And so, upon your lips, my OWN surprise:
A flake of snow returned from me afar.

Squirm worm - for CJ

Can you remember
when you were, oh, five,
and something just more perfect than
whatever that word meant then
and more delightful than
delight
just made you squirm, it was so - well, that? just - right?

today I squirmed
and I'm great-grandfather's age.

I wonder how many others there are
around the fountain of life
squirming with delight
like a wriggly mass of
white
cherubic
maggots

You've Had Her

Things you have cherished
Now making you squirm
Ya ...
You've had her
And it's all over now
Why you were pining
You haven't a clue
Ya ...
You've had her
And it's all over now
It's all over now - for you
It's all only started - for her
Ah ...
And the one thing on your mind
Is : where is the next in line ?
As the words to all the love songs
Start making sense
To the girl
So
Far
Away

Gallows

When you were talking about purity of
Platelets
I was thinking to let the blood flow.
How easy it has become to kill now?
Is it not homecoming of the violence?

You were looking for a method to execute
yourself
and I was searching for an answer to
become free from bondage of self-contradiction.
The veins are bulging on my hands. Death
will not be happy to see me. The blood
has already frozen.

From your side and from world’s view
the ending of conscience is the right thing
But I squirm and I scream,
gallows are forever.

That Power Is War

That power that requires us is to be a saying,
Powerful is life of an ancient time when they said their life.
It is joy too powerful when imprints are made
On the heads of blooded men and women -
People who have entertained war.
I find it profound to be the saying of history
And that is between me and you.
Join me on a quest to interrogate the Gestapo,
They who squirm on their deeds with disgust.
Sorrow has not been the historical sorrow,
But presently it is superior to other sorrows.
War is ultimately a sorry affair.

Winter Nights……

What is this feeling within my heart;
Concealed by daylight hours, in a shroud of taut restraint.
Winter evenings consume, yesterdays pursue me,
Smiling, speaking, acting – I can cope, I can cope….
An injured heart bares healing in the nearness of love,
Yet love becomes frigid when winter sweeps in, I am alone.
The world is cold, my heart laments in fearful silence
Winter, winter, where are your friends? ,
Betrayed by the sheath of night, rejoicing in decay
In scornful silence, reflecting on unfulfilled dreams,
Dreading the night, enduring the day. Winter.

Hopes and Dreams, rest upon a cradle of love,
Unconditional, fruitful, forbearing, eternal,
Winter steals, freezes, and denies.
To be alone in this season, is to be alone,
No voices, no echoes, no gentle memories shared.
A solitary tree yielding to an unfeeling winter,
Surrendering its leaves to winters steel sky.
Fleeting Sunshine, stolen, lacking of kindness, or warmth
Sheets of invasive rain, such unforgiving indifference
Winter is reconciliation without forgiveness
Yet, it is the door to Spring, and the resurrection of hope.
