Mayor Giuliani at Eastertime

Easter Sunday 2005,
Rudy Giuliani was with his former wife.
His children were also there,
smell of turkey lingered in the air.
For it was Easter Sunday,
everyone was thankful with words of praise.
Posing for the camera’s with all smiles,
dressed in Easter clothes with lots of style.
Also photographing Donald and his wife,
she was carrying a new precious life.
Mya and Ron would stand by Donald’s side,
all posed for a photo to remember Eastertime.
Only a small print run would show this affair,
paper not distributed everywhere.
That’s o.k. the Shiny Sheet was there.

Happy Easter!

Palm Sunday has gone,
Holy week has begun,
The week with events
Leading to Jesus torments,
To His Resurrection,
Showing the spirits domination.

Glory to Jesus Christ!

Easter Sunday today,
The greatest holiday.
We pray and say,
All around the world,
The words of love to our Lord
Showing that his death was not in vain.

Glory to Jesus Christ!

We light the candles
As a symbol of the rising sun,
And their light resembles
Jesus was really God’s Son.
The light comes back to the world
With the risen Jesus.

Glory to Jesus Christ!

The church bells ring,
The whole world sings Alleluia!
Easter eggs we bring
As a symbol of spring
With pretty small limes
Since the ancient times.

Glory to Jesus Christ!

Easter Rabbits or Easter Bunny
Look today happy and sunny.
They represent a new life
Full of presents and so nice.
We wear new clothes to look the best,
We’d like to follow His behest.

Glory to Jesus Christ!

The history of Sunday Easter has a long story,
And today we proclaim Jesus Christ Day
And say: Glory to our Lord!
Glory to the King of all Christians:
Ukrainians and Indians,
Russians and Americans,
Of all those who want to live in love and peace,
Our life for better to increase.

Glory to Jesus Christ!

And…..Happy Easter!

Easter

Celebrating the march of spring,
Awaiting what fruitful months bring,
We honour the resurrection,
And use the time for reflection,
Children will get their chocolate fix,
And outside one can hear new born chicks,
Smiles are shared at the holiday,
With loved ones for Easter Sunday,
Family comes to the forefront,
Kids go on an Easter egg hunt,
At last it is the end of Lent,
No more in fasting are days spent,
Blessings from the Easter Bunny,
The days change from cold to sunny,
Plants begin to show their flowers,
There are ever less rain showers.

Donald Trump's Safe Kept Secret By Suzae Chevalier

Light bulbs flash and celebrity smiles,

all for a photo in "Fashion & Style".

Now at Palm Beach Today,

photographer Sue Chevalier,

snaps photos of Donald & Melania

on the morning of Easter Sunday.

Just around the same time that year,

Melania conceived a gift that was very dear.

Now Sue heard the news and never did brag,

she was not a squealer who makes money on rag mags.

Unlike a photographer who heard 'your fired' with no tears,

selling photos of Donald's wedding so 'cavalier'.

But of course at that time Sue was not near,

she was in Bora Bora having fun times with good cheer.

White Angel the Easter Rabbit

Out of a lovely fantasy…..,
She appeared one Springtime day…..,
And made our world……,
So happy in every way……,
It was a vision so wondrous……,
As we colored our eggs…..,
For the Easter Holiday

White Angel, The Easter Rabbit…..,
Brought sunshine to our lives…..,
When it came to joy we had it…..,
White Angel, The Easter Rabbit…..,

She’d hop, hop, hop….,
All day long…..,
Be dancin’ around……,
And singin’ a song…..,
As Easter came so merrily…..,
She was so much fun for us to see……,

White Angel, The Easter Rabbit…..,
Brought sunshine to our lives…..,
Lovin’ her was a tireless habit……,
White Angel, The Easter Rabbit…..,

But poof just like each night and day……,
Her visit soon had to end …..,
So she hop, hop, hopped on her way……,
Off to visit her fairytale friends……,
As we sadly bid farewell to her…….,
She said, “Come on now, don’t cry…..,
I’ll be back again some Easter Day”…..,

White Angel, The Easter Rabbit…..,
Brought sunshine to our lives…..,
When it came to joy we had it…..,
White Angel, The Easter Rabbit…..,
Pure white gold in 24 karat…..,
White Angel, The Easter Rabbit….! ! !

The Easter Show

The station wagon
Stood outside our house
Running on low
As we all piled out of the house

Mum and dad in the front
Older brothers and sisters
In the middle
And us little ones
Stuffed in the back
All waiting to go to
The Easter Show

All in our Sunday best
We waited patiently
As Dad locked up the house
Sister's giggling
Brothers trying to look cool
And us little ones
Jumping and shouting
HURRY UP DAD

Then mum hushing us
As dad headed towards the car
You could feel the eagerness
As we sat and waited
In anticipation of the ride
As we headed out
To the Easter Show

Then it came into view
As we all sat in awe
Of the coloured bright lights
Of the ferries wheel spinning
Of the roller coaster moving
So fast in the wind
Of the clowns in abundance
Handing out balloons
Lollipops and Candy floss
All junk food of sin
Patiently we waited
For the door to be opened
To run and have fun
At the Easter show

The best part of all
Was the laughter and fun
As from rides to machines
With glee we would run
Each of us begging
For a penny to have fun
With a smile and nod
Mum and Dad would say yes
As we shouted with glee
Onwards we ran let's have fun
In the sun at the old Easter show

Oh those were the days
Of what a rare treat for us
It came once a year
At the Easter Show

Easter Bunny

Easter Bunny
Come in a hurry
I want my Easter egg

Easter Bunny
Please don't tarry
Remember what I said

Paint my egg blue
With little brushes too
And add a little red to it
'Cause I won't mind if you did

Put my egg in the basket
With a little red ribbon
Put it in your jacket
And bring it to London

Easter Parade

In your easter bonnet, with all the frills upon it,
Youll be the grandest lady in the easter parade.
Ill be all in clover and when they look you over,
Ill be the proudest fellow in the easter parade.
On the avenue, fifth avenue, the photographers will snap us,
And youll find that youre in the rotogravure.
Oh, I could write a sonnet about your easter bonnet,
And of the girl Im taking to the easter parade.

A Healthier Easter

This is the first Easter
No candy baskets will be here
But we had so many baskets
Each and every year.

The kids are older now
Candy they don’t want anymore
So this Easter the baskets sit empty
Behind the closet door.

Somehow I want the Easter Bunny here
Want those baskets filled with eggs so bright
But my teens want to be healthier
So they make sure that they eat right.

They forfeit sugar and junk
No more Peeps or a big chocolate bunny
But being without Easter Baskets on Easter
Seems to be very odd and funny.

So I am putting the word out
To the Easter Bunny in my town
That I don’t think the teens will mind
If you decide to come around.

Maybe you could leave some health bars
Perhaps some fruit and veggies too
And maybe you could put some books in there
Those things could still say “I love you”.

Easter Snow

Easter is a time
for change, sunshine,
but where's the sun
as I look out my,

window this easter
morning, what is this
I see, not more snow,
rain is ok, but

snow no, snow I
thought I had seen
the last of you,
but you just keep

coming, so white
is the ground as
snow flakes keep
falling and falling.

They say if it
rains easter sunday,
for seven sundays
we shall have rain.

Does this mean
that now for seven
sundays we shall have
snow falling on us?

Sun last few weeks
you have been so
kind to us, please
pay us a visit,

once again and
bring comfort to
these old bones of
mine once again.

They say we need
the moisture, so
rain wake up and
please fall on us, once again.

Easter Theatre

Gold sun rolls around
Chocolate nipple brown
Tumble from your arms
Like the ground your breasts swell
Land awake from sleep
Hares will kick and leap
Flowers climb erect
Smiling from the moist kiss of her rainbow mouth
Chorus
Stage left
Enter easter and shes dressed in yellow yolk
Stage right
Now the son has died, the father can be born
Stand up
If wed all breathe in and blow away the smoke
New life
Wed applaud a new life
Odin mounts the tree
Bleeds for you and me
Splashing on the lamb
Gamboling with springs step
Buds will laugh and burst
Racing to be first
Turning all the soil
As the promptress fingers through her spinning script
Chorus
Easter ... in her bonnet
Easter ... in her hair
Easter ... are the ribbons
She tied everywhere

Variations On A Text By Vallejo

Me moriré en Paris con aguacero ...

I will die in Miami in the sun,
On a day when the sun is very bright,
A day like the days I remember, a day like other days,
A day that nobody knows or remembers yet,
And the sun will be bright then on the dark glasses of strangers
And in the eyes of a few friends from my childhood
And of the surviving cousins by the graveside,
While the diggers, standing apart, in the still shade of the palms,
Rest on their shovels, and smoke,
Speaking in Spanish softly, out of respect.

I think it will be on a Sunday like today,
Except that the sun will be out, the rain will have stopped,
And the wind that today made all the little shrubs kneel down;
And I think it will be a Sunday because today,
When I took out this paper and began to write,
Never before had anything looked so blank,
My life, these words, the paper, the gray Sunday;
And my dog, quivering under a table because of the storm,
Looked up at me, not understanding,
And my son read on without speaking, and my wife slept.

Donald Justice is dead. One Sunday the sun came out,
It shone on the bay, it shone on the white buildings,
The cars moved down the street slowly as always, so many,
Some with their headlights on in spite of the sun,
And after awhile the diggers with their shovels
Walked back to the graveside through the sunlight,
And one of them put his blade into the earth
To lift a few clods of dirt, the black marl of Miami,
And scattered the dirt, and spat,
Turning away abruptly, out of respect.

Easter Sunday (and not a word from McD's)

Today I solemnly resolve to say nothing
Not to observe nor write a single line
I won't even mention the man dressed like a cowboy
Nor that voluptuous chick lookin' fine

I'll not fixate on the fat,
nor lay praise on the lean
Not one single comment
Be it kindly or mean

The tall skinny lady sitting opposite me
With the red fright-wig hair
Well today I shan't make mention
That she's even there

For this Easter Sunday
I shall refrain from writing
Of people no matter be they
Strange and funky

Not even whether
that lady Is cradling
Her baby…or is that
A Rhesus monkey?

Today being Easter Sunday,
I'll not comment, I'll give it a rest,
Keep my chin on my chest
just keep my eyes on my book

But daaamn! Does that fat lady
With the monkey-like kid
Really have hair on her breast! ! ?
Guess it won't hurt to take a second look

(Sorry!) Well I hope my readers (reader?)
Will enjoy my missing Sunday spiel
My weekly dose of geezer-prose
My remarks on schmoes and schlemiels

This week I'll write not, a single jot
Nor a passing shot will I take
I shall keep my pen in my pocket
as if it were locked, and then…

Give you all a well earned "David O" break

East At Easter

We go walking, hand in hand
All across the land its east at easter
People walking hand in hand
When ships are moving south it will be east at easter
We will rock you, rock you little child
We will rock you, rock you little child
All across the land its east at easter
All across the land its east at easter
Things will lighten up the sky, east at easter
Things will lighten up the sky, east at easter
Well go walking hand in hand
cause all across the land it will be east at easter
Ah, we will rock you, rock you little child
We will rock you, rock you little child
All across the land its east at easter
When ships go moving south it will be east at easter
Theyre gonna lighten up the sky
Theyre gonna lighten up the sky
Theyre gonna lighten up the sky
East at easter
Ah, well go walking hand in hand
Well go walking hand in hand, yes
We will rock you, rock you little child
We will rock you, rock you
Rock you little child
Theyre gonna lighten up the sky
When they lighten up the sky it will be east at easter
We will rock you, rock you, rock you

The Real Reason

I'm going to tell you something you might consider funny
But Easter isn't all about the hip hoppity bunny
NOr is at about candy and all those other sweets
And the eggs in the basket and other fun treats
Now listen close to what I have to say
And you'll know why we celebrate this day
Easter tells us how much God's love costs
And how He wants to gather in the lost
It was on the cross Christ died for our sin
So those who believed now to heaven enter in
Yes, God so loved the world that He gave His Son
So victory over death could now be won
On Easter morning Christ rose from the dead
The story's not over, there's much more to be said
yes, it's okay to enjoy the bunny, the candy and sweets
The eggs in the basket and the other fun treats
Just remember that Christ's resurrection is the real reason
That we celebrate the Easter season

Marks of a True Easter Man

Another Easter,
Another season.
Trying to foster
The real reason.
Time to repent?
Done that before
Change was absent
What was it for?

Notice the marks
Of the true Easter man,
He cannot look back
Facing God's direction,
He is not going back
From his crucifixion,
Nor return to the old
Rotten life oblivion.

He lost all his plans,
Someone did it for him,
When he nailed Self up there
That decision was firm.
So the true Easter man,
Is OWNED by the Savior
His new life is more than
Just Easter time labor.

'Theref ore, do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration, or a Sabbath Day.
These are a shadow of things to come, but the reality, however, is found in
Christ.'

The Easter Flower

Far from this foreign Easter damp and chilly
My soul steals to a pear-shaped plot of ground,
Where gleamed the lilac-tinted Easter lily
Soft-scented in the air for yards around;

Alone, without a hint of guardian leaf!
Just like a fragile bell of silver rime,
It burst the tomb for freedom sweet and brief
In the young pregnant year at Eastertime;

And many thought it was a sacred sign,
And some called it the resurrection flower;
And I, a pagan, worshiped at its shrine,
Yielding my heart unto its perfumed power.

Easter's Past

Sitting in Church
Listening to sermons
With white patent leather shoes
A fancy dress and little white gloves
With a new purse,
My brothers all dressed
In nice shirts and pants,
My mom dressed up like a movie star
With her beautiful dress and hat,
My step dad who never cared for church
He even dressed up for the day.

And in our pockets
Were chocolate eggs and jelly beans
We were told not to take to church
But we couldn’t help it.
I would peek at my brothers
Sneaking candy out of their pockets
And when mom wasn’t looking
I would sneak some out of my purse,
And slowly let the chocolate egg
Dissolve in my mouth
I couldn’t let her see me chewing
Not in church!

We would come home
Have an egg hunt
That we enjoyed so much
That we all would hide the eggs again
Ourselves
Then we had a nice big Easter dinner
Maybe even play monopoly
While eating more Easter candy.

I know the holiday was about Jesus
Being resurrected
I had spent many years
In classes learning these things
But somehow Easter
Just reminds me more of
Family togetherness and love
And visits from the Easter Bunny
And I don’t think Jesus would mind that at all.

I Know It's Spring When.....

I know it's spring when blossoms bloom
I see the disappearing gloom
The sun shines bright on children's faces
Children run at fast paces
Spring sales here and there
Spring sales everywhere
Animal eggs hatch
Girls and boys play catch
Easter Bunny hopping around the town
Easter Bunny hopping up and down
Kites are flying through the sky
Now I smell a cherry pie
Now I see a dove
This is why spring is the season that I love

B.s. Pie

When the ______hits the fan
as fast -as fast as it can.
You come running,
Running, running very funny

funny like an Easter Bunny.
Now bouncing on one paw,
with other paw in the air,
your hopping high,
your hopping scared,

Gathering your lying eggs,
but they smell bad,
soon to explode in your Easter bag.
Hopping to the saint on the couch,

Saying words to flatter you come out of his pouch.
Saint laughs in his head,
he comforts you and puts you to bed.
On a bed of nails he makes you wait,
telling you what you want to hear,
making you take the bait.

Only you are the fool
for your caught in your lies,
making a mountain of B.S. Pie.
Funny you will never realize,
you've been tricked,

but your lying and thinking your slick,
thinking your the one with all the Easter chicks.
