I scrambled to the top of the precipice where Nick was waiting. 'That was fun,' I said. 'You bet it was,' said Nick. 'Let's climb higher.' 'No,' I said. 'I think we should be heading back now.' 'We have time,' Nick insisted. I said we didn't, and Nick said we did. We argued back and forth like that for about 20 minutes, then finally decided to head back. I have heard it said

I remember pretty well
As I write these
Poems, these unlikely
Unbecoming poems
Of a legal mind
Wanting still
To craft

Separate Reality
You believe what you want to believe,
we all have our separate realities,
I see what is in my dream,
but people of course can lie to me.
______ with my mind like a bumble bee,
buzzing around and ready to sting,
sting it’s “lying poison” into me.
Luckily I find you out in the nick of time,
you’ve been lying to me with no end in mind.
Thinking you had me fooled,
you make more lies like a pot of yucky stew.
Telling me to shut the door
on people you “thought’ had me floored.
All the while you’re the one,
I should of originally shunned.
Thinking your better than me,
talking like you have all
the answers that I should see,
while never really listening to know me
all because of jealousy.

The simples of kindness

Was a dog biscuit from the mailman’s vest
Today while on my way
My dog did spy

Heartaches come and go
Heartaches come and go
wounds that are left behind
scars the face of our life
every time!
One by one
they come out every month
scriptures and scribbles
tatooed upon the chest
of some daddy's little girl
Forced into the darkness,
of a cold and damp street
scorned out of her childhood
by a guardian of her life
Hard as a stone, she is
Covered with this indelible art
That sit's upon her heart
Like an eternal scar
Her body is covered in it
She tries to hide behind it
The shame of her livelihood
Her innocence and her screams
Her childhood and her dreams
Are still so very real
