Eleven and a half

To ever be eleven and a half is my one prayer,
For I feel it's an age with which few others do compare,
I'd laugh and play my days away without a single care,
I'd do what I willed even if it wasn't just or fair,
Although eternal youth seems like something we'll never see,
I tried to claim it as you can't say for sure what can't be,
I prayed so long and hard that the gods took note of my plea,
And somehow managed to get them to take pity on me,
When I finally realised I'd got what I'd asked for,
It took me some time to shake my crippling state of awe,
But youth's novelty soon wore off and it became a bore,
It proved best to grow old as I had been doing before,
So I looked to extreme means to escape life as a boy,
I took up smoking because of the health it would destroy,
And tried to gain worry lines by doing things that annoy,
Yet I'm still living this life that I don't really enjoy.

Kohelet Again It Is Not Just The Vanity Of Vanities

It is not just the vanity of vanities
It is not just the truth of the contradictions
It is not just ‘a time for this and a time for that'
It is not just ‘Remember thy Creator in the days of thy youth before the evil days grow nigh'
It is not just ‘Better a living dog than a dead lion'
It is not just ‘Enjoy your days with the wife of your youth'
It is not just the eternal truths
And the poem of the long home-
And the turning again and again of the wind and the water
And the sun and the sound-

It is not just the sheer beauty of the thing and its words
Despite an occasional archaic ugliness
It is not just the truth that cannot be gone beyond
Because this is what life is and what the grave is and what we are
It is not just too ‘that the making of many books much less the making of many poems is a weariness of the flesh-

It is that after all the years I have arrived at the time
Where the golden bowl may be broken and the voice of the grinders made low
And man return to his eternal home-

As in youth I in old age read and reread the words of the Preacher
And know myself and all of us in them-

Oh the greatest Literature is here
And part of it I repeat in my fragmented self
While the long distance of life goes beyond
In words which will be heard for the first time -

For this too is not everything
And what we do not know yet
Kohelet too does not know-

And for all of us as God permits
Who knows what will come
After the Vanity-
If it is after all Vanity
And the end of it all?

Age considers, youth ventures

Age visualizes, youth dreams

Age makes theories, youth experiments

Age loves, youth longs

Age sees people, youth sees places

Age knows belongings, youth discovers them

Age pains to gain, youth gains to others' pain

Age has heart, youth has mind

Age is thoughtful, youth is tactful

Age ponders, youth wonders

Age recounts, youth counts

Age is experienced, youth is in experience

Age is cautious, youth dashes

Age floats, youth swims

Age lives, youth still making a living

Age is in touch with termination, youth with determination

Age is confident, youth is competent

Shall I compare thee to a romantic night?

Shall I compare thee to a romantic night?
Thou art more glorious and more stunning:
Rough winds do shake thy beauty and thy loveliness,
And romantic night hath all too short of a date:
Sometimes too cold for the lovers to enjoy,
And often it amorous beauty has gone un-notice;
And from fair to fair its passion is dimmed,
By chance or nature’s changing course thy tender beauty is eternal;
But thy eternal loveliness shall not diminish;
Nor lose thy possession on thy loving heart;
Nor shall romance destroy thy relation;
When in undying lines thou beaming beauty are shown
So long as human can love and eyes can grasp,
So long live this and this gives life to thee

Exemplary - after William Shakespeare Sonnet XVIII

Shall I compare her? In what galaxy,
And when or where? No mirror could reflect
Nature's epitome so talent decked,
Gainsaying self, Time holds all time in fee!
Telescopes in vain seek other sun
One half as bright, whose universal joy,
Might Big Bang justify, all it begun.
All would exchange their place for her employ.
Myths don truth’s dress, coeval, - past, to be,
Aeons root, shoot, fruit, tree, end and start,
Under, above, in, out, earth, sky and sea,
Do merge, name frame as “all in one” apart.
Exemplary, all praise she’ll gain through giving,
Cycles may spin, yet one, though lost stays living.

Sonnet XVIII

Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer's lease hath all too short a date:
Sometimes too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often in his gold complexion dimmed;
And every fair from fair sometimes declines,
By chance, or nature's changing course untrimmed;
But thy eternal summer shall not fade,
Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow'st,
Nor shall death brag thou wander'st in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou grow'st;
So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.

What Would Shakespeare's Beloved Say?

Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
Please do and let me have my say.

Thou art more lovely and more temperate.
First time I hear this and tend to believe it

Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
Your words do shake my heart a lot today.

And summer's lease hath all too short a date.
I wish I could say something as great.

Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
How nice the words, how lovely the signs!

And often is his gold complexion dimm'd;
I wish these nice words were untrimmed.

And every fair from fair sometime declines,
And when we die our memories will be shrines.

By chance or nature's changing course untrimm'd;
How bright the day how beautiful and undimmed!

But thy eternal summer shall not fade.
For in your poetry I will be remade?

Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow'st.
I'm happy to play your temperate host.

Nor shall Death brag thou wander'st in his shade,
But we will die and our bodies fade.

When in eternal lines to time thou grow'st.
I will die and be covered with too much dust.

So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,
So long my poet, because I shall not be

So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.
So long again, for thou will soon forget me.

Amber Autumn (Sonnet)

To some, their youth was just sublime.
Then age crept up and over time
Their joy then faded with the years
As body changes led to fears.

Their days are spent rememb’ring when...
They long to see their youth again.
For those whose youth was filled with strife,
Their autumn years are best in life.

Now their retirement Is here,
Old age is far from what they fear.
Time now to enjoy and savour
Their rewards for past times labour.

It’s time to spread their wings and fly,
To enjoy God’s gifts ‘fore they die.

Your Happiness Matters

I'm sending you some humor
to brighten up your day,
may you smile or even laugh
and feel that life's okay.

I hope you escape the worry
of what others think of you,
you are seen in a better light
than what you think is true.

Your mind is full of thought
and the idea may seem real,
don't let worry in your heart
because it matters how you feel.

Take a break from the day
to help ease the inner pain,
some days you feel depressed
but there is hope after the rain.

Don't give up on the joys of life
when you aren't feeling good,
you are the better person
doing everything you should.

As a friend you are there
when others need a hand,
There are many there for you
that care and understand.

You are fun to be around
and happiness has its way,
You are liked for being you
no matter what you say.

Some days you may struggle
and no longer want to try,
so, enjoy the funny moments
and forget what makes you cry.

And You Don’t Remember Me

I sat on the park bench
pen and notebook in hand.
I watched all the people
as they passed on by.
I wondered how in life
each one of them had fared
with their happiness
and their sorrows.
I looked for inspiration
for something to write.

She looked at me and smiled,
I smiled back
thinking that was that.
“You don’t remember me? ”
She said and sat down.
I looked at her again
as memories swirled
around in my mind.
She was right
I didn’t remember her

Her hair was mousey colour
with flecks of grey
starting to appear here and there.
There were thick lines
across her forehead,
crow feet lines
near the corners of her eyes.
The corners of her mouth
drooped just slightly.

Her blues eyes were striking
and I knew I had seen them before,
but they were with a younger face
a long time ago.
A face that lit up
whenever she spoke.
“You still don’t remember me? ”
She asked once again.

I shook my head,
but unfortunately, I did.
I could remember
all the beauty
she had had in her youth,
before time had ravaged her
and taken away her beauty
and her youth.
She looked so sad.

I wanted to reach out
like I always wanted to,
but something deep inside,
a little voice you could call it,
kept telling me no.
My urge to hold her
was trying to win out,
but I couldn’t do it.
She was no longer
a part of my life.

All she was now
was a memory I clung to,
a memory of my youth
so long, long ago.
With notebook and pen,
I smiled and bit her farewell.
I whispered her name
as I said a last goodbye.
I didn’t look back
or I would have looked back with regret.
She was a past,
something none of us can ever relive.

Youth Culture Killed My Dog

Youth culture (youth culture)
Youth culture (youth culture)
Youth culture (youth culture)
Youth culture (youth culture)
Youth culture killed my dog
And i don't think it's fair (i don't think it's fair)
And his suicide can be justified
By the tastemakers, how they cried and cried and so
Bacharach and david used to write his favorite songs
Never, never, never would he worry, he'd just run and fetch the ball
But the night lights and my dog's life aren't exactly one and the same
Youth culture killed my dog
And i don't think it's fair (i don't think it's fair)
And the judgement made in the city of hate
Just broke his spirit so
Bacharach and david used to write his favorite songs
Never, never, never would he worry, he'd just run and fetch the ball
But the hiphop and the white funk just blew away my puppy's mind
I don't understand what you did to my dog
And i don't understand what you did to my dog
I don't understand what you did to my dog
I don't understand what you did to my dog
Youth culture killed my dog (youth culture killed my dog)

A Key To Happiness

There’s nothing wrong if people desire
Having most of the things in life
But what is wrong is to have lust
Craving for more, don’t enjoy what they have

We always pray for a happy life
If God hears you and grant what you’ve asked
Enjoy these blessings and be satisfied enough
If you care for others, then sharing is not bad

We may experience sometimes
God seems to not have ears, He can’t hear us
Don’t feel bad, we must believe and trust
God knows if we deserve it or not

Those who want to enjoy life
Feel contented and be satisfied with what you have
Don’t compare yourselves with others’ lives
This will steal your happiness and you’ll be sad

Who are you today my brother?

I have a question for you my dear brother
Tell me..who are you today
We both know the reason I'm asking
You're health has left you this way

I ask myself the same question
The answer is always the same
But you my dear long lost brother
Its like playing a guessing game

Medication dulls all your senses
For most that's a terrible crime
But for you my dear younger brother
It brings you some quality time

You live in a clear social bubble
Unaffected by worldly strife
In your youth you were just my young brother
Now your lost for the rest of your life

You dont know when its me on the phone
Unaware of how old you are
I remember the days spent together
Working hard on your latest 'new' car

All thats left are some polaroid photos
Taken when we were having a laugh
All thats left of our time with each other
Memories fading every day not by half

Schizophrenia the name that it is given
To many it means not a thing
Yet to you and I my young brother
Its a term that means everything

From East to West

Let sun rise from east or west
As single it is always nice and best
Why to worry about others and what for
When it turns out to be unhappy and sour

Bachelor does not mean single and alone
Spring might have come and gone
But in life there is no scope for autumn
Life is colorful and always heaven

Doors always open and bidders are free
Dance with flutes music under the tree
No one to question and always to smile
All pages blank and inkless in open file

Double means fear with double barrel gun
Embargo on entertainment and sans fun
You can’t smile even at the passers by
Exchange words even if honestly try

How much tension with preventive care
Not to look around d and can go anywhere
It would have been better as single person
At least life would have been easier with many reasons

But still some escape can be found out
Life is not that bad as single man talked about
When wife is away or on buying spree
You can let your dreams fly and feel free

Little amusement here and there
But should be confined as secret forever
If made known from any possible leak
Your mouth will be shut and tongue won’t be able to speak

Singles dare and doubles stare
One to enjoy and other to compare
But single can’t have permanent station
Doubles may have it as night halt with good relation

Prayer Changes

Somebody just look back over your life and
See where he brought you from
How many of you know?
Prayer changes (I heard that)
Prayer changes (I believe that)
Prayer changes (I know that)
Prayer changes things
Prayer changes (I heard that)
Prayer changes (I believe that)
Prayer changes (I know that)
Prayer changes things
Now I was in a real bad abusive relationship
Knowing that that was no way for me to live
A young girl like me, raised up in a good family
Way too young to endure such misery
And every night I cry myself to sleep from all the pain
And the more I prayed for sunny days it seemed to rain
(He'd hit me) at any given time
(He'd hit me) no reason at all
(He'd hit me) so, so hard
(He'd hit me) my God, sometimes I'd fall
Mama asked what happened to me
And I'd take up for him
She said the devil's a liar
And prayed God get rid of him
And now I'm going to school
Hitting those books I'm doing fine
He's out my life I'm not confused
Got peace of mind man I tell you
Prayer changes (it changes)
Prayer changes (oh it changes)
Prayer changes (I'm a witness)
Prayer changes things (said I know)
Prayer changes (it changes)
Prayer changes (it changes)
Prayer changes (I'm a living witness)
Prayer changes things
I was a freshman in college and uh...
I had just made it on the basketball team (yeah)
I had all the skills it took to make it
But on my grades I would get nothing but all D's (whoa-ah)
And the coach came to me
And had a talk with me about my career
Said if you don't get your grades up
I'm gonna have to sit you down this year
Man as tough as I was I'd break down and cried
'Cause everybody knows me
Knows that basketball is my life
(Algebra) I studied hard
(Chemistry) I gave my all
(Calculus) oh my God
(English) so many flaws
Playing ball didn't look to good for me (yeah)
My future, could not see (ooh)
I had lost all my beliefs (uh-huh)
And gave up on all my dreams (ooh yeah)
Then I went to church on Sunday (ooh-ooh)
And the pastor began to preach (yeah)
It was like he was talking to me (ohh)
When he said I can do all things (whoo-hoo)
In Christ that strengthens me (ooh-whoo)
And for me that was enough (ohh)
Now that I went from a D
All the way to an A plus
I tell you prayer changes things
Prayer changes
Prayer changes (prayer)
Prayer changes (it changes things, yeah)
Prayer changes things (ohh)
Prayer changes (said it changes things)
Prayer changes
Prayer changes (I'm a living witness that)
Prayer changes things
Me and my wife (yeah) had a few problems
We thought that nothing could solve 'em
Listening to family members (whoa) and so called friends
Man I tell you that's just how the devil creeps in (oh yes it is)
We were separated at least for a month or two (mmm-hmm)
She was wilding in the clubs
And I was out there doing wrong too (whoa-oh)
And we would walk around the house (yeah)
Putting each other down (yeah)
I mean right in front of the kids (yeah)
We would curse each other out (mmm)
Then I was in a bad accident (yeah)
And almost lost my life (yeah)
And guess who was there for me...
My wife
Now ain't it funny how He makes a way (yeah)
When we said there was no way (yeah)
I'm out the hospital and back at home
Planning another wedding day, I tell you
Prayer changes (it changes)
Prayer changes (prayer changes)
Prayer changes (prayer changes)
Prayer changes things (things, I'm a witness that)
Prayer changes (change)
Prayer changes (prayer)
Prayer changes (changes)
Prayer changes things
Now all of these things were happening in one family (yeah)
But that's okay, cause there's nothing God can't achieve (mmm-hmm)
I don't care what the problem in your life may be
'Cause who the Son sets free, is free indeed (oh)
And if you didn't know, now you should know (yeah, what)
All you have to do is take this family life for example
Now Mum and Dad are married again
Like four kids now, 'cause they just had twins (thank you)
Little sister all grown up now (yeah)
She's a lawyer, married with one child now
Two years, big brother's out of college (thank you)
And man he's got his hands full (hallelujah)
Blessed with skills, blessed with knowledge (hey)
Now he's playing for the Chicago Bulls
Prayer changes (Im a witness)
Prayer changes (prayer changes yeah)

Prayer changes things (yeah)
Prayer changes (prayer changes) (yes it does)
Prayer changes (prayer changes) (mmm)
Prayer changes (prayer changes things)
Prayer changes things (whoa)
Prayer changes (even if you're doing wrong) (yeah)
Prayer changes (or your money's gone) (oh)
Prayer changes (if you're put out your home)
Prayer changes things (yeah)
Prayer changes (if you can't find a friend) (a friend)
Prayer changes (at your journey's end) (oh)
Prayer changes (seems you just can't win)
Prayer changes things (whoa)
Prayer changes (you're really going through) (hey)
Prayer changes (and trouble's chasing you) (hey-hey)
Prayer changes (Heaven's got a hold on you)
Prayer changes things (yeah)
Prayer changes (when it seems you can't go on) (ohh)
Prayer changes (and all your strength is gone) (yeah)
Prayer changes (hold on it wont be long) (whoa)
Prayer changes things (I know prayer is gonna change)
Prayer changes (drinking or doing drugs) (hey)
Prayer changes (even if you're running the streets) (hey-hey)

Temptations Pass You By

As I think about things in the darkness of night,
There is something that turns that darkness into light.
The darkest of night is presented by the things that happened and not planned,
And the Light is presented by what the Lord does for us and we try to understand.

So as we all walk and wander lost and go around,
We need to seek the LORD and ask him to help us get found.
This makes me want to make that I do everything for Christ and be fair,
Taking this time to develop the daily strength and discipline the bonding time and prayer.

It is also good for me to think of the positive things in life and put them in their place,
Living a life like this will keep Christ in your heart and showing of your face.
So as we think about the things that and go and tempt us from the start,
We should remember Do What Jesus Would Do in our heart.

By remember the Story of Jesus being tempted in the desert by Satan for 40 Days/Nights.
And how Jesus looked at him and then bent and prayed until He saw the True Light.
Satan asked Him if you are hungry and you are the Son of God then you can turn this stone to bread.
Jesus answered, and said I am the Son of God and man cannot live on bread alone, but on the words that come out of God's mouth instead.

As Satan took Christ up to the top of the Holy City, and He asked Christ if you the Son of God then throw yourself down and have the angles lift you up and prove me that you are the best.
Well Christ answered him that it is written not to put god to the test.
Finally Satan took Jesus up very high and showed him the kingdoms of the world and said this can be yours if you bend down and worship me.

Jesus looked at him and told to back away because it is written that I am here to worship my Father only.

But also think of the things that Christ would want us to do,
For God will help you and deliver you through.

Don't wanna stay at home not making any noise

Oswick Owen Myndell

So different was Oswick.
All of his life,
He struggled to be accepted.
He never looked the part he wished to play.
Those insensitive would laugh,
At the things he would say.
And called him everything!
From worthless without a purpose...
And masquerading as straight.
Although he was gay!
And he was 'everything' he chose to be!
Straight, gay or lesbian!
Some thought of Oswick as a novelty!
But he wasn't.
His feelings were deep.
Deeper than many.
Deep and sensitive...
Oswick grew to learn some had little if any,
Feelings at all.
No stranger to the streets.
Or to the elite who came to love him most.
And when Oswick was asked what he wanted to do...?
Oswick chose the heights of power.
The 'deities' listened!
They knew Oswick did not joke.
And they had hopes Oswick would choose that too!
This was no ordinary out of the woods tiger.
And his presence, would indeed, be felt!
So different was Oswick.
All of his life,
He struggled to be accepted.
He never looked the part he wished to play.
However...
The few who came to know him,
Began to see Oswick in their sleep!
Realizing...
When Oswick decided to play,
Oswick played for keeps!
Daring 'anyone' anywhere...
To play him cheap!
Oswick Owen Myndell.
Black.
And with a name like that?

Like All Things With Time Roses Whither Away

Like all things with time roses whither away,
as does the frail beauty of lingering youth
which comes to sweet perfection on a day,
the waning of life is an ultimate truth,

as life and living is not what it seem
and daily we do live and play wantonly
while like roses, life is fair as we do deem,
but destiny strikes uncommonly

while all of life, living is just a show
in which some joy and some errors are made,
while with love at times we do like roses glow,
with time everything does eventually fade,

while at a time the canker of death lies,
even in the most beautiful of eyes.
