Soldier Dad
Sadness in my everyday life,
knowing he wont come back.
Off to save the world,
he is such a hero.
Ma and me at home
looking at old pictures
of us together.
We looked so happy like a
perfect family that never has any problems,
all of us sitting together with a big smile
on our faces, with dorky outfits on.
A shotgun blows in the distance
with a pile of smoke in the air.
The bullets dropping on the ground
over coming the gun fire.
My dad is holding the shotgun
shooting another man for his country.
Protecting us and the world
from evil.
With a smile on his face
puts a smile on mine.
He wrote us a letter to let us know he loves
me and ma very much and that he has great news
he is coming home soon; he will be on leave for
two weeks.-
Tomorrow my daddy is
coming home. I’m so happy.-
Knock on the door,
There’s a bunch of army people here.
Carrying my daddies belongings,
they tell us my dad is dead-
my ma drops to the floor
crying her eyes out.-
Today’s my daddies’ funeral,
thousands of people attended
seeing my dad in a coffin for the first
time in months and he’s
dead-
Sadness and pain is in my families’ everyday life.

Coming Home
It's a long and lonely highway.
When you're traveling all alone.
I was on my way to nowhere.
But now i'm coming home.
I'm coming home.
I've been running through the fire.
I've been running for so long.
If i took it any higher.
Baby i would be still be gone.
But now i'm coming home, coming home.i'm coming home.
Coming home, coming home, i'm coming home.
Well my home was really never.
On a far and distant shore.
If i stayed away forever.
I could never miss you more.
And so i'm coming home, coming home.i'm coming home.
Coming home,coming home,i'm coming home.
I think of all these years gone by.
Never even wondered why.
I never touched the ground.
All the time that's come and gone.
All the nights i've been alone.
And now i'm homeward bound.
I heard the thunder over canaan.
And i've heard the angels cry.
And their voices came revealing
"as you live,so will you die."
I'm coming home,coming home,i'm coming home.
I'm coming home,coming home,i'm coming home.
Coming home, coming home, i'm coming home
I'm coming home
I'm coming home, coming home, coming home...

In A Little While
Got a ticket coming home,
Wish the officer had known
What a day today has been.
Then I stumbled through the door,
Dropping junk mail on the floor.
When will this day end?
But then your letter caught my eye,
Brought the hope in me to life,
cause you know me very well,
And I bet you wrote me
Just to tell me,
In a little while,
Well be with the father;
Cant you see him smile? (ooooooh....)
In a little while,
Well be home forever,
In a while....
Were just here to learn to love him;
Well be home in just a little while.
Boy, that letter hit the spot--
Made me think of all Ive got,
And all that waits for me.
Guess Ive known it all day long;
Wonder where my thoughts went wrong.
When will my heart believe?
Waking half way through the night,
Reaching toward the lamp for light,
Picking up the word I find;
Heres another letter
To remind me.
In a little while,
Well be with the father;
Cant you see him smile? (ooooooh....)
In a little while,
Well be home forever,
In a while....
Were just here to learn to love him;
Well be home in just a little while.
Days like these are just a test of our will.
Will we walk or will we fall?
Well, I can almost see the top of the hill,
And I believe its worth it all.
In a little while,
Well be with the father;
Cant you see him smile? (ooooooh....)
In a little while,
Well be home forever,
In a while....
Were just here to learn to love him;
Well be home in just a little while.
In a little while,
Well be with the father;
Cant you see him smile? (ooooooh....)
In a little while,
Well be home forever,
In a while....
Were just here to learn to love him;
Well be home in just a little--
In a little while,
Well be with the father;
Cant you see him smile? (ooooooh....)
In a little while,
Well be home forever,
In a while....
Were just here to learn to love him;
Well be home in just a little--
In a little while,
Well be with the father;
Cant you see him smile? (ooooooh....)
In a little while,
Well be home forever,
In a while....
Were just here to learn to love him;
Well be home in just a little--
In a little while,
Well be with the father;
Cant you see him smile? (ooooooh....)

There Wont Be Many Coming Home
(orbison/ dees)
Listen all you people
Try and understand
You may be a soldier
Woman, child or man
But there wont be many coming home
No, there wont be many coming home
Oh, there wont be many
Maybe ten out of twenty
But there wont be many coming home
Now the old folks will remember
On that dark and dismal day
How their hearts were choked with pride
As their children marched away
Now the glory is all gone
They are left alone
And there wont be many coming home
No, there wont be many coming home
Oh, there wont be many
Maybe five out of twenty
But there wont be many coming home
Look real closely at the soldier
Coming at you through the haze
He may be the younger brother who ran away
And before you kill another
Listen to what I say
Oh, there wont be many coming home
Oh, there wont be many coming home
Oh, there wont be many
There may not be any
But there wont be many coming home
If they all came back but one
He was still some mothers son
And there wont be many coming home
Oh, there wont be many coming home
Oh, there wont be many coming home
Oh, there wont be many coming home.......

My Daddy's Not Coming Home
A siren had been a-blowing
I had heard it above the wind
And the sound of people running
On past my window pane
I took a look out of my window
There were people everywhere
But soon the streets, they were empty
And there was silence everywhere
My mother had been crying
I could see the teardrops in her eyes
And I reached out to comfort her
Then she tried to dry her eyes
She took me by the hand
We sat down so she could explain
That my daddy's not coming home, no never again
She said that there'd been an explosion
And she said that there wasn't much chance
Of my daddy coming on home
Oh my daddy's not coming home, coming home
He gave his life to keep us all warm
Through the raging winters, and the storms
Working all the hours that God had sent
So he could earn the money to pay our rent
But what a price to pay for a little coal
Two miles underground down in that hole
And what have you got at the end of it all
You're told, daddy's not coming home
No, your daddy's not coming home
Oh no, your daddy's not coming home, ever a-gain

Coming Home
Ive not been home
For so many years
And I did not regret being gone
Please tell me when did we talk
And when did we show
That we do care for something called love
Oh no, dont you despair now
Im as grown up as can be
Cant you forget everything
And this time listen to me
Im coming home - home
Im coming home - why dont you help me
Im coming home - home
Im coming home - why dont you love me
Its time to remember
What weve done together
I guess it is more than we know
And we should be open
And turn back the wheels
As far as we can go
I know I am your son
And everything else dont seem real
I want you back like never before
I cant take another goodbye
Im coming home - home
Im coming home - please, cant you be there
Im coming home - home
Im coming home - please, dont you leave me
Whats dones done - Im your son
Ive been hurt by your lies
I want peace after all
Thats why I want you to let me come home
Im coming home - home
Im coming home - lets fight together
Im coming home - home
Im coming home - Ive so much to tell you
Home - Im coming home
Im coming home - time heals the scars of the past
Im coming home
Im coming home - to be by your side
Im coming home - Im coming home
Im coming home - Ive so much to tell you
Im coming home - Im coming home,............

Slipped Away
Good morning son
It's off to school you go
Mom's gone to work you know
Mom when are you coming home
There's a bank robbery that's going on
Ooh this very morn
Mom's gone to wrok for sure
Mom when are you coming home
Officers the bank is being held
By two gunmen that don't mean well
Mom's on the job can't you tell
Mom when are you coming home
Mom when are you coming home
To see your son
Daughter don't be a policeman
Please be a school teacher instead
You're so good with the children
Mom when are you coming home
Teacher please excuse these boys from class
Their mother gone from a gunshot blast
Another cop shot down on patrol
Mom when are you coming home
Mom when are you coming home
To see your son
The gangsters killed our mother dead
All is lost from our family
They tried to save our mom in vain
She drowned in blood and she was not saved
The bank is open and the robbers jailed
And mom won't be coming home
The way they run their world so wrong
How can us brothers get along
Mom when are you coming home

Snow
as it pores down from the heavens
it glimmers on the ground
a smile a rises on
my face
a smile that wont leave until it does
as we drive by it my eyes start to
glimmer
like it does when it hits the ground
memories start flowing back
of us spending time together
when we were still
a family
not just people who live together
as it covers the ground
the memories keep flooding back
like a river that has flooded a town
knowing I wont be back
for a long time
a tear rolls down my face
for I know now that I’ll be leaving
my home away from home

California
Sitting in a park in Paris, France
Reading the news and it sure looks bad
They won't give peace a chance
That was just a dream some of us had
Still a lot are left to see
But I wouldn't want to stay here
It's too old and cold and settled in its ways here
Oh, but california
California I'm coming home
I'm going to see the folks I dig
I'll even kiss a sunset pig
California I'm coming home
I met a redneck on a Grecian isle
Who did the goat dance very well
He gave me back my smile
But he kept my camera to sell
Oh the rogue, the red red rogue
He cooked good omelettes and stews
And I might have stayed on with him there
But my heart cried out for you, California
California I'm coming home
Oh make me feel good rock'n roll band
I'm your biggest fan
California, I'm coming home
Chorus:
Oh it gets so lonely
When you're walking
And the streets are full of strangers
All the news of home you read
Just gives you the blues
Just gives you the blues
So I bought me a ticket
I caught a plane to Spain
Went to a party down a red dirt road
There were lots of pretty people there
Reading rolling stone, reading vogue
They said, how long can you hang around?
I said a week, maybe two,
Just until my skin turns brown
Then I'm going home to California
California I'm coming home
Will you take me as I am
Strung out on another man
California I'm coming home
I'm coming home
I'm coming home
I'm coming home
Yeah
Take me as I am
Will you
Will you

Don't Forget to Write Your Funeral Plan
Michael Jackson's 'SMILE' played, as the coffin entered everyone stood tall
Mum's poem was read and felt by all
The Mourners were smiling at the photo's of Mum
As the DVD played, no one was glum
Happy pictures were played of Mum's life with a tear
To the tune of the music 'If I Lay Here'
Friends got up for the Eulogy
Wonderful Words spoken of Mum... Now free
Free to move on, to follow a new life
Happy if Dad, finds a new wife
Everyone looked like they were enjoying the moment
In a room full of love; as if Heaven sent
For Mum was so kind and by all adored
Yet sadly the Funeral Conductor looked everso bored
He looked like he had something better to do
This was just a job and he really didn't care just who...
Who had died Or who was grieving
About the life of this person or the world they were leaving
So... Make sure you write.. Your Funeral Plan
It saves pain for the family, A real helping hand
You can choose your Funeral Home, coffin, Cemetery and your music too
It will take away some pain Of losing you
Coming Home For Christmas
Mrs Merryweather put coal on the fire,
while outside through the frosted windows
the snow was beginning to fall.
Christmas was only days away,
though the air raid sirens wailed daily,
they could not spoil the promise of Christmas.
Life just had to go on.
The coupons she had saved
would help them really celebrate.
It was going to be a Christmas
they were all going to remember.
She looked at the mantelpiece;
pride masked itself across her face
as she gazes at the photograph of her son.
Dressed in his uniform the photo stood pride of place.
He would be coming home for Christmas.
He had written to say he had leave this year.
It would be the first time the whole family
had sat around the table
to share a Christmas meal in years.
Ever since the war had started,
there had always been
at least one vacant chair there,
but not this Christmas of 1944.
Some maybe late in arriving,
but that did not matter a little bit.
The family, her family
were all coming home for Christmas Day.
The day before Christmas,
they slowly began to arrive.
One by one, she greeted them,
and then sat them around the fireplace
to be warmed by the coal fire’s glow.
They gathered toasting bread with a long fork,
singing popular songs
along with a radio show.
The thriftiness with the coupons
had bought a bounty store.
Everyone relaxed by the radio
as the hours crept slowly by.
Yawns began to appear
as one by one sleep captured everyone.
Mrs Merryweather was the last one to bed.
She waited for the knock on the door.
The knock that never came.
He was probably held up somewhere she thought.
He would be home for Christmas.
She knew it as he always kept his word.
Outside the moonlight danced on the falling snow,
blanketing all the footprints
that were out there.
Christmas morning came to greet them;
the snow lay thick on the ground.
Everyone felt so happy,
only Mrs Merryweather wore a frown.
Then came a knock on the door.
Upon answering it,
she took no notice
of the lack of footprints along the path.
Everyone’s face was filled with smile.
The person who stood there
was Mrs Merryweather’s son,
who had come home for Christmas
just as he had promised he would.
He told them all that unfortunately
he could only stay until sundown.
That his orders were that
then he had to go back.
The day was filled with merriment
and joyous celebration for all.
The day passed all too quickly
and sundown soon approached.
He said goodnight and goodbye
to everyone and wished them all well.
Mrs Merry weather, her smile transfixed.
She thanked God for his glorious gift
of having all her family around her
deep within the midst of war.
A few days passed when two letters arrived.
Both were postmarked before Christmas.
One was from her son saying how much
he looked forward to coming home.
The second was from the ministry
to inform her that her son had been killed
in action fours days before Christmas.
How could that be she questioned.
He had come home
and spent Christmas day with them.
Her son had indeed been killed
in the theatre of war on the day they said.
The mystery of his coming home for Christmas
is a mystery that remains today.

Coming Home
All those nights Ive spent alone,
Uninspired, so tired and wasted.
Theres lots of times Id have telephoned,
I couldnt find the words to say,
Im coming home,
Lord Im coming home
Ill make it short,
Ill make it sweet,
Make it up to you and me.
Im not the same guy I used to be,
What can I do to make you believe,
Im coming home,
Oh Im coming home.
Im coming home,
Yeah Im coming home.
Only seems like yesterday,
You and I were sayin goodbye,
Now Im just a few miles away
Gonna see you tonight.
Ive been alone and I live the pain,
Reach for you in desperation.
I was wrong, Ill take the blame,
I need you back now I just cant wait,
Im coming home
Yeah Im coming home.
Coming home,
Im just coming, coming,
Waiting it out.
Im just coming home.

Smile For Love To Life
'what makes you smile everyday? ',
question that i heard everytime i passed by,
i smile when i see sky and moon,
i smile when it's raining,
i smile even when i'm under hot sun.
'why? ',
same question again,
i smile when i'm tired,
i smile when i'm depressed,
i smile even if i'm sad.
'why',
and again,
i smile when i see kids playing,
i smile when i see couples holding hands,
i smile when i see people laughing happily,
'why did you smile everyday? ',
this time i give the answer,
i smile because i'm glad of what god have gives us,
i smile because i don't want to feel down,
i smile because i love the fact that human lives better
if there is someone to love and be loved,
i quickly smile at everything, for fear of having to cry
because i want to live my life to the fullest
and not having regrets in future
for the beautiful things i've missed in this world..
Missing You
Sitting here thinking about you
And all the things we used to do
I never thought that I would lose you
Cause you were always my boo
Sitting here wondering where we
Wonderin where we went wrong
Cause now Im here all alone
Wishing youd come back home, so tell me
Why, why, whyd you have to go away
Got me missing you everyday
Baby tell me why, why, whyd you have to go away
Got me missing you everyday
Everyday Im missing you
I dont understand why you left, baby what didnt I do?
Wasnt I always there for you and wasnt I good to you?
How was I to know something was wrong,
Baby I cant read minds
All you had to do was tell me
But you kept it all inside
Tell me why, why, whyd you have to go away got me missing you everyday
Baby, tell me why, why, whyd you have to go away got me missing you everyday
Everyday Im missing you
Girl Ill never find another,
Another one to take your place
Cause you were so, so good to me baby
And you kept the smile upon my face
And Im on my bended knee and Im crying, crying wont you come back to me
To me cause you mean the world to me
Why, why, whyd you have to go away got me missing you everyday
Oh tell me why, why, whyd you have to go away got me missing you everyday
Im missing you
Why, why, go away everyday
Why, why, go away everyday Im missing you
Why, why, go away everyday

Young Fresh, And New
Young and different, uh
She looked at a condom, uh
And could still see the sun, uh
Do you remember 21, uh?
Can I stay to wait huh?
Grow up today huh
Can you really blame her?
Shit you couldn't even stay home
When the world feels like it's coming and
And you don't know what you know
And you think about what's holding you
It's relatives and close
Just leave it all behind, you gotta get away
You gotta get away
Everybody
See the look in my eye, uh
I've gotta get it out, uh
I don't care if they stare, uh
I know life's not fair, uh
I'm gonna play while I'm here, huh
I gotta get out, huh
Just watch me run away now
Uh, you know sometimes you just gotta
HEY!
Run away from home
Run away from (young, fresh and new) home
Run away from home
Run away from...
(Got to get away...)
I've got to get away
Hey...
(I've got to get away...)
I've got to get away, yeah
HEY!
Run away from home
Run away from (young, fresh and new) home

Smile For Me
'Smile for me!
Is somebody waiting for me?
She took this picture
Did she take it for me?
Time is ticking,
Her smile insists, just to tell her was she waiting me?
When she smiles, I feel it, I know, I see it.
When she’s happy,
Smiles so bright, gives me another reason
For her her I’d fight!
I am happy when she’s happy
I smile when she smiles
I face the fact that it’s just her smile.
But I know inside,
Deep inside that smile,
She smiles for me, just for awhile.
A picture perfected, you should see
I just love it when she smiles for me.
She inspires me to reach out my hand
Hold her close
Let her stand
That smile of hers, no one can take,
No matter how early, no matter how late.
The time it takes, you must understand
It starting now, it starts again.
When you see her smile
It makes you see, just how deep is her real beauty.
To display her I would
Smile for me she should
My day would be complete, when she even smiles for me.
Those eyes, that skin, her hair, that grin
Makes you forget what world you are in
Her eyes I gaze
Her hands so soft
When she?
Will she?
I think she ought.
Smile for me, not the first or the last
Just smile for me, my time has past
I wait to see that smile she wore
She smiles for me forevermore.
Did I miss it?
Here it comes, a smile for me is coming out
But when, If, I wonder how.
She smiles when she sees me, when I am no where around
That smile she has inspires us all.
Will she smile? will she smile at all?
I wait to see, is it coming out? That smile is here,
It’s out it’s out
Taken with time
A grin so new
Just one more smile
Ok make it two.
Held in my arms.
Waiting’ to see.
Smiling, waiting, too much to ask,
But smile for me, at last, at last!
I saw one coming out
Here’s another
She smiles, she smiles like no other.
When she, will she, I should wonder,
But that smile of hers is the 9th world wonder.
Smile for me, smile wide smile bright!
Give me a smile to rest with tonight.
My smile is yours as you can see,
But smile for me so they all can see.
Hidden behind that timeless frame,
Is a smile I would love to see again and again'

Not Rich In Money
I may not be rich in money but I'm rich of happiness
I don't care about money
Why?
Money can't buy everything, especially feelings
Money can't last forever
I'm happy even though I'm not rich
I have a good life, I have wonderful friends and families, and most of all: I am loved and cared
Being loved and cared is far better than having money
What will you choose?
Money or friendship and love?
I am grateful for all the things God gave me
Money doesn't matter
So what if you have a lot of money
But do you feel happy?
Being happy is more important than money
Why?
Because if you're not happy... it's hard to heal unhappiness as time goes by
I am happy as long as my family and friends care about me
I am happy to have such wonderful friends and family that supports me everyday
I am happy
Even if I'm poor... but I'm happy because my family and friends fill my heart with laughters, jokes, and smile in which all the burdens and stress flows away like the wind
Being poor is good though
You see poor people that are happy
Because they have each other
You can do anything with each other and do anything together
I am thankful God...
Thank you forgiving me such a wonderful life with the best friends and family in the world
Thank you for making me feel happiness everyday
Thank you God, for supoorting me, my family, and my friends
Thank you God, for protecting everybody in this world. Even you.
Never Gonna Leave Your Side
I feel like a song without the words, a man without a soul, a bird without it's wings, a
heart without a home.
I feel like a knight without a sword, a sky without the sun 'cos you're the one.
I feel like ship beneath the waves, a child who's lost it's way, a door without a key,
a face without a name.
I feel like a breath without the air, and everyday's the same, since you've gone away.
I gotta have a reason to wake up in the morning,
You used to be the one that put a smile on my face.
There are no words that could describe how i miss you,
I miss you, everyday
I'm never gonna leave your side,
and i'm never gonna leave your side, again
I'm still holding on girl, i won't let you go'
'cos when i'm lying in your arms i know i'm home.
They tell me a man can loose his mind living in pain,
the callin times gone by, i'm crying in the rain.
You know i've wasted half the time and i'm on my knees again,
'till you come to me. (yeah)
I gotta have a reason to wake up in the morning,
You used to be that one who put a smile on my face.
There are no words that could describe how i miss you,
and i miss you, everyday.
I'm never gonna leave your side,
and i'm never gonna leave your side.
I am still holding on girl, i won't let you go,
I lay my head against your heart, and i know i'm home
I'm never gonna leave your side,
and i'm never gonna leave your side.
I am still holding on girl, i won't let you go,
'cos when i'm lying in your arms i know i'm home.

I'll Be Back
Messages come, and make us suffer
A letter comes, and keeps on asking…
When are you coming?
When are you coming?
Write me when you're coming home
Without you this house is empty
The one's I trust
A form of rose
Has written me this letter
And has asked me
Someone's breaths, Someone's heartbeat
Someone's desires, Someone's smile
Someone's dull mornings, sleepy evenings
Lonely nights, unsaid words
Longing arms
And have asked her
Longing eyes
That...
When are you coming?
When are you coming?
Write me when you're coming home
Without you this house is empty
The ones with love
My best friends
Have wrote and asked me
My village, my people
Old trees, White clouds
Green grass, my soil
My celebrations, my religion
My farms, my land
My parents and
My wife has asked
When are you coming?
When are you coming?
Write me when you're coming home
Without you this country is lonely and empty
Sometimes a motherly river's letter comes by
And brings along
My childhood days, my games in the backyard
My mother's support, being protected
My mother's lullaby, the softness of her hands
The desire in the eyes, the worries in her words
Hard on the outside, Lovely from the inside
Acts my mom
And asks me in each letter
When are you coming?
When are you coming?
Write me when you're coming home
Without you my lap is empty
Hey the passing wind tell me
Will u please do a little favor for me?
Go to my state and salute to my friends
In that state there's a road
Where my wife and kids live
Just tell them that I love them
Just tell them that I love them
Further down that road
Is my old mother
Just touch her feet and
Say my name in her ear
Hey the passing wind
Just to my friends
My wife and kids,
And my old mother
Send them this message
And tell them that…
I will come home
I will come home
The promise I made to…
My soil
To its colorful nature
To my mother lap
To my blossomed flowers
And to someone's heart…
I will fulfill it
I will come back one day
This war will be over one day
I will come back one day
This war will be over one day
I will come back one day
This war will be over one day
I will come back one day
This war will be over one day
I will come back one day
This war will be over one day

I'm Never Gonna Leave Your Side
I feel like a song without the words
A man without a soul
A bird without its wings
A heart without a home
I feel like a knight without a sword
The sky without the sun
cos you are the one
I feel like a ship beneath the waves
A child that lost its way
A door without a key
A face without a name
I feel like a breath without the air
And every day's the same
since you've gone away
I gotta have a reason to wake up in the morning
You used to be the one that put a smile on my face
There are no words that could describe how I miss you
and I miss you everyday
yeah
and I'm never gonna leave your side
and I'm never gonna leave your side again
still holding on girl
I won't let you go
cos when I'm lying in your arms
I know im home
They tell me that a man can lose his mind
Living in the pain
The call in times gone by
The crying in the rain
You know ive wasted half the time
And i'm on my knees again
till you come to me
yeah
I gotta have a reason to wake up in the morning
You used to be the one that put a smile on my face
There are no words that could describe how I miss you
and I miss you everyday
yeah
and I'm never gonna leave your side
and I'm never gonna leave your side again
still holding on girl
I won't let you go
I lay my head against your heart
I know im home
I know im home
I know im home
and I'm never gonna leave your side
and I'm never gonna leave your side again
still holding on girl
I won't let you go
cos when im lying in your arms
i know im home
