I Will Certainly Marry Him Again

Clinging to him as a new bride,
With a heart full of hope and pride,
I stepped into this married circle
With him, who was till then my uncle.

Nineteen years have we worn,
Since Man and Wife we were sworn;
Each one of these lovely days,
Has shown me one by one of his ways.

A person who doesn't believe in God,
As one from above, ruling with a golden rod;
Who isn't good, out of fear of the Lord's quake,
But is so just for goodness' sake:

Who reveres even the meanest living thing,
And at Nature's beauty whose thoughts do cling—
Whose sunny heart, anger has seldom clouded,
And who with a buoyant spirit has ever been shrouded.

None can towards him an ill-will bear,
For his nature embraces all hearts true and fair;
A person who is considerate and ever kind,
The like of whom is hard to find.

Just well of him, at first I thought,
He's now proved to be better than what I sought;
With him I vouchsafed my every thing,
In him I let dissolve, my heart of spring.

Misgivings, even small, rarely prop,
And from our fathomless love we ne'er drop;
So close we are, ourselves we pride,
The following day, sees us more closely tied.

Our thoughts to one another reach,
Ere the others' flower into speech;
Each heart in one another is blended,
And cannot be separated till our life is ended.

Four golden fruits, we did bear,
Out of the tender love we did share,
One day, away a wind will them carry,
For them to take roots when they marry.

Then two old souls, he and I,
Would quiver at the thought of passing each other by;
And our wish which we'd then cherish,
Would be, for us, not only to together perish,

But, also to be bound as Man and Wife,
In every future spurt of life,
So, sure, happier, all the more I'd be,
To marry him again, knowing him as is he!

I Love The Word Hope

I love the word hope 'tis a great word it keeps reminding you when you are down
That in many ways you are lucky you are not the worst off in the town
Compared to some you are quite lucky and though you may not be one of the privileged few
There's hope and comfort in the thought that many are worse off than you.

I love the word hope it seems positive to hope for the good days ahead
For life for you is scarce worth living if the hope in your heart it is dead
To hope for a better tomorrow is the thing that keeps us keeping on
For you do not have much to live for if hope out of your life is gone.

I love the word hope it's uplifting for those who are feeling quite low
For as they say hope springs eternal and out of hope success can grow
And one can only see a dark future for one who is struggling to cope
If that person has lost the great gift the gift that we all know as hope.

I love the word hope it's a great gift those who have it in them have fight
They keep on going through the dark tunnel till finally they reach the light
And when you retain hope through your hard days you are telling the World I'm alive
For without it life on you much harder and you find it so hard to survive.

Lesson Of Loving Learned

I hate yet I love
I smile though I cry
I talk though I want it not
I'd wish to be yours enemy
but not the vice versa

All was my fault I see
I involved the heart and not the brain
now I've got to bear the pain
not of not being loved
but for not loving back
for in bondage my heart is stack
In a comorflaged love.
But it rather be
so that I learn in brain love,
and myself preserve.

I never knew why
I now see the reason
though it cometh late
the reason of which I know not yet
I've got a person to thank,
and a reason to be happy.

Till I be fully set,
to embrase a mortal body
from the inner part of me
though I understand not when?
being chaste and pure I preffer,
All my emotions I differ.

Till I know the ways of her heart
the weakness of her mind
the strength of her thoughts
the beauty of her soul,
and the faults of her loving.
then I'll open the locks of mine heart,
to a met of my calliber
to a lover of not only my sweet side,
but someone to also understand
the less privillaged part of me
and in good and bad by me to stand.

The person I'll cherish and care
In her highs and in dispare
whom all the good we'll share,
all our burdens together to bare.
In every enevours I'll be there
to enjoy cry together
sailing in life's sea by each other.
Redefining mordern time love,
To conform its sweetness and reality.

And I Dreamt Of You

i see thy love in the distance
breathless gasping for air, for in thy dreams you where
awakening to the bleakness in my room
as my eyes begin to blear reality sets and starts the fear
for do dreams come true or do i die alone
waiting like the petals of a wilting flower fall off
until there is non and the once beautiful flowers dies naked
with no one to clothe it
will i hold you in the grave or will the grave hold me?
the numbing dreams never end the swallow's wings still amonsgt
the idle wind
my colored wold turns to grayscale
recollecting the memories eyes covered hazel
contradiction of thy thoughts standing calm love not lost
searching till i find my princess whose passionate eyes
cut right through me
for what is life if love only exists in thy thoughts?
what is romance if it is all fiction?
nothing but a portrait left empty, a passing cloud of hurt
by to meet ym love in the flesh is to find my whole heart
your heart breaks though me your love is the key
longing for my hearts door
to what day till i see sunrays shine upon your face
i dream of you the way you look
the beating of love in your heart
your wolds are like the flowing of a spring, knowing thy love
waits for me until eternity's end
is this poetry or is this love's sickness
engulfing my every being
take the heart from you and the blood ceases from me
i see what you hear
breathe taking the closest thing to me and my savior
falling in love to a person i have never met
but knowing she has salvation's fragrance
by God's grace this love will be free and able to fly away above
the earth to a point of exhaustion
but your breath will keep me alive
words are pointless for this love is speechless
preparing fro the cur

Golden Years

he finally reached his golden years
wanted to leave his family,
thoughts and love to share.
so he sat with pen in hand
wrote about his lifes plan.

it started off with just his dream
never expecting the unforseen.
as his plans began to unwind
he found himself lost in time.

he joined the army at an early age
this was to become the setting stage
he survived the street gangs and a war
and never talking about what he saw.

he managed retail businesses all his life
met the woman who would become his wife.
he had always loved children
so he thought it was time
his wife agreed and it turned out fine.

a beautiful little girl came into their life
and everything seemed twice as nice.
now he had two women who captured his heart
and knew right then, that this was the start.

the start to his golden years
with his wife he could share.
all the dreams that were meant to be
was now becoming a reality.

but the years was going by fast
he knew his dreams would not last.
now with this thought in mind
he decided it was time
to put his life in perspective
for the golden years to become effective.

so he changed his train of thoughts
a late retirement he would abort.
he retired before his time
so he could enjoy life the way
that it was meant to be
living happy and carefree.

now that he finished writing
down his thoughts and plans
he let them know
'YOUR PERCEPTION BECOMES YOUR REALITY'
and this is what mine was to me.
the golden years are now mine
and i'm lost in its time.

Young Munro the Sailor

'Twas on a sunny morning in the month of May,
I met a pretty damsel on the banks o' the Tay;
I said, My charming fair one, come tell to me I pray,
Why do you walk alone on the banks o' the Tay.

She said, Kind sir, pity me, for I am in great woe
About my young sailor lad, whose name is James Munro;
It's he has been long at sea, seven years from this day,
And I come here sometimes to weep for him that's far, far away.

Lovely creature, cease your weeping and consent to marry me,
And my houses and all my land I will give to thee,
And we shall get married without any delay,
And live happy and contented on the banks o' the Tay.

Believe me, my sweet lady, I pity the sailor's wife,
For I think she must lead a very unhappy life;
Especially on a stormy night, I'm sure she cannot sleep,
Thinking about her husband whilst on the briny deep.

Oh, sir! it is true, what you to me have said,
But I must be content with the choice I've made;
For Munro's he's young and handsome, I will ne'er deny,
And if I don't get him for a husband, believe me, I will die.

Because, when last we parted, we swore to be true,
And I will keep my troth, which lovers ought to do;
And I will pray for his safe return by night and by day,
That God may send him safe home to the banks o' the Tay.

Forgive me, noble heart, for asking to marry you,
I was only trying your love, if it was really true;
But I've found your love is pure towards your sailor lad,
And the thought thereof, believe me, makes my heart feel glad.

As homeward we retraced our steps her heart seemed glad,
In hopes of seeing again her brave sailor lad,
He had promised to marry her when he would return,
So I bade her keep up her spirits and no longer mourn.

Dear creature, the lass that's true to her sweetheart deserves great praise,
And I hope young Munro and you will spend many happy days,
For unto him I know you will ever prove true,
And perchance when he comes home he will marry you.

What you have said, kind sir, I hope will come true,
And if it does, I'll make it known to you;
And you must come to the marriage, which you musn't gainsay,
And dance and rejoice with us on the marriage-day.

When we arrived in Dundee she bade me good-bye,
Then I told her where I lived, while she said with a sigh,
Kind sir, I will long remember that morning in May,
When I met you by chance on the banks o' the Tay.

When three months were past her sailor lad came home,
And she called to see me herself alone,
And she invited me to her marriage without delay,
Which was celebrated with great pomp the next day.

So I went to the marriage with my heart full of joy,
And I wished her prosperity with her sailor boy;
And I danced and sang till daylight, and then came away,
Leaving them happy and contented on the banks o' the Tay.

So all ye pretty fair maids, of high or low degree,
Be faithful to your sweethearts when they have gone to sea,
And never be in doubts of them when they are far away,
Because they might return and marry you some unexpected day.

The Human Heart II (From The Holy Bible)

Pray in your heart and rejoice in the LORD
God hardens hearts and melts them just like snow;
Return to God with all your hearts contrite;
The LORD looks at your heart and knows your thoughts!

God searches hearts and touches them for good;
All that is in your heart is known to God!
As Saul left Samuel's place, God changed his heart;
Serve the LORD faithfully with all your heart.

‘I am with you, heart and soul, ' says the Lord;
How wicked is the human heart at times!
Take heart again and let no fear seize it;
God is the one who knows each human heart.

The Lord discerns the human heart too well;
All turn your hearts to Him in obedience,
And live by his decrees and his commands;
Be glad in heart for good things God has done.

God knows your heart's desires before you;
God had put his wisdom in Solomon's heart;
He sees the integrity of your heart;
Let hearts of those who seek the lord, rejoice!

God tests the heart and understands secrets;
God forgives when you repent from your heart;
Set your heart in seeking God all your life;
Let pride not fill your heart and bring God's wrath!

God puts both fear and courage in man's heart;
Lay up his words upon your heart with care;
Conceal no sin nor hide your guilt in heart;
God knows the cravings of the human heart!

Never harbor malice against others;
Afill your heart with joy as it pounds, leaps;
Praise God with all your heart and render thanks;
Love the Lord Almighty God with your heart!

April

WHEN the fields catch flower
And the underwood is green,
And from bower unto bower
The songs of the birds begin,
I sing with sighing between.
When I laugh and sing,
I am heavy at heart for my sin;
I am sad in the spring
For my love that I shall not win,
For a foolish thing.

This profit I have of my woe,
That I know, as I sing,
I know he will needs have it so
Who is master and king,
Who is lord of the spirit of spring.
I will serve her and will not spare
Till her pity awake
Who is good, who is pure, who is fair,
Even her for whose sake
Love hath ta’en me and slain unaware.

O my lord, O Love,
I have laid my life at thy feet;
Have thy will thereof,
Do as it please thee with it,
For what shall please thee is sweet.
I am come unto thee
To do thee service, O Love;
Yet cannot I see
Thou wilt take any pity thereof,
Any mercy on me.

But the grace I have long time sought
Comes never in sight,
If in her it abideth not,
Through thy mercy and might,
Whose heart is the world’s delight.
Thou hast sworn without fail I shall die,
For my heart is set
On what hurts me, I wot not why,
But cannot forget
What I love, what I sing for and sigh.

She is worthy of praise,
For this grief of her giving is worth
All the joy of my days
That lie between death’s day and birth,
All the lordship of things upon earth.
Nay, what have I said?
I would not be glad if I could;
My dream and my dread
Are of her, and for her sake I would
That my life were fled.

Lo, sweet, if I durst not pray to you,
Then were I dead;
If I sang not a little to say to you,
(Could it be said)
O my love, how my heart would be fed;
Ah sweet who hast hold of my heart,
For thy love’s sake I live,
Do but tell me, ere either depart,
What a lover may give
For a woman so fair as thou art.

The lovers that disbelieve,
False rumours shall grieve
And evil-speaking shall part.

Confusion

I came to love you
Only knowing you
For a few seconds
Together now for nearly three years
someone threatens to break us apart
With no way to stop it we went along
I thought today I would die
Of the one thing I thought I couldn't
a broken heart
As tears run down my face today
Tonight changed as another takes my heart
he holds me close only later to kiss me
Come today you say we're together
the hardest thing to do is choose between you both
I love you more than life itself your the light in my life
But the feelings are stronger I love him too
I knew you longer I love you more what do I do
Stay and hide my heart and emotion
Or go and show my love knowing ill be happier

Rare Thoughts that Never Go away

Has anyone out there reading this
Ever thought about that one person that is always in your thoughts and they never go away?
Well many of us out there are too scared of what or whom we miss
And then there are some of us that can't stop thinking of them throughout the day
Well I am this kind of person that just met a person not long ago
And I am here to say that my thoughts are of this person that I really admire
There are so many people that say how you can feel that way about someone who you barely know
I simply tell them that I trust in the Lord's every desire
Even though finding that one kind of person in everyone's life is rare
Who is always willing to listen and be gentle and kind
I hope that everyone can find this type of person that seems to always be there
Because I want her to know this is why she is always on my mind
And this is why these thoughts never go away
Because of the friendship that has come from the Heaven Above
This is why I am glad, for these thoughts are here to stay
And hopefully those thoughts and feelings will turn from friendship to passionate love

Married Men

(bugatti - musker)
Producers for bonnie: ronnie scott, steve wolfe
Bonnie recorded this song in 1979 for the film the world is full of married men. the lyrics are taken from the japanese single.
The world is full of married men
With wives who never understand
Theyre looking for someone to share
The excitement of a love affair
Just as soon as they find you
They wine you and dine you
You fly on the wings of romance
But in the eyes of the world
Youre just another crazy girl
Who loves a married man
Oh your love is a secret
And youve got to keep it
As long as you can
No dont cry for your lover
Theres always another married man
The world is full of married men
Oh yeah you make him feel so young
But his wife will still be number one
He promises to marry you
Just as soon as his divorce
Comes through
And its not just a fling
He swears its the real thing
A love that could last till the end
As hes driving away
You know its true what they say
About married men
They do it, they do it, they do it
They do it again and again
They do it, they do it, they do it
They do it, married men
Oh hell run when the scandal
Gets too hot to handle
Hell say I just want to be friends
They hell walk out of your life
Hell go home to his wife
cause hes a married man
Oh your love is a secret
And youve got to keep it
As long as you can
No dont cry for your lover
Theres always another married man
The world is full of married men
They do it, they do it, they do it
They do it again and again
They do it, they do it, they do it
They do it, married men
Hell walk out of your life
And go home to his wife
A married man
Dont cry for your lover
Theres always another married man
They do it, they do it, they do it
They do it again and again
They do it, they do it, they do it
They do it, married men....repeat and fade

The Human Heart I (From he Holy Bible)

The human heart thinks evil all the time;
God's heart regretted for His making man;
Yet, He loved him most of creatures, He made;
He felt sorry from heart for His Deluge!

Man's heart longs for a wife as per his thoughts;
Pharaoh's heart hardened despite God's signs;
It does not yield to Moses' warning, threats,
And harden's more, when God gives him relief!

Man's heart hardens each time when God is kind;
Like Pharaoh, he fails to keep his promise;
He lapses back to sin when threats are gone;
Man's heart in remorse fills only when late!

God wants man's heart to stay most pure always;
The sound of a falling leaf can instill fear!
God wants man not to fulfill his heart's lusts;
Let heart fear God and keep all His commands!

Let hate and pride not grow and engulf heart;
God wants man to love Him with all his heart;
The Lord keeps testing man's heart to prove love;
Let heart not love the world, be led astray!

May heart of man worship the one true God;
Obey the Lord in everything He tells;
Rejoice by heart and render thanks to Him;
The God who changed Saul's heart, can all men's!

Will You Marry Me?

(p. lord / s. st. victor / v.j. smith / p. abdul)
Just girl to boy
I'd like to share this thought with you
Our love's a joy
Two one's have made inseparable two
Last night my heart spoke to me
And it said
You've found that lover-friend
So now i've finally got the courage
Just ask you baby ooh
Chorus:
Will you, will you
Will you marry me boy
Will you, will you
Will you marry me
Will you, will you
Will you marry me boy
Will you, will
Will you, will you, will you
Come on baby now
I lay awake
So full with hope of things to come
For heaven's sake
I pray i'm not the only one
I never dreamed i'd be so bold
I'm standing here, my heart's been sold
So now i've finally got the courage
Just ask you baby ooh
Chorus
Think of love as wings
Not a ball and chain
And your fear of things
Unnecessary
I only want to share your name
Share your name
Last night my heart spoke to me
And it said
You've found that lover-friend
So now i've finally got the courage
Just ask you baby ooh
Chorus
Maybe sunday
Come on monday
Baby any time this week
Get an old house
Find a back yard
Buy some flowers down street
Tell your mother
Tell your mother
Don't tell anyone at all
All we need is
Just the two of us
And ooh...

After the Golden Wedding (Three Soliloquies)

I. The husband's.

She's not a faultless woman; no!
She's not an angel in disguise:
She has her rivals here below:
She's not an unexampled prize:

She does not always see the point
Of little jests her husband makes:
And, when the world is out of joint,
She makes a hundred small mistakes:

She's not a miracle of tact:
Her temper's not the best I know:
She's got her little faults in fact,
Although I never tell her so.

But this, my wife, is why I hold you
As good a wife as ever stepped,
And why I meant it when I told you
How cordially our feast I kept:

You've lived with me these fifty years,
And all the time you loved me dearly:
I may have given you cause for tears:
I may have acted rather queerly.

I ceased to love you long ago:
I loved another for a season:
As time went on I came to know
Your worth, my wife: and saw the reason

Why such a wife as you have been
Is more than worth the world beside;
You loved me all the time, my Queen;
You couldn't help it if you tried.

You loved me as I once loved you,
As each loved each beside the altar:
And whatsoever I might do,
Your loyal heart could never falter.

And, if you sometimes fail me, sweetest,
And don't appreciate me, dear,
No matter: such defects are meetest
For poor humanity, I fear.

And all's forgiven, all's forgot,
On this our golden wedding day;
For, see! she loves me: does she not?
So let the world e'en go its way.

I'm old and nearly useless now,
Each day a greater weakling proves me:
There's compensation anyhow:
I still possess a wife that loves me.

2. The wife's.

Dear worthy husband! good old man!
Fit hero of a golden marriage:
I'll show towards you, if I can,
And absolutely wifely carriage.

The months or years which your career
May still comprise before you perish,
Shall serve to prove that I, my dear,
Can honour, and obey, and cherish.

Till death us part, as soon he must,
(And you, my dear, should shew the way)
I hope you'll always find me just
The same as on our wedding day.

I never loved you, dearest: never!
Let that be clearly understood:
I thought you good, and rather clever,
And found you really rather good.

And, what was more, I loved another,
But couldn't get him: well, but, then
You're just as bad, my erring brother,
You most impeccable of men:--

Except for this: my love was married
Some weeks before I married you:
While you, my amorous dawdler, tarried
Till we'd been wed a year or two.

You loved me at our wedding: I
Loved some one else: and after that
I never cast a loving eye
On others: you -- well, tit for tat!

But after all I made you cheerful:
Your whims I've humoured: saw the point
Of all your jokes: grew duly tearful,
When you were sad, yet chose the joint

You liked the best of all for dinner,
And soothed you in your hours of woe:
Although a miserable sinner,
I am a good wife, as wives go.

I bore with you and took your side,
And kept my temper all the time:
I never flirted; never cried,
No ranked it as a heinous crime,

When you preferred another lady,
Or used improper words to me,
Or told a story more than shady,
Or snored and snorted after tea,

Or otherwise gave proofs of being
A dull and rather vain old man:
I still succeeded in agreeing
With all you said, (the safest plan),

Yet always strove my point to carry,
And make you do as I desired:
I'm glad my people made me marry!
They hit on just what I required.

Had love been wanted - well, I couldn't
Have given what I'd not to give;
Or had a genius asked me! wouldn't
The man have suffered? now, we live

Among our estimable neighbours
A decent and decorous life:
I've earned by my protracted labours
The title of a model wife.

But when beneath the turf you're sleeping,
And I'm sitting here in black,
Engaged, as they'll suppose, in weeping,
I shall not wish to have you back.

3. The Vicar's.

A good old couple! kind and wise!
And oh! what love for one another!
They've won, those two, life's highest prize,
Oh! let us copy them, my brother.

Verses Wrought

I do not know just how or when, God will send something to my pen,
From something that's on my heart, a thought God desires to impart,
Throughout my day, just as I go, thoughts from above seem to flow,
While I begin with simply a thought, by The Spirit verses are wrought.

It is The Lord God, Who blesses me, with these verses, that you see,
As these words that I pass along; the credit for all, does truly belong,
To The Lord God, Who reigns above, inspiring the verses, I speak of,
These very words, which I pen, that God has me share with other men.

God pens verses from my prose, through ways only The Spirit knows,
This when God's Spirit is inclined, to guide these thoughts in my mind,
In ways which only The Spirit can, as my Lord fills just an ordinary pen,
God blessing me, with His choice, to use my pen, instead of my voice.

Blessings, I hope to pass your way, with verses, on what I have to say,
As The Lord moves upon my heart, regarding thoughts I wish to impart,
From my thoughts God takes words, and He compiles them into verse,
Through ways that only God can do, so that I may share them with you.

Sharing with many through my life, the Truth and Grace of Jesus Christ,
Sharing Truths, you may have heard, that you find in God's Holy Word,
And Grace, which God bestows on us, when we follow The Lord Jesus,
All this as my Savior blesses me, while He guides me home to Eternity.

A Few Things on Life

Life is something that can overwhelm you,
but if you are a fighter it will never drown you.

I have never been the type of person to be filled with anger,
but if your head is not in the right place your heart will fill it for you.

There is no place for anger it only hurts you and hurts another, Righteous anger is only for those who deserve it from a hardened heart.

Love withheld is like an arrow directly to the heart, and when you have something so good you know that you never want to lose it, than play carefully and never hold back.

Be careful to guard your heart for it is the well-spring of life. You never know who is out for no good and only a rarity for those who will keep it true.

Jesus is the only one who will never leave you nor forsake you, and He will always love you no matter which way your life leads.

Keep Him close and let Him be your mentor, and all else will become simple. What was once hard will become easy through a change of heart.

Father change my heart and lead me in your ways, my ways have only brought sorrow and destruction to your most holy name.

When will the sick sorrowful ways of my earthly pleasure fade away, leaving a bright light through the darkness of your all captivating love and everlasting fruitfulness.

Oh Holy Spirit with your guiding light, light my path I am done with darkness, I have re-crucified my life with Christ and I now live in Him, His pleasure and His love!

Just wait a little longer

I came so close to breaking down,
so close to losing it all.
I never thought that this I'd say,
But please catch me when I fall.

For so long I've been running away,
afraid to face my fears.
And now you've come and picked me up,
and wiped away my tears.

If only you could see,
just how far I've come.
The person I used to be,
and the person standing here...right now.

So could you wait a little longer,
for the sorry I wish to say.
For only you could ever know,
how much it hurts this way.

I thought I kept it still,
locked up and hidden far.
And yet you come and pry my heart out,
open to you as the sun.

Many nights you've seen me,
at my very worst.
And yet you love me all the same,
Filling my heart till it bursts

If only you could see,
just how far I've come.
The person I used to be,
and the person standing here...right now.

(I meant this as a song, but it can go both ways :)

Bible in Poetry: 1 Corinthians 7

Marriage:

1’Tis good for man, not to marry.
2 With so much immorality,
Each man should have his own, one wife,
And each woman, own, one husband.
3 The husband should fulfill to wife,
His marital duty always;
And likewise, wife to her husband.
4 Wife's body doesn’t belong to her
Alone, but to her husband too.
In the same way, husband's body
Does not belong to him alone
But also to his wife as well.
5 Do not deprive each other then,
Except by mutual consent and
For just sometime, so that you may
Devote yourselves to some prayer.
Then come again together for
As Satan will not tempt you for
Your lack of self-control in life.
6 I say this as a concession,
And this is not a command then.
7 I wish all men were as I am.
Each man has his own gift from God;
One has this gift, another, that.
8 Now to unmarried and widows:
’Tis good to stay unmarried too.
9 If they can’t control themselves then,
’Tis better they should get married
Than, burn with passion in your life.
10 Lord’s command to the married ones:
A wife must not separate from husband.
11 But if she does, she must stay unmarried,
Or else be reconciled to her husband.
A husband mustn’t divorce his wife.

12 To rest I say (I, not the Lord) :

If any brother has a wife,
Who isn’t a believer but then,
She is willing to live with him,
He must not divorce her, as yet.
13 And if a woman has husband,
Who isn’t a believer as yet,
But is willing to live with her,
She must not divorce him as well.
14 For the unbelieving husband
Has been sanctified through his wife,
And the unbelieving wife too,
Has been sanctified through husband.
If not, your children wouldn’t be clean,
But as it is, they are holy.
15 But if the unbeliever leaves,
Then, let him do so anyway.
Believing man or woman is
Not bound in such circumstances;
For, God has called to live in peace.
16 How do you know, wife, whether you’ll
Save your husband anyway then?
Or, how do you know, husband then,
If you will save your wife surely?
17 Each one should hold the place in life
That Lord assigned to him on earth,
And to which the Lord has called him.
This rule I give to all churches.
18 Was man circumcised when he’as called?
He shouldn’t become uncircumcised.
Was man uncircumcised when called?
He should not be circumcised.
19 Circumcision is nothing then,
Uncircumcision is too naught.
To keep God's commands is what counts.
20 One should remain in situation,
In which he was, when God called him.
21 Were you a slave when you were called?
Don't let it trouble you at all—
If you can become free, do so.
22 For he who was a slave when called
By Lord is the Lord's freed man then;
Similarly, he who was free,
When he was called is slave of Christ.
23 For you were all bought at a price;
Do not become then slaves of men.
24 Each man, responsible to God,
Should stay in place, God called him to.

25 So now, something about virgins:

I have no command from the Lord,
I give a judgment as one who
By Lord's mercy is trustworthy.
26 Because of the present crisis,
’Tis good to remain as you are.
27 Are you married? Don’t seek divorce.
Are you unmarried? Don’t search spouse.
28 If you do marry, you haven’t sinned;
If virgin marries, she hasn’t sinned.
But those who marry, face troubles,
And I want you to escape this.
29 So what I mean is time is short.
From now onwards, those who have wives
Should live as if they didn’t have one.
30 And those who mourn, as if they didn’t;
And those happy, as if they weren’t;
And those who buy, as if it were not theirs;
31 And those who use the things of world,
As if they weren’t engrossed in them.
This world today is passing out.
32 Be free from concern anyway.
An unmarried man thinks of Lord's affairs—
How much more he can please the Lord.
33 A married man thinks of affairs of world—
How he can please his wife only—
34 His interests are divided.
An unmarried woman, virgin
Is concerned of the Lord's affairs:
She aims to devote to the Lord
In both her body and spirit.
A married woman is concerned
About the affairs of this world—
How she can please her husband then.
35 I’m saying this for your own good,
Not restrict you, but make you live
In total devotion to Lord.
36 If one thinks that he is acting
Improperly to the virgin,
He has been engaged to ahead,
And she is getting old in years,
And he feels that he must marry,
He should do as he wishes then.
He doesn’t sin. They should get married.
37 But man who has settled then well
The matter in his mind clearly,
And is under no compulsion
But has control over his will,
And who has made up in his mind
Not to marry the virgin still—
This man is doing the right thing.
38 So, he who marries the virgin does right,
But he who doesn’t marry, does ev’n better.
39 As long as he lives, a woman,
Is bound to her husband alone.
But if her husband dies, she’s free
To marry one, she wishes to,
But he must belong to the Lord.
40 She’s happier if she stays as she is—
And I do think I too have God’s Spirit.

To My Dear Wife, Mercy, On Our 21st Marriage Anniversary

Twenty one years of married life
Have rolled off rather peacefully,
Although marred by some kind of strife,
In the twenty first century!

Life did not go on like our dreams;
But it was worthwhile and lovely;
It couldn’t give smiles or laughter beams,
But stood the test of time surely!

It could have been better than this,
Had we planned it accordingly?
It gave us woes more than the bliss;
Let’s hope the future is merry!

We had our times of happiness;
We had our days of anxiety;
God gave us light amidst darkness;
We toiled our way up righteously!

Let’s count our blessings, grace of God;
Let’s move ahead with hope and love;
Life’s numbers are even and odd;
’Tis time we thought of God above!

The days we passed were fairly good;
We may have failed in some ways still;
We dressed well, ate such dainty food;
We rarely fell seriously ill!

Life cannot happen as we want;
Some changes, we can always make;
Praises to God, let’s sing and chant;
We ate but have still our life’s cake!

Yet, God was kind often to us;
Our children are our wealth real;
From now on, there is no more fuss;
The Giver will our heart-wounds heal!

So, cheer up lady, my dear wife!
Not once did we have chance to cry;
More joy will rain in future life;
Together, we will live and die!

Best Of the Rest [Collaboration with Stembeni Moyo]

Among them all,
You have proved to be the best,
Your touch so warm and tender,
Your presence so electrifying,
To see you again I always anticipated
Among them all
You have proved to be the best

Among them all,
Perfection beyond reasonable doubt,
The silence that comes across,
Your breath so close and pure,
Your absence so painful and hurting,
And to meet again I always cogitated
Above them all,
I will always make you come first

To always hear, never fear
Always there to wipe a tear
In my heart you are so dear
Losing you, I cannot bear
To share and to care
This I promise
Among them all,
You have proved to be the best

To always love and be sincere,
Always there to stay so near
In my heart I have no fear
Having you I always desire
To love and admire
This I cherish,
Among them all,
I will always make you come first
