Description Of A Lost Friend
FROM THE MORNING POST.
LOST--near the 'Change in the city,
(I saw there a girl that seemed pretty)
'Joe Steel,' a short, cross-looking varlet,
With a visage as red as scarlet:
His nose and chin of a hue
Approaching nearly to blue:
With legs just the length, and no more,
That will trot him from door to door;
And a most capacious paunch,
Fed with many a venison haunch.
Whoever will bring the same
To a tailor's of the name
Of Patterson, Watson, and Co.,
Shall receive a guinea or so.
And that all may understand,
And bring him safe to hand,
I subjoin as well as I can,
The character of the man.
He's a grumpy sort of a fellow,
Till liquor has made him mellow;
The sort of man who never
Wishes your guests to be clever,
When he's asked to come and dine,
But only wants his wine.
He is but a stupid ass,
Even when he's filled his glass,
And emptied it too, a dozen
Times, with some civil cousin.
I don't remember his saying
Aught, that meant more than braying.
We met and we talked together
Of politics and the weather,
Of the taxes and the king,
And that silly sort of thing;
But he never would give an opinion
As to the sort of dominion
He should like to live under, if we
To think of such things were free.
He said it was all speculation,
More harm than good to the nation.
He wouldn't abuse the Commons;
Nor admire a pretty woman's
Ancle, that tripped thro' the park
When it wasn't light or dark.
Laugh at him--he turned sour;
Talk gravely--his brow would lower.
Sometimes he wished to grow fat,
(I'm sure it was needless, that)
When he was over-fed,
Or out of spirits, he said.
Sometimes he wished to be thin,
(When he poured fresh spirits in.)
But he never, when we were alone,
Said any thing new of his own.
The merrier you were, the more
He grumbled, and fumed, and swore;
The happier you were, the less
He cared for your happiness.
We never agreed for a day,
Except when one was away.
And meeting too often of late,
It was my peculiar fate
To say something bitter and bad
About wives being not to be had,
When a batchelor got a red nose,
And his short legs were shrunk in his hose--
It was witty; but cost me my friend:
For, being too late to amend,
He took it amiss that I
The defects of his form should spy.
Perchance he had borne a few jeers
On the purple hue of his ears,
But to say that his legs were small!
Oh! his heart's blood was turned to gall.
So leaving his bottle, he swore
That he never would enter my door.
And I chuckled within my own heart,
Snapped my fingers, and saw him depart,
But, alas! now I've lost him, I find
There was no one so much to my mind.
I have now got a good-tempered fellow,
But he tells me my face is grown yellow.
I've got a new friend that is clever,
But he's brewing his good things for ever:
Another, who talks at a rate
That is frightful, of church and of state,
And never will give in a jot,
Tho' you reason and bawl till you're hot:
Another--but why should I bring
Of friends, as of onions, a string
To my dinners, except that I feel
No number can make a Joe Steel!
When they're lively, I think it a bore;
When they're silent, I miss him the more.
I miss him when I would recall
Some fact of my youth to them all.
Not one of my friends seems to care
If I once had a head of black hair--
Not one of them seems to believe
How the pretty girls once used to grieve
When they missed me amongst them,--Oh! no,
I can have no friend equal to Joe!--
I miss his round, red, surly face--
I miss his short legs from their place--
I miss him--I'm growing quite sad;
I think my old port is turned bad--
I miss him, and draw this conclusion,
(Tho' others may think it delusion)
That, with all their worst faults at their back,
(And I'm sure poor Joe Steel had a pack)
Tho' they never can alter or mend;
There's no friend like a very old friend!

Miss That Girl
(kenny mims/jeff pennig)
(track 2 - time 3:00)
Cold gray dawn, steel blue day sunset rust tonight
Its the same old picture to a love struck man
Whos suddenly seen the light
And I miss that girl
Yeah I miss that girl
I guess I moved too slow and thought too fast
And lost what might have been
Now I face the pain of a wounded heart
Dyin to try again
But I missed my chance and now shes gone
Lifes too short and the odds too long to miss that girl
Well I miss that kiss and I miss that smile
A miss like this is a million miles
And I miss that girl
Yeah I miss that girl
Sometimes I hear that voice and see those eyes
And I remember when those arms were open wide
Its like I missed the phone by half a ring
I missed the point of this whole dang thing
And I miss that girl
Yeah I miss that kiss and I miss that smile
A miss like this is a million miles
And I miss that girl
Oh I miss that girl
Yeah I miss that kiss and I miss that smile
A miss like this is a million miles
And I miss that girl
Oh I miss that girl
Oh I miss that girl

The Kiss I Miss
The kiss I miss was intense
The Kiss I miss with my friend
The Kiss I miss was the best for it was a kiss betwewen you and me
My Friend
I know we are just friends
But that kiss I miss
In my mind never comes to an end
Where do we go from here?
Do we become more or just remain friends?
I want more than one kiss
I want a lifetime of love and joy
with you my friend
For the kiss will never end For it's a kiss to a new begin
The Kiss I miss
was special
Because it was with you
The taste of your lips keeps my sky blue
It's you I miss for I need a kiss To show me impossible is a myth and all good dont come to an end only if you let them my lovely friend
Things I Miss The Most
I don't mind the quiet
Or the lonely nights
I don't miss the funky attitudes
And I don't miss the fights
I lie on the couch 'til suppertime
And hunker down and read the Post
And that's when I remember the things I miss the most:
The talk
The sex
Somebody to trust
The Audi TT
The house on the Vineyard
The house on the Gulf Coast
These are the things I miss the most
I kinda like frying up
My sad cuisine
Getting in bed and curling up with a girlie magazine
Sometimes in the corner of my eye
I see that adorable ghost
And then ba-boom I remember the things I miss the most
The talk
The sex
Somebody to trust
The comfy Eames chair
The good copper pans
The '54 Strat
These are the things I miss the most
I had a little birdy friend
By morning she was gone
Birdie good-bye
Birdie bye bye
I'm learning how to meditate
So far so good
I'm building the Andrea Doria out of balsa wood
The days really don't last forever
But it's getting pretty damn close
And that's when I remember the things I miss the most
The talk
The sex
Somebody to trust
The Audi TT
The house on the Vineyard
The house on the Gulf Coast
These are the things I miss the most

I Love You
Ohhhhh
(chorus)
All those pretty memories,
I know you can hear me now
For the record,
I love you, I love you
(repeat)
(vs.1)
When I found out that you were leaving me,
I coudnt sleep thinking about
All the things that weve been through
Now all that I want to do
Is tell you that i, (I)
Miss you...so much...
(you know I really really miss you...)
(chorus)
(vs.2)
Now that Im on my own
I know that in time Ill find somebody new
(wholl treat me better than you)
So Ill go all alone without you
But I still love you
You know Ill never live without you
(chorus)
I wish youd change your ways soon enough
So we can be together
You just dont understand good enough
But now all we have is memories...
(chorus)
Memories we shared
No one else could compare
Ohh, I miss you, I miss you
Oh I miss you
...of the way we used to be,
Oh, those pretty memories
Oh.......
I miss you...
I miss you...
Oh, I miss you...
Ohh...

I Have A Friend
I have a friend who cannot walk
I have a friend all he does is talk
I have a friend, Philippe is his name
I have a friend and we are just the same
I have a friend he’s seventeen years old
I have a friend who has a heart of gold
I have a friend who would catch me if I fall
It is only that he has no legs at all
I have a friend and when my friend was seven
A car ran over him and he almost went to heaven
I have a friend with a smile that I adore
I have a friend who lives in a house of four
I have a friend his family is his home
I have a friend who dreams of visiting Rome
I have a friend who is still finishing school
Yet some people tell him that for that he is a fool
I have a friend they say he is disabled
He has no legs and for that he is labeled
I have a friend who has a friend
They were made for each other; their love will never end
I have a friend who likes to name the stars
I have a friend and what he hates is cars
I have a friend who’s happier than you and me
I have a friend who’s shown me how happy I can be
I have a friend who’s had his bad times too
I have a friend who’s better than me and you
I have a friend so dear to me and kind
That another one like him I shall never find!

I Miss You! ! !
I miss you so much,
Its almost been a year with out you here,
Why did you have to go like that,
Why did you left me here to suffer with out you here,
You were my best friend,
A friend that taught me how to skateboard,
A friend that always smiled through his roughest time,
A friend I can rely on,
Every time when I hang out with our old friends I think of you how we used to toke it up and how we used to party,
I miss those days,
I miss how you smiled and always cracked a joke,
I miss us driving around sky line to toke it up,
You were my best friend and I’ll always forever miss you,
May you R.I.P I miss you Andrew.

The Little Things
You never send me flowers
Or ever buy me candy
You never bring me pretty things
When you come to see me
And you forgot my birthday
Oh I wish you could see
How I miss
The little things
That you dont do for me
You never say that I look nice
Or that youre proud of me
You overlook
The little things
That you should see
These little things are big enough to hurt
But too small to make me want to leave
But I do miss
The little things
That you dont do for me
Now how can I miss flowers
That never reach my door
How can I taste candy
Thats still at the candy store
These little things mean a lot to me
To you they may be silly
But I do miss
The little things
That you dont do for me
Yes I miss
The little things
That you dont do for me

Uh, this go out to my dog Kato
Rest in peace baby, it's a K thing
Dogs that I call my friends
Prayin for all my friends
Things I do for my friends
We miss you! Aiyyo Kato!
We started off, two dogs with the same goals (uh)
Nothin but two dogs walkin the same roads (uh)
Two different cultures, but had the same heart (yeah)
Enjoyed seeing the light, but lived in the dark
Dipped out and bumped heads in the parking lot (aight)
It was a quiet brother, didn't like to bark a lot
Came through wreck (uh), when he came, gained respect
So I gave respect (uh), we shared, the same respect
Two names to rep in our own circles (what)
Two brothers with good hearts
But if you start, two bothers that'll hurt you (yeah)
Know how that dirt do, hittin for quarters
Arf arf arf arf! Right back on orders
Guys tried to warn us, but sometimes we don't wanna see
When I first heard, I'm like, this can't be!
Y'all niggaz is buggin, got the wrong information or somethin
Please tell me that these niggaz is frontin! God, no
Dogs that I call my friends, prayin for all my friends

Dogs that I call my friends, prayin for all my friends (We miss you Kato)
Things I do for my friends, we miss you! Aiyyo Kato! (We miss you Kato)
Yo K, let me kick it with you for a minute
It was things left unsaid, dog, we wasn't finished
Never got to say thank you for being a friend
Dogs for life, and you, rolled til the end
Held dog down, didn't let a day go by
Every time dog came to the shy (what) - I was good
Trips out to fendis, with the scramblin squad
If I come back to Phoenix, like, damn it's hard
To accept the fact (uh) that you won't be comin back (uh)
But I hope he comin back (uh), cause I won't accept the fact (uh)
When you came to New York, you had to come to the crib
And vice versa (yeah), that's just how we did
Remote-control cars, what! We would race all day
It was adventure we would chase all day (yeah)
So I'm not gonna say goodbye, my nigga (uh-uh)
Instead I would rather (rather)
Focus on the time we spent together, dat's what matters (for real)
Dogs that I call my friends, prayin for all my friends
Things I do for my friends, we miss you! Aiyyo Kato! (We miss you Kato)
Dogs that I call my friends, prayin for all my friends (We miss you Kato)
Things I do for my friends, we miss you! Aiyyo Kato! (We miss you Kato)
I need you save me a spot, nigga, next to you and the Lord (aight)
I don't know when I'm comin, but keep checkin the door (aight)
But while I'm here, knock on wood
I'll make sure your kids remember who their father was, and thou is good
(Aigh) Understood how real niggaz move, we don't talk
But you always gonna have family in New York, believe that (yeah)
And where you at, you can see that
We dogs for life and in death, and I mean that, vato
Dogs that I call my friends, prayin for all my friends
Things I do for my friends, we miss you! Aiyyo Kato! (We miss you Kato)
Dogs that I call my friends, prayin for all my friends (We miss you Kato)
Things I do for my friends, we miss you! Aiyyo Kato! (We miss you Kato)
Yo, Where The Hood At is bangin right now man
That was your favorite joint, knahmean (We miss you Kato)
It's goin just like we thought it would baby
(We miss you Kato) Yeah (We miss you Kato)

New York Woman
It was getting dark in a snow-covered park,
I thought I saw you smiling.
You left town to marry a texas millionaire,
I wonder how you are doing.
You were a new york woman,
New york woman,
New york woman,
I love you.
I heard him on the air discussing world affairs,
And something about his global vision.
Thats when I wondered if you made the right decision,
I want to know what youre thinking.
You were a new york woman,
New york woman,
New york woman,
I miss you.
You were a new york woman,
New york woman,
New york woman,
I miss you.
I miss you,
I miss you,
I miss you,
I miss you, my friend.
I miss you,
Oh, I miss you,

Oh, I miss you.

I Miss You So Much
I miss you
i just wish you would come back to
me that i could just see you one more time
that i could just sing you one more rhyme
that i could just talk to once more
that my heart wouldn't be so sore
why have you forsaken me so
we could take things slow
just come back
i miss you so much don't force me to pack
my things and come after you
i can only wish that you miss me too
that this isn't only one sided
but even if it is i just want you back
i dont want us to be divided
ill be with your friend, lover, or boyfriend whichever you lack
no matter what i am to you i miss you and i need you once more
please come back i miss you so get this message let my heart soar
and be with me one more time for the rest of time

I miss u
I miss u in the mirror as it does not reflect u in my eyes
I miss u in my arm when I feel I am alone in the shades
I miss u when a girl shys
I miss u when a bird flies
I miss u when rain starts toopur toopur
I miss u when I heard leafs mutter
I miss u seeing a purple saree
I miss u seeing a talking eye
I miss u in a pic standing like a queen
I miss u serving a chat for u and me
I miss u in my arms
I miss u in my nights
I miss u when oggy runs after cockroaches
I miss u when bacardi and bear flashes
I miss u in the late night thinking of the old times
I miss u searching for help on new reciepies
I miss u when I see the phone ringing but its not a call of yours
I miss u when I try to call u but cut it as u r busy in urs
I miss u in facebook
I miss u in every book

To Damian Who Buried His Dog 'Miss
He buried poor old 'miss' in the backyard
And on her shovelled earth he swallowed hard
And struggled just to keep the tears at bay
And this for him perhaps his saddest day.
She was his friend and canine friends are true
And your dog up to the end will stick by you
Your dog will always be your faithful mate
And wag her tail and greet you at the gate.
And 'Miss' to damian was a faithful friend
She stuck by him up to the very end
Her balance poor her eyes with age grown dim
But to the very end she stuck by him.
A drive in car, fetch stick or chase a ball
Some of the things she enjoyed most of all
Till age came too soon and wore each bodily part
Still miss was always a young dog at heart.
I like 'blue heelers' they are good enough
And they don't mind it when the going gets tough
And Miss the heeler to her breed was true
And she was faithful to her master too.
To save her further suffering he had her put to rest
And he only did for his dog what was best
And he buried her in her old stomping ground
Where as a pup she barked and played around.
A dog is just a dog some people say
Whilst others see things in a different way
And some even treat their dog as family
'You kick my dog you may as well kick me'.
Today poor Damian buried an old friend
And she was faithful to him till the end
It's hard so very hard to say goodbye
But memories live on memories never die.

I Miss You Mom
I miss you mom I miss your laugh I miss the talks we had
I miss the feeling that everything isn't so bad
I hear your voice I remember those light blue eyes
I need you mom and all I have is what's memorized
What is one to do
When all is lost and so are you
Yea at times I talk to you but I still feel this deep despair
Especially when the world around me is just me looking in the mirror
You were there for a moment then gone like a dream with no end
Left to figure out what happens next and if I'll ever see you again
I miss you mom

Look at this photograph
Everytime I do it makes me laugh
How did our eyes get so red
And what the hell is on Joey's head
And this is where I grew up
I think the present owner fixed it up
I never knew we'd ever went without
The second floor is hard for sneaking out
And this is where I went to school
Most of the time had better things to do
Criminal record says I broke in twice
I must have done it half a dozen times
I wonder if it's too late
Should i go back and try to graduate
Life's better now than it was back then
If I was them I wouldn't let me in
Oh, oh, oh
Oh, god, I
Every memory of looking out the back door
I had the photo album spread out on my bedroom floor
It's hard to say it, time to say it
Goodbye, goodbye.
Every memory of walking out the front door
I found the photo of the friend that I was looking for
It's hard to say it, time to say it
Goodbye, goodbye.
Remember the old arcade
Blew every dollar that we ever made
The cops hated us hangin' out
They say somebody went and burned it down
We used to listen to the radio
And sing along with every song we know
We said someday we'd find out how it feels
To sing to more than just the steering wheel
Kim's the first girl I kissed
I was so nervous that I nearly missed
She's had a couple of kids since then
I haven't seen her since god knows when
Oh, oh, oh
Oh, god, I
Every memory of looking out the back door
I had the photo album spread out on my bedroom floor
It's hard to say it, time to say it
Goodbye, goodbye.
Every memory of walking out the front door
I found the photo of the friend that I was looking for
It's hard to say it, time to say it
Goodbye, goodbye.
I miss that town
I miss the faces
You can't erase
You can't replace it
I miss it now
I can't believe it
So hard to stay
Too hard to leave it
If I could I relive those days
I know the one thing that would never change
Every memory of looking out the back door
I had the photo album spread out on my bedroom floor
It's hard to say it, time to say it
Goodbye, goodbye.
Every memory of walking out the front door
I found the photo of the friend that I was looking for
It's hard to say it, time to say it
Goodbye, goodbye.

I Will Never Forget You
When I went to same school with you, it was fun being in same class with you and becoming friends
Although we barely talk alot, I enjoy seeing you
You are so quiet and shy
I still miss you
I will never forget you
When I left to move back here
When things that bring back memories about you, I feel sad and want to cry
I feel bad for what I did to make us not friend anymore
If I could go there I would fixed it
You make me very happy on the Valentines Day
I got wrong signals that you like me more than a friend
You did it because you want to know how you felt about me
I will never forget you
You are the guy will never meant to hurt me
When I listen to my favorite songs, it bring back memories about you
It's hard to forget you
I can't move on no matter what I tried and accept you like a friend
I can't, and I want you be my boyfriend, but I can't force you to
I will never forget you
I had so many good memories
I will always feel sad when I heard your name or sad song that remind me of you
Although we are in different city
Is just that apart of me is still over there, and
Part of me is just wishing you were here with me
It will never be the same
I will never forget you
You were one of kind
When this feeling happen, I just to hold it in
I want to be by myself and think
There's nothing I can't do
I had to leave it alone and live my life
I want to show you that I can be a better friend
It was is and leave at that
We both are in good place right now
It fun while it last
I will never forgot you

I Miss My Baby
(Cyndi Lauper, Jan Pulsford)
Come to mama 'cause you know
Ba, ba, ba, ba, ba
In the middle of the night
When the last sheep jumps through my head
Why shut out the light?
When I know I'm gonna wake up again
In crumpled sheets
There is no silhouette
To the sight of me
It's much to cold in this bed
Oooooohhhh,
I miss my baby
Oooooohhhh,
I miss my baby
Oooooohhhh,
I miss my baby
Oooooohhhh,
I miss my baby
Ba, ba, ba, ba, ba
I turn on my side
And I can hear myself breathe
It's pretty quiet outside
I miss the sound of you next to me
When you talk in your sleep
And you mention my name
I close my eyes to remember
But it's just not the same
Oooooohhhh
I miss my baby
Oooooohhhh
I miss my baby
Oooooohhhh (Ooh, I miss him)
I miss my baby
Oooooohhhh (in the middle of the night)
I miss my baby
Can't pet your head all with the covers to your chin
And watch you kick them off again
Can't watch you sleep in the light
From the slit in the door
And what I can't have
It makes me want it even more
It makes me want it even more
Ba, ba, ba, ba
Oooooohhhh
I miss my baby
Oooooohhhh
I miss my baby
Oooooohhhh (in the middle of the night)
I miss my baby (in the broad daylight)
Oooooohhhh (oh, I miss you)
I miss my baby
Oooooohhhh (oh, I miss you, miss you)
I miss my baby
Oooooohhhh (in the middle of the night)
I miss my baby
Oooooohhhh (gonna kiss you)
I miss my baby
Oooooohhhh (in the broad daylight)
I miss my baby
