Mirror

Swimming in a Cornish sea -
Porpoises! (not Cornish) . a little way from me.
How far?
How far from splashing foot to streamlined tail?

Following the brain down its mazy trail -
thirty yards? a million years?
Too far? Not far enough?

But eye to eye
(inner eye to inner eye)
it's not so far
from grain of sand to spinning star.

Here wave is sea
and sea is wave once more,
no them no me,
a timeless beating on a timeless shore.

What a place to be alone
(alone with one's friends)
in such a busy, splashing sea;
alone with all the world
(and you and me) .

Wave Of Mutilation

Cease to resist, giving my goodbye
Drive my car into the ocean
Youll think Im dead, but I sail away
On a wave of mutilation
A wave
Wave
Ive kissed mermaids, rode the el nino
Walked the sand with the crustaceans
Could find my way to mariana
On a wave of mutilation,
Wave of mutilation
Wave of mutilation
Wave
Wave of mutilation
Wave

Ocean Flow

Wave, and wave, and wave and current,
The sea keeps going and turning and churning.
From the currents to the waves, to the waves,
One to another, it flows, it flows.

Eternally spinning, turning, churning,
All men caught up in the undertow.
All men swimming, and swimming, and swimming,
Eternally caught up in the ocean flow.

In water tray (dectina refrain)

Look
at the
bird splashing
in the water,
in clear rainwater,
bathing while slapping wings,
chattering telling others
how nice it is to be washing,
inviting them nearer, splashing them wet.
Look at the bird splashing in the water.

Drowning The Colossus

What are you? I say to me.
A privilege machine man in the valley of the ice house.
Yeah? Joke so old that it is new.
Cause the innocent they know thier place.
In this slug motion dinosaur. Skin beating heart breathing.
Eyes humming. Walls splashing.
Blue blood spits from the Butcherboy.
Just split the head and stand back.
Out of the chaos comes a reason whipcord yea!!
Hell on Earth a semi-trane. Exression of pre-occupation skin beating.
Heart breathing. Eyes splashing. Walls humming.
Soul Crushing. Soul Crushing.

Lost At Sea

Can we try to salvage what we can
From the weight of water and sand
And lifts us up again
Well this world is spinning out of control
Im bracing just to keep hold
As the clouds move in
With a driving wind so strong
Could it be that were lost at sea
And were drowning under the stars
Up to me I would ride this wave
Before we drift too far
What a lonely way to be
Lost at sea
Like a star in a night filled with tears
Make the sadness disappear
cause youre all that I hold dear
Well you walk
Never ever looking back
One defends and one attacks
Theres a thousand reasons to begin again
Could it be that were lost at sea
And were drowning under the stars
Up to me I would ride this wave
Before we drift too far
Take my hand, come to me
Save a life, rescue you, rescue me
Could it be that were lost at sea
And were drowning under the stars
Up to me I would ride this wave
Before we drift too far
Could it be that were lost at sea
And were drowning under the stars
Up to me I would ride this wave
Before we drift too far

Love Is The Seventh Wave

In the empire of the senses
Youre the queen of all you survey
All the cities all the nations
Everything that falls your way
There is a deeper wave than this
That you dont understand
There is a deeper wave than this
Tugging at your hand
Every ripple on the ocean
Every leaf on every tree
Every sand dune in the desert
Every power we never see
There is a deeper wave than this
Swelling in the world
There is a deeper wave than this
Listen to me girl
Feel it rising in the cities
Feel it sweeping over land
Over borders, over frontiers
Nothing will its power withstand
There is no deeper wave than this
Rising in the world
There is no deeper wave than this
Listen to me girl
All the bloodshed, all the anger
All the weapons, all the greed
All the armies, all the missiles
All the symbols of our fear
There is a deeper wave than this
Rising in the world
There is a deeper wave than this
Listen to me girl
At the still point of destruction
At the centre of the fury
All the angels, all the devils
All around us cant you see
There is a deeper wave than this
Rising in the land
There is a deeper wave than this
Nothing will withstand
I say love is the seventh wave

I wish I wish

I wish I was a bird flying high in the sky
Swooping and soaring way up high
Up and down mountains all on my own
Then back to my nest where I've made my home
I wish I could be the wind that blows
Where does it come from nobody knows
You would not see me as I travel around
You would only hear my whistling sound
I wish I was a wave in the deep blue sea
I'd travel around the world for free
Lapping at the shoreline
And splashing someone's knees
I wish I was a star up in the evening sky
Looking down on everyone as they passed by
I'd twinkle so bright all through the night
But when morning comes I'll vanish from sight
But I wish I wish can never be
It's only a dream for I am me
But now and again wishes do come true
Not very many but maybe a few.

The hollow world in me

in a line the light dances
in a passionate rush, crushes onto shore
chinese beauties
flailing their tulip white skirts
in their surge towards the audience
the roar and burst of bubbles
the applause of satiated spectators
another summer, another wave of humanity
burst onto sand that swishes at the feet
the waves refuse them to leave a trail
in their passionate walk
in a million ways the sea dances
patronising the stage of water and sand
from a distance the swishing sound of coconut leaves
laughter of mother and child, men
meld with the waves to remind of a world i unknowingly missed

Mermaid By The Sea

Little mermaid splashing in the sea,

swimming around as free as can be.

Letting the ocean’s wave’s float you to shore,

hoping to win the heart,

of a man who totally adores,

You; deep down to your soul.

Once he has his eyes on you,

he hears a sacred note,

totally mezmorized he crashes his boat.

Now he is all yours

for you have saved his life,

from the misery of his aloneness & mortal plight.

For he’s is sad and can’t express,

all his depressing thoughts of total unhappiness.

Now with you he see’s magic in your eyes,

finally hearing your sweet voice totally mezmorize,

all of the romantic thoughts he has

starts to spin in his head,

he offers you his hand so that you may wed.

Turning himself into a merman to be with you,

living in joy with both your hearts so true.

On The Shore

One child on the shore
With a stick on his hands
Writes on the sands
Some drawings

Playful
A wave comes and slides
On the shore
The drawings are gone

And a new slate is given
By the water that runs
That advances to him
And later surrenders to itself

Another young man
Draws a heart on the sand
Swearing a love eternal
All encompassing

A wave slides forth
And comes back pulling towards itself
A new slate is made again

The old man comes later
Writing his life story with a cane
The same wave comes again
Slides forth and pulls itself

An empty slate
Sand so smooth and blank and plain
Gleaming anew
To the blue skies

Everything looks playful,
Indeed. The sameness and the
Constant repetition. The cycle.
The monotony of life.

Proud American Soldier

Proud American Soldier
(God bless and keep safe our fighting men and women in harm’s way)

I fought beside my brothers, as they died on foreign shores,
I’m proud to say, we fought and slay, our enemies by the scores.

One by one, we fought and won, wars down through the ages,
The history books are written with our blood stains on the pages.

Our skin is many colors, we are women and we’re men,
We stand up to injustices no matter where or when.

I’m a Proud American Soldier, my job’s to keep us free,
I ply my timeless trade so far away, across the sea.

When others cringe and cower, you’ll find us standing tall,
We’ll remain steadfast until the last, of the evil tip and fall.

Come what may, get in our way, we’ll never cut and run,
We’ll stay our course, with no remorse and it ain’t always fun.

We’re the sailors that go out to sea, we’re the pilots in the sky,
We’re the grunts out in the fox holes, and we all know that men die.

I’m a Proud American Soldier, my job’s to keeps free,
I ply my timeless trade so far away, across the sea.

They spoke kindly of my enemies, the same day that I died,
Then burned my flag in protest, as my widow watched and cried.

But don’t you worry much my friends, nor shed a tear for me,
There’s more where I come from, to fight and keep you free.

Freedom isn’t free dear friends, we foot the bill in blood.
We die in the desert sand and in the jungle’s mud.

I’m a Proud American Soldier, my jobs to keep us free,
I ply my timeless trade so far away across the sea.
I may be just a soldier, but that’s just fine by me.

Timeless Voices

The timeless voices of our ancestors
and the wise men they did follow
ring through the centuries
with a wisdom we’ve forgotten.
Maybe if we learn to listen
we can put our world right.
They tell us not to take
more than we really need
not to destroy things
because we do not understand them,
feed the earth with our sweat
and grow a new tomorrow.
These words of wisdom
are carried on the wind
and listening to these timeless voices
will make us better
giving us our self-respect again.
Therefore, in the quiet moments
open our mind to what is around
and let the timeless voices in.

Working Metaphore

Work is like an island in an ocean of time
Landing on this shore felt like paradise
But the island is small and quickly grows boring
I am standing in the water, looking out as I work

Time passes in portions of half an hour
Wave upon wave of life slipping down the tide-line
I am deciding whether to let go and wash away with it
Or hold on and climb the beach again

How many islands are in this ocean?
I gaze out and see a few just waiting for me
Can I swim to them, will they take me?
In the water between them, is there love lurking?

Changes are on the horizon, as a tsunami
Rolling towards this island invisibly, towards me
None of the islands will survive it, I fear
Or maybe only I will be washed away into oblivion

Tick, splash, tick, splash, wave upon wave of half hours
Carrying me just a little further from the dry sand
Behind me, the managers are calling from the trees
I hesitate for a moment, and let the waves wash over me

Only a few more, and I can swim for a while,
I might ride the changes to a far away place if I'm swimming
In the water I can meet another, to drown my regrets of the last
The waves wash over me, and I wait for the tide to swim

Beba

ah beba you drive me crazy,
my brain disconnects from my senses
when i think of you and it takes me to a world of fantasies,
a world where i can be with you
and be happy in our own little beach house,
and in that world, when the night comes
the beach is all for the both of us,
and we make love on the sand
with waves splashing against our bare bodies,
and when we're done and lay next to each other
I look at you and tell you,
I love you,
and that's when i come back to my senses
and realize that
i've just said that outloud
in front of my whole class.

More Than?

more than speech reason

love contempt

A circuit of days

A round of drinks

A collection of letters

Words well said

More than a knee jerk reaction

An insidious reply

The automatic pen of an artist

A wave goodbye

Not waving but drowning?

A brain in a jar for arts sake

A fake tan a botoxed face

A stretch of words in a desert place

A name a place a star sign

More than a body in a bed

A closed eye

A doctrine on belief

An athiests reply

More than a grain of sand

A head full of dreams

A dandelion head blown into the wind

A particle of dust

A molecule of sky

More than, a you, an I

More than all imaginings

Oh what a piece of work is man

More, much more than this?

Liquid Sunlight

fire shines through my liquid sunlight
thoughts of those I love hurt my head
and with another gulp I'll wash them
down to stop them spinning me around
I smell the scent of your bitterness so sweet
caress your body, caressing my need
the colours of gold that you show me
bleed into seas I never see when you leave me in
liquid sunlight...
timeless I walk on a tight rope
timeless I'd fall timeless I hope
senseless my wonders and liquid is my dope
but sense is no wonder so sunlights my hope
so shine on with me you crazy diamond
you cover what's real cause you are my friend
we'll stagger outside, are we on a, are we on a flight?
my liquid sunlight shining inside
liquid sunlight...
don't ask me why I'm flying so high man
don't ask me why I'm living a lie
ask me where and why am I laying
under the sun as the night is aside
liquid sunlight
