Free At Last.
Free at last from the yolk of dept
Unlike the gambler who chooses to make another bet
In future before you sign, think, not so fast
Times gone you'd save, but that's in the past
Those offers that are too good to be true
Before long they've snared you
When your financial advisor makes it easy to get your cash
He'll slink away with glee as he increases his stash
No one held a gun to your head
You simply wanted some quick bread
Free at last, no more watching for each statement
No more counting each payment
After all these years of constant drip
With no chance of a payment to miss
The end is in sight and also your pain
So, in future, think and think again.

Good Times
Good times [3x]
Oh baby, Good times...
Good times- any time you need a payment
Good times- any time you feel free
Good times- any time you rock the mic
You're not getting hassled; not getting hustled
Keeping your head above water
Making a wave when you can
Taking every layoff
Good times
Easy way to rip off
Nipple buenos
Scratching + surviving
Good times
I hear you baby chime in
+ it's good times
Aint we lucky we got our good times?
This was a previously unreleased track that was put out on a Vagrant Records
compilation in '98.

Some Good Things Never Last
It's three in the morning
You're no were in sight
And all that I wanted was to be with you tonight
The love in your eyes
Is fading so fast
No matter how hard we try
Some good things never last
But what good is holding on
When you know
That all you can think about
Is letting go
They say if you love someone
Then set them free
If they come back again
Then in the end
It was meant to be
I thought we were lovers
I thought we were friends
I guess when reality steps in
It all depends
We live for the future
We learn from the past
No matter how hard we try
Some good things never last
When all you can think about
Is letting go
Be true to yourself my love
That's all I ever wanted you to be
Just don't forget to smile
When you think of me
I'll reach for the stars
I've got them in sight
There's someone who really needs me
Out there in the night
We live for the future
We learn from the past
No matter how hard we try
Some good things never last

No Voucher For You
Inspired by Lydon.
God save my bank
And its greedy regime,
They got all my cash
In their dirty stash.
God save my job!
There is a hungry mob,
They want to rob me,
Wanna outjob me.
You can tell 'em, mate, what you want
And you can tell 'em, mate, what you need –
There's no voucher – no voucher –
No voucher for you!
God save my tent –
I mean it, man!
The storm is coming,
Tent saves!
God save my wife,
My junk-food chef,
But I figure now,
For my problems she's deaf!
Again same history,
Another masquerade –
Life has left me behind
And all my friends are bribed!
With your future we can do anything,
You are searchin' where we've just been;
We're possessin' the future –
Your vouchers & your future!
God save my mind,
By all means now –
I've never dreamt
Of this!
God save my beer –
C'mon, beer, get near! –
There is no future
In near future!
No voucher for me,
No voucher for you.
Wrong future for you.

No Future, Too Much Past
When you have no future
You have to live in the past
A member of this human race
Who'll pass the finish line last.
The future, things to come
Nothing much except pain
The past, Times gone by
Nothing at all, just plenty of rain.
So disaster looms on every corner
Just waiting to leap out at you
You could take a different path
But it finds you whatever you do.
So the future and the past Are just one and the same
The first and second halves of a stupid bloody game
Impossible to win, Destined to lose
I should just give in and sink into the ooze.
And the future draws to a close
While the past increases in size
No future, too much past
And more loneliness, sadness and lies.

Future Is Promises
I saw him today at the station
There was something on his mind
I felt I was on the devils mission
Trying to steal him from a friend
I know it hurts you
And you cant ask why
I know it hurts you
Takes a train to cry
Your only future is promises
For so many years
Your only future is promises
I know you can make it if you try
Youve been living life in the past
Im gonna reach out Im gonna grab your heart
Youve been living life in the eyes of a stranger
Youve gotta free your mind
Cause I want to get nearer
Your only future is promises
For so many years
Your only future is promises
I know you can make it if you try
Take the chance and make the move
But dont think that I will approve
For once Ive finally realised
Being with her wasted your life
Your only future is promises
For so many years
Your only future is promises
I know you can make it if you try
Your only future is promises
For so many years
Your only future is promises

Constant Time
Time past and the future give way to this present picture,
But can somebody tell me how to recognize that gate that leads to the bed of roses,
We speak about the future like the past is a grain of sand on the shore,
Washed away by the ocean tide,
Giving way to new grains to make a portrait of the present,
These past memories stay deep in our heart like the depths of the ocean,
Though it gets washed back to shore ones in a blue moon,
Reminding us that our past is a standard measurement of our strength,
Time moves so fast making the past to fade away,
this makes us seem so secured about the present,
Forgetting the fact that our present becomes our past that was once a present from nature as a new day,
Some take the future to be a dream and a wish,
But I take my future to be what I see when I stand from the bottom of the mountain to look at the top,
And my past to be the depth of the ocean that can always be washed ashore …
The only thing I can control is my present,
Yes cos my mind controls my hands to give you a flash of what goes on in my head
Like this words i write to you was once my future and will become my past, making my future my past and my past my future..So ironical isn’t it?
Standing here I sure know 1 thing,
I will reach the top by that foot path,
Yes of course it’s not to mean that I wouldn’t fall,
But I have to break myself off my present past and walk with grace to stand where I belong,
There where I am the king of my destiny,
The past is just going to be a page of memories,
And my future will become my present making time constant in my head,
Because I stand on my past which was once my present and my present which was once my future, making time equal and constant
As I flip thru this page of life,

Moving Out
At the grocery store my mom and me
I tell her when Im seventeen Im free
She tells me its a mistake
And her heart breaks
I let her know I love her and its not her fault
She starts to walk away and I beg her to halt
You would do the same mom you know its true
I gave you your name what is there to prove?
Mom I cant deal with this like you can
Well you know Ill be there, Im your biggest fan
Thanks mom I love you, hope you understand
I look down at my little sister
I tell her I love her and ill miss her
Her tears fall as they become thicker
My heart melts and I feel sicker
You know ill visit babe, I wont leave forever
She says ill miss you alot, but its whatever
Her tears keep coming, so we hug and I start humming
Now im sitting in class
Thinking about my future affected by my past
I cant believe all the things that didnt last
My freedom is approaching fast
Im scared theres too much contrast
Living on my own seems too real
But does not change the way I feel
I know I can take this freedom and make it
Because my determination remains fit
The fire in my hopeful heart is lit
The past is simply what happened
My future is not yet at end
The future is my friend

Past Unlocks Future
Past Unlocks Future
Past unlocks Future
The birds fly in the sky
the water flows down the valley
The mountains open wide
Nature feels free
the trees are green
The ocean is clear and blue
Nature feels free
I have no fear for my pass will be free
Love and faith is what it takes
Through the caring and touch of God I'll make my way
nature becomes free
in Jesus name my future is free
thanks to God past is gone and forgotten

For Mel (villanelle)
The one who should have lived has gone so fast.
The old ones, in their dotage, linger on –
they, with no future, live only in the past.
And we who can but sit, dumb and aghast,
scarcely believe that while the sun still shone
the one who should have lived has gone so fast.
Six decades older, surviving to their last
few days or years, together but alone,
they, with no future, live only in the past.
At least she kept on living to the last,
but should have had a future. She has none.
The one who should have lived has gone so fast,
and they, for whom so many years have passed,
are unaware that one they loved is gone.
They, with no future, live only in the past,
mark time until the final trumpet blast,
and never know the respite they have won.
The one who should have lived has gone so fast.
They, with no future, live only in the past.

Free Me
Free me, free me
Why wont you free me
Free me from your spell
Come on and free me
Why wont you free me
Come on and free me
Free me from your spell
Why should I worry
That you might not love me
Youre not the only love
That Ive ever had
Your sweet memory
Will always comfort me
So why should I be feeling sad
As far as I can tell
You knew so well
I was always
At the end of the line
Ive loved you as much
As any man can
But not enough
To make you mine
So long, easy rider
I know Ill miss you for awhile
But sooner or later
I know that Ill forget you
And I tell you babe
Free me
Come on and free me
Why wont you free me
Free me from your spell
Oh babe, free me
Why wont you free me
Come on and free me
Free me from your spell
We let a good love die
We let it pass us by
Though you tried to
Keep me hangin on
But with all this doubt
Itll never work out
So tomorrow Ill be travellin on
And saying:
So long, easy rider
I know Ill miss you for awhile
But sooner or later
I know that Ill forget you
And I beg it babe
Free me
Come on and free me
Why wont you free me
Free me from your spell
Come on and free me
Im on my knees, babe
Free me
Why wont you free me
Free me from your spell
Oh babe, come on
Come on and free me
Why wont you free me
Free me from this spell

Time
Who knows about the future? Who knows what we'll find?
What good and bad things are in store by chance or design?
What can be done today to alter the future's course?
If truth be known you alone rule effects of its force.
Today at work or play only the present exists.
A wise world has no room for a past-present-future tryst.
Each future hour, joyful or dour, will never arrive.
The future will be the future as long as you're alive
The past is gone forever never to steal today's times,
Unless could-have-been memories commit awful crimes.
So love and live each instant of each and every day.
You have so little time as each moment passes away.

You Make It Easy
Never been here - How about you ? "
You smile at my answer,
You've given me the chance,
To be held and understood.
You leave me laughing without crying,
There's no use denying,
For many times I've tried,
Love has never felt as good.
Be it downtown or way up in the air,
When your heart's pounding,
You know that I'm aware.
You make it easy to watch the world with love,
You make it easy to let the past be done,
You make it easy.
How'd you do it ? How'd you find me ?
How did I find you ?
How can this be true ?
To be held and understood.
Keep it coming - no one's running
The lesson I'm learning
'Cause blessings are deserved
By the trust that always could
Be it downtown or way up in the air,
When your heart's pounding,
You know that I'm aware.
You make it easy to watch the world with love,
You make it easy to let the past be done,
You make it easy.
You make it easy to watch the world with love,
You make it easy to let the past be done,
You make it easy.

Your Dream Of Great Happiness
Your dream of great happiness for you has not come true
And a change of luck 'twould seem you are overdue
But of hopes for the future you do not despair
And through the hard times you have hung in there
Yet you feel that the good days for you are ahead
And hope for the future in you is not dead
With your darkest of times you have learned how to cope
And you look to the future with positive hope
Your dream for future happiness from you has not gone
With your battles of life you just keep keeping on
You've experienced some financial trouble of late
But 'tis said good times come to all of those who wait
This journey through life it can often be rough
But you hang in there though you find the going tough.

I Was Going To Forgive You
But before that, i just wanted to tell you that,
im not your future, you cannot plan me, im not your future you cannot foretell me,
im not your future i dont hold good things ahead of you..im not you future im not bright, i am infact the dark and lonely nights that you issued me.
Im not your future, but im the future and you are my past.

The Past, Now and Future
the past is what makes me, me
the now is what i choose to be
the future is what i cant see
if i live in the past
the now wont last
the future comes fast
the past was bad
the now is sad
the future has to be glad
the past is over and gone
the now is here, so i go on
the future is soon to come

Our Story
Sweet Oh sweet smell of all the many white and pink roses you gave me,
They full my room with happiness and so much beauty of life,
Valentine’s day tomorrow? ? Already?
Everyone in love will be together,
Except for you and me: / Wish it could be different,
But I know you have your basketball game,
And I wouldn’t let you cancel it anyways.
Though seeing you only once a week is killing me inside,
It’s just way too damn hard,
I’ve never missed anybody as much as I always miss you.
Once we’re apart all of that pain comes right back so very quickly.
Can’t wait for summer…
Maybe then we can finally be together a lot more.
Here I am right now,
Reminiscing all the good times we’ve had together,
It keeps replaying over and over in my head,
So much laughter, happiness, smiles, & pure love.
Oh how you can make me so mad some times,
That I don't even want to speak to you,
But that soon fails,
I can never seem to stay mad at you for too long,
You're the only person I have ever given a 2nd chance to,
While forgiving and forgetting what you have done,
And I've never once regretted my choice to this day,
You've proven to me so much over the past 4 months,
I some times wonder how much my life would of so sucked,
without you...if I didn't give you that one 2nd chance.
Thank God I did, because really...
You're the only one who makes me happy in this world,
You make me feel so free & alive when I'm with you,
Taking away all of my pain & sins from me in just one touch.
Did you know...
When I'm so very down and having to worst day ever,
You're one phone call can completely change that in just a second.
Baby…I want you to know….
When that special time comes I will be ready,
I want you to be my first & only as well as yours,
Let’s go all the way tonight,
No regrets…just love

Goodbye Winter Goodbye Everybody
Winter has passed friends will go
this year is gone along with the snow
this was the year that everyone knows
this is the year that everyone goes
I'll try not to cry but I'll miss you all
but again I know the snow will fall
My memories will come back that I do know
As long as my life is lived in the snow
I try to hold it all in but it's hard not to cry
thinking about leaving watching the sky
Snowflakes will fall onto my head
I will remember everything you've said
The Joy, the Sadness, the Fun, the Pain
I can see my future from this strength
the future of me the future of the snow
it will all work out this I know
I said I wouldn't cry but this I did lie
This is really sad after all
We will make new friends
til' now and til' then
But for now I say goodbye
to you, to snow sky

What They Will Say
Some times, I wonder if I write for the future.
That may seem like a strange statement to make.
Forty-three years ago, I wrote a poem
that at the time no one wanted to know.
Now it is my best-loved poem
read by countless people around the world.
Thirty years ago, I wrote two poems
and each one won me an award,
but at the time I wrote them,
no one wanted to know.
All of which makes me wonder
if what I wrote in my yesteryears
that then none wanted to know.
Could they all be popular now?
Today I started collecting and retyping
short stories I wrote twenty years ago.
At the time, publishers and agents
didn’t want to know.
Now twenty year on
I am wondering what they will say.

Shadows Of Light
Somewhere in shadow hides my fate, I am at ease to live and wait.
For all the years I've lived thus long, are merely first chords of a song.
The song of standing on my own, just me to face the great unknown.
The song of having to ignite, the flame that makes my future bright.
The song of success sings at last, my future path set hard and fast.
Marching at my own pace seems, the only way to realise dreams.
Schooling years just begun; those teenage years one more re-run.
The song of study as I yearn to know those things still yet to learn.
College, Uni, all so new, reviewing actions, see things through.
Equipped at last for the big OE, decision time; where shall it be?
The song of bustle, in some city, toil is tough; now that's a pity.
The song of outdoors hot and dry, always free beneath blue sky.
Songs from memory call me home, call for me no more to roam.
Home once more among the fold, dormant thoughts yet to unfold.
Meet the one with whom to share, secret moments all too rare.
The song of partner, my own family, contented days and years to be.
The song of children's cries of glee, excitement building joy the key.
The song within of being free, found at last what's meant too be.
