My Life Is Bliss

As I sit here dithering, I think I'm getting old,
My bones are aching my hands are cold,
It's making me bitter why should this be,
I truly feel that I'm no longer me.

You mature with age is what they say,
You start to shrink and your hair turns grey,
Surely this is not what they meant,
If that's what they say then their morals are bent.

When young and carefree I love my bikes,
The speed and the speed and the thrill fulfilled my likes,
Now my mobility scooter does five miles per hour,
which is not much good when caught in a shower.

Now you've retired you'll live a life of leisure,
Joy and happiness in equal measure,
All the time in the world to do what you want,
Who are they kidding, I'm tired and gaunt.

There are things from my past I just can't remember,
Is Christmas in June or is it September,
What's the difference as I no longer care,
Being this ancient just isn't fair.

My children just dump their siblings at mine,
Saying, I'm alright Jack we hope you'll be fine,
They both need to work for what they can't afford,
All the children can say is, ‘' I'm totally bored ‘'.

I love my grandkids but in small doses.
When they're away life's a bed of roses,
Why can't parents look after their own,
Go back out to work when their children have grown.

The toilet now seems a distance too far,
To get there in time I need a fast car,
Something that really drives me mad,
Is soon I'll be needing an incontinence pad.

The ready made meals are really rank rotten,
The ingredients they use are surely ill gotten,
You don't even take them out of their pots,
They're guaranteed to give you the trots.

To get up off my arse is a major task,
To tend my garden is a really big ask,
Why the hell do we need to age,
The very thought puts me in a rage.

My arthritis is killing me, I've a pain in my back,
I'm never away from the bloody quack,
The tablets I swallow make me rattle,
This ageing thing is a major battle.

You may be more knowledgeable that's a fact,
But using that wisdom is an impossible act,
If truth be told this old age is a curse,
My worst fear is it can only get worse.

All the knowledge I've accrued over the years,
Is in there somewhere but my head never clears,
Ask me anything for I know such a lot,
The problem is what I knew I've forgot.

While in the bar with my life long friend,
We looked at two people who were sat near the end,
I said that'll be us in another ten years,
He said that's a mirror, that brought me to tears.

What have I got to look forward to,
Thinking of even more I can't do,
Those issues in life I'll forever miss,
apart from that,

Treat Each Living Second As Your Last

When I was five how I wanted to be ten,
I just longed to be a young man,
My mind would wander now and then,
I wanted to be in the grown ups clan.

When I reached ten I thought of being twenty,
By then I'd be driving my car,
Time for the future, well I still had plenty,
Getting older was a distance to far.

Now I've hit twenty I've nothing to fear,
Time fades past me so slow,
I'm still a young man so I've nothing to fear
I've still got a long time to go.

Thirty years old and it's still not too bad,
I've a wife and children I love,
My health is good I love being a dad,
My life is truly a gift from above,

The big four zero has finally come,
I now watch, as my parents grow old,
The thought of that is making me feel numb,
As I know it cannot be controlled.

I'm now in my fifties my children have flown,
This life can be really strange,
Back when I was five I wish I had known,
Growing older you cannot exchange.

Be careful what you wish for it may come true,
Cherish life for it's far too short,
Enjoy what you have age you cannot subdue,
When you're young these facts you distort.

I'm now eighty years old how I wish I were five,
Hindsight's such a wonderful thing,
All those I loved dearly would still be alive,
I'd be thinking of what the future might bring.

You must live for today forget tomorrow,
Just be thankful for being alive,
Though there will be joy as well as sorrow,
It's how we cope that makes us all thrive.

Life is precious don't ever wish it away,
When it's gone it becomes part of the past,
Enjoy your years every wondrous day,

Its Alright

I need some time to get my head round
The things you said to me
Thoughts are whirling round my head c alright
I never knew that I could feel so strong
Like the way I feel for you
That seemed impossible to me c alright
Said oh, oh, I wish that you could see
Said oh, oh, its the way its meant to be, yeah
Youre the only one I want at night
You keep me warm and make me feel alright
Yknow that we can work it out cos its alright
I only wanna share my life with you
Cos I love all the things you do
Cos I know that its alright
Cmon
You know that Im a dreamer, I can change reality
Yknow its good times when were together cmon
We could take our love around the world
We could dance upon a sea
A little bit of work wont be forever
Said oh, oh I wish that you could see
Said oh, oh its the way its meant to be yeah
Youre the only one I want at night
You keep me warm and make me feel alright
Yknow that we can work it out coz its alright
I only wanna share my life with you
Coz I love all the things you do
Coz I know that its alright
Now Ive been sitting reminiscing
bout the way we sued to be
And how I want those feelings back
Because they mean the world to me
So check it
Ive seen around the world
Climbed the highest heights
To prove my love for you is real
To keep you warm through winter nights
Now baby, I wanna let you know the way you got me feeling
Its guaranteed to keep me here because were reeling
When theres a problem, together we can solve them
Yo all we gots to do is keep that perfect world revolving
Said oh, oh I wish that you could see
Said oh, oh its the way its meant to be yeah
Youre the only one I want at night
You keep me warm and make me feel alright
Yknow that we can work it out cos its alright
I only wanna share my life with you
Cos I love all the things you do
Cos I know that its alright
Ooh check it
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh

The Meaning Of Life Is Unique To Us All

When I was five I wanted to be ten,

I wanted to be in the grown ups clan.

When I reached ten I thought of being twenty,
By then I'd be driving my car,
Time for the future, well I still had plenty,

I've a wife and children I love,
My health is good I love being a Dad,
My life is a gift from above,

The big four zero has finally come,
I now watch, as my parents grow frail,
The thought of that is making me feel numb,
To prevent it should be our holy grail.

I'm now in my fifties my children have flown,
This life can be really quite strange,
Back when I was five I wish I had known,
Growing older you cannot exchange.

Be careful what you wish for it may come true,
Take your time for life is too short,
Enjoy every minute, age you cannot subdue,
When young the facts you distort.

I'm now in my eighties how I wish I were five,
My time here has just flown by,
All those I loved would still be alive,
Now their memories still make me cry.

The moral is don't wish your life away,
Treat each living second as your last,
Enjoy your years every glorious day,
For in the blink of an eye it has passed.

Scientists spend billions asking why we exist,
Look outside, what you see will enthrall,
It is solely for living is the point they've all missed,

You Are Heading For An Almighty Fall

As the millions starve the rich saunter on,
They don't have a care in the world,
The millionaires laugh sipping tea on the lawn,
As their luxury yacht is unfurled.

Why should they care is their line of thought,
It's not our fault the children die,
In their sick life anything can be bought,
Why with nature should they have to comply?

They think they're above the likes of us,
Despite us making them rich,
Feeling superior gives them a buzz,
They'd walk past if you were lying in a ditch.

In reality they're no different from you or me,
Cut their skin and they'll all surely bleed,
They will suffer ill health; they still need to pee,
For companionship they have a need.

Take their money away they would soon disappear,
Their finance is a powerful tool,
Left with nothing they'd soon be living in fear,
Being poor they would say is uncool.

They put wealth over health which so unwise,
Thinking money is the ultimate cure,
All being equal everyone dies,
Of that fact even they can be sure.

As with all life we live and we age,
Animosity against that becomes rife,
That very thought puts them all in a rage,
Why can't their riches buy longer life?

Everlasting life is the patent of God,
His kingdom is open to us all,
If with avarice you've become overawed,

Us Oldies

It is that time of the year,
when my birthday is looming in the air
and I begin to feel quite ancient.
I felt old when my children
presented me with their children
and made me a grandparent,
but when their children
started having children of their own
and stuck a great in front of grandparent
you really begin to feel ancient,
especially when you haven’t retired yet.
When we were young,
oh, those lovely blessed days
when the summers seem to last forever
and the sun always shone.
Life was much more laid back then.
Oh where have they all gone?
Then came the teenage years
opening up all our dreams
of being some kind of superstar.
Yes, I remember them so well,
the music and the romance in the air.
Sometimes I hark back
to those days way back then.

Next, you are an adult
with responsibilities and children of your own.
From there you are on a downward slope
at least that is what some people say.
Well, don’t you believe it;
you’re always as young as you feel.
You can still go out and play
those young kids games.
Personally, I never grew up,
as my friends will testify.
I still have my Peter Pan persona,
Hip Hip Hooray.
I may not drink,
but I can act as crazy as if I do
and that makes life much more fun
being like me a kind old fool.
Kid think they are the only ones
who can have fun,
don’t you believe it,
us oldies can have fun too.

Parents Vs Children

Things that i don't understand in this world is that why do some people
get into relationship, getting married, enjoying life and making love.
But when it comes to children or when they already have kids, they
could not accept their responsibilities as parents. They do have
regrets of having kids especially if the kids are naughty, giving problem
or giving them headaches. They always beating, shouting, saying bad words to the kids saying wish you never exist, wish you never been born.
Instead of being calm, giving advice, doing good things which would make their children happy and be proud to have good parents.
Instead of thinking good ideas which would make them close to each other
.
Child is a child, they need more time with their parents. They need
attention, care, and love. Children are curious to everything, they need
to know antyhing as part of growing up. They need the guidance of
parents, but what I see nowadays is different. Parents just give material things to show their love for their kids.

Some parents just go out to parties, shopping, prefer to hang out with their friends rather than their kids. Then they just leave the children
to the nannies/babysitter.
Parents make their children be far from them instead children to get
close to the nannies who always there for them and give the love to the children. Parents must be a role model for the children, but what i see
now is that children do as what their parents do, they become more liberated.

There are also some parents who give up for their children. Some choose their own happiness, they don't like to stay at home with their kids. especially if thier husband dont have time for them too. the tendency, both couple would have a problem that result to divorce.
Where is the love that they shared? where is the promises and vows they had?

Yes, That Reflection Is Me

When you look in the mirror do you like your reflection,
Or does it bring back a bad recollection,
Why are you suffering after all these years,
Those thoughts of abuse still brings you to tears.

Whenever you think of it you feel you must cry,
You feel you're responsible you wish you could die,
You were but a victim you're dignity taken,
By a beast whose morals they had long forsaken.

This is an issue society has fudged,
The innocent victims are made feel they are judged,
Though you are the person who is truly affected,
The abuser is the one who is then protected.

You were the victim of a heinous crime,
Yet you are the one still doing the time,
The criminal moves on you're left standing still,
But this need not be if you show you've the will.

It's now time to live life you are not an outcast,
No blame lies with you so you must bury that past,
You did nothing wrong that you must know,
If you start to believe then your spirit will grow.

Your life will be yours without being a chore,
You will love who you are forever more,
I would never suggest that you'll ever forget,
But you did nothing wrong you should have no regret.

When that scumbag has gone I think you will find,
You will start to enjoy life you will clear your mind,
That's when you'll really start to believe,
There is nothing in life which you cannot acheive.

So pick yourself up from the depths of despair,
It's a known fact that life isn't fair,
When you feel like crying take appropriate action,
By defeating your demons you will gain satisfaction.

You're no longer the victim you have earned the right,
To be who you are now the end is in sight,
Though there were times your life was rotten,
Those terrible times should now be forgotten.

You must start now it is never to late,
It's now time to take charge of your own fate,
With help you can dig yourself out of that hole,
For the rest of your life you will be in control.

Then when your life is back on track,
you can look in that mirror and say, '' I Am Back ''
When you build up the courage to set your mind free,
You'll take pride in saying,

'' Yes, That Reflection Is Me ''

Love Of A Parent

They had married at a very young age
At the time they thought it was a game.
They had been together for a long time
and he thought that everything would be fine.

They had lived together for two years or more
And they thought they knew the score.
At seventeen years of age they felt they knew it all
And life was to have a ball.

With part time jobs they paid their bills
Living together was such a thrill.
Not having to worry about a curfew hour
Now ' they had all the power'.

Going out partying every weekend
Not thinking of the money that they spent.
Coming home late at night, being drunk
They would start to fight.

She started feeling some menstruation pain
And from this point on their lives would change.
She went to her doctor to check it out
Pregnant she was - there was no doubt.

Now their eyes opened to the fact
From this point on there was no turning back.
They now had a child on the way
And they could no longer go out to play.

He got a full time job and straightened up his act
And a better position he would have to attack.
He went back to school To get a better education
And to give his wife and child all that he could give
And with both their incomes they would have to live.

She worked for seven months till she
Could work no longer, and to get their house in order.
When she went to the hospital because her time was due
She found out she was having not one but two.

She gave birth to a beautiful boy and girl
He was a diamond and she a pearl.
The most precious babies you'd ever want to see
And he was the proud father - as proud as can be.

They struggled like most couples do
But he was determined to see it through.
She took her children and held them tight
For in their faces she saw their fathers might.

His love so strong for his family
And this is what they all did see.
And the rest is history.

To My Unborn Children

To my unborn children
To my unborn children
Just remember daddy loves you
Hope the lord’s looking after you

In case god judges me differently
I just want to tell you this
I’ve learned many things, As I’m blessed and still living
Thinking about my past, yeah reminiscing
My mum was a alone, single parent but proud
I love you mum and I’m saying it loud
I’ve only got one life to live
I hope god can forgive me for my sins
I promise I’ll never lie, cheat or steal again
My only friend is pain and misery
Cos of all the agony that certain people gives to me
See my life isn’t great but it'll sure get better
Hope you understand my love letter,

I'm writing you this letter
It’s to my unborn children
Want to let you know that I love you
Please believe that I feel this way
I think about you every day
And I have so much to say

It's hard to face this, cold world on a good day
When will they let us have our say?
I was in an RTA and yeah I'm still breathing
Got to be proof there’s a god if you’re looking for a reason
Can I believe in my own fate
Have to learn on my own now
I want to make it on my own
Yeah I don’t want no handouts
I don’t want any fuss when it’s my time to die
Don’t worry about me
I’ll be up in the skies
Trust me I won’t be feeling any pain
Cos I’ll get to see my unborn children again

I'm writing you this letter
It’s to my unborn children
Want to let you know that I love you
Please believe that I feel this way
I think about you every day
And I have so much to say

Dear lord hear me when I say
Look after my unborn children
Cos I will take over from you one day
Until that day will my children get to feel love?
Better still if you do will you show them enough?
Oh how I wish they were here
Maybe I should try and change
Then my outlook on life would be more tame
I hate this tough decisions game
Every time I look out at the pounding rain
I see their faces staring back at me
And I'm sorry for not being there
Just know your daddy is a fighter, me against the world
Bless the children of his earth
To the Lord when it’s my turn
May I eternally rest in your peace
So I can take care of my unborn children
I would look after them now
I’m stretching up with my fingertips
I’m so close, yet still so far out of reach

I'm writing you this letter
It’s to my unborn children
Want to let you know that I love you
Please believe that I feel this way
I think about you every day
And I have so much to say

To my unborn children, please forgive me
This letter goes out to you to hopefully make you see
That daddy thinks about you daily
mummy and daddy loves you, we’ve got nothing but love for you
Hope you got a good life up there with the lord
One day we’ll be up there with you
Please, please understand
Just know we got love for you
We’ll see you soon up there in heaven
Take care my children, take care
Have fun and be smart
Stay together and you’ll be okay
I know sometimes you look down on us...confused
But hopefully daddy’s thoughts and prayers will help you get through everyday
Cos when I die my spirit will fly determinedly your way

Whipped

Is there anything that can help me let go
I’m tired of crying down this road
I’m young should I feel this old
I’m tired of being split
I’m tired of feeling whipped
I’m tired of not knowing what’s right
I’m tired of looking for this light
I’m tired of living wrong
I’m tired of crying to this repeating sad song
I’m tired of wrong feeling so right
I’m tired of fighting with all my might
I’m tired of hoping friends will be by my side
I’m tired of my feelings I hide
I’m tired of no one picking up the phone
I’m tired of being home
I’m tired of the sun
I’m tired of the moon
I’m tired of thinking what to do
I’m tired of you

All I ever think of is hope
And all I ever heard is have faith
I feel fragile like an old piece of rope
And know I did nothing but disgrace
I hoped to be a good man
I hoped to have a plan
I hoped to be the one
I hoped to have some fun
I hoped life was easer than they say
I hoped home was where I lay
I hoped I always knew right
I hoped I would always fight
I hoped me was the one you see
I hoped true love would always be
I hoped I didn’t need to rest
I hoped life meant happiness

Hope and faith are strong words
They fly away easy like birds
Does one ever know where they stand?
Its harder than I thought to be a man
I remember being young and free
I remember trying to be me
I remember when I first fell in love
I remember hearing the sound of a dove
I remember being young wishing I was old
I remember trying to live out side the mold
I remember when I would dream
I remember when it was all about me
I remember when I wanted to be where I am
I remember that meant I needed to be man
I remember when life was fun
I remember shooting out like a gun
I remember love was a rush
I remember the first time I was crushed
I remember doing and not thinking
I remember doing nothing but drinking
I remember trying to make my tears dry
I remember the feeling of telling a lie
I remember when the world was at my feet
I remember the feeling of being beat
I remember being ashamed of who I am
I remember at one time I knew where I stand

Memory is a gift or is it a curse
It showed you at your best and at your worse
Time is something that should be taken slowly
I don’t want to be old and lonely
I know not to always follow my gut
I know ill always be in this rut
I know tomorrow will come
I know yesterday is gone
I know I will run
I know I am wrong
I know ill live
I know ill die
I know not to ask why

Death Is Not Goodbye, It Is Just Farewell

I've reached that point where I now know,
My life here is over it's my time to go,
By the principles of honesty I've tried to adhere,
Perhaps that's why I do not feel fear.

When I leave this life my journey will start,
So I don't feel down now it's time to depart,
I'll be heading for the joys of eternal life,
No more pain or the feelings of strife.

I'll feel sadness for those I will leave behind,
But we'll never be far from each others mind,
I'll be watching over them from up above,
that way I can shower them all with my love.

I'll leave them with memories they'll never forget,
By focusing on them there will be no regret,
Life will go on but they will be aware,
They will feel my presence they'll know I am there.

I'll be back again with my Mum and Dad,
With that in mind how could I feel sad,
From those earthly pressures I'll forever be free,
There is so much I'm looking forward to see,

Thousands of relatives and friends from the past,
Together forever this new life will last,
Scientists say it's a dream but dreams do come true,
My undying faith will carry me through.

They'll all be waiting for me to arrive,
With that welcome to come I know I will thrive,
I'll be safe in the knowledge this new life is forever,
Where all life is equal now that's really clever.

There'll be animals and plants and beautiful seas,
No fighting or hatred nor any disease,
A kingdom where we are all treated the same,
Equality for all no recognition of fame.

No religious conflict or issues of race,
Infinite happiness is what I now face,
A wonderful world with a happy accord,
If you trust in your God this will be your reward.

No more sadness just feelings of joy,
Where nothing can upset or ever annoy,
That life I once had I will no longer miss,
For the one I have now is perpetual bliss.

By teaching your loved ones you will meet again,
From grieving too much it will help them refrain,
By knowing you're around them their fears will dispel,

‘' Death Is Not Goodbye It Is Just Farewell ‘'

Still Around

Do you remember what you said to me the day I met you
Like yesterday I still can hear your voice, you promised to be
Still in my life no matter what you had to do to be there
Well, it's been a while and here we are lookin' back on times that we shared
I still imagine us being young and so in love
Never apart, you were my heart
Seems like it's always just been us
Chorus:
I remember we were in the park
Holding hands and you said to me
I'm the only thing you need
And I would make your life complete
If I said I'd be your girl
You would stay with me forever
Boy, you never let me down
Through it all you're still around
Still around (yeah)
I still believe in all the things you said to me in those days
You gave me love and kept your word with every promise you made
I sing your favorite song inside my head when you're not with me
Until you come back home and take me in your arms and hold me
I can imagine us being old and still in love
Never apart, you are my heart
Makes me smile, we're still in love
I remember we were in the park
Holding hands and you said to me
I'm the only thing you need
And I would make your life complete
If I said I'd be your girl
You would stay with me forever
Boy, you never let me down
Through it all you're still around
Looking back through all the years
(Man speaking):
Heh
You remember the first time I went to your house
And your father looked at me like I had three heads
(And I will never forget the day)
Heh
We were so in love
(Looking back through all the years)
You were so beautiful and so young
(And I will never forget the day you came into my life and what you said to me)
I can't believe you're still mine
That's crazy
I love you
I remember we were in the park (we were in the park)
Holding hands and you said to me (holding hands)
I'm the only thing you need
And I would make your life complete (and I would your life complete)
If I said I'd be your girl
You would stay with me forever (I'm still your girl)
Boy, you never let me down
Through it all you're still around (I'll never let you down, my baby)
I remember we were in the park
Holding hands and you said to me
I'm the only thing you need
And I would make your life complete
If I said I'd be your girl (said I'd be your girl and)
You would stay with me forever
Boy, you never let me down
Through it all you're still around
Still around (yeah)

They're Our National Treasure

If there's one thing in life which will start a war,
It's conflict between the young and old,
Let's stop and reflect and start asking what for,
These disputes can and do leave us cold.

I observed an old guy the other day,
As he was carrying out a menial task,
When I offered assistance he said, no way,
I'm grateful but there's no need to ask.

What a stubborn Old Git I thought to myself,
He's just bitter because he is old,
It's not my fault he's been left on the shelf,
His attitude did leave me cold.

Then I thought to myself, what would I be like,
If I ever reached the same age,
No more football or stunts on my bike,
That notion placed me in a rage.

Like me he must have been young and fit,
Yet this old guy I was trying to deride,
I knew by his actions his fire I had lit,
He was showing me he still had his pride.

This got me thinking about why we fight,
The reason we are so far apart,
Generations divided by who's wrong or right,
To bridge this divide we must start.

There's so much our Elders know about life,
Yet their knowledge we choose to ignore,
Our attitude towards them can cause so much strife,
They're our mentors they should not be a chore.

Yet in truth they know more than you or I,
They've been round the course a lot longer,
We forget they were young that we cannot deny,
Why don't we try make our relationships stronger.

We must have a truce and evaluate each other
Both our groups have so much to give,
Our differences we know can and do smother,
We must learn to live and let live.

This works both ways, they can be the same,
Saying their time was more respectful than ours,
In life generations go through much the same,
We have weaknesses but we also have powers.

It's our turn next so don't ever forget,
Respect as a gift must be earned,
We owe all our ancestors a massive debt,
Without them what would we have learned.

It's a fact of life that we become more skilled,
Each generation improves on the last,
Thanks to our Elders future dreams are fulfilled,
Only our memories remain in the past.

The reason for this fact is plain to see,
Our forefathers did their job well,
Skills they've given us you'd have to agree,
Is the reason we can now excel.

No group in history has ever got it just right,
Fact is we will all make mistakes,
That's how we learn to make things right,
By distinguishing the real from the fakes.

If we'd treat each other with more respect,
Our differences we could make disappear,
If on each others attributes we tried to reflect,
Then both parties would have nothing to fear.

We all need each other we know that is true,
Living in harmony would give both parties pleasure,
Without our Elders what would we do,
in truth,

‘' They're Our National Treasure ‘'

Golden Years

he finally reached his golden years
wanted to leave his family,
thoughts and love to share.
so he sat with pen in hand
wrote about his lifes plan.

it started off with just his dream
never expecting the unforseen.
as his plans began to unwind
he found himself lost in time.

he joined the army at an early age
this was to become the setting stage
he survived the street gangs and a war
and never talking about what he saw.

he managed retail businesses all his life
met the woman who would become his wife.
he had always loved children
so he thought it was time
his wife agreed and it turned out fine.

a beautiful little girl came into their life
and everything seemed twice as nice.
now he had two women who captured his heart
and knew right then, that this was the start.

the start to his golden years
with his wife he could share.
all the dreams that were meant to be
was now becoming a reality.

but the years was going by fast
he knew his dreams would not last.
now with this thought in mind
he decided it was time
to put his life in perspective
for the golden years to become effective.

so he changed his train of thoughts
a late retirement he would abort.
he retired before his time
so he could enjoy life the way
that it was meant to be
living happy and carefree.

now that he finished writing
down his thoughts and plans
he let them know
'YOUR PERCEPTION BECOMES YOUR REALITY'
and this is what mine was to me.
the golden years are now mine
and i'm lost in its time.

Seeing You Dying, Hurts

Ever wonder, just a ponder
what life would be like
if we were told we had little to live
tears and fears, mind blowing
what to do, no time to go
the anger, the pain, the stress
how long to go, no one knows
could be fast, maybe slow and last
forever we want to live
we pray for long life and healthiness
why do we get picked, not our choice
people been there some survive.others don't
thinking where life should go
quit the job, see the world
sit and moan, don't frown
get on your feet live it well
happiness extents life
be free and enjoy those days
number as they are
limited as you go, be with the ones who care
for they will suffer the most
living without you
give them memories to share
do not spare, they do care
pictures and stories last forever
good and bad, tears and laughter will fall
missing you will be so hard
been together for all your life
the world will be so lost
without you there
have to find away to go on
it's not the same, things will change
lives will go on
never let go, you been told
it's so hard to let you go
time so cruel, it's running out
please forgive me if I cry
your a big part of our lives
stay around and have some fun
life is grand and so are you
give it all, don't let time end
love makes time, time makes life
I will smile till the end
cry to myself, show no pain
the hurt so hidden
makes me think
why not me, why you

Sonnet: World Children’s Plea

We are the children of the planet Earth,
Destined adults of the forthcoming years!
We doubt the safety of our very birth;
Our life exwomb is sad, bringing us tears.

We want the love that good parents can give;
We want the freedom to grow at our will;
We want to read, play, work and learn to live;
We want to be better citizens still!

Give us the chances to know about life;
Give us a world that will truly provide;
Give us the knowledge to counter our strife;
Give us the choice to worship, God abide.

Give us the love which your parents gave you;
Love us wholeheartedly, more than beasts do.

For Many Life Is A Hard Battle

For many life is a hard battle but most rise again after a fall
And from life babies do begin learning long before they learn how to crawl
It would be nice to stay innocent for a lifetime but the innocence of childhood doesn't last
The years seem to go by so quickly and time as we know ticks on fast
'Tis sad to think some children have their innocence from them stolen and are exploited in the worst possible way
That they cannot look back on a happy childhood does seem so sad to have to say
The crimes committed against children are not easy crimes to forgive
Those guilty of such terrible atrocities with their shame must find it hard to live
I consider myself to be lucky my childhood years I did enjoy
Compared to many I feel privileged I did enjoy life as a boy
In the green countryside west of Millstreet where I grew into a young man
I learned about life from my mentors and my enduring love of Nature began
For so many life is a hard battle and they've never known of happy years
And they must live with their haunting memories of their unhappy childhood years.

A Cursed Blessing

She came to this world
one lovely day
The wind danced and twirled
Even the sun came out to play

She grew
With a family by her side
They were stuck together like glue
But then one day, they all died

What did she have remaining?
After the Holocaust took them away
Her heart was flooded from the nonstop raining
Left alone like a stray

*She found a new life for her
In a place called America*

Her children were silent
Yet fine all the same
Her life was violent
But who else was there to blame?

*One day, a skii trip came
And she broke her leg*

*She lost her license
And was left at home alone more often*

Life is never fair
But it has a few rewards
Children and grandkids with a flare
Living life so others can too

It's hard
It's tough
Your soul has been scarred
I know it's been enough

*But there was more...*

You have lived a long time
With more pain in it than mine
I swear it's a crime
That you had to go through it all

Then you were given alzheimer's disease

And your memory was erased

You can't remember anything I said a second ago

Or who I am

But at least the bad in your life is hidden from your sight

It's good, it's bad
It's happiness, it's sad

I don't know if it's a blessing or a curse...

Eve

Detdicated to Eve Croft
May she Rest In Peace

It was over forty years ago
when I first met her.
I had barely left my teens.
She was older than me;
in fact, she was a friend’s mother.
Divorce had left her lonely
with three sons to bring up.
Life was not easy,
not much time to herself.
Slowly after meeting her,
a friendship between us grew.

To make her life sustainable
I took her out
from time to time.
We held hands at the pictures
and when we went anywhere.
She often worried
what people would think of me.
I didn’t really care what people thought.
Eve was a friend
and there was nothing more to be said.

For the next couple of years
our friendship never wavered.
We would hug and smile
whenever we did meet.
There was never any romance involved,
we were just very good friends.

I never forget when she had an offer
to move in with someone.
She was so worried
that I would think badly of her.
She was almost in tears
when she told me his proposition.
I put my arm around her shoulder
and reassured her it was all right.
That our friendship would never diminish
regardless what she did.

Sadly, her going away
was never meant to be.
She fell ill with cancer
and went to live with her sister
who would care for her.
It was the last time
I was ever to see her.

It was a few years later
I bumped into her eldest son.
When I asked him about his mum
he looked at me strangely
with tears holding back I his eyes.
She died I thought you knew.
I said that I didn’t.

He said he couldn’t stop
as he had a bus to catch,
and then he was gone.
With head bowed, I turned away
and started walking home.
Tears leaked from my eyes
making small lines across my cheeks.
My regret then and will always be
that I never had a chance
to say a proper goodbye.

So It All Ends

So it All Ends
Wilfred Charles Mellers Tuesday, December 28,2010

Well, well, ain’t this about a stitch
Lying here bloody in a stinking ditch
Waiting on the good lord to come along
Thinking of what went wrong

Cloths torn as all hope shattered
Who I am or was truly never mattered
Achievements came seldom few
What was I suppose to do

Words no longer express
My life was such a mess
Waiting for it to start
But it was always falling apart

No beginning just a bitter end
Pockets empty without a farthing to lend
Back broken for too far I have bent
My entire life so irrelevant

So here I lay waiting on the hour
Demons now my soul devour
No more the bashful wallflower
My stomach no longer sour

No longer down on my knees
No more having to beg please
Darkness now all I see
No more they shall remember me

No more days sunny and bright
Ever long comes the night
Fading slowly as they walk bye
They could careless if I live or die

They see me there and they are aware
Along with there business for they don’t care
Another victim of the street
He never saw his life complete

Never was the great athlete
No fancy shoes on my feet
No politician I tried to unseat
Never was my life sweet

All good things must come to an end
Time no one can suspend
In this life you have not a friend
For it was all just for pretend
