I Told You I Was Ill
I'm lying on a cold wet slab,
I seem unable to breathe,
Is it because I smoked too much?
That thought just makes me seethe.
The pathologist said as he went in,
The cause of death I think,
Is the fact this guy smoked far too much?
He also enjoyed his drink.
I'm trying my best to answer back,
I want to make it clear,
That what he's saying is rubbish,
I should not be lying here.
I've never felt like this before,
Could someone tell me why?
Is it something that I've said?
I didn't ask to die.
The last thing I remember was,
Sipping whisky and having a smoke,
As I inhaled my cigarette,
I started to bloody choke.
As I stood up to clear my throat,
My chest felt really sore,
I careered at speed across the room,
Then landed on the floor
I then looked down upon myself,
As I lay flat on my back,
The people all around me said,
Of breath there is a lack.
As my relatives stand over me,
They're saying I look quite void,
What do they expect of me,
To be looking overjoyed.
One of them said he's now at peace,
He's looking really well,
I'm dead you stupid imbecile,
I hope you rot in hell.
I cannot move my arms or legs,
I'm feeling pretty rigid,
My wife is telling all out loud,
I told you he was frigid.
One thing I'll always remember,
Since I first learned to speak,
I warned them all I wasn't well,
How I always felt quite weak.
But they just used to say to me,
Stop walking with that limp,
There's nothing really wrong with you,
You're just a bloody wimp.
I overheard the doc one day,
He made a sick wisecrack,
He told my parents I wasn't ill,
I was a hypochondriac.
Now what they are trying to imply,
Has put me in a rage,
It wasn't just the smoke and drink,
They're saying it was my age.
If that really was the truth,
I'd be the first to say that's fine,
But they're all talking nonsense,
I was only ninety-nine.
The undertakers are walking in,
With what I've to be carried off in,
How dare my relatives say to them?
Oh it ‘s such a lovely coffin.
If it's such a beautiful piece,
Then in it they can hop,
If they give me back my life on earth,
Then I will gladly swap.
I've always said I was unwell,
But that's now a bitter pill,
If I could talk I'd shout out loud,
‘'I Told You I Was Ill''.

Death of an Innocent
I went to a party, mom, I remember what you said.
You told me not to drink, mom, so I drank soda instead.
I really felt proud inside, mom, even though the others said I should.
I know I did the right thing, mom, I know you are always right.
Now the party is finally ending, mom, as everyone is driving out of site.
As I got into my car, mom, I knew I would get home in one piece.
Because of the way you raised me, mom, so responsible and sweet.
I stared to drive away, mom, but I pulled out into the road,
The other car didn’t see me, mom, and hit me like a load.
As I lay here on the payment, mom, I hear the policeman say,
The other guy is drunk, mom, and now I’m the one who will pay.
I’m lying here dying, mom, I wish you’d get here soon.
How could this happen to me, mom? My life just burst like a balloon.
There is blood all around me, mom, and most of it is mine.
I hear the medic say, mom, I’ll die in a short time.
I just wanted to tell you, mom, I swear I didn’t drink.
It was the others, mom. The others didn’t think.
He was probably at the same party as I.
The only difference is, he drank and I will die.
Why do people drink, mom? It can ruin your whole life.
I’m feeling sharp pains now, mom, pains just like a knife.
The guy that hit me is walking, mom, I don’t think it is fair.
I’m lying here dying, mom, and all he can do is stare.
Tell my brother not to cry, mom, tell daddy to be brave.
And when I go to haven, mom, put “daddy’s girl” on my grave.
Someone should have told him, mom, not to drink and drive.
If only they had told him, mom, I would still be alive.
My breath is getting short, mom, I’m becoming very scared.
Please don’t cry for me, mom. When I need you, you were always there.
I have one last question, mom, before I say good bye.
I didn’t drink and drive, mom, so why am I the one to die?

Cloony The Clown
I'll tell you the story of Cloony the Clown
Who worked in a circus that came through town.
His shoes were too big and his hat was too small,
But he just wasn't, just wasn't funny at all.
He had a trombone to play loud silly tunes,
He had a green dog and a thousand balloons.
He was floppy and sloppy and skinny and tall,
But he just wasn't, just wasn't funny at all.
And every time he did a trick,
Everyone felt a little sick.
And every time he told a joke,
Folks sighed as if their hearts were broke.
And every time he lost a shoe,
Everyone looked awfully blue.
And every time he stood on his head,
Everyone screamed, 'Go back to bed!'
And every time he made a leap,
Everybody fell asleep.
And every time he ate his tie,
Everyone began to cry.
And Cloony could not make any money
Simply because he was not funny.
One day he said, 'I'll tell this town
How it feels to be an unfunny clown.'
And he told them all why he looked so sad,
And he told them all why he felt so bad.
He told of Pain and Rain and Cold,
He told of Darkness in his soul,
And after he finished his tale of woe,
Did everyone cry? Oh no, no, no,
They laughed until they shook the trees
With 'Hah-Hah-Hahs' and 'Hee-Hee-Hees.'
They laughed with howls and yowls and shrieks,
They laughed all day, they laughed all week,
They laughed until they had a fit,
They laughed until their jackets split.
The laughter spread for miles around
To every city, every town,
Over mountains, 'cross the sea,
From Saint Tropez to Mun San Nee.
And soon the whole world rang with laughter,
Lasting till forever after,
While Cloony stood in the circus tent,
With his head drooped low and his shoulders bent.
And he said,'THAT IS NOT WHAT I MEANT -
I'M FUNNY JUST BY ACCIDENT.'
And while the world laughed outside.
Cloony the Clown sat down and cried.

Late In The Evening
The first thing I remember, I was lying in my bed
I couldntve been no more than one or two
And I remember theres a radio, coming from the room next door
My mother laughed the way some ladies do
Well its late in the evening, and the musics seeping through
The next thing I remember, I am walking down a street
Im feeling alright Im with my boys and with my troops, yeah
Down along the avenue some guys are shootin pool
And I heard the sound of acapella groups, yeah
Singin late in the evening, and all the girls out on the stoops, yeah
Then I learned to play some lead guitar, I was underage in this funky bar
And I stepped outside to smoke myself a j
When I come back to the room, everybody just seemed to move
And I turned my amp up loud and I began to play
It was late in the evening, and I blew that room away
First thing I remember when you came into my life
I said I wanna get that girl, no matter what I do
Well I guess Ive been in love before and once or twice have been on the floor
But Ive never loved no-one the way that I love you
And it was late in the evening, and all the musics seeping through

He Took Away My Only Angel
He took away my only angel
He took away my only survival
I was perfectly fine in the life I stood
It was nowhere close to perfect
But I wouldn't call it miserable
I was fine the way I was
I was used to hiding in myself
I was used to living and talking to myself
I didn't like sitting in the corner by myself
But I hated talking to new people more
I didn't even mind being alone
Then you came along
Bringing something I never knew
Something I strongly desired
But more deeply feared
You came like the wind
I never knew existed
Picked me up from the ground
Showed me a world
I never thought I'd be a part of
You sensed every fear and scar I've had
Told me there's nothing in this world sane
Held me in your arms
And told me to scream
Scream as if he'll hear it
The lord you believed and trusted
You told me he'll listen
Told me he'll respond
He can never ignore a scream of pain so loud
He'll hear it and won't do wrong
You brought me brightness
I feared to loose
Looking into your eyes
Made all my worry disappear
You promised me you'll never go
And that I'll never have to let go
But you lied
You left
Left me in the middle of the meadow
Where we first met
Unable to cry
Unable to tear
It was last promise to you
To never cry
But sometime I still lose control at night
I scream and shudder at the pain
It's the time my heart pricks with thorns the most
But in a way I'm glad
The pain is my only reminder
You were real
And there's nothing in this world sane
But now here I am
Ignored like the wall again
Fearing if I even exist, cause...
He took away my only angel
He took away my only survival
So I went back
Back to the meadow you left me in
Thought about what you said
You told me he'd listen
He can never ignore a scream of pain so loud
So screamed once again
As loud as I can
First time in life I was jealous
Jealous of the god you believed and trusted
Jealous he had you with him
Right by his side
He stole you from me
In one split second
You trusted him and
He adored you back
So he took you like the greedy one he is
He had so many angels
Yet he took you too
As an addition to his collection
He took away my only angel
He took away my only survival
Now I'm unable to dream
Or forget anything you've ever given me
I can't even go back to who I was before
But there's still one think
I can still professionally do
Hide everything I'm feeling right now
Hide everything I've felt for you
It's something I do best
It's something I do most
But I know you're something
I'll never forget
And I'll take you back
Whenever your back!
I PROMISE!
But that's impossible, of course, cause...
He took away my only angel
He took away my only survival
YOU! ! !

I Remember When
I remember when you was all mine
When ever you told me you loved me,
I believed you everytime you told me.
I remember when you promised me
That you would never leave me for my friend,
Then you did that behind my back.
I remember when we had our first kiss
Your lips was so soft and tender,
And I will always remember how they felt.
I remember when I first met you
I was walking in the hall on a Friday,
And I said hi and so did you.
I remember when you went with me to an appointment
And on our way home we was taking silly pictures,
Those memories was great I would love to relive that day.
I remember when you told me it was over
I remember the date March 22,2011
Of our seven month anniversty,
You told me we needed a brake for awhile
And we might get back together sooner or later.
I remember when I cried all night
Because I wanted you back.

Death of an Innocent
I went to a party mom, I remembered what you said, you told me
Not to drink mom, so I drank soda instead.
I felt really proud inside mom, the way you said I would.
I didn’t drink and drive mom even though the others said I should.
I know I did the right thing mom, I know you’re always right, now
The party is finally ending mom and everyone is driving out of sight.
As I got into my car mom, I know I’d get home in one piece because
Of the way you raised me mom, so responsible and sweet.
I started to drive away, but as I pulled onto the road and the other
Driver didn’t see me and hit me like a load, as I lay here on the
Pavement mom, I heard the policeman say the other guy is drunk
And I’m the one who’ll pay.
I’m lying here dying mom I wish you’d get here soon, how come this
Happened to me mom my life burst like a balloon, there is blood all
Around me mom, most of it’s mine, I hear the paramedics say I’ll die
In a very short time.
I just wanted to tell you mom I swear I didn’t drink, it was the others mom,
The others didn’t think, he didn’t know where he was going mom, he was
Probably at the same party as I, the difference is mom he drank and I will die.
Why do people drink mom? It can ruin your whole life, I’m feeling sharp pains
Now mom, pains just like a knife. The guy who hit me is walking mom, I don’t
Think that is fair, I’m laying here dying mom while all he can do is stare.
Tell my brother not to cry mom, tell daddy to be brave and when I go to heaven
Put Daddy’s girl on my grave. Someone should have told him mom not to drink
And drive, if only they would have only taken the time mom I would still be alive.
My breath is getting shorter mom, I’m becoming very scared please don’t cry for
Me mom because when I needed you, you were always there. I have one last
Question mom before I say goodbye, I didn’t even drink mom, so why am I the
One to die.
This is the end mom I wish I could look you in the eye to say these final words
I love you and goodbye.

Every Attribute You Have Has Been Bought
When I met you in that darkened room,
I just didn't realise,
That all I'd feel was heartbreak and gloom,
For peering into those eyes.
You looked just like a beauty queen,
Standing seductively over the bar,
The most gorgeous woman I'd ever seen,
A glistening beautiful star.
I may have had too much to drink,
But that didn't spoil my view,
In fact it inspired me to think,
My desire was to be with you.
How could a guy be so lucky in love,
It must be my ability to disarm,
What I'm seeing is a gift from above,
Full of good looks and charm.
At that point I seen my future laid out,
We would never again be apart,
I knew it was love so I let out a shout,
You have taken over my heart.
How could a guy be so lucky in life,
Meeting someone as beautiful as you,
Instantly I knew that she'd be my wife,
That would be done without further ado.
She would make me a perfect partner,
The drink must have given me that thought,
In the darkness I told her, you're perfect,
A body like yours can't be bought
I asked her if she'd share some time with me,
She didn't even put up a fight,
When she came over and said, yes I'm free.
I knew then I'd done something right.
We both laughed and danced the night away,
I knew we were made for each other,
Very soon I knew I would say,
I'd love you to meet my Mother.
At the end of the night I asked her home,
Surprisingly my beauty said yes,
I went to the mens room for a wash and a comb,
What came next was anyone's guess.
We went back to her flat instead of mine,
At the time I just didn't ask why,
The way she looked had me on cloud nine,
Just the thought of it all made me cry.
She wouldn't allow me to turn on the light,
Of her reasons I just wasn't aware,
If I had I'd probably have died of fright,
But at the time I just didn't care.
We then made out in every room,
Exhausted we both fell asleep,
We knew next day our passion would resume,
That was a promise we'd keep.
You were to be my future partner in crime,
My beauty I'd finally caught,
The angels were ensuring I had a good time,
A body like yours can't be bought.
Next day off came the wig and eyelashes,
Her make up and then her false teeth,
The daylight exposed all her rashes,
All this while I'm lying underneath.
She told me she was going to powder her nose,
Doing my make up just never fails,
I thought what else can this lady expose,
As I sat on her pack of false nails.
The botox was wearing off at this point,
Her wrinkles were there to be seen,
I said to myself, I'm out of this joint,
In truth I'm no longer so keen.
At this point the implants fell out of her chest,
They were splattered all over the floor,
I thought my God that's what I caressed,
At that point I made for the door.
She asked me for one more lingering kiss,
Like the one I had given her last night,
I said sorry darling but I'll give that a miss,
In sobriety you've given me a fright.
This story is told straight from the heart,
Be happy with what God's given you,
Or very soon you'll be falling apart,
It's your surgeon you'll be wanting to sue.
I knew then I'd made a major gaffe,
It made me feel really distraught,
She said lets make out, I said you're having a laugh,
‘' Every Attribute You Have Has Been Bought‘'
He Told Me I Was Beautiful
He told me I was Beautiful,
And I was feeling so alone...
He told me I was Beautiful,
It was such a serious tone.
He told me I was Beautiful,
It must be a curse word!
He told me I was Beautiful,
And made sure that I heard.
He told me I was Beautiful,
And that he wanted to keep me.
He Told me I was Beautiful,
I felt trapped and wanted to flee.
He told me I was Beautiful,
But I do not love him.
He told me I was Beautiful,
You know what?
I really don't care....
Because when he kissed me,
I wished I wasn't there.

I Realized Why I Hate Rejection
i hate being rejected,
i never understood until today,
it replays in my mind,
the day you told me,
that it was my fault,
it couldn't be the way it was,
when it was you and i,
i was a child,
you put the blame on me,
told me i opened my mouth,
and now things can never be the same,
i was a child,
everything you were doing to me,
just felt so wrong,
i enjoyed the attention,
looking back,
i don't think it was worth it,
there are memories i won't forget,
everything you did to me,
was set in stone,
it will never be undone or erased,
it will remain,
a memory i wish to distroy,
but i can't,
it's a memory and feeling,
that is hard to live with at times,
being told as a child,
that you wasn't good enough,
by a man who had no right,
and yet i'm the one hurting,
it don't feel fair,
you got what you enjoyed,
and i didn't even asked for it,
i was forced into doing it,
what i didn't want to do,
it no wonder i put myself,
in the same exact thing you put me in,
it feels right,
but at the same time,
i'm hallow and numb,
i don't feel nothing,
i'm not even sure if i want to feel something,
because feeling something means,
feeling the deep pain,
i let myself go years trying to forget,
it will all come flooding back,
all the pain is hard,
it don't seem to get easier.

For My Foster Sister (about growing up with mom drunk)
We used to run through the sprinkler
we double jumped & skipped rope
we danced along to the radio
our lives were filled with hope
then something made her dad leave
and soon her mom was always drunk
she didn't have clean clothes to wear
she often felt like a dirty punk
she didn't have anyone to talk to
and the shades were always pulled tight
her mom didn't want any noise
and hated when she turned on the light
she no longer made her lunch
and asleep when she came home
she wore a ratty bathrobe
and never used a comb
it's a good thing the house was paid for
so she never had to sleep in the street
but if she didn't cash in coke bottles
she would never have anything to eat
nobody ever called the cops
they lived out towards the woods
she learned how to steal real well
and that's how she brought home goods
Mom used her welfare money
to buy her favorite drink
she ate all her leftovers
and put dishes in the sink
She didn't want a foster family
but was too scared not to tell
the day she found her on the floor
she told me her mom wasn't well
But instead of speaking out
She left home that day
she slept under the railway pass
got to school, ran all the way
We don't know who called the cops
but they cornered her in the hall
took her to the counselors office
where she stood against the wall
They told her - she had to move
in with a foster family
She didn't want to leave her mom
but is how it was to be
She cried at the funeral
for a mom who wasn't there
and moved around a lot after that
her mom's death too much to bear
She graduated college
just the other day
that foster family that took her in
we helped her make her own way
She never thought she'd love again
after her mom was gone
but we've learned a lot since then
and we know her mom was wrong
When her dad left he took her pride
and she lost all control
she couldn't raise her by herself
with booze she drowned her soul
We've been to her grave
and planted a flower cover
cause even though she was a drunk
she still her mother

Nobodys Listening
Yo. peep the style and the kids checkin for it
The number one question is how could you ignore it
And drop right back in the cut
Over basement tracks with rap sack
Got you back in the sup like rewind that
We just rollin with the rhythm
Fast from the ashes of stylist division
We these nonstop lyrics of life livin
Not to be forgotten but still unforgiven
When in the mean time there are those who wanna talk
This and that so what suppose that
It gets to the point to where feelings gotta get hurt
And get dirty with the people spreading the dirt
It goes
I tried to give you warning but everyone ignores me
I told I everything loud and clear
But nobodys listening
Call to you so clearly
But you dont want to hear me
I told you everything loud and clear
But nobodys listening
I got a heart full of pain, head full of stress, hair full of anger
Hell did my chest
And everything left is waste of time
I hate my rhymes, but hate everyone elses more
Im riding on the back of this pressure
Guessing that its better I cant keep myself together
Because all of this stress gave me something to write on
Pain gave me something I could set my sights on
Never forget the blood, sweat and tears
The uphill struggle over years
The fear and the trash talking to the people it was to
And the people that started it just like you.
I tried to give you warning but everyone ignores me
I told I everything loud and clear
But nobodys listening
Call to you so clearly
But you dont want to hear me
I told you everything loud and clear
But nobodys listening
I got a heart full of pain, head full of stress, hair full of anger
Hell did my chest
Uphill stuggle, blood , sweat and tears, nothing to gain
Everything to fear
(repeat)
I tried to give you warning but everyone ignores me
I told I everything loud and clear
But nobodys listening
Call to you so clearly
But you dont want to hear me
I told you everything loud and clear
But nobodys listening

Little Aggie
When Joe Dove took his elephants out on the road
He made each one hold fast with his trunk
To the tail of the elephant walking in front
To stop them from doing a bunk.
There were fifteen in all, so 'twere rather a job
To get them linked up in a row,
But once he had fixed 'em Joe knew they'd hold on,
For an elephant never lets go.
The pace it was set by the big 'uns in front,
'Twas surprising how fast they could stride,
And poor little Aggie, the one at the back...
Had to run till she very near died.
They were walking one Sunday from Blackpool to Crewe,
They'd started at break of the day,
Joe followed behind with a bagful of buns
In case they got hungry on t'way.
They travelled along at a rattling good pace
Over moorland and valley and plain,
And poor little Aggie the one at the back
Her trunk fairly creaked with the strain.
They came to a place where the railway crossed road,
An ungated crossing it were,
And they wasn't to know as the express was due
At the moment that they landed there.
They was half way across when Joe saw the express-
It came tearing along up the track-
He tried hard to stop, but it wasn't much good,
For an elephant never turns back.
He saw if he didn't do something at once
The train looked like spoiling his troupe,
So he ran on ahead and he waggled tho buns
To show them they'd best hurry up
When they caught sight of buns they all started to run,
And they soon got across at this gait,
Except poor little Aggie-the one at the back,
She were one second too late.
The express came dashing along at full speed,
And caught her end on, fair and square
She bounced off the buffers, turned head over heels,
And lay with her legs in the air.
Joe thought she were dead when he saw her lyin' there,
With the back of her head on the line
He knelt by her side, put his ear to her chest,
And told her to say " ninety-nine."
She waggled her tail and she twiggled her trunk ;
To show him as she were alive;
She hadn't the strength for to say "ninety-nine,"
She just managed a weak "eighty-five."
When driver of th' engine got down from his cab
Joe said "Here's a nice howdedo,
To see fifteen elephants ruined for life
By a clumsy great driver like you."
Said the driver, "There's no need to mak' all this fuss,
There's only one hit as I've seen."
Joe said, "Aye, that's right, but they held on so tight
You've pulled back end off t' other fourteen."
Joe still walks around with his elephant troupe,
He got them patched up at the vet's,
But Aggie won't walk at the back any more,
'Cos an elephant never forgets.
