White Hot Wonders

We look in to find white wonders

look out dangers unawares

wired to supernovae campsites

with pots of ashen grit

Turn up the volume

on my misgivings

so I can take back

the leavings of my soul

No fortune teller drinks here

No blind psychic sees the shapes of tea

Fortune Teller

(neville)
Went to a fortune teller
To have my fortune read
I didnt know what to tell her
I had a dizzy feeling in my head
She took a hold of my palm
She said son you feel kind of warm
And then she looked into a crystal ball
She said youre in love
I said how could that be so
Im not friendly with the girls I know
She said when the next one arrives
You gotta look into her eyes
I left there in a hurry
Looking forward to my big surprise
The next day I discovered
That the fortune teller told me lies
I rushed straight back to that woman
Just as mad as I could be
I said I didnt see nobody
Whyd she made a fool of me
Then something struck me
Like lightning from up above
While looking at the fortune teller
I fell in love
Now Im a happy fella
Im married to the fortune teller
Im as happy as I can be
Now I get my fortunes told for free

The Fortune Teller

There's a fortune teller
that tells it like she sees it.
But how do I know that
what she sees is true?
Maybe it's all hokum
and then what will I do?

She tells me I will meet
the man in my life
that will sweep me off my feet
and make me his wife.

She tells me I'll have babies,
that they will make me proud.
She tells me she sees sunshine
and not a single cloud.

And so I feel better,
better than before.
But before I leave,
before I leave your door

Let me look into your eyes
to see if these are lies.
Oh fortune teller let it all be true.
My time is running out now.
It's all up to you.

The Fortune Teller

If you ask me I will tell you
But you need not be upset
Your love has made other plans
And soon your heart will regret
The Fortune Teller
I see many things happening
Your heart is faithful and true
But these cards tell me it all
That person is not for you
The Fortune Teller
It's not in the cards I here see
You need to simply break away
It's best to move on you must
This all what my cards say

A.f.u.

90 days on the road is what i need
When my axe cuts me deep, i let it bleed
On the stage, off my strings, down my face
And all over me
Pumpin' up for the show
Feelin' like something's gonna blow
S'got me all fired up
Yes, i'm all fired up
Through the ice into the fire
Blowin' steam
North and south, east n'west, right n'left
I'm always extreme
Don't like the middle squeezing me
I don't like nothin' in between
Yes, i'm all fired up
Got me all fired up
When the rest have packed it up
I'm alive, i'm electric, inspired
I, i'm naturally wired
Wired, naturally wired
Wired, wired
I'm naturally wired
Naturally wired
Wired, naturally wired
Wired, naturally wired

Away With The Faeries And Wired To The Moon

You can smile at a breeze and I’ve seen it too
Dancing with life, there’s nothing ever blue
Life out of love and love amongst the trees
Nobody knows what a blind man sees
You’re away with the faeries; I’m wired to the moon

Some might say you’re crazy, some say that I’m half mad
Even if that’s true, we know it aint so bad
Some may say I’m lazy, if they wanna make that call
But we shared a whole eternity, from spring until the fall
You’re away with the faeries; I’m wired to the moon

Away with the faeries and wired to the moon
They say that you’re half crazy, but they’ll all be crazy soon
They wonder what it’s all about
You’re happy in and happy out
You’re away with the faeries; I’m wired to the moon

We had parties just for two, and we sank each others’ boats
Twenty psychotherapists could make a million notes
If they could see your artwork and my mushrooms made by hand
But that’s what made us happy in our happy little land
You’re away with the faeries and I’m still wired to the moon
You’re away with the faeries and I’m still wired to the moon

Destiny

O! Fortune-Teller,
Who inscribed consternation
In your eyes after reading,
The lines of my hands?
Tell me what tale you have read,
Tell me at least whatever the tale is
Whether there will be an end of it or not.
O! Fortune-Teller,
Tell me at least something
Whether there will be an end
Of the tale or not.

Joe The Lion

Joe the lion
Went to the bar
A couple of drinks on the house an he said
Tell you who you are if you nail me to my car
Boy
Thanks for hesitating
This is the kiss off
Boy
Thanks for hesitating
Youll never know the real story
Just a couple of dreams
You get up and sleep
You can buy God its monday
Slither down the greasy pipe
So far so good no one saw you
Hobble over any freeway
You will be like your dreams tonight
You get up and sleep
You get up and sleep
Joe the lion
Made of iron
Joe the lion
Went to the bar
A couple of drinks on the house an he was
A fortune teller he said
Nail me to my car and Ill tell you who you are
Joe the lion, yeah yeah
Went to the bar, yeah yeah
A couple of dreams and he was
A fortune teller he said
Nail me to my car tell you who you are
You get up and sleep
The wind blows on your check
The day laughs in your face
I guess youll buy a gun
Youll buy it secondhand
And youll get up and sleep

On Quitting

How much grit do you think you've got?
Can you quit a thing that you like a lot?
You may talk of pluck; it's an easy word,
And where'er you go it is often heard;
But can you tell to a jot or guess
Just how much courage you now possess?
You may stand to trouble and keep your grin,
But have you tackled self-discipline?
Have you ever issued commands to you
To quit the things that you like to do,
And then, when tempted and sorely swayed,
Those rigid orders have you obeyed?

Don't boast of your grit till you've tried it out,
Nor prate to men of your courage stout,
For it's easy enough to retain a grin
In the face of a fight there's a chance to win,
But the sort of grit that is good to own
Is the stuff you need when you're all alone.
How much grit do you think you've got?
Can you turn from joys that you like a lot?
Have you ever tested yourself to know
How far with yourself your will can go?
If you want to know if you have grit,
Just pick out a joy that you like, and quit.

It's bully sport and it's open fight;
It will keep you busy both day and night;
For the toughest kind of a game you'll find
Is to make your body obey your mind.
And you never will know what is meant by grit
Unless there's something you've tried to quit.

Leavings Not Leaving

Title from anywhere but here
Starring susan sarandon
Sometimes a time comes along
When its time to, time to move on
Youll still be there in everything that I do
And wherever I go
Ill remember you
Leavings not leaving
cause Im not, leaving you behind
Youll always be with me, always be with me
Part of my heart for all time
Where Im going , youre going
Even if its just in my mind
Leavings not leaving
Im not leaving you behind
Moments shared there with you
Theyre the best times that I ever knew
Theyll still be there when godbyes are all though
Ill remember those days
Ill remember you
Leavings not leaving
cause Im not, leaving you behind
Youll always be with me, always be with me
Part of my heart for all time
Where Im going , youre going
Even if its just in my mind
Leavings not leaving
Im not leaving you behind
Ill hold on the memories
cause in my heart youll be here with me
Theres no reason to cry
Goddbye isnt really goodbye
Leavings not leaving
cause Im not, leaving you behind
Youll always be with me, always be with me
Part of my heart for all time
Where Im going , youre going
Even if its just in my mind
Leavings not leaving
Im not leaving you behind
Leavings not leaving
Not leaving you behind

The Fortune Teller

He entered the Fortune Teller's tent
When nobody was around,
He didn't want to be seen in there
By the friends that would put him down,
The woman that sat there, heavily veiled
With her hands on a crystal ball,
Said: ‘Cross my palm with silver, sir,
The crystal reveals it all! '

He sat, but nervously sitting there
His mind had become a blank,
All of the questions he'd thought before
Had gone, and his spirits sank.
‘I see a lot of confusion here
The crystal echoes your mind,
What was the thing that you wanted most
Of the things that you sought to find? '

He dredged in the recess of his soul,
Just what did he really lack?
His life had been more than successful
There was nothing that he'd take back,
But he felt an awful ache just then
From the pit of his lonely heart,
‘I still haven't found a woman to love,
So that will do, for a start! '

She waved her hands on the crystal ball
And he noticed the twisting shapes,
Shadows of past liaisons that
Had passed through his garden gates.
‘Perhaps you treat them unfairly
I see tears here by the score,
The women that you rejected, what
On earth were you looking for? '

‘I was looking for love, ' he stammered out,
He could see she wasn't convinced,
‘Love is the one thing left behind
That you haven't revisited since.'
And he thought of June, of Carolyn
And the love that shone from their eyes,
But he'd been so very much younger then
He confessed, and not very wise!

‘They were only poor young village girls,
I'd set my heart on a dream,
I wanted a lady of fashion then
A Duchess, even a Queen! '
‘Do you think that pearls and coronets
Are the signs of a loving heart?
You'd find the cost of upkeeping them
Are the things that set you apart.'

‘There was a girl, ' he began again
That I could have loved with my life, '
He stopped and thought about Carolyn,
‘I should have made her my wife! '
‘I see her, here in the crystal ball
Surrounded by all of your lies,
She loved you once in the wherewithal
But you turned, and cast her aside.'

‘Do you think she'd give me a second chance
If I knocked at the girl's front door,
Would she put out the welcome mat for me,
Or wish that I'd never been born?
I must admit I deserve it, I
Have lived my life like a fool,
The dreams I had were beyond me, I
Regret I was ever so cruel! '

‘The crystal sees you approach her door,
You're getting down on your knees,
It shows you grovelling on the floor
In a vain attempt to please.'
‘I'll do it! She may forgive me then…'
And he left the tent in a spin,
While the Fortune Teller took off her veil
And smiled, did Carolyn!

You Ain't Got It Like a Psychic

You can't tell me what I'm thinking...
Until I tell you what that is!

Uh-uh...
You ain't got it like a psychic.

You can run around and tell folks,
What you think my business is!

But,
Uh-uh...
You ain't got it like a psychic.

You can sneak across the floor.
And put your ear to the door.
Tell my neighbors and friends,
What I do and who for!
But,
Uh-uh,
You ain't got it like a psychic.

It's too bad your lips don't seal.
You need to hush 'em.
You need to keep them closed.

It's so sad you have a mind that reveals...
It's gonna crack!
It's ripe for that.
Waiting to set you back with a heart attack.

It's too bad your lips don't seal.
You need to hush 'em.
You need to keep them closed.

It's so sad you have a mind that reveals...
It's gonna crack!
It's ripe for that.

You can run around and tell folks,
What you think my business is!
But,
Uh-uh...

And put your ear to the door.

It's so sad you have a mind that reveals...

You can't tell me what I'm thinking,
Until I tell you what that is!
Uh-uh...
You ain't got it like a psychic.

Uh-uh...
You ain't got it like a psychic.

Uh-uh...
You ain't got it like a psychic.

You may not like it.
My name ain't Mike,
And I'm 'bout to take a hike!

Uh-uh...
You ain't got it like a psychic.
Uh-uh...
You ain't got it like a psychic.

If you were a psychic,
You would know where you can bite it!

Bite this!
Uh-uh...
You ain't got it like a psychic.
Bite this!
Uh-uh...
You ain't got it like a psychic.
Bite this!
Uh-uh...
You ain't got it like a psychic.

If you were a psychic,
You would know where you can bite it!

Maybe

Maybe
Maybe Im wrong
To go on thinking, to sing my song
Maybe
This worlds falling down
Call up the trumpeters and knock the walls down
Someone who needs
Someone who feels
Someone who sees can find you
Slowly
Slowly we walk
No harm in crying, no sense in talk
Slowly
The ice melts away
Call on the choir to sing
And turn no-one away
Someone who needs
Someone who feels
Someone who sees can find you
Someone who needs
Someone who feels
Someone who sees can find you
Maybe
Maybe Im wrong
The river holds its breath
The sea will keep its calm
Slowly
Slowly we turn
A look at where weve been
The juggler has to learn
Someone who needs
Someone who feels
Someone who sees can find you
Someone who needs
Someone who feels
Someone who sees can find you

One Woman

There've been hard times all around me
I just can't seem to see the light of day.
I need one chance to get away
Before the darness falls upon me.
I need someone to comfort me
When I can't deal with the pain
Somebody to stand by me.
CHORUS
I need one woman
With the same soul as my own.
I need one woman
We can find our way back home.
If I lose my mind, who will find it?
If I draw a line, I'm gonna cross it today.
There must be one place my spirit's free
If my soul could only find it.
I'm alone in a cold dark place
But there's light on the other side.
Just wait 'till I get my self free, I'll find me
CHORUS 2
One woman
With the same soul as my own.
I need one woman.
No I can't do this alone.
I need one woman
With the same soul as my own.
Give me one woman
We can find our way back home.
Turn around
Take a step and turn around.
Turn around
Move ahead and turn around.
It's never too late to turn around.
Don't wanna wait no longer for

Prajapati or prajapita

Can potter ever slaughter?
His own work as creator
He is called father of mankind
And go on making shapes of different kind

He is also known as clay maker
Another name given for him as "prajapita"* or creator
As almighty creates entire human race
You may find with him pots of different shapes

Not all the pots survive
As not all the children live
In this world and meet the fate
Some may come early and some may come late

You will not find single person of same appearance
Even if found it will be one in million chance
You can never find identical nose and face
Where as there is limited scope to make it from base

How can we forget our own creator?
Who has given us everything as our real mentor?
If all his creations survive successfully
Then there won't be any place left to love peacefully

Many pots break during process
Many break while finding access
Yet some of them come out to find the world
Remind us of power that has been lying in his fold

Not only he is known for his creative work
But exclaimed for exemplary show pieces work
His hand moves without any measurement
To be precise and near to precision instrument

I love to praise his ability to shape
He has no thesis or roads on the map
It is purely human instinct to perfection
The art pieces speak of excellent action

* Prajapati or prajapita…. The father of human race

Fame And Fortune

Sittin' in the back of a limousine, feelin' just like a king
All the girls come runnin' to you, you're the latest thing
Sittin' up there at the top of the charts, lookin' like Mr. Cool
You take all the money, steal their hearts, they'll come runnin' to you
Your fame and your fortune, look what it brought you
All your fame and your fortune, you better take a look around
With your fame and your fortune, careful who you talk to
Or the fame and your fortune, watch it all tumble down, yeah, oh listen now
Now you're lookin' for inspiration, somethin' to say
When you find that it don't come easy, you find them running away
You had it all in the palm of your hand, and let it slip away
You made it big, ooh so big, and then you threw it all away
All your fame and your fortune, look what it brought you
Fame and your fortune, hey you better take another look
At your fame and your fortune, it set you up, then it caught you
Fame and your fortune, surely gonna let you down, hey tell me now
(Solo)
All your fame and your fortune, look what it brought you
Take your fame and your fortune, wait and take a look around
For your fame and your fortune, who do you talk to
'Bout your fame and your fortune, as it all comes tumbling down
Fame and your fortune, fame and your fortune, yes all come tumbling down
Fame and your fortune, fame and your fortune, all comes tumbling down...

Wired For Sound

Words & music: michael w. smith and wayne kirkpatrick
Chorus:
Word of mouth is the counselor
There is no need for proof
In a world thats wired for sound
The tongue becomes the mighty sword
That battles the truth
In a world thats wired for sound
Comin on like a tidal wave
That washes thru the brain--a state of mind
No dispute when the noise is made
And so it lets the blind lead the blind
Lured by charisma to be swayed to believe
Chorus
Easier believing what is hard to get rid of than to try
Never searching--just accepting
Feeds the mind enough to get you by
Scratching the surface yet to dig deeper down
Chorus:
Word of mouth is the counselor
There is no need for proof
In a world thats wired for sound
The tongue becomes the mighty sword
That battles the truth
In a world thats wired for sound
Wisdom from the sacred page
Is turned and ignored
In a world thats wired for sound
Chorus

Bring Her Down

I Went out walking to Crippletown
My crutch hit the floor with a boney sound
All the girls, they go beep, beep, beep
How can I love you when you're so cheap, yeah
Turn me on, turn me on, turn me on
Don't be long, don't be long, don't be long
Chorus
Bring her down, bring her down, bring her down
See the wonders around you baby
Bring her down, bring her down, bring her down
See the wonders around you baby
Now everybody gather in the square
To twist their fingers in my hair, yeah
They hang around like a serpentine
And try to speak like Frankenstein, yeah
Turn me on, turn me on, turn me on
Don't be long, don't be long, don't be long
Chorus
The children come all dressed in black
One foot forward the other back, yeah
They splash around in a muddy hole
While everybody cryin' they got no soul, yeah

Don't be long, don't be long, don't be long

One Wants a Teller in a Time Like This

One wants a teller in a time like this

One's not a man, one's not a woman grown
To bear enormous business all alone.

One cannot walk this winding street with pride
Straight-shouldered, tranquil-eyed,
Knowing one knows for sure the way back home.
One wonders if one has a home.

One is not certain if or why or how.
One wants a Teller now:

Put on your rubbers and you won't catch a cold
Here's hell, there's heaven. Go to Sunday School
Be patient, time brings all good things-(and cool
Stong balm to calm the burning at the brain?)
Behold,
Love's true, and triumphs; and God's actual.

Hey Montana

Hey Montana take your daughter back
From the bathrooms evangalist bound
She believes in destiny
Her name's always misspelled
Waitressing to pay the rent
Drinks to quell the smell
Of people breathing way too close
Folks who don't mean well
[CHORUS]
No one sees the color of your eyes
No one sees you smile
No one knows the secrets that you hide
No one sees you cry
She parks her car two blocks away
From apartment 15A
She walks with somber in her step
And scores along the way
Lose your hue you tiny thing
Dropping patron's wine
Singing to your own sad song
Two feet stuck in the mire
[CHORUS]
Hey Montana take your daughter back
It's clear she needs your care
These bustling streets are icy veins
Of a peace who snuffs her prayer
[CHORUS]
No one sees you cry
No one sees you...
Hey Montana take your daughter back
Hey Montana take your daughter back
Please Montana take your daughter back
Hey Montana take your daughter back
Bones and the truth show through...
