If I Could Pass Something On To You
If I could pass something on to you my dear friend, what would it be?
If it was a word or two on life, would you want words simply from me?
Words of my own are of so little value, so why should I even pretend?
For the only words of eternal value are found in the Bible my friend.
As I read the Bible, what I should pass on is made very clear to me,
For this life will soon be over, and where are you going eternally?
Much time is spent on planning for this world that will one day end,
But very little thought is given to one's eternal destiny my friend.
All of the world's uncertainties will end soon, this you can be sure,
While the certainty of the coming age we avoid will last forevermore.
One reason to focus on life with The One Who's knocking on the door,
He promised to purify all with this Hope, just as He Himself is Pure.
You may not be moved by my reasoning or you may not even understand,
But for me it goes beyond reason, as it is The Lord's direct command.
For Jesus said seek first The Kingdom and you will have all you need,
This is something instead of glossing over, each day I try to heed.
Before Jesus left He said make disciples of the nations in the world,
It wasn't only for the Apostles, but for all ages to joyfully herald.
Paul wasn't ashamed of the gospel, for it's the power unto Salvation,
This should shame us until we reach every tribe, tongue and nation.

What Is Said
How could I ever tell you how important what you say
can be
that the words of any man in a day
can affect a life, millions, or even me
our words have so much power
so do not cower
and do not shy away
do not hold back what you want to say
because your words affect a lifetime
speak your mind
all shall be fine
do not fear rejection for the reward is sublime
to save life or cause a turn
to help the world, or save one destined to burn
but forget not that words destroy and create
break down and perpetuate
the power of words and their force of love
the power of words and their capacity for sadistic destruction
forget not that you hold inside this death and life
the power to create argument and strife
or peace and tranquility
remember, remember dear child that each word can kill
each word can fill
with love and joy
or malice and contempt
so don't attempt
to downplay their importance
and play the fool
because its those words that are a part of you
its those words that yours my child
now use them wisely, say what must be said
for with all my years of experience i have learned that what's most important
sometimes...
is simply
What's said

Words of Fire
Words of Fire,
Words of Power,
With the force of a steam train,
With the speed of a bullet,
You hit me.
You knocked me off my high horse,
Upon the ground I lay,
Unable to move,
Such is the power of your word,
You hit me.
When first I read your word,
Words of Fire,
Words of Power,
The threat of culpable damnation,
The gift of undeserved salvation.
You are the living Word,
The only word,
Who was,
Who is,
Who is to come.
Words of Fire,
Words of Power,
Words of Eternity,
Words of Fire,
That burn within my heart.
From my youth,
My hair now grey,
Those words of Fire,
Those words of Power,
My life maintained.

Untitled 15
there is a mountain of words
an ocean of words
a continent of words
there is a rain of words
a flood of words
a river of words and true to their being words
they also disintegrate as syllables
on the other hand some form the clauses
conditions and terms
some make sentences and paragraphs
a world of words full of words
i am not a word and i am buried in a mountain of words
a sea of words i drown
a continent of words i am condemned to walk all the days of my life
too may words my ears do not listen anymore.
my eyes do not like to read anymore.
i like something not having to do with words.
what about a touch? what about a picture?
what about a kiss?
why don't people just make love without saying a word?
let us start touching the hearts of people
to avoid this war of words that lead us to our own perdition.

Words
Flowery words may tickle the ears; even delight the person who hears.
Flowery words are not what I choose, if you desire to just be amused.
For I am truly not a poet my friend, and poetry is not my ultimate end.
Poetry is simply my chosen venue, this to share God’s Truth with you.
The words of men who went before, these are the words I underscore.
They may not be the poet’s choice, but they echo that important voice,
That one who spoke words of Life, The Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Words echoed today for you and I, and this long after our Savior died.
Words of Truth are what I impart, hoping to comfort or change a heart.
Changing souls one heart at a time, for this is Christ’s humble design.
His words are not meant to enthrall, but be a hope and comfort for all.
The words not meant to entertain, but address the issue of sin’s stain.
I will continue to write as I’m moved, for friend I have nothing to prove.
And friend you have nothing to lose, as it is His Truth that you choose.
His words of Truth are tried and true, the words that I share with you.
My friend, the end of each poem, for me, is one page closer to home.
It is simply a poem at the start, but then The Spirit moves in my heart,
And The Spirit’s words fill my pen, with The Savior’s hope for all men.
As I echo all these men of the past, it is a Hope that will eternally last.
When I enter my heavenly abode, a place above I’ll forever call Home.

Parroting Courtesies
my niece asks me to hand a spoon
and i ask her to say 'please' and she utters the word
(perhaps her mama does not teach her the word)
and i hand her the spoon and she is afraid to say the word 'thank you'
and i tell her to say the word and she says it as though it is a strange word
for her (perhaps her dad, who is my brother seldom uses the word in their
house)
and then i tell her after she says thank you 'welcome my dear'
and she giggles, perhaps the words are ticklers to her frail body
to her small hands, to her fingers which grabbed the spoon as though
there are not so many
so many spoons in this world, we know that,
but the courtesies are forgotten, as this happens i feel like i am
parroting words, and sometimes i reflect: do i also really understand
these words, deep down to the longings of my heart?
thanks, but am i that really thankful to God?

COULD WE BE FRIENDS? [BY Redscar & Moons]
MOONS:
Could I be your FRIEND, my friend?
For ‘Redscar and Moons’ sounds sweet
What I mean do you comprehend?
When things went bad I almost quit.
I long for this; could we try to blend
Now that we share a sweet lit seat?
Could I be your FRIEND, friend?
REDSCAR:
Please be my FRIEND, oh friend!
Behold, my bad I won't repeat;
I'll never act like a dire fiend,
And from candor I won't retreat!
...So I beseech that we blend,
For us to make all that is sweet -
Be my FRIEND, my dear friend!
MOONS:
I found a niche in you friend,
Like hearts in rhyme with a beat,
I may not have enough to spend,
Let alone excess for a treat,
Words, these words are all I lend,
...May be as meaningless as skit,
Could I be your FRIEND, Friend?
REDSCAR:
In you I've found a special friend
For with you, my life has no dent;
I'd love to retain you till the end -
As a FRIEND, my, you are God-sent!
...And now in you I highly depend,
For care, and the good that's latent;
Be my FRIEND, my dear friend!
MOONS:
Listen carefully oh friend,
My words are truly meant,
On this Moons you can depend,
My all would certainly be lent,
But am scared should you turn a fiend,
I may crumble not being a magnificent.
Could I be your FRIEND, Friend?
REDSCAR:
God forbid: I'll never be a FIEND,
Never to do anything you dissent!
I love you dearly - I don't pretend
To ever be FRIENDS I beg your assent;
...Like ere my blessings to you I send,
Rebuking all that bring predicament;
Be my FRIEND, my dear friend.
MOONS:
Then, I'm honored my Friend,
Confidants we've just begun to be,
With every additional dividend,
I invest again in You and Me,
This relationship I'll tend,
...A Moons and Redscar spree,
I'll be your FRIEND, Oh dear Friend.
REDSCAR:
How I thank you, my dear friend
For accepting to be in this with me!
I'll cherish your amity till the end,
And I'll shower you with much glee;
...For you, I promise to ever fend -
The only Moon in my sky you'll be;
I'm glad you are my dear FRIEND!

I Like To Think That All These Are But A Game Of Words
that is the impression from the beginning
when i started to scribble
word, and more words, i assured her that they do not
mean anything at all just
words, and words and more words
that even a sunflower wilting and spreading all the seed on her feet
are nothing too but words and more words
nothing to grow nothing to expect like a sprouting something
thus my loneliness, i again assure here, is nothing but a word
my way of taking solitude on the other side to save myself
is another word, and she of course, did not believe me saying
there is more to these words, there is fire in them and i see you burning
there is the sun inside them and the letters glow and the
there is smoke rising from the heads of vowels
from the nonspeaking consonants
i keep hiding the flowers
i bury those that are alive in the silence of my pretensions
until one day she grips me like she is a knife wanting to stab me
and then she stabbed me right in my throat and there i bleed
words, words, and more words coming from the slit
bloody words, and she was convinced, until death, ... and then i vanish.

Dear One
Dear one, how do I find the words,
the words I need to say?
Do they even exist my love?
For words can never convey
my feelings
my emotions,
my love for you
not on any day.
Dear one,
What good are words
that only drift away?
Words that I need to stay,
uttered sounds are here a while.
I speak and then I smile
hoping that in some small way
you'll know on every day
You are my dear one.

The One You Thought Was A Friend
The one you thought was a friend not your friend it would seem
For your friend never would erode your self esteem
Or opposite others see fit to put you down
If you call this one your friend you don't have friends in town
A friend such as this in your life you don't need
Since in life it is hard enough for to succeed
Without your so called friend with words belittling you
To the honour of friendship this person is not true
Negative people for to put down others use words as their fuel
And some people with their words can be very cruel
Your friends don't reflect on you in a negative way
And your friend not a friend that does seem sad to say
And the betrayal of one you considered a friend can seem hard to forgive
But we learn from life for as long as we live

How The Words Are Taking The Man
let me start with one word
another word takes in another
and they begin to talk to one another
i let the third word go
and they will ask another one
to equalize both sides
they will soon invite other words
until they will make a crowd
and the words get so many
now with mouths and no ears
like the drink the words take the man
and after so man y words have been uttered
you begin to regret every word that got in
so many and now you feel so empty.

Words
Words are my weapon
words are my shield
Guns and knifes just ruin lives
so words I keep concealed
Words are all I have here
they help me struggle on
Words are here forever,
when all I have is gone
In my thoughts or in my poems
Words will help ease my brain
I write down what is on my mind
Expressing love or feeling pain
Not that many I can trust
But words I can depend
Words wont turn there back on you
Words are my only friend

The Young Letter Writer
Dear Sir, Dear Madam, or Dear Friend,
With ease are written at the top;
When those two happy words are penned,
A youthful writer oft will stop,
And bite his pen, and lift his eyes
As if he thinks to find in air
The wished-for following words, or tries
To fix his thoughts by fixëd stare.
But haply all in vain-the next
Two words may be so long before
They'll come, the writer, sore perplext,
Gives in despair the matter o'er;
And when maturer age he sees
With ready pen so swift inditing,
With envy he beholds the ease
Of long-accustomed letter-writing.
Courage, young friend; the time may be
When you attain maturer age,
Some young as you are now may see
You with like ease glide down a page.
Even then when you, to years a debtor,
In varied phrase your meanings wrap,
The welcomest words in all your letter
May be those two kind words at top.

To An Old Friend In England
WAS it for nothing in the years gone by,
O my love, O my friend,
You thrilled me with your noble words of faith? —
Hope beyond life, and love, love beyond death!
Yet now I shudder, and yet you did not die,
O my friend, O my love!
Was it for nothing in the dear dead years,
O my love, O my friend,
I kissed you when you wrung my heart from me,
And gave my stubborn hand where trust might be?
Yet then I smiled, and see, these bitter tears,
O my friend, O my love!
No bitter words to say to you have I,
O my love, O my friend!
That faith, that hope, that love was mine, not yours!
And yet that kiss, that clasp endures, endures.
I have no bitter words to say. Good-bye,
O my friend, O my love!

Blessed By The Word
God blesses men with His Word, when The Living Truth is heard,
The hearts of eager men are spurred, at the reading of His Word.
Throughout His Word there is proof, of the Power of God’s Truth,
Even men who disdain The Truth, have seen His hand of reproof.
The Living Word is sharper than, a two-edged sword dear friend,
It changes the inner heart of men, leading many to a Godly end.
The Word of God can surely win, any heart that’s opposed in sin,
And The Word will change within, as you begin to walk with Him.
Friend no matter how you start, The Lord can change any heart,
Once you let Him in your heart, The Word of God will not depart.
The Word of God my dear friend, unlike the world will never end,
And all of eternity we will spend, with The Living Word my friend.
The Word of God changes your life, as you live for Jesus Christ,
Who gave Himself as a sacrifice, so men could have Eternal Life.
Christ is The Word my friend, although many didn’t comprehend,
When He came to dwell with men, coming down to be our friend.
You this day can have New Life, through The Lord Jesus Christ,
Who with His blood paid the price, as God’s redeeming sacrifice.
God will bless you for Eternity, believe in Christ and you will see,
When in The Word you believe, Eternal Life you will then receive.

Words, Oh, They Come Later Before The Explosion Actually
words are not just words
she cries sometimes and i wonder
if i have said something that makes the tears
and let them flow like the waterfalls
of Maria Cristina
how i still wonder
if i have written the words that know how
to pierce the conscience
and burst the bubble
and detonate and explode
the grenades and the landmines
of the war grounds
and theaters of
war
what simply exists there even the word
is uttered.

Little words like Sorry
Little words make me cry
Common go ahead and try
Little words tell no lie
Like the simple word when I say goodbye
Little words tend to tease
Little words tend to appease
And when one says the word please
Life and love is given a new lease
Little words like sorry, don’t worry
Blossom slowly in little glories
And the moral of this story
Is that ‘sorry’ is often said in a hurry

Just Passing Time
She was grasping for a way to tell us all
The hurt she felt inside
Were all too happy she says
Lets have a war
And the night digs deeper in
Theyre just some words to pass the time
Some words to pass the time
Now when the silence gets to be too much
I can feel the soul searching
Where do I go when Ive lost my cause
We are the stories
Even the good ones let me down
There all just words to pass the time
I used to be so sincere
And maybe I still am
And all this small talk Ive been reeling off
Is slowly getting out of hand
I mix real feelings
With the ones I wish I had
And I catch the most important ones
In between them all
Sometimes it seems like theyre all just words
To pass the time
And then weve lost our time
And weve wasted out words
And all the strain is gone
Sometimes its too unreal to believe
Just dont give it all away
Get a grip
Causes sometimes there are just words to pass the time
I said Im too high Im too high
And Im scared of falling down
Ive just been grasping for words
To make you want to stay
To make it worthwhile
I dont want spend the rest of my life
Just passing time
I dont want to spend the rest of my life here
Just passing time

To my dear friend, who brought me back from a terrible place
A dear friend lifts you up,
brings you back from a hellish life.
A dear friend makes you smile,
even as tears stream down your face.
A dear friend shows you that life has meaning,
that your worth something and you belong.
A dear friend tells you how they care,
let you know that you are important and priceless to them.
A dear friend loves you no matter what,
no matter your imperfections or you faults.
A dear friend is always there,
to make it all better, to make your crappy day go away.
A dear friend is what everyone needs,
what everyone deserves.
A dear friend is given from God,
the greatest gift the heavens could ever give.
Thank you Buddy!

How Do You Preach?
Fiend as you preach along the way, do men listen to what you say?
And as The Truth you do impart, do you preach with all your heart?
Friend do you preach with urgency; pointing other men to Eternity?
And do you simply state God’s Truth, in the light of men’s reproof?
It’s not our words that they hear, but God’s Truth they must endear.
Believers must not color God’s Word, to be liked, when we’re heard.
It isn’t our opinions that they need, but God’s Truth they must heed.
Share The Word and nothing more, leaving the results to The Lord.
Do you have a passion in this life, for sharing Truth of Jesus Christ?
Do you have a zeal deep inside, to explain to men why Christ died?
Do you have that burning desire, to snatch others from eternal fire?
Do the words out of your heart; remain with others after you depart?
Soon this temporal life shall end, and Eternity is very real my friend.
We live this life, then we’re gone, but eternity friend goes on and on.
And eternity can be life or death, all beginning with your final breath.
For anyone to enter Eternal Life, they must first accept Jesus Christ.
Men may scoff behind your back, with Truth unhindered from attack,
They may mock you quite openly, about God, who they can not see.
Men can choose to reject The Lord, and be in darkness forevermore,
Although they scoff be assured, all men shall confess Christ as Lord.
