Bertolt Brecht

Radio Poem

You little box, held to me escaping
So that your valves should not break
Carried from house to house to ship from sail to train,
So that my enemies might go on talking to me,
Near my bed, to my pain
The last thing at night, the first thing in the morning,
Of their victories and of my cares,
Promise me not to go silent all of a sudden.

What have i done

Im in a room with you and its eating me alive
I am in the darkness while you're in the light
I thought what we did would satisfy my itch
But all its done is make me feel like a selfless bitch
I fell for you and your traps and i cant take the guilt
I am feeling pain i have never felt
I dont know what im suppose to do
I cant just go on ignoring you
I cant run away from my fears
I am tired of holding back all these tears
I cant stand whats happening its making me inasne
You are the only thing on my brain
I dont know why but i cant conectrate on anything else
This is unlike anything ive ever felt
How do i defeat this overewhelming pain and terror
I cant stand to look at myself in my own mirror
I dont know how i am suppose to cope
I've tried talking but still no hope
I try escaping through music
everything im deeming useless
I feel like ive been used
I feel like ive been abused
I hate myself more then ever before
Its as if my lifeless body is left bleeding away on the floor
I write this with you in the same room sitting a few rows back
my hands are trembling and i feel like im having a heart attache
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh i scream inside and im trying to claw my way out
but im stuck and theres now way out of this cold dark house
the house of fear and pain
the house where theres nothing but rain
the house in which ive resided for many years
the house in which is made by my tears

Little Brother

How you gonna say what you can and cant do,
Sitting in the crib, parked in front of the tube.
Youre mad at the world like she owe you,
What you think opportunitys gonna come looking for you?
Not a damn thing changed.
Youre just another football waiting to be tossed in the game.
Youre flossing again,
You talk a good game, but youre still trying hard to maintain.
Little brother, a ship cant sail without the water.
The world could be yours if you want her,
But you gotta be willing to go out and get it.
When you get it, keep winning.
Everyday youre out slinging that thing.
No worries or cares of what your mama may say.
Trying to get what you want in your life.
The cars, the clothes, the hos, the ice.
Not a damn thing changed.
Youre still another football waiting to be tossed in the game.
Youre flossing again,
You talk a good game,
But youre still struggling hard to maintain.
Little brother, a ship cant sail without the water, no.
The world could be yours if you want her,
But you gotta be willing to go out and get it.
When you get it, keep winning.
Little brother, no, a ship cant sail without the water.
The world could be yours if you want her,
But you gotta be willing to go out and get it.
When you get it, keep winning.
Everything you want could be yours if you were just to try.
All the troubles that you feel will fade away like shooting stars across the sky.
All the dreams I hope you feel soon, someday, shall be fulfilled.
Time is moving rapidly.
Dont let it pass you by, yeah.
Little brother, a ship cant sail without the water, no.
The world could be yours (world is yours) if you want her, (world is yours)
But you gotta be willing to go out and get it.
When you get it, keep winning.
Little brother, no,
A ship (you know we gotta love one another now) cant sail without the water.
The world could be yours (world is yours) if you want her, (world is ours)
But you gotta be willing to go out and get it.
When you get it, keep winning.
Little brother, a ship cant sail without the water, no.
The world could be yours if you want her (the world is yours),
But you gotta be willing to go out and get it.
When you get it, keep winning.
Little brother, get it now, a ship cant sail without the water...

No Spill Blood

(what is the law? )
(what is the law? )
Animals came from miles around
So tired of walking so close toe the ground
They needed a chance, thats what they said
Life is better walking on two legs
But they were in for a big surprise
cause they didnt know the law!
Chorus
(what is the law)
No spill blood
What is the law
(no spill blood)
(who makes the rules)
Someone else
Who makes the rules
(someone else)
The rules are written in the stone
Break the rules and you get no bones
All you get is ridicule, laughter
And a trip to the house of pain!
Chorus (in reverse order)
We walk on two legs not on four
To walk on four legs breaks the law
What happens when we break the law?
What happens when the rules arent fair?
We all know here we go from there
To the house of pain!
To the house of pain!
(what is the law)
What is the law
(who makes the rules)
Who makes the rules
We walk on two legs not on four
To the house of pain
To the house of pain
To the house of pain
To the house of pain
To the house of pain
(no spill blood)

A House for Four

A house for four

What is it? a house for four
A dingy looking thing
Are there windows? none

What is it? a house for four
Such a palace
Are there greetings? none

What is it? a house for four
Why the space is so small
Is there privacy? none

What is it? a house for four
A dozen creeps could be creeping there
Is there any trust? none

Don't judge me for mine
Poor fool i wont
Even give you the time

Are you judging me?
Your quite the choir
With a cracking voice

And
A tall house that falls
To scrutiny

A house for four and
A house for four
A people of choir and
A people of poor

Do you not recognize
The stains are yours?

A house is not a house
Unless there is more

More and more
Sometimes less is more

We got the ATL in the house tonight
We gon' start this thing off right (say what?)
We got some sexy ladies in the house tonight
We gon' start this thing off right (say what?)
We got TLC in the house tonight
Chorus:
Baby, if I drop it down to the ground
Then put it in your face, now what'chu gon' do?
Shorty, if I shake it then turn around
Then back it up on ya, what'chu gon' do?

Single Handed Sailor

Two in the morning, dry-dock town
The rivers rolls away in the night
Little gypsy moth shes all tied down
She quiver in the wind and the light
Yeah and a sailing ship just held down in chains
From the lazy days of sail
Its just lying there in silent pain
He lean on the turist rail
A mother and her baby and the colege war
And the concrete graves
You never wanna against the river law
Nobody rules the waves
Yeah and on the night when the lazy wind is a-wailing
Around the cutty sark
Single handed sailor goes sailing
Sailing away in the dark
Hes upon the bridge on the self same night
The mariner of dry dock land
Two in the morning, but there is one green light
And the man on the barge of sand
Shes gonna slip away below him
Away from the things hes done
But he just shouts hey man, what do you call this thing?
He could have said pride of london
On the night when the lazy wind is a-wailing
Around the cutty sark
Yeah the single handed sailor goes sailing
Sailing away in the dark

The Houses

1898 -- A Song of the Dominions

'Twixt my house and thy house the pathway is broad,
In thy house or my house is half the world's hoard;
By my house and thy house hangs all the world's fate,
On thy house and my house lies half the world's hate.

For my house and thy house no help shall we find
Save thy house and my house -- kin cleaving to kind;
If my house be taken, thine tumbleth anon.
If thy house be forfeit, mine followeth soon.

'Twixt my house and thy house what talk can there be
Of headship or lordship, or service or fee?
Since my house to thy house no greater can send
Than thy house to my house -- friend comforting friend;
And thy house to my house no meaner can bring
Than my house to thy house -- King counselling King.

Baby

Baby, it's alright
Stop your crying
Now
Nothing is here to stay
Everything has to begin and end
A ship in a bottle won't sail
All we can do is dream that the wind will blow us across the water
A ship in a bottle set sail
Baby, it's alright
Stop your crying, now
There was a weakling man
Who dreamed he was strong as a hurricane
A ship in a bottle set sail
He took a deep breath and blew across the world
He watched everything crumble
Woke up a weakling again
Some might tell you there's no hope in angels
Just because they feel hopeless
But you don't have to be a thing like that
You be a ship in a bottle set sail
Baby, it's alright
Stop your crying, now
It's alright
So stop your crying, now
Be a ship in a bottle set sail

James McAvoy

I've done enough for a while and people get fed up of seeing you, but apart from that, although I'm young, I need a bit of rest. You could say I have become a house husband. It's not a new man thing, it's just largely a boring man who doesn't mind staying in the house thing.

Bedroom Karoake

Pink Champagne & I
love your hair...eh?

With a hairbrush
I sing

(prancing like a prat)

doing Rosemary Clooney
doing her thing.

Come on a my house... my house a come on
Come on a my house...my house a come on
Come on a my house...to my house
I’m gonna give ya candy!

You in stitches
having never seen a naked man sing
an old 1950’s song
from his childhood.

I have never seen
a naked woman
laugh so much

You snatch
the hairbrush

& tantalisingly turn the song
into improper suggestion.

Come on a my house.. a my house
I’m gonna give you

Everything...everything...everything!

I come...I come!

Promise

Promise is not to keep,
But to break the ocean like emotion,
In atomic pieces, in electron, proton and neutron.
There I'm a sailor of the lonely ship.

Which wave swings my gushing heart,
I don't know which immense power,
Is guiding me in this crucial hour
Pacifying my tormenting soul with its dart?

I can sail now miles and miles,
Whether the day is windy or stormy,
That force will drive my ship and me,
My love then stealthily smiles.

Your promise you did break,
I strove to keep the sinking light.
You wanted to stay out of my sight;
But my love did never shake!

The Independent Woman....

we are in this house
that from our sweat built
there are only two of us
in this house
which we have not really
called as home,
something's missing
you give me a hint
not the glass window or
the ceiling fan,
i know it but how can i
tell you?
i won't tell, it will hurt you,
we continue living
somehow
just the two of us in this house

we have our own careers
and every morning we rush to go on our different ways
the night is the only place
of our tryst
we manage to spend time for love
we sleep together and share
what we can

there will be a time when this house shall fall
because it is not a home for us all

there will be one morning when you will finally leave
and take away everything from me

and then i will write it on the wall
this house is never a home,
she never wanted a child to bear.

New Found Sympathy

The dust is all that's left
To this lonely room
A few boxes remain
But they'll be gone soon

The pictures that formed the wall
Now belong to the trash
And all the pretty fixtures
Have long been detached

The house that held sunlight
Now only emphasizes gray
Rooms are no longer shining
And I wish it weren't that way

Lonely and empty is this house
But it's not the only one
That lost it's cheer and happiness
Where it's brightness has gone

I wish I could go back
To see what would have been
If thing's hadn't have gone wrong
If I'd still be in this house with him

HOE HOUSE...by talile ali

HOE HOUSE

IF YOU WANNA KNOW WHAT HAPPENS
WHEN DOIN IT RUNS AMUCK
HOE HOUSE

THE MOMMA LIKES TO DO IT
SO DO HER LITTLE DUCKS
HOE HOUSE

SHE DOESN'T WANT THEM DOIN
SOME LAZY KNOTHEAD CHUMPS
HOE HOUSE

THEN SHE GETS ALL DRUNKED UP
AND DOES SOME LAZY BLIND KNOTHEAD CHUMP
HOE HOUSE

THE CHILDREN THEY CAN HEAR HER
WHEN SHE STARTS TO WAIL
HOE HOUSE

DOING ANY FELLA
BEFORE SHE GOES TO HELL
HOE HOUSE

SHE WILL DO'EM NASTY
IN THE RAW OR IN THE MOUTH
HOE HOUSE

WHILE HER BABIES LISTEN
THEY DRESS AND LEAVE THE HOUSE
HOE HOUSE

SHE TELL'S THEM 'IT'S NOT NOTHING'
'JUST A LIL FIX'
HOE HOUSE

THEY COULD NEVER BELIEVE HER
SHE'S JUST UP TO HER TRICKS
HOE HOUSE

WHAT THEY WANT TO KNOW IS
IF THEY GET FUCKED, I SWEAR
HOE HOUSE

THESE BABE'S THEY JUST CANT HELP YOU
CAUSE THEY ARE RUNNING SCARED
HOE HOUSE

YOU'RE THEIR GOD, THEIR TEACHER
THEIR EVER SHINING LIGHT
HOE HOUSE

THE SUCCUBUS IN SEX
THE BLIND, AND DICK, AND SCARY
HOE HOUSE

IS SHE SO SURPRISED
WHEN HER GIRL'S ARE DEAD AND BURIED
HOE HOUSE

WHATS GOOD FOR THE GOOSE
AINT SO GOOD WHEN THEY'RE DUCKLINGS
HOE HOUSE

DON'T BE SO SURPRISED
WHEN THE FRUIT IS REALLY RANCID
HOE HOUSE

WITH THE FELLA'S IN THEIR RAGE
FINISHED HER STOUT BEFORE THEY LANCE IT
HOE HOUSE

SHE'S SO PISSED
HER BABE'S JUST CAN'T HELP HER
HOE HOUSE

WITH A BUNCHA SAD JACKS
HANGIN ALL AROUND TO ENHANCE HER
HOE HOUSE

THEY CAN SMELL THE BREWERY
WAITING TO GET POUND
HOE HOUSE

CHILDREN CAN ONLY SEE
WHAT THEY LEARN AND WHAT THEY FOUND
HOE HOUSE

IF MOM IS DEEP INTO DOING IT
THE GIRLS WILL TRY AT LEAST
HOE HOUSE

YOU DON'T NEED TO LOSE THEM
THE'RE STILL NEW TO THE FEAST
HOE HOUSE

I LIVED IN A HOE HOUSE
I DON'T HAVE A LOT
THERE'S NOT A SINGLE THING
I CAN SAY TO MAKE IT STOP

TO ALL THAT LOVE HOEING,
THE BLOWING, AND WHAT NOT
THE LUST FOR NOT GROWING
IS ALL THAT THEY'VE GOT

IT WAS MY BIGGEST FEAR
EVERY NIGHT, EVERY YEAR
CAUSE IN EVERY SINGLE ROOM
MY GIRLS ARE NOW DOING IT, IT'S CLEAR

WHAT CAN I SAY?

I DIDN'T WANT TO LOSE THEM THAT WAY!

SO IF YOU SEE THAT YOU
ARE LIVING LIKE ME
HOE HOUSE

GRAB UP ALL YOUR BABIES
AND LEAVE THIS INSANITY
HOE HOUSE

They Are Tearing Down My Grandfather's House

(An NLP Editor's Choice Award Winner in Verdant Lands of Spring) They are tearing down my Grandfather's house,
it's made of wood and brick and stone.
The windows they've removed. To them it's real
estate, to me it's my heart being ripped in two.
The realtors, the bankers, the moneymen don't understand.
A house is more than made of wood, a house is made of man. My Grandfather's house is a memory that will
endure after it's torn down.
He's been gone for near thirty years, but his
house had lived on.
I know the world is made of change, and change
is all that's real. But one thing I cannot change,
that is the way I feel. I wipe a tear in the falling rain,
because they are tearing down my Grandfather's
house, and it gives me pain.
I love him as if it were yesteryear,
his wit and smile as warm as the sun.
The house once stood to remind me, but that too
is gone. They are tearing down my Grandfather's house,
it's made of wood and brick and stone.
Yet a house if more than made of wood,
a house is made of love.

I live inthe house of pain
And inside of that house of pain is very cold

And the only way that I can fix it
Is by sweeping all over the house of pain

You Are

You are the first thing
I see in the morning
and the last thing
I see each night.
You are that little ray of sunshine
that greets me when I wake
and the sandman who sprinkles stardust
in my eyes before I sleep at night.
You are that earth angel
that holds and comforts me
whenever this bad old world
gets on top of me.
You are that guiding star
that makes me carry on,
for you the first thing
I see in the morning
and the last thing
I see at night,
because you are my ever-loving partner
though all my trouble and strife.

Every House

Every house has a sun and moon,
And a little porcelain cup,
And a little silver spoon;
Every house has laughter and pain,
And feels the kiss of a needed rain.

Every house has a pet or two,
A cat in the tree,
A dove that coo;
Every house has a little mouse,
Lives in a hole he never comes out.

Every house has a window or two,
And some grass and trees,
And a sky that's blue;
Every house has a child that dreams,
As he plucks at raw reality's seams.
