You need to learn a lot from us, the tiny creatures, cockroaches
We were a colony
I had no head count and
Cannot tell you how many were there
We must be in thousands
We were too crowded was the fact
No one can walk, all of us practically crawling
Our living conditions compare no where
Near the ways you live
Not that we were in discomfort
That is the way we live
This colony got established over a period
We were sure of getting food
Any time any quantity
We were thriving on whatever left over by you people
Our colony grew steadily
Along the road to its full length
It was not known to you people
That there existed colony of ours
Under your own nose
One of your lads
Stumbled in our colony
When he was cleaning the unauthorized canteen
Run on the footpath
Whose kitchen rejects were our feed
He was frightened at the sight of our crowd
And yelled
A war like situation came up
And our colony was invaded
By an army of people
With broomsticks, long flat wooden panels, etc.
In addition, they fumigated our colony
Making us rush out in the open
Young ones managing to run with their guiding mothers
Elder ones even flying
We were not sure as to where
We would be shifting
We crawled here and there
Crossing the road
Minding not the heavy traffic
Some of us got crushed too
We were fleeing for life
We got spread so much
The entire passers by had a feel of our unique scent
Some of them even holding their breathe
And some using out their handkerchief as respiratory protection
There was no need for this invasion
We were in no competing with any of your things
We were making a living of your left over
We were not seen in your midst
It is alright, if you want us to vacate
But, it hurts if you take measures to eliminate us
We were created by the same nature
That created you
We assure you
Despite your dislike and distaste for us
We will survive as we are determined
You should appreciate the strength
And steadfastness with which we survive
Even the toughest of conditions
Will not eliminate this gene
You need to learn a lot from us
The tiny creatures, cockroaches

PARTY AT THE LEPER COLONY
Finger food and an ice cold keg
It won't cost you an arm and a leg
Dance all night to a rotten band
Come on, people, let's give 'em a hand
Saturday night it's the place to be
Everybody cut footloose with me
At the party at the leper colony
Oh, there's a party at the leper colony
Met a little lady so pretty and young
She was quite a talker till the cat got her tongue
She oozed up beside me, I turned on my charm
Well, pretty soon she was completely disarmed
I said, "Girl, now don't fall to pieces on me"
But she cried her eyes out . literally
At the party at the leper colony
Oh, there's a party at the leper colony
Hey! Hey!
Hey now, buddy, don't you give me no lip
Sorry I was using your head for a dip
There's a guy in the hot tub, I don't know who
Wait a minute, it looks like Stu
Well, hold the phone now, what do I see?
Another pretty mama got her eye on me
At the party at the leper colony
Oh, there's a party at the leper colony
There's a party at the leper colony
(Party at the leper colony)
There's a party at the leper colony
(Party at the leper colony)
Oh, there's a party at the leper colony, yeah, party at the leper colony
Well, there's a party at the lepr colony
(Party at the leper colony)
Hey!

Windchime Row
A fishing colony by the sea, just beside the beach.
A little street and left and right, five shanties each,
and two more on the right hand side, they're abandoned though,
the fishing colony by the sea I call Windchime Row.
Whenever I happen to be walking down that lane,
I almost never; fail to hear; every now and then,
the wind playing poet with the windchimes, and with many a gentle touch,
composing so many wordless rhymes that speak just as much,
as if a thousand songs were sung, but you have to have the ear,
and the belief in your heart , only then you can hear,
the poetry in the gusts of salty sea breeze, as they come and go,
in the fishing colony by the sea I call Windchime Row.

I hated the lost colony; in second grade, we were doing American History, and they said, We don't know what happened to them. That drove me nuts. That lost colony drove me crazy.

Let us think, Who we are?
Let us clarify ourselves,
Are we here to Earn Self?
Are we here really,
Then who are we,
From where we come here,
If we look at the evolution of life, Everycell in our body is living,
Body is colony of cells,
Each cell performing its duty,
Without knowing the final result,
A cell may not be knowing who
is master of this body, From where it gets food,
Who removes the garbage and
waste, It is I am that dwelling here,
Identifying myself as colony of
cells,
Feeding it, using it and enjoying
fruits,
Happiness and pain!
isn't it clear that we are not
the body?
We are not the mind that depend
the capital city,
Of this colony,
The brain in the head,
Still look at are we physiological
and psychological wonder,
Or are we wonder beyond these
all?
Aren't we the root cause of all
wonder, Creating these wonder out of
elements? Limiting ourselves is our own
fault,
We are master of our own,
Yet we live like slaves of our own
creation!
Look at what we call as grace of God!
Isn't it our own purity,
Our own mastery,
Or own fight against odds,
The result of battle between
real and unreal is graceful than any grace?
God will look at you with neutrality,
As neutrality and impartiality are his qualities,
Just He is witness to what you are!
You are the Self of universe,
Everywhere you confuse yourself with time and space,
Get confused with colonies,
Just widen own consciousness,
You are that who has that capacity,
Once learn that you are the lord,
See that Lord in everyone,
Every knowledge is yours,
Because same truth lies behind everything,
as consciousness that lives in you as your core!

Distress
Butterflies, trees and the clues for this triangle!
For i am in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.
Visualize the future with the expeditions of mankind and,
Do not distress yourself with the fruits of love;
For i am like an abandon colony.
A romantic dreamer,
And of the cheekbones to spare;
But, love can leave you uncertain! !
And like a 'Ghanaianlogist' in a distinctive territory,
For, i am like an abandon colony.
Aeronautics, astonautics, areodynamic;
Love can leave you uncertain! !
But, visualize the future with rthe expectations of life.

Chinese Immigration
You doubtless read the papers,
And as men of observation,
Of course you watch the progress
Of Chinese immigration--
For thousands of these pigtail chaps
In Adelaide are landing;
And why they let such numbers come
Exceeds my understanding.
On Emerald Hill it now appears
A Joss House they've erected;
And they've got an ugly idol there--
It's just what I expected;
And they offer nice young chickens
Unto this wooden log;
And sometimes with a sucking pig
They go the entire hog.
Now some of you, perhaps, may laugh,
But 'tis my firm opinion,
This colony some day will be
Under Chinese dominion.
They'll upset the Australian government,
The place will be their own;
And an Emperor with a long pigtail,
Will sit upon the throne.
Melbourne will be the seat of power,
And then 'tis my impression,
Of the stations up the country
They'll quickly take possession.
The squatters will be used as slaves,
By the Celestial nation;
And growing tea or rice will be
Their only compensation.
The mandarins will seize for wives
The fair Australian girls;
And from Melbourne to the diggings
They'll cut lots of canals.
And for fear the coves of New South Wales
Should pay a hostile call;
Between this colony and that
No doubt they'll build a wall.
The customs of their country
Of course will then prevail;
And every English slave will have
To wear a long pigtail.
We'll all of us be fed on rice,
As true as I'm a sinner;
And 'stead of spoons we'll have to use
Those chopsticks for our dinner.
This picture, perhaps, is overdrawn;
But, however, who can say,
That all these things will not take place,
If we let them have their way.
If it comes to pass, these English songs
Away I'll quick be flinging,
And learn their language; and come out
In Chinese comic singing.

Lines On A Visit To Port Fairy
I walked Pathway that led through muttonbird colony
On Island off Port Fairy by the sea
In latter March a bright though breezy day
With voice of seagull ringing down the bay.
On Easter Sunday nineteen eighty nine
A breezy day of spasmodic sun shine
Sweet scent of sea and tide sound in my ear
And weather pleasant for the time of year.
Muttonbirds dig their nest holes in the ground
And their nest burrows were plentiful all around
And I quote from ornithologists who know best
That this year same Muttonbird use last year's nest.
Parent muttonbirds gone fishing out to sea
Leave behind them their nest bound families
Their three months old nestlings unable yet to fly
Future earth born distant travellers of the sky.
In metre deep burrow in fore shore sand
I searched along it's bottom with my hand
Felt the soft down feathers of a sea bird's breast
A young near full fledged nestling in it's nest.
In Island off Port Fairy by the sea
With voice of seagull ringing down the bay
I walked Pathway that led through muttonbird colony
On Easter Sunday quite a pleasant day.

From The Dark Aged Continent
A people comes hurrily
from the dark aged continent,
emerging as the world super-power
in no distant time.
A people once a colony
of one European species;
a people once oppress’d,
and culture down-turn’d by the bleach’d culture.
Here comes the people of tough black skin,
conquering peoples upon peoples
to rule the whole world with
their own refin’d science and arts:
a people of one soul, one way, one mind.

Ants and the Lessons They Teach
In a cluttered heap
Under an empty tin
Settled a colony of black ants
Neither annoyed by raging heat
Nor drenched in pouring rain
With intrusion from nowhere,
They thrived on as a single swell.
The happy residents of this peaceful abode
Never deterred by distractions any
Survival, being their sole intent
Work in unison to meet their needs.
Some, like warriors, guard their nest
While others go foraging food
Each having his assigned role
And none fattening on another's sweat
A gracious queen here rules the nest,
Neither despotic nor imperious
Staying inside, patiently laying eggs
Knowing, they thrive on increased number.
Within the colony, they look a wobbling mass
Often as black paint, carelessly daubed
Almost glued to a fixed space
They hardly move or run around.
If on a sudden, an invasion arises
In an instant, they burst into thousands
And run helter- skelter
Hunting for a new settlement
As the initial commotion subsides
They fall into an unbroken line
Each carrying in its tiny mouth
Their budding progeny in milky white
Those specks of white in larva form
And march headlong for pastures, new.
Swift is their evacuation
Majestic is their migration
Oh, what fun! Watching this exodus of black army
March solemnly to their destination!
Though there exists an abysmal gap
Between the mighty men and these tiny ants
What valuable lessons they oft teach
That put we brags to utter shame
Among the umpteen lessons, they glibly teach
If we could just emulate the cardinal ones;
Their spirit of harmony and collective work
No doubt, mankind would be a happier lot!
