Sail Through Your Emotions, Don't Sink

Life, people say, a journey
Indeed, it is a journey through emotions
Life turns dry
If it is without that

Emotions steer the course of life
It drives you take directions

As in a journey there are stops or stages
We too come across in this
Inevitable life journey
A number of junctions
With an emotion stopping us
To take the appropriate direction

A journey could be smooth
And less cumbersome
With emotions not stopping us for long
And demanding tough decisions

Emotions are not absolute
Their nature and extent
Varying with previous journey experiences
As a kid the emotions go unregistered
And the stops do not long last
Journey goes on smoothly for most of us

As we advance in the journey
The emotions become strong
And they get registered
Making us spend long time
In identifying the so called right directions

Checking emotions and not yielding to them
Is indeed a wisdom
And not many are successful
In making this happen

It is well advised
Not to allow your emotions drown you
But to develop in you a float
So that you sail over them

Seeking divine guidance
Developing a taste for artful creations
Looking for opportunities in challenges
Schooling your mind against
Wild and negative thoughts
Heartfully laughing in testing circumstances
And out-of-the-box thinking
Are the prescriptions
For sailing over emotions
So that you will enjoy living

Save yourselves
Sail over emotions
Sink not into them

Journey Again

At times in our journey
We reach place with lot of greenery
Lovely place to stay for long
Good people to be with for life

But when seasons change
And wind changes its direction
We need to set out on our journey again
To a journey that never concludes

As I stand looking as far as I could see in the direction of road ahead
Series of events roll down my memory lane
And tears dropp from my eyes
And a question arises is it all worth the challenges ahead?

But in the end you need to win over your emotions
Win over your doubts
And continue the journey again
In the direction of Sun

As you pursue the journey again guarding against all odds
Putting all your learning in practice
Ensuring mistakes not repeated
Dreams are achieved

But you know that life has in store new lessons to teach you.
And new places to take you.
So loosen your belts; set your wings far & wide
And let the winds take you to places

Painting dreams...

Gazing at an empty page,
Thoughts and emotions run wild.
A portrait of words come to life,
Like dreams of emotions dancing.
Images of us live on in written words,
Stirring my mind and emotions.
A world of dreams built within the mind,
Forever floating upon the emotions of fantasy...

Spread the love... The peace will follow...

I Swear By The Journey

I swear by the journey,
As I walk,
Emotions get to talk,
My guts by virtue get to be bold,
As I sing,
The voice will be heard by all swings,
I swear by the journey,
As I fly,
Then I will stand and rely,
As I love,
I will hold and cherish the havenly dove,
As I smile,
I know my living days are granted another mile,

I!
Swear!
By!
The!
Journey!

As I fall,
I will get up again and kick the ball,
As I stand,
Firm I get, because I do not depend,
As I feel the pain,
efforts will never the less get a slain,

As I write,
The journey of benediction gets even more bright,
As I live,
In God, once more I get to believe,
As life goes on
My happiness goes on and on

Hang On To Your Emotions

When your imagination has too much to say
When the chill of the night meets the sweat of the day
And you have trouble understanding what other people have to say
Youd better
Hang on to your emotions, hang on to your emotions
When a demagogue inside your head has taken charge
And by default what you say or do is criticized
And this litany of failures is recited a thousand times
Youd better
Hang on to your emotions, hang on to your emotions
Could it be youve never felt like that
That your minds a cage - inside the cage a cat
That spits and scratches all it can get at
And thats you, and your emotions
Could it be youve never felt like that
Your minds a cage - inside the cage a rat
Rabidly trying to get it, you
And your emotions, you and your emotions
When your imagination has too much to say
When that facile voice inside your head says give your life away
You might think to ask - how it got that way
What books it has read - that make it that way
And where it got the right - to speak to anyone that way
Youd better
Hold on to your emotions, hold on to your emotions
When a night citys breeze blows across the room
And a 5 am moon and sun start their swoon
You hear your lovers breath
And not a moment too soon
You get to
Release all your emotions, you get to
Let go of your emotions, and now
Release all your emotions, youd better
Let go of your emotions
Release, I wanna let go
I wanna release, now

The Smell Of My Emotions

these emotions are scents,
they long, for your perfume,
that time, when you were
beside me, i want to hold you
and kiss you, nothing metaphorical
about a kiss, like lips, like
tips, tongues, are tongues,
tasting like you, and your emotions,
they give me a trail,
domesticating me to your
heart, a home, but not
for me, it is you, and i know,
i cannot have, but just beside
you, in this car, this journey,
that i mumble, for how long,
i know, it will be forever,
this longing, this dream,
of one, of wholeness,
i remain, incomplete, i have
hands but they are still,
like posts, with lights
on an evening, and you
are below me, as i provide
the light, and then you
walk away, just like that,
just like that, just like that,
there is no breath for me
there is no place.

Falling In Love

Falling in love
It grabs me it scares me
It knows how to inform me
Falling in love
It takes me on a journey
Of emotions deep inside me
Falling in love
Nothing prepared me
For this feeling that Im feeling
Falling in love
Its draining its wearing
I surrender completely
Ooh I wasnt ready for this
Its good its bad
Im happy and Im sad
A mystery to behold
It speaks only to heart and soul
Like a melody deep inside of me
I saw that love keeps playing on and on
A symphony so glad I hear
Angels whispering
Falling in love
It grabs me it scares me
It knows how to inform me
Falling in love
It takes me on a journey
Of emotions deep inside me
Falling in love
Nothing prepared me
For this feeling that Im feeling
Falling in love
Its draining its wearing
I surrender completely
I never knew that life could be
So heavenly Im feeling free
Oh how could something be so satisfying
And yet a feeling of fearfulness
Is lurking in the mist of the bliss
Inside my heart but I know thats all a part
Falling in love
It grabs me it scares me
It knows how to inform me
Falling in love
It takes me on a journey
Of emotions deep inside me
Falling in love
Nothing prepared me
For this feeling that Im feeling
Falling in love
Its draining its wearing
I surrender completely
Im a business queen
In a courtroom kingdom
But when it comes to love
Theres no software made for that
Love oh love you came
You turned my perfect world upside down
Like a work of art
Love has shaped my heart
Falling in love
It grabs me it scares me
It knows how to inform me
Falling in love
It takes me on a journey
Of emotions deep inside me
Falling in love
Nothing prepared me
For this feeling that Im feeling
Falling in love
Its draining its wearing
I surrender completely

Traveling

Entering the Springtime of my life years ago
Myriads of emotions sprinkled with bouts of woe
Tested my metal and kept me sway
As I traveled a journey toward The Way.

Little did I know in the heat of the Summer
Eventually I would surmount as an overcomer
Obstacles of draughts and fires that charred my soul
As I traveled a journey toward The Goal.

As the Autumn of my life came and went
I pondered if prior seasons were well spent
Resolving to focus on others, myself as least
I now traveled a journey toward the Banquet Feast.

Now in the Wintertime of my Salvific traveling
Avenues of serenity are oft pitted by graveling
Step by stoney step I mount the steep climb
Traveling the journey toward a Heaven sublime.

Steer through this ocean of emotion, which is your own creation

You are on an ocean
And on a small boat
Exclusively for you
You the lone passenger

You know what all could be there down under
The vast expanse of water

The marine life
Its varieties
Their beauties, strengths
And even their wild behaviours

You know also the
Great hidden treasure
At the bottom of the seabed

But you are always worried
About how to go about
Reaching the invisible shore
And you do not know
How far it is and in
Which direction

Rising waves raise fears in you
The unseen big marine animals down under
Occupy your thoughts
And threaten your very existence

There is shine
There is shower
There is cold
There is storm
But, you need to stick on
And to proceed till the time
You reach the shore

You are unaware of the
Nature of the shore
Where you will be landing
And in what shape

The above is the description
Of birth and death cycle
In Oriental thinking

The ocean personifies
The emotional turbulence
That occurs in you life through

Emotions are as strong as ocean
And they have the powers
To sustain livelihood
To create and to destroy as well
A check on emotions
Is the way you steer through
The ocean of life

Nurse those emotions, which are
Creative, proactive and productive
And do away with those
Which can drown you
And can be destructive

Seeking divine assistance
For safe landing on the shore
Is what these philosophies preach
Orienting yourself towards
Spirituality and self realization
Help you perform worldly duties
Without emotions
But, with passion and devotion

Steer through this
Ocean of emotion, which is
Your own creation

The Trigger Called Emotion

when emotions run high
poems come like
a tornado,

when emotions run low
what is happening
to you?

when emotions become
too suspicious
what is next to do?

will you pull the trigger of
the gun and leave
the handwritten note:

because i love
you so?

Riot On Brain Cell Block 3

The emotions were running wild that night
Overpowering the guards and taking over
Threatening to end the serenity of life
Flooding the world with anger, hatred, tears

It was quiet that night on brain cell block 3
When two emotions, greed and lust, got into it
Fighting over which was the most deadly sin
Then, one by one, the other emotions joined in

Tenderness hit Love over the head with a chair
Sympathy punched Compassion in the face
Cowardliness called Fear a chicken
Courage had Bravery in a headlock

The warden sent in his finest
Strength and Determination
But even these two, the strongest of the strong
Were no match for emotions run amok

Excessive Emotions

Control your emotions:
Be it anger, love or hate;
Let it never seize your heart;
Cut it from the start!

Control your emotions:
Be it earthly or divine;
Corporeal or sexual;
Excess spells your doom!

Control your emotions:
Even if it be good or bad;
They cause upset of your mind,
Affecting your health!

Control your emotions:
Your feelings must be balanced;
Excess is bad to body;
Meditation’s good!

Control your emotions:
Perilsome’s a sinful course;
A graceless soul, steeped in sin
Is damned forever!

The Winner Of This Battle

It's those...
Emotions we must conquer.
Emotions we must conquer.
Emotions we must conquer.

It's those...
Emotions we must conquer.
Emotions we must conquer.
Emotions we must conquer,
With a chasing away.

And...
The winner of this battle,
Doesn't ride on a saddle.
Or wear outfits,
To impress anybody they've got it licked.

The winner of this battle,
Doesn't ride on a saddle.
Or wear outfits,
To impress anybody they've got it licked.

Some do not expose,
Their woes on their sleeves.
With a showing they can be compose,
To a degree.

Although they may struggle,
With many troubles...
People like this don't deny,
They don't seek a ride to hide...
And rush away on alibis.

The winner of this battle,
Doesn't ride on a saddle.
Or wear outfits,
To impress anybody they've got it licked.

The winner of this battle,
Doesn't ride on a saddle.
Or wear outfits,
To impress anybody they've got it licked.

It's those...
Emotions we must conquer.
Emotions we must conquer.
Emotions we must conquer.

And the winner of this of this battle,
Are those...
Emotions that are conquered.
Emotions that are conquered.
Emotions that are conquered.

The winner of this battle...
Are those emotions that are conquered.
Emotions that are conquered.
Emotions that are conquered.

Journey to Be

I think I'll journey out some day to wondrous lands afar,
Or even chart a journey to a distant blazing star.
But rest assured that when my journey begs to take its cue,
Always know that when I go, this journey takes you too.

We'll start our journey out from here by horse and cart of old,
The seaside docks - and journey pauses - where we shall behold
A noble schooner for the journey primed to launch as planned:
To sail with dolphins cross the seas then journey back on land.

And so our journey goes by foot to conquer mountains tall:
A chapter hence the journey reached, with scenes that should enthral.
But when we tire, let's rest our journey, stretched in fields of flowers,
And bathe atop the mountain from the journey - autumn showers!

Refreshed, our journey takes a turn - we'll venture back for home,
But first we'll let the journey take a tangent just to roam.
And in the winding route, this journey's bound to bide content,
But most of all take heed - let's make our journey life's event.

Thirty Eight Years...time really got wings!

Braving through the ocean of emotions...
Life's journey....38 years whizzed by..
Time has wings and it really did fly..
Twas a long journey, life's emotional battle and managed to survive
When from heaven came in two angels to my dreams to revive...
So much love, joy, laughter, tears that each dawning day met.
Made the uncertainty the confusion so easy rapidly to forget..
Unmoved by the passing expected storms with many a weep..
Helped shape my life to daringly climb the mountains so steep..
then came another sweet angelic two with the blessing from above..
It filled my heart with the sweetest fragrance of eternal love..
Sharing individually, collectively days, a many that were not a song
It so true.. almost a half a century and we manage to trudge along..
through the years a journey that keeps still a sailing in the same majestic fleet
till the angels call and hopefully in the land of no return more happiness we meet!
Were you that 19 year old in dark glasses, the drummer that came so long long ago
I was ust seventeen and half that photo of you in my heart lives on forever more....tnx

Journey Knowing Pain

The ‘JOURNEY’ of life is full of so many mysteries,
Almost never giving the answers we would to hear.
Cruel and hard as it seems,
The journey continues from day to day,
Week to week, month to month and year in and year out.
Sometimes we feel this journey is so meaningless,
Emptiness fills our hearts, we sadden, we bleed,
Find ourselves without a face
Not wanting to go on any longer
Asking and seeking…is it really worthwhile
To suffer each day so relentlessly
No horizon to been seen, stars they don’t shine
Rainbows have no colours, the sun cold,
Cold as ice, raindrops become your tears,
The wind your inner fears,
The ocean mixing up your emotions.
Flowers wilt as so does your soul,
Songs become just a tune without melody,
The beautiful lyric you once heard
Is deaf to the ear.
You stumble and fall from mistakes made,
There is no forgiveness, no trust, all is gone,
Judged, convicted and sentenced.
How do you pick up the pieces again?
It seem a mission impossible
To far from your reach, the miles never ending.
This is the ‘JOURNEY’ I am experiencing now
The reflection in the mirror a wicked monster,
To be condemned till the day I die
Called a ‘Journey Knowing Pain! ’ for
I cannot just be ‘ME! ’
But in my heart I know that ‘IF’….
I could take back yesterdays journey
It would be the very first thing I would do.
To those who I have shared this ‘JOURNEY, ’
For all the pain, all the wrong, all my mistakes.
Which caused pain and made you bleed and ache within,
As humble as I can be I beg your pardon.
Please look into your heart and forgive me,
Once more I stretch out my hand to you
And ask once more….
Help me turn this ‘JOURNEY’ for the better
And not the worse!

dedicated to: my other wing!

Spirtual Ethics

'To take the life of self or another'
Never again a journey with sister or brother.

'To be the instigator of physical or mental pain'
A journey as the receiver of the act; time and time again.

'Those who cheat, lie or steal'
A journey of darkness never to see or reveal.

'The abusers of the earthly phsycial form'
A journey when they wished they were never born.

'Those who do not share their earthly treasure'
A journey spent in waiting in a time they cannot measure.

'Those who do wrong and believe it is right'
A long, long journey to see a heavenly sight.

'Those who misuse the gift of power'
A journey that will include an eternal hour.

'Those who fail to give thanks for the gifts of each'
The jorney delayed until some one can teach.

'Failure to offer free expression to God of a love deep within'
The journey will not contain a door for a new life to begin

Emotional Tools

some use the brain
the right most of the time
so they can earn a living

u and i, use the left
to sing that song and read a poem
at night
with our special friends
we toast wine
we light candles in the dark
we laugh together
at our shortcomings
we celebrate
anniversaries of our failures
we also remember
our little triumphs
we share our grief and joys
we are together in this
journey of the self
and the world

our brains fail us
and so we begin to resort to the heart
filled with so much emotions

and then we are drained
with so much love and departures
we invoke love
all the gods and goddesses of love and pity
on broken hearts
we surrender and yet we never promise
not to love and fail again

and then we resort to silence
and acceptance
we get used to all these processes of thought and feelings
emotions that burst and subside

we gaze at ourselves
in the mirror
white hairs cover our head
some bald and skinny and
gnarled-looking

and then we finally wish to reach the apex of this journey
murir es descansar
to God, to God, we all go back

HE is home.
