Raining On The Inside

When all goodbyes
Are said and done,
And nighttime finds you home,
Are you all right
To spend a night
Of being all alone?
And do you hide
Between the lines
Of conversations past?
A wall of words,
A heart unheard,
That hides behind a mask?
Im raining on the inside;

Raining, Raning...

It was raining, raning,
Non stop, blub blub, blub
It dropped on the shallow
Sheet of water flowing,
Making bubbles that burst
In merriment to the drops,
Childhood dawned
In the mind, when I made
Small paper boats
In the flowing water
Akin to the ship in seas,
The rain came down
In beautful shower as if
Sent down from the heavens,
Pure water droplets,
To cool the polluted earth,
Wash away all the wastes
Sins of our making,
Cars, scooters, splashing
The water sheets,
In a beautiful rythm,
To drench the passersby
Who went by under colourful
Umbrellas, like in a parade,

When a womans in trouble,

It’s quiet, very quiet in the veldt

It’s quiet, very quiet in the veldt
even the crickets and grasshoppers
are without sound

and the chopper drones away
leaving me and Johnny
and a few other men

with a Bushmen tracker
to follow a enemy spoor
and suddenly we walk straight in
to a ambush, right into a trap

and Johnny is dead, shot through the head
and three others as well and it feels as if I am in hell
and I am talking to myself

trying to get my bearings while firing at the enemy,
killing some and throwing two grenades
to advice them of my serious intentions

and the enemy shooting stops, as does that
of me and my men and I smell death
and are nauseous to the point of retching

and it’s quiet, very quiet in the veldt
even the crickets and grasshoppers
are without sound.

Never Empty

Do you ever muse what houses do
while you're at work, the kids at school,
how the traffic roars as it rolls on by
and the telephone rings with no reply.
The refrigerator sings its refrigerator tune
and the gas man calls in the afternoon.
How rain pours through that hole in the roof
and the ants infest all the children's shoes.
Have you ever thought on that dear folk,
when you're out all day and the front door's locked.
When the spiders dance and crickets chirp
with their clod hopper feet on the skirting boards,
making merriment while you're away,
assuming the house is empty all day.
Have you ever looked under old floor boards
where the mice all run when the cat's at play
and the spiders return at the break of day.
Only the house knows what goes on,
only its walls see the spiders run
and the crickets dance and the mice at play,
only the house when you're all away
except for the clock on the kitchen wall
with its heart ever beating the time of day.

Love These Laws

I love the laws that God sends down on us, raining,
Opening the doors of heaven, of absoluteness, raining.

My heart speaks to the delight of the creation,
Offered by us is this religion of accurateness, raining.

Let the ages pass and make us supreme, from all the water
Descending on the skulls and bones of adorableness, raining.

Let the brain be a monster to be rewarded for the drops of deeds
Falling into the ocean of our lives, always in activeness, raining.

Pass your test if this soul in the heart matters most,
Rain has arrived for the heart to be famous, raining.

Little tests are good deeds when passed for success
To reign in our history, of this history is fatherliness, raining.

My mad health kept a watchful eye on the laws of men and stones,
In Hell the men and stones are buried with hazardousness, raining.
